After winning their third game in as many weeks, the Broncos have two players up for voting for awards for their performances in Week 3.
Knowshon Moreno is nominated for the Diet Pepsi Rookie of the Week after his 21-carry, 90-yard, one-touchdown performance on Sunday. His teammate in the backfield, Correll Buckhalter, is nominated for the FedEx Ground Player of the Week after notching his first 100-yard rushing game as a Bronco, finishing with 14 carries for 108 yards.

Moreno is nominated along with Donald Brown of the Indianapolis Colts, Percy Harvin of the Minnesota Vikings, Mark Sanchez of the New York Jets and Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions.
Moreno’s 21 carries led all rookies in Week 3 and marked the highest total of rushing yards by a rookie yet this season. He was also one of only two rookie running backs to post a rushing score in Week 3, earning his first NFL touchdown in Sunday’s 23-3 win against the Oakland Raiders.
In addition, 20 of his 21 carries did not go for a loss. That 95.2 percentage tied for the best in the NFL among all players for Week 3 with a minimum of 17 carries. Those 21 carries against Oakland represented the second-highest game total by a rookie yet this season.
Buckhalter is up against New Orleans’ Pierre Thomas and Jacksonville’s Maurice Jones-Drew. Buckhalter’s 108 rushing yards marked the second-highest total in the AFC for the week, and the fifth 100-yard rushing game of his career.
His 7.7-yard rushing average led the AFC for Week 3 for all rushers with a minimum of 10 carries, and ranked second among all AFC players for the entire season so far. His two runs of at least 20 yards — a 34-yarder and a 23-yarder — both set up scores — a touchdown and a field goal, respectively — against the Raiders. His 34-yarder tied for the second-longest run in the AFC for the week.

broncos20: Cowboys LT Flozell Adams is on the downside of his career. He somehow managed to make the Pro Bowl despite giving up 7 sacks and getting flagged for numerous false starts and a few holding penalties the year before. He had a couple of false starts the other night vs. Panthers….(their weakest link on the line)! Their strength on the O line is C Andre Gurode and RG Leonard Davis. Let’s see if we can get loud enough to make Flozell jump offsides at Invesco on Sunday !

And for as long as I can remember, we’ve never gotten the respect we deserve, even when we won 2 SBs… BACK TO BACK!! Nobody likes the Broncos… no use in trying to please those that have brain shortages. Let them be loosy goosies and we’ll shock the world. Yeah it irks me we get ZERO respect no matter how well we do but nobody knows this team better than those apart of it and of course the best fans in the world! ha You would think if we beat the Cowgirls on Sunday we’d get some respect… just the opposite. The crazy people will just have another reason to hate us. We have the potential to beat the beloved Texas team and in their eyes that’s a crime, therefore they’ll disklike us even more then they already do. Just let ‘em be and we’ll further tick them off. Can hardly wait!!

alot of people wondered why we drafted moreno i guess mcdaniels knew what he was doing. They also wondered why we picked up buckhalter who was always a backup and always hurt. But moreno is leading all rookie running backs and buckhalter is averaging over 7 yrds per carry. Maybe the coach actually knows something about players to fit his system and we all do not. It appears we did not need to draft all defense like everyone thought just smart players to buy into the systems of the good coaches mcdaniels got for us. GOOD JOB SO FAR COACH MCDANIELS

rizeupdenver…Kyle Orton does have any INTs, only 3 NFL QBs can say that right now and none of them are named Manning, Brady, Brees or Cutler for that matter. Coach McD said in his press conference that Orton audibled to alot of the run plays that gave us tremendous success, that means he’s smart…Denver’s Offense…thats right OFFENSE is ranked in the top 10 in the league right now…I could keep going but you are not worth anymore time….get your facts straight and look at the data before you go off all half cocked. Give the guy a chance. As far as being a real fan goes….my priority number is 3 digits…if you don’t know what that means then just ask me.

You guys are the best seriously and remind me why I have spent the past 26 years as a bronco fan. No bronco fan cares about the attitude or opinion of any sports writer nor do we care about what other teams or people think. We get better and better and yet people still won’t acknowledge us. I live in Texas currently and have to hear about the cowgirls all day everyday and thought that we have a better team or could even beat them is preponderous. We are not the flashiest team never have been but yet somehow we always end up in the mix. This team will continue to get better and again we will be in the mix. Continue to believe fellow broncoholics and at the end we will be the ones laughing just like always.

A team sport merits team awards – the running backs could win nothing without their offensive line, defence and special teams.
