The Denver Broncos have won the game on the first play of overtime.
Tim Tebow dropped back to pass and hit Demaryius Thomas wide open 18 yards over the middle. Thomas then broke to the right sideline and ran the rest of the way for the game-winning score.
Even though the Broncos got the ball first, because they scored a touchdown, the Steelers don’t have an opportunity to get the ball.
The Broncos improve to 4-0 in overtime this season, and will go to New England to play the Patriots next Saturday night.

I actually feel good about this rematch coming up. The Broncos will have a chip on their shoulder after having already lost once. Plus we are actually better on the road, it seems.

3 bad games in a row and it is easy to forget the 6 in a row before it. And then to come in off a losing streak and for Tebow to play as well as he did. AWESOME. I believe in the offseason they will work with him on footwork and progressions. In the meantime they just got to play to his strengths and believe in him like they did today. 29points, 316yds, 2 TD and 50 yds rushing, 1 TD against the BEST defense in the league. I would say he has promise. Haters will hate though. Everyone has an opinion.
My opinion? Tebow is the QB this team needs. Give him some more offensive weapons and this team can be real dangerous. Hell, we already are. We showed that today by knocking the 12-4 Steelers out of the playoffs.

One good game. thats awesome, and beating the steelers is awesome, but Tebow still has a long way to go to prove he is the long term answer at qb. if that one game is all you need to jump on and put all your eggs in one basket then you go right on ahead, but don’t tell me that because of one good game that suddenly tebow is this super qb, and all the people who questioned wether those pitiful performances were gonna be enough to get behind are somehow dumb. no way. Of course don’t think if tebow goes on a tear and becomes a great qb in the next year i wont then say “ya, i’m gonna eat crow for months” because i will. and i hope i do. I would love for tebow to be a great qb for us, and i’m not a ‘tebow hater’ like you so love to toss around. he’s a bronco and a good kid, and thats great with me. but i’ll go all day and night with you and you wont be able to show me he’s great yet. at all.
Lou, to be fair it is not like this is Tebow’s only good game he has had. He has not been consistent and has had some awful games, but he has had several good games as a pro. This one was his best though, and in the playoffs that is where his best needed to show up. He still shows a lot of promise as a QB. He is not polished yet, but with the right offensive pieces and coaching he can get there. I am guessing you probably find yourself to be a “realist” or a “pessimist” but there are some good things happening. We are still alive in the playoffs, and you should enjoy it. Because right now we have who we have. Feel free to hate Tebow in the offseason, but right now he is the QB for our Broncos, and all we can do is cheer him on and enjoy the ride.

But a few of us have really been behind Tebow, and have been defending him through everything and for him to play this well against the Steelers makes us want to jump up and say “Ha! Hate now! Hate now! What you gonna say now!?” and unfortunately you are one of the ones that had reservations about him, so you are going to catch all the backlash in this moment. But fear not, once carnage posts I am sure they will direct their attention his way. Nobody questions your love of the Broncos. yes, trb, people where claiming tebow as the greatest ever. have you seen some of this stuff about him? and criticizing him is not ‘bailing out’, its calling his play during bad games what it was and being critical of it. no one forgot the 6 wins, he didn’t play well at all during those games either. do you really think he had 6 really good games? thats not at all what i saw. i’ve seen one really good game from him. and that was tonight. other than that it was the team and other teams mistakes bailing his terrible play out long enough to make a play or two in the end of games. don’t give me this ’2nd year qb 13 game’ stuff, look at dalton, and newton, and jake locker. he has played terrible until today overall, and thats a fact. i don’t like that fact, but it is what it is.

I have described the Tebow effect over and over on the blog throughout the season! It is Mile High Magic! It is a beautiful thing! To me it is bigger than Tebow – and it explains far more than wins and losses. Tebow the man-child still has much that he can improve. Tebow the icon….has become as big as….Eric Liddell /1924 Olympics?!!!! (I need help with the description)
To me….there is no doubt that there is a Divine intervention. I have no idea what God wishes to accomplish…I doubt it is Super Bowl wins…I suspicion that it is precisely because Tebow honors God that God honors Tebow. It is likely, to my way of thinking, that as long as Tebow is using the platform earned in football to honor God and serve people….we, the Bronco faithful, will receive the added benefit of watching football greatness!!!
