September 2nd, 2010 - 4:09pm by Gabe Hiatt

The Broncos are less than three hours away from kickoff at The Mall of America Field at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome for their fourth and final game of the 2010 preseason.

The lights are on, but the stadium is devoid of fans. Members of both teams have taken the field to warm up with light stretching and exercises, and a pee-wee football team is going through their own calisthenics on the sideline.

3:35 p.m. CDT: Several Broncos are on the field in shirts and shorts. Eric Olsen is tossing a ball back-and-forth with Kyle McCarthy, and Lonie Paxton is long-snapping to Assistant Special Teams Coach Keith Burns. Ben Garland and Jeff Stehle are playing catch, and Stanley Daniels, D’Anthony Batiste and Seth Olsen are practicing their steps in pass protection.

3:45 p.m. CDT: Kevin Alexander and Nate Jones just joined Perrish Cox and Cassius Vaughn in the end zone for some stretching. Chris Baker is going through some agility drills while Baraka Atkins jogs around the field.

3:55 p.m. CDT: Kyle Orton is standing at the 40-yard line and and talking to Vikings quarterback Sage Rosenfels. Tim Tebow is warming up his arm with by throwing a series of passes to Britt Davis.

4:00 p.m. CDT: Britton Colquitt is getting his leg loose by kicking punts from the end zone to Cassius Vaughn on the 50-yard line. Matt Prater is kicking field goals short field goals into the opposite end zone. David Bruton is stretching near Colquitt, and Jabar Gaffney is out on the field. Davis is now running routes for Tebow.

4:05 p.m. CDT: Orton is chatting with Offensive Line Coach Clancy Barone as he warms up his shoulder by throwing passes to Brandon Lloyd. Lance Ball is sitting down and stretching with Alphonso Smith and Atkins.

4:10 p.m. CDT: Orton is throwing long passes to Gaffney in the end zone.

4:10 p.m. CDT: Brett Favre has made his way onto the field and is talking with Secondary Coach Ed Donatell, who held the defensive coordinator position in Green Bay when Favre was on the team.

4:25 p.m. CDT: Tebow just met up with Percy Harvin for a hug on the 50-yard line. Harvin was a big part of Tebow’s success at Florida.

4:45 p.m. CDT: The specialists have taken the field in full uniform. Nathan Overbay and Paxton are long snapping to Colquitt, who’s practicing holding for Prater. The Broncos are wearing white jerseys, and the Vikings are wearing purple.

5:00 p.m. CDT: The list of Broncos not expected to play tonight includes Elvis Dumervil, Andre’ Goodman, Daniel Graham, Russ Hochstein, Darcel McBath, Darrell Reid, Brandon Stokley, Demaryius Thomas and Jamal Williams. Ronald Fields will start at nose tackle, Perrish Cox at right cornerback, Stanley Daniels at left guard and Riar Geer at tight end. Ryan Clady is expected to start at left tackle.

5:13 p.m. CDT: The defensive backs, quarterbacks, receivers and tight ends just ran out of the tunnel. Knowshon Moreno, Corell Buckhalter, Lance Ball, and Spencer Larsen are in the end zone taking handoffs from Running Backs Coach Eric Studesville.

5:16 p.m. CDT: The rest of the team is now on the sideline, and all the players have congregated in one big huddle.

5:18 p.m. CDT: Strength and Conditioning Coach Rich Tuten is leading the team through a stretching routine.

5:28 p.m. CDT: Kyle Orton and Tim Tebow are working with receivers in the middle of the field while Brady Quinn works with tight ends and running backs.

5:38 p.m. CDT: The Broncos are headed back into the visitors locker room.

5:38 p.m. CDT: Due to technical difficulties we will not be posting blog photos from today’s game. Stay posted for a pregame photo gallery that will appear here at some point during the first quarter.

5:59 p.m. CDT: The Broncos are back on the field and the Vikings are about to run through a giant inflatable ship. Make sure to follow all the game action on the first half live blog coming shortly.

These game blogs still don’t allow me to post, comes out in a totally weird configuration and turn themselves off in a 5 seconds count down, frustrating, will have to post about the game later on when they are fixed or a new blog is up, and it has been like this for me every week with the game blogs, obviously some are posting so it works for them, but definitely not on my end, hopefully that can be resolved.

finally the blog seems to be back to normal, kept going dark and kept me from posting. Not sure yesterdays game cleared up much of the QB controversy, TT had some great passing stats there, and BQ had his best performance to date so not sure what McD is going to do, kept watching the game with my buds going “who’s that?” they thew everyone onto the field for that game some of them looked like they had some potential, guess we’ll just have to wait and see who takes the field against the Jags
    GO BRONCOS
