Broncos vs. Texans: Second Half Blog

December 26th, 2010 - 3:31pm by Gray Caldwell

KICKOFF: After deferring the coin toss, the Broncos will receive to start the second half.

Q3 15:00: Perrish Cox takes a knee in the end zone for a touchback to start the half. Tim Tebow and the offense take over at their own 20-yard line. On first down, Tebow pitches to Lance Ball, who pushes a defender the final 5 yards of his 15-yard gain. Texans defensive tackle Shaun Cody is down after the play, but he walks to the sideline under his own power.

Q3 14:46: On the ensuing first down, Tebow fakes a handoff then fires deep down the middle of the field to a streaking Jabar Gaffney, who runs under the pass and hauls it in at the 15-yard line. On the next play, Tebow hands off to Correll Buckhalter, who finds a hole in the middle of the line and picks up 9 yards. On second-and-1, Denver calls its first timeout of the half.

Q3 12:58: Buckhalter takes a carry on the next play and bursts forward for the final 6 yards into the end zone. Steven Hauschka’s extra point is up and in, and the Broncos are on the board.

TEXANS 17, BRONCOS 7

Q3 12:57: After Hauschka’s kickoff was downed for a touchback, Arian Foster takes a carry 10 yards for a first down at the 30.

*INJURY REPORT* Knowshon Moreno has a rib injury and is probable to return.

Q3 12:10: After an incompletion, Houston has a second-and-10 at the 30. Matt Schaub gets a screen pass off to Foster on a bit of a misdirection play, and the NFL’s leading rusher sprints down the sideline to the Denver 42. On the ensuing first down, Derrick Ward gets a carry, and he’s stopped after a gain of 3. On the next play, Schaub fires a pass that falls incomplete, but Champ Bailey ran into the intended receiver and hops off the field, apparently in pain, where trainers meet him. On third down, Schaub finds Owen Daniels, but he’s hit hard by Andre’ Goodman short of the first down. Neil Rackers is in to attempt a long field goal, and he splits the uprights on the 54-yarder.

TEXANS 20, BRONCOS 7

**INJURY UPDATE** Champ Bailey has an ankle injury and is questionable to return.

Q3 10:14: Tebow fires to his left and finds Brandon Lloyd for an 18-yard completion to the 38-yard line on first down. On the ensuing play, the rookie quarterback fakes a handoff before firing deep to Lloyd, who leaps up and over his defender — as he has done all season — and hauls in the long bomb at the 21-yard line. It’s a 41-yard reception.

Q3 8:37: Lance Ball takes a handoff on the next play, picking up 10 yards and another first down at the 11-yard line. Now first down again, Tebow is in the shotgun. He drops back and fires too far out of the back of the end zone. On second down, Ball gets another carry, and he’s dropped after a gain of 2. Now third-and-8 at the 9-yard line, Tebow lines up in the shotgun. He takes the snap and drops back quickly before firing too far — Eddie Royal hauls in the pass, but he was already out of the back of the end zone. Steven Hauschka is in to attempt a 27-yard field goal, and it’s good.

TEXANS 20, BRONCOS 10

Q3 7:06: Steve Slaton fields Hauschka’s kickoff a yard deep in the end zone and gets it out to the 20-yard line before he’s tackled by Eric Decker. Champ Bailey is not on the field as the defense steps in. On first down, Marcus Thomas is there to sniff out a screen pass to Owen Daniels after just 2 yards. On second down, Schaub finds Kevin Walter between a few defenders for a first down. Arian Foster finds the sideline on the following play, picking up another first down at the Houston 47-yard line. Marcus Thomas walks off the field flanked by trainers after the play.

Q3 5:21: Schaub finds Jacoby Jones for another first down on the next play — an 11-yard gain. Perrish Cox sprints into the backfield to take down Foster in space on the ensuing first down, making it second-and-11. Schaub floats a pass downfield that falls incomplete — but there’s a flag on the play. It’s pass interference on the Texans, pushing the ball back 10 yards. Now Houston faces at second-and-21 at their own 47-yard line. Schaub takes the snap, drops back and gets the ball to Derrick Ward just as Robert Ayers was about to notch a sack. The running back finds a little space and picks up 10 yards. On third-and-11, Schaub lines up in the shotgun. He drops back and connects with Joel Dreessen, but the tight end is short of the first down marker. Now Neil Rackers is in to attempt a 57-yard field goal, and it’s good — his new career long.

TEXANS 23, BRONCOS 10

Q3 2:34: Cox fields Rackers’ kickoff at about the 4-yard line, and returns it to the 26-yard line, where the offense takes over. Tebow lines up in the shotgun on first down and gets the ball to Ball on a screen pass. The running back sprints for a first down at the 39-yard line. On the next first down, Tebow fakes a handoff before rolling to his left and throwing a pass that is short of Lloyd and nearly intercepted, but it falls incomplete. On second down, Tebow hands off to Buckhalter, who finds some room and pushes defenders forward close to the first-down marker. The Broncos have a first down at their own 49. The following play is a handoff to Buckhalter in the backfield that was nearly broken up by Darryl Sharpton and results in a 4-yard loss to bring the third quarter to a close.

Q4 15:00: On second-and-14 to start the fourth quarter, Tebow avoids one sack but is brought down by a second Texan — Mark Anderson — for a loss of 8. There’s a flag on the field — holding on the defense. That’s a 5-yard penalty and automatic first down. So rather than third-and-22, the Broncos have a first-and-10 at midfield. On the following play, Tebow hands off to Buckhalter, but he’s stopped after a gain of 1. Second-and-9 brings a rollout by Tebow as he avoids pressure, but he throws short of Jabar Gaffney for an incompletion. Now third-and-9, Tebow buys time in the pocket before firing to Lloyd on the sideline for an 18-yard gain and a first down. Lloyd now has 1,360 receiving yards this season — the second highest total in franchise history.

Q4 12:58: Buckhalter takes a carry 7 yards to the 24-yard line on first down, and Houston calls timeout before the Broncos run their second-down play. Now second-and-3, Tebow takes a quarterback draw for the first down.

Q4 12:13: Tebow fumbles the snap on the following play, but recovers it for a loss of a yard. On second-and-11 at the 20, Tebow lines up in the shotgun. He drops back and tries to take off up the middle of the field, but he’s hit and sacked by two Texans. That makes it third-and-14 at the 23. Tebow fakes a screen to his right before spinning around and throwing a screen to Buckhalter down the left sideline. The running back follows his blockers then cuts back inside and sprints into the end zone for his second touchdown of the day. The 23-yard score is followed by Hauschka’s extra point, and the Broncos are within six points.

TEXANS 23, BRONCOS 17

Q4 10:55: Slaton fields Hauschka’s kickoff 7-yards deep in the end zone, and takes a knee for a touchback. Lee Robinson is down after the special teams play.

Q4 10:54: The crowd is making a lot of noise as the Texans start with a first down at the 20. Robert Ayers hit Matt Schaub hard as he let loose a pass intended for Owen Daniels that falls incomplete. On second down, Schaub finds Jacoby Jones for a quick first down at the 32. On the ensuing first down, Schaub hands off to Foster, who tries to find a hole but is swallowed up by a pack of Broncos let by Kevin Vickerson. It’s a gain of 2 on the run. Second down brings a pass from Schaub to Foster, who picks up the first down at the 45-yard line.

INJURY UPDATE: Lee Robinson has a hamstring injury and is doubtful to return.

Q4 8:45: Foster takes a carry on first down and picks up 3 yards. On second down, Schaub throws to Jones, but Goodman is there to swat the pass away. Now third-and-7, Schaub lines up under center. He takes the snap and fakes a handoff to Foster before firing short of any receiver — looks like some miscommunication there — to bring up fourth down. Defensive Coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale raised both hands in celebration on the sideline as Eddie Royal jogs onto the field to return Matt Turk’s punt. It’s a short punt that takes a Broncos bounce and is downed at the 24-yard line.

Q4 7:42: On first down, Tebow nearly finds Richard Quinn but the pass falls incomplete. On second-and-10, Buckhalter takes a carry but is swallowed up for no gain. Now third-and-10, Tebow lines up in the shotgun. He takes the snap and fires to Buckhalter, who takes advantage of a block by Eric Decker to pick up 22 yards on the reception for a first down at the Denver 46-yard line. Houston calls its second timeout of the half before Denver can run its next play.

Q4 6:08: On the ensuing first down, Tebow rolls out and fires deep to Gaffney, but the receiver can’t quite adjust to the pass toward the sideline and it falls incomplete. Second-and-10 brings a pass from Tebow to Lloyd, who hauls it in between two Texan defenders for a first down. At the Houston 39-yard line, Tebow takes the snap from under center and fakes a handoff before firing to Gaffney, who brings in the pass with one hand near the first-down marker, much to the delight of the crowd. On second-and-2, Buckhalter takes a carry for a first down at the 27-yard line.

Q4 4:08: On the ensuing first down, Tebow rolls to his left and no defender accounted for him so he takes off running downfield, picking up a first down at the 16-yard line. Denver calls its second timeout of the half.

Q4 4:00: On first down, Tebow takes the snap from the shotgun with an empty backfield. He takes off running on a quarterback draw and nearly breaks away, but he’s tripped up at the 10-yard line. On second-and-4, Tebow drops back and fires too high for Royal in the corner of the end zone, bringing up third down.

Q4 3:21: On third-and-4 at the 10, Tebow tries to find Royal in the end zone, but it falls incomplete — however, there’s a flag on the play in the end zone. It’s pass interference on the Texans, giving Denver a first-and-goal at the 1-yard line. Before the next play, however, the Broncos are called for a false start. The offense asks the crowd to quiet down before their first-and-goal play from the 6-yard line. Tebow takes the snap in the shotgun and throws too high for Royal incomplete. On second down, Tebow takes the snap and runs to his left for the touchdown. He flexes in the end zone as Daniel Graham celebrates with the rookie and the rest of his teammates rush to congratulate him. The score ties the game, and Hauschka’s extra point gives the Broncos their first lead of the game.

BRONCOS 24, TEXANS 23

Q4 3:02: Slaton runs out from 5 yards deep in the end zone only to be tackled at the 17-yard line. Schaub’s first-down pass looks to be tipped at the line before falling incomplete. It was Jamal Williams with the deflection. On second down, Schaub finds his tight end, Joel Dreeseen, for a first down at the 30-yard line. The crowd is back on its feet as Schaub drops back to throw on first down — and he finds another tight end, Owen Daniels, for another first down at the 45-yard line. The Texans hurry to the line and Schaub finds a tight end again — but Dawkins is there to make him fumble, but the ball goes out of bounds. The refs huddle, however, and decide that Owen Daniels never had control of the ball and it’s an incompletion. That brings the game to the two-minute warning, and you could hear Daniels exclaim, “I caught that!” in the ref’s microphone.

Q4 1:59: On second-and-10, the crowd at INVESCO Field at Mile High is fired up. Schaub takes the snap in the shotgun and finds his tight end again — Dreessen picks up another first down in Broncos territory. Schaub hits Foster on the following play, but Renaldo Hill is right there to bring down the back after a gain of just a yard. On second-and-9 at the 39-yard line, Schaub is in the shotgun. He takes the snap and throws a pass that is tipped at the line and is intercepted by Syd’Quan Thompson. His teammates mob him as he falls to the ground to give the Broncos offense the ball. It was Justin Bannan that tipped it.

Q4 1:12: Tebow takes a knee on first down and the Texans call their final timeout to stop the clock. Tebow simply takes two more knees to bring the game to a close and seal the rookie’s first win as a starting quarterback in the NFL. The win moves the Broncos to 4-11 with one final home game remaining in the season against the San Diego Chargers.

I feel a lot better about this team after this win,I know Houstons D sucks, but we did hold their potent Offense pretty good,Andre Johnson was out but so was Champ!

We just need a good HC and DC!

  2. strandoftds says:

oooops. BFE, I meant Buffalo. Bengals have a better division record than we do so they are #4 and we are #2 or 3 and possible coin flip with the Bills if we both end up losing next week. My bad.

  3. strandoftds says:

So do I. I feel like a Million bucks bro!

  4. BeastFromEast92 says:

    88,I couldn’t agree more bro!
I hope Luck stays in school,we need some D!!!!!!!!

  5. BeastFromEast92 says:

strand,I’ll check it out a little later after all the stats are in and post it if we are still #2 or not bro!

  6. BeastFromEast92 says:

I’m not going to worry about the draft right now, just enjoy a well deserved Bronco win,it’s been a long time coming!

  7. BeastFromEast92 says:

    Tebow 1-1.

  8. milehighmagic88 says:

By the way a bunch of us were on year last week talking about how the coaching staff needs to call some bootlegs to give Tebow a window to throw in and allow him to use his strengths, like throwing on the run. And what happened? They ran a bunch of bootlegs today and it really paid off. Sounds like the Broncos should listen to the fans more often. We’re pretty dang smart. lol

  9. strandoftds says:

Thanks bro. Also I`d love for Mike Singletary to come in as DC. That would be great. He`s so intense. Our D needs a kick in the arse after how they played this year. Singletary will straighten them all out thats for sure. No worrys there if he comes to Denver.

  10. strandoftds says:

I`m telling ya. Tebow is going to be QB for the Bronco`s for a long time. I`m not even concerned about it. The front office in Dove Valley just made there decision as of tonight. You bet!!!!

  11. milehighmagic88 says:

Oops. *were on HERE last week

  12. strandoftds says:

    YOU SAID IT 88!!

  13. BeastFromEast92 says:

The Broncos still own the #2 pick as of now! it’s posted on twitter!

  14. BeastFromEast92 says:

Yeah I could live with Kubiak as HC Dennison as OC,and Singletary as DC,along with Elway coming aboard!

  15. 1nOnlyTRB says:

    88

That was part of why they had a news article saying why Tebow and kubiak would be a perfect match….Because the old bronco way is play actions and bootlegs. When you have a guy like Tebow, Mobile, good passer on the run…you need to get him out on the bootlegs…so he can have space to work. The thing I like about Tebow way more than his potential and skills is that…I KNOW, we will probably never have a character issue or off the field issue with him. He is human and no one is perfect but he is a model citizen. Thats the kind of guy you need on your team but not just on your team, LEADING your team. A very important attribute at the QB spot. Great Leader, leads by example, fires up his team, and that his teammates trust will do whatever it takes to win…Even the Defense was feeding off that energy. We gotta build around Tebow…a staff that highlights his strengths…get some great D and this team can compete next year for playoff birth. Sure we are a 4-11 team but honestly with the right personel theres enough talent on this team and in next years draft to make us competitors…KC went from Garbage to DIV leaders in like a year….It is very possible. Been a while since Ive said this but…..GO BRONCOS!!!!!

  16. BeastFromEast92 says:

I’d say Kubes is as good as fired after today!

Official results of the score prediction contest

We have a solo winner this week, the first time he actually placed in this contest this year and he got pretty darn close so therefore can rule over all of us mere mortals for the week:

trigger73 23-20, only 4 points off, hats off to you buddy!

We have a three way tie for 2nd place, also real good close predictions:

    since1972 24-17, 6 points off

DenverOranges 24-17, same score, 6 points off

    1nOnlyTRB 27-20, also 6 points off

And a two way tie for 5th place:

    Crazyhorserider 31-21, 9 points off

camharland 27-17, 9 points off also

And unfortunately someone is making an entry onto the Wall of Shame this week as in every week, and the dubious award this week goes to:

stevecan2 21-44, he actually thought the Texans would beat us by 23 points, which is all they scored, shame on you Steve, LOL.

Well, next week is the last chance to move up in the overall standings of the contest, so don’t miss your chance to redeem yourself or stengthen your overall position, I know I will go all out to try to catch casinoroyal19 who is leading the competition right now.

  18. strandoftds says:

BFE, Now there`s a nice Christmas present by the Bronco`s. A big win and we`re still #2. YEEEEEEES!!!!!!

    1.We won!
    2.Tebow played great!
    3.The Defense played well!
4.We still have the #2 draft pick!
5.The Chargers are out of the playoffs!

Christmas was great and today matched Christmas!!

  24. BeastFromEast92 says:

I knew I picked just the right time to buy a Tebow jersey!haha.

  25. strandoftds says:

    Good call BFE.

  26. strandoftds says:

S.D. played like a bunch of schoolgirls today.

  27. strandoftds says:

What I saw today, there`s the potential for a good season for us next year. I`m not saying we`re going to the playoffs next year. What I am saying is that we got something good to build on. We need to start with the D first and foremost. Sign Prater, Harris, and trade Quinn, Bucky, and Orton. SIGN CHAMP!!!

  28. milehighmagic88 says:

Exactly TRB. I read that article too. That’s why I’m a big fan of the return to the Bronco Way, especially for our offense. Our personnel already seems to fit it much more than what McD and his staff tried to create. Not just Tebow, but guys like Moreno and Decker would be studs in the good old fashioned Broncos Way of doing things. Not only that, but guys like Royal, Clady, Harris, and Kuper have already excelled in that kind of system. So we have the pieces to return to that style immediately.

  29. gardenstatebroncofan says:

Ha great win so what it was against the second worst Pass D in the league.. Tebow played great Im not gonna say he is the future or whatever Thats up to the next coach…..but ill admit he showed me something today Not quite ready to get rid of 3600 yrd 20 td Orton on a team that couldnt run the ball….but not gonna care tonight..Well find out soon enough the future of our team….plenty of time for all the talk……so with 20″ of snow outside my front door and a state of emergency……Ill say goodnight and all i can say is……. ..Felt good just to be excited in the fourth quarter :)

  30. Broncos1592 says:

positive posts this week, who else loves it?

  31. 1nOnlyTRB says:

“I think he’s a born leader,” said Broncos running back Correll Buckhalter, who had two touchdowns, including catching Tebow’s scoring pass in the fourth quarter. “He has a lot of energy out there on the field and we’re going to rally behind him. As long as I’m here playing running back with him, I’m going to do everything I can to help put him in a position to win.”

  32. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Though he was upset over the Texans’ blown lead, Houston coach Gary Kubiak nevertheless said Tebow deserved credit for making it happen.

“I thought he threw the ball exceptionally well,” Kubiak said of the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner from Florida. “He is exactly what you thought coming out of college. He is a winner. He will find a way to make a play. He will find a way to move the chains. He found a way to win a game today and that is what this league is about.”

  33. calibronco15 says:

TEBOW ERA HAS BEGUN!!!!! WHO SAID WE WERE GONNA DRAFT LUCK THAT B.S ALL WE NEED TO WORRY TO ABOUT IS DEFENSE!!! I HOPE THIS ORGANIZATION MAKES GOOD DECISIONS THIS COMING DRAFT !!!

  34. strandoftds says:

    Mike Singletary fired by 49ers!

  35. BeastFromEast92 says:

I wished we would pickup Singletary for our DC,I know he’s got player issues, but he’s also got the fire in his eyes to lite up our Defense!IMO!

  36. Crazyhorserider says:

Congratulations to Eric Studesville for his first win as Head Coach, and a win at home to boot.

Eric means “Forever ruler or Forever King” so I wonder whether Eric will live up to his name.

And of course congratulations to Tim Tebow and the Broncos team for a well earned win. Thank you all for a lovely Christmas present.

  37. Crazyhorserider says:

Singletary was a beast of a player and so you may be right to push for him to be our defensive co-ordinator. I think he could do well.

As for all of the predictions I am just pleased that my win prediction was right as I am always worried that predicting a win is tempting fate.

For all those predicting a loss, I am glad you were wrong, particularly since we are still in a good draft position.

  38. milehighmagic88 says:

Did anyone else watch the BroncosTV postgame report? In that video I saw Rod Smith cheering his head off on the sidelines after the Thompson interception and it made me smile big time! Rod Smith reminds me of the good ol’ days in Denver and the way Tebow played today kind of felt like those same good ol’ days. I feel like great things are ahead for the hungry Broncos fan base. So let’s hang in there. This franchise is too proud too be at the bottom for very long!

I know I sound sappy right now, but these are the kind of games that make me proud to be a Broncos fan. I just wish they would happen more often. But maybe, just maybe, we found the guy who can finally deliver for us.

    Game ball for Tim Tebow!

  39. milehighmagic88 says:

    Crazy,

I’m glad I was wrong about predicting a loss, too. This kind of win makes it worth it to say I was wrong.

  40. broncos504 says:

i hope we beat the chargers lol
then tim tebow will on top of the world

  41. Yovi21 says:

Well, Tebow defiantly improved from last week, and thats all I wanted. IDK if he could’ve played at this level in the beginning of the season, but if he could (and started) I think he would have been the ROTY for sure! 2 passing TD’s 2 rushing TD’s over 100 yards rushing and 450 passing IN HIS FIRST TWO GAMES!!!…Who said Tebow couldn’t make it in the NFL? I’m pretty sure this is a broken system too!

  42. broncosfreak30 says:

    WOW!!!

What an amazing day!! I really believe that today was Christmas instead of yesterday!!! First off, the Chargers got beat by the pathetic Bengals and they weren’t even playing TO or Ocho!!! How pathetic! Secondly, we came back when we were down 17-0 in the first half and our defense still played like absolute crap!!! Btw, whoever said that Champ was out, he got hurt in the game I believe in the 4th quarter so he was still basically in the whole game!!

Our run defense has definitely proved that it is our biggest need on the whole entire team!! Our offensive line also blew and our defensive backs, I believe, could have done a lot better!!

TIMMY TEBOW!!! WOW!! Just his second start in the NFL and has already had his 300 yard passing game!! How amazing!! And the comeback that he perfected!! I just still can’t believe this game!! I was wanting us to lose with the draft and all and then I saw that Detroit won and the Bengals were killing the Chargers so I was craving for a win!! Tebow has definitely proved to me this game that he is going to be huge in the NFL and his duel threat is just as dangerous as Steve Young! He showed amazing accuracy out there today and also had amazing awareness and decided when to run the ball!! If our offensive line would’ve stepped up then he probably could have done better rushing!! Tebow definitely gets the game ball but the other guy that stepped up big time that surprised me a lot was Bucky Buck!!! I was thinking about trading him and getting a draft pick but I don’t know all about that now!! He and Tebow definitely hooked up on some plays and connected great!! Also, I loved how Tebow gave Lloyd perfect balls to go up and fight for them!! Everything about this game on offense was just awesome! Sucks that Tebow threw an interception but that was his first and he is going to make mistakes and it is better to learn now then later!!

Thing is that I was thinking, if Luck doesn’t enter the draft, then who in the world do you think that the Panthers will get??? If they get Bowers then I would love to take Peterson and then DL and DE in the second! And also get Rudolph in the 2nd!!

Hey strand…Just think if McD would’ve played Tebow when we played the Rams then we could have seen a performance like tonight only 20 foot away!!! Tebow is definitely our QB of the future and if anyone else has doubts, then I do not want to hear them anymore!! Might as well just say that Elway, Young, and Montana sucked as well!! :)

I LOVE ME SOME BEAUTIFUL BRONCOS COUNTRY!!!

  43. broncos20 says:

what a way to end christmas! :D thank you Tim Tebow!!!

Rivers has his days numbered.. He wont have Cutler to trash talk and cry back and forth with..aha.
what would a dialogue b/w Rivers and Bow?

Rivers: Get ready to eat dirt loser,
Bow: Bless your soul, i will destoy you, you will burn..

aha, what a great day! Chargers not making playoffs..

  44. monodono says:

What a Great Win! and on the day after Tebow’s birthday, Awesome!

  45. raidrhadr says:

    Singletary as DC!!!!

  46. monodono says:

    Denver Post Sports
Here’s a little nugget from Woody Paige this morning: The Broncos are planning to bring back the orange jerseys full time in 2012. (The league has to be notified of a uniform change by March, so it’s too late for 2011.) Are you a fan of the orange jerseys?

  47. raidrhadr says:

monodono: As an old school Bronco fan you know I want the Orange back and orange Sunday should be when the raiders come to town.

  48. baylinorcrush says:

Yes, the most wonderful thing about this Christmas is that despite the win we are still the #2 pick in the draft because the Bengals and Detroit won, but I would put out here an intense word of caution, if we win next week we could be bunched up with no less than 7 teams currently with 5 wins, meaning depending on the strength of schedule of all those teams, one win could mean a gigantic fall in the draft order, just warning everyone is all.

Maybe we outta start Quinn to see if he can be worthy of back up next year, because one thing for certain is Tebow will play lights out in every single game to win and I’m afraid he can basically defeat the Chargers all by himself considering they just got thrown out of the race and will have to rebound to play for nothing. Anyway just saying Sunday’s game has huge draft ramifications.

  49. baylinorcrush says:

Orange jerseys was the news following the Jets game which brought up all those incredibly long signing petition for the return of the orange jerseys, it has been long inevitable that the management will make the switch request before the March deadline, surprised to see that Woody couldn’t come up with something more up to date after this kind of game….

  50. baylinorcrush says:

Anyway, about the game, I was absolutely livid after the first half, an absolute disgrace. Tebow made one single good pass from the pocket the entire half and a couple nice ones on roll outs, and other than that McCoy completely cuffed him up the entire half with screen plays, most of them not even disguised, disgusting. Plus that Tebow pass in the end zone to LLoyd was in front of him down and low, exactly where the defender was, a horrible pass.

Add to that an absolute worthless Moreno other than one nice run for a first down and the fact that once again he comes out of the game with yet another injury of some sort on a play where it looked like there was hardly any contact or whatever, and to top it off he chose to dance again, disgusting.

Richrad Quinn actually got penalized pushing a defender in the back on a running play directly INTO Moreno!!! Absolutely embarrassing.

The D was horrible as well, just take a look at that missed “tackle” of Woodyard on the sidelines deep in our end on a play that started them on a long scoring drive, it was absolutely pathetic.

Haggan is now the leading tackler on this team with some 70 some tackles, so where does that leave DJ who some here still claim he is great, he used to have easily over 100 tackles EVERY year. What a downfall for DJ, we outta find someone else to use on pass coverage, my gosh he always gets beat!

And of course the opposite team still racked up monster gains on the ground against our D… There was absolutely no upside to this first half except for us stopping them to a field goal right before the half, and the loud boos in Invesco let the team know it and rightly so, I was throughly embarrassed by that display that lead to a 0-17 score.

And to top it all off, at the end of the first half there was some 50 seconds on the clock which we allowed Houston to run down all the way to 26 seconds before they took that FG, and we had THREE TIME OUTS!!!! So we then took the field, basically ran the clock out with a meaningless play and went to the locker room with three time outs left on the scoreboard to utterly complete the embarrasment that this first half provided me.

I thought I couldn’t start lauding Tebow and the game before I got that first half of my chest, it was horrible. Fair and Balanced…. The good stuff will come up soon, if not here maybe on the Cooper blog?
