Broncos vs. Seahawks: Pregame Blog

August 27th, 2011 - 4:58pm by Max Henson

Several Broncos and Seahwaks are on the field warming up as we get ready for week three of the preseason.

Quarterback Tim Tebow was out nice and early to get some throws in and he is now chatting with Seahawks Head Coach Pete Carroll.

It looks like the Broncos will be wearing their home blue uniforms tonight with white pants.

New father Kyle Orton is out on the field taking some throws along with Adam Weber.

Brady Quinn is playing some catch with tight end Dan Gronkowski.

5:04 p.m. MDT: The Broncos’ flag guys are warming up now as the quarterbacks and wide receivers run through some routes.

5:09 p.m. MDT: Team photographer Erik Bakke is down on the field getting some shots of the players stretching. We’ll have some photos in the blog and in the pregame gallery before kickoff.

5:16 p.m. MDT: Quarterbacks are rotating throwing deep balls to the end zone from the 45-yard line.

5:26 p.m. MDT: Brandon Lloyd is working on some one-handed and over-the-shoulder catches with Quarterbacks Coach Adam Gase. Gase coached the wide receviers last year.

5:34 p.m. MDT: Director of Player Development Jerry Butler and his intern — Ebenezer Ekuban — are chatting on the field. Click their names to read more about them on DenverBroncos.com

5:40 p.m. MDT: The field has cleared out for the most part, but punter Britton Colquitt is getting some punts in at midfield.

5:50 p.m. MDT: Kcikers Matt Prater and Steven Hauschka are taking some short-range attempts.

Here are some photos from warm-ups:

6:05 p.m. MDT: Various position groups are making their way out of the tunnel in full uniform now for some more warm-ups. The Broncos are, in fact, wearing blue with white pants. Seattle is in all white.

6:05 p.m. MDT: RBs Lance Ball and Jeremiah Johnson are spending some time perfecting a new hand-shake. Al four QBs are getting some throws in with the WRs near the sideline.

6:12 p.m. MDT: Here are the players not in pads tonight for the Broncos: David Bruton, M. Thomas, D. Thomas and Ty Warren.

6:13 p.m. MDT: Here are the players not in pads tonight for the Seahawks: Deon Butler, Kelly Jennings, Marshawn Lynch, Kam Chancellor, Roy Lewis, David Hawthorne, Dexter Davis, Russel Okung, Cameron Morrah, John Carlson, Colin Cole and Pierre Allen.

6:17 p.m. MDT: Knowshon Moreno is putting on a show at midfield with some dance moves to “Cupid Shuffle”. The RB sprinted out of the tunnel and took center-stage. He and the other RBs are catching some balls now.

6:20 p.m. MDT: All of the Broncos and Seahawks have now made their way onto the field. The Seahawks are in a team huddle right now.

6:22 p.m. MDT: Brian Dawkins is now leading the Broncos huddle pumping the team up.

6:25 p.m. MDT: The players have now split up into their respective position groups for some drills.

6:35 p.m. MDT: The Broncos are now doing some 11-on-11 work. The Seahawks are doing the same on the other side of the field.

Man oh man I love the third preseason game. We are gonna see a lot of starters for a long time. Kinda know what the o brings but wanna see what we’ve got on d. Can we stop the run? Is the pass rush we’ve seen so far for real? Is Cassius Vaughn gonna keep impressing? Can dawk keep up? How about the MLB position? Can’t wait to see. Gonna have to wait til tomorrow tho cuz imma watch it on NFL network in the am.

    Go Kyle!!!!

  5. baylinorcrush says:

Go Brady! Thought I would even things out, LOL.

Will have to watch it at 1 am central time too, not too long a delay, I’m cool with it.

  6. baylinorcrush says:

Actually I wouldn’t be too surprised if Quinn doesn’t even play tonight because with Orton there into the third and Fox wanting to give extra reps to you-know-who it will be hard to have a third QB in there, it wouldn’t make much sense.

  7. baylinorcrush says:

Broncos coach John Fox hinted Wednesday that backup quarterback Tim Tebow would get more reps than Brady Quinn, the team’s other backup, in at least one of the final two preseason games.

Quinn, the No. 2 quarterback, played well in the Broncos’ 24-10 preseason victory Saturday over Buffalo. Starting quarterback Kyle Orton figures to play at least one series into the second half Saturday night in the Broncos’ preseason game against Seattle at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.

Orton probably won’t play in the Broncos’ final preseason game next Thursday at Arizona. Whether Quinn or Tebow starts in that game, Tebow is expected to get the lion’s share of the playing time.

“Kyle has had 19 passes, Brady’s had 30 and Tim’s had nine,” Fox said about the preseason totals to date. “So in fairness to Tim, we need to get that total up whether that’s this week or next week.”

  8. CurtOU says:

    Go Adam!! Now its even.

  9. baylinorcrush says:

Personally, and not that matters at all obviously, I would do Orton til mid third and Tebow finshing the game and next wekk Quinn for the first half, Tebow in the third and Weber in the fourth, that way Tebow gets his reps and

  10. baylinorcrush says:

… Quinn is as ready as he can for the backup role in regular season.

  11. baylinorcrush says:

And Weber shows what he can do.

But that’s in my perfect world, haha, always different from the coaches….
