Broncos vs. Raiders: Pregame Blog

October 24th, 2010 - 11:32am by Gray Caldwell

The first AFC West game of the season is upon us, and the field is relatively empty a little less than three hours until kickoff. A handful of Raiders are jogging around the sidelines, but the only Bronco on the field at the moment is Lonie Paxton.

A quick note on divisional openers — the Broncos have won their last 10. Four of those 10 came against Oakland, with the Broncos winning by a combined score of 120-61.

12:17 p.m. MDT: Tim Tebow is talking with former Florida teammate Louis Murphy at midfield right now — meanwhile, fellow former Gator Riley Cooper just scored a touchdown for the Eagles, and it’s being shown on the big screen.

12:42 p.m. MDT: Eddie Royal is on the field catching passes from Wide Receivers Coach Adam Gase. Royal is listed as questionable for the game.

Royal is the only player remaining on the field, just about an hour and 20 minutes prior to kickoff. Fans are starting to file into their seats.

12:56 p.m. MDT: Just received the Broncos’ inactives: Brian Dawkins, Andre’ Goodman, Darcel McBath, Robert Ayers, Wesley Woodyard, Eric Olsen and Chris Clark will not suit up for today’s game. Brady Quinn is the third quarterback.

For the Raiders, Bruce Gradkowski will be the third quarterback — reports are that Jason Campbell will get the start. Walter McFadden, Jeremy Ware, Travis Goethel, Thomas Howard, John Henderson, Chaz Schilens and Brandon Myers are inactive.

1:07 p.m. MDT: Here are some photos of pregame warmups, courtesy of Gabe Hiatt.

1:19 p.m. MDT: The entire Raiders team is on the field, players donning their white jerseys and silver pants. Matt Prater, Paxton and Britton Colquitt are on the field along with Perrish Cox, Syd’Quan Thompson, Eric Decker, Demaryius Thomas, Cassius Vaughn and Spencer Larsen. The Broncos will be wearing their customary blue home jerseys with white pants.

1:30 p.m. MDT: Two of the three Broncos listed as questionable for today’s game are on the field in full uniform — Royal and Champ Bailey. No sign of Kevin Vickerson yet, but the linemen haven’t made their way onto the field yet.

1:33 p.m. MDT: The whole team just met for a huddle outside the tunnel — it’s Mario Haggan getting the group hyped up this afternoon — and Knowshon Moreno led a sprint to the end zone for warmups. And there’s Kevin Vickerson in full uniform — so all three questionable players are at least suited up for today’s game.

1:50 p.m. MDT: Both clubs have made their way off the field as Thunder is trotting along the sideline. We’re just about 25 minutes away from kickoff.

1:56 p.m. MDT: The Junior Denver Broncos Cheerleaders are dancing on the field along with four mascots — Miles, and the mascots for the Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars and Buffalo Bills. They’re here as part of the halftime entertainment — a mascot football game against youth football players. Now the Thunderstorm Jumpers are parachuting onto the field and the National Anthem is up next. See you in the First Half Blog.

Just watching the Dolphins game right now……….man, BMarsh can’t be happy in Miami. Henne is AWEFUL and can’t throw the ball to save his life. Yeah, Marshall got paid, but he’ll be miserable there and his true colours will shine through again soon. What a waste of a talent there though.

  3. marshisboss says:

Agreed killerkod but Cutler can’t be happy behind that O-Line either
