Just found this article on the Denver Post & had to share- lol

The NFL is a funny place, isn’t it?

The three quarterbacks on the Broncos roster in 2011 are now all backups elsewhere: Kyle Orton in Dallas; Tim Tebow with the New York Jets; and Brandy Quinn in Kansas City.

All three are suddenly (or, in the case of Tebow, not-so-suddenly) the most popular man in their respective towns, as Tony Romo, Mark Sanchez and Matt Cassel have all struggled of late. Romo, the Cowboys’ starter, threw five interceptions in Dallas’ Monday Night Football loss to the Chicago Bears ….. who were led by another former Broncos quarterback, Jay Cutler. Orton came in for the final series and led the Cowboys to garbage-time touchdown.

In New York, meanwhile, the cries for Tebow are growing louder by the hour, especially after the Jets’ offense failed to score any points last week against San Francisco.

And finally, in Kansas City, coach Romeo Crennel has said Quinn will be allowed to take some first-team snaps at practice, opening the door for playing time in a game.

So, back to my question: Which of those three former Broncos ends up the starter on his new team first: Orton, Tebow or Quinn?

    Lindsay Jones

  2. baylinorcrush says:

Well Lindsay, the reality of it is neither of these ex Broncos QBs will make any long term difference to any of these three teams. That’s why each one of them is no longer a Bronco.

Quinn the most under performing under pressure of the three, only good in meaningless preseason games catching the dear caught in a headlight syndrome just about each times the chips are down.

Orton, the cigar shop wooden Indian statue in the pocket with the sign “do not touch or it will keel over” on it. Probably most inefficient QB ever inside the 20s and in the fourth quarters.

Tebow, a great motivator, fantastic missionary, but holding onto his NFL career as a QB by a prayer. Fantastic season last year which I truly loved but all built on pure adrenaline that had nothing to do with organized football, kind of like opposite of what Manning does, orchestrating drives out of set plays, where Tim only succeeded in plays ran out of helter skelter when all set plays failed. Exciting for sure but no insurance for long term success. You just have to watch Romo last night to see where helter skelter plays get you eventually, you do need to be able to perform with designed plays in order to consistently succeed in this league.

Glad all three are gone, good luck to KC, Dallas and the Jets, haha.

Knowson a healthy scratch for the second week in a row… Is He in the doghouse or just asshurt the TEAM has chosen Ball over him?

  4. Boss champ says:

Is it me or do we need a new punt returner cause little jimmy ain’t cutting it . Lol

  5. S.D.Bronco30 says:

I think Moreno is done in Denver

  6. killerkod says:

They’re just keeping him for depth. I don’t expect anyone actually wanting to trade for him at this point as he hasn’t shown anything. Plus, he’s so cheap right now, why not just hold onto him for the year. RB is a position where you can never have enough depth.

  7. baylinorcrush says:

    MORENO MORE-NO, NO MORE MORENO!

  8. brian_schneider says:

@baylinorcrush: Don’t get me wrong, I love reading your posts again, but I thought you hung up the keyboard? I’m sure you already answered several questions previous but just curious if you’re back-back or just checking in and making sure we’re bloggin’ nice? Anyhow, good to read your post again and nice hearing from you.

Nice seeing the actual percentage of player’s playing time. The biggest thing to me isn’t how much they play, but what and how they play when they’re in. It goes back to something I said previously, I’d rather have a guy that rushes the ball 10 times for 40 yards and 2 TDs than a guy that rushed the ball 20 times for 100 yards and 0 TDs. The key is productivity AND points!

I’ve been relatively happy so far with the balance of productivity and points. I think this week’s game will be one that definitely needs both. We all saw what happens when Brady gets zoned in. Like always against the Pats the key is pressuring Brady and limiting the big plays. This game could be one of the most viewed this weekend. Brady…Manning…pitted against each other again on the field of battle..to the death..or at least the end of regulation..and if need be..OT! haha

  9. baylinorcrush says:

Brian, I just get on once a while for fun but have totally given up on the 24/7 involvement since it was killing me and became no fun at all. So still fully retired but with benefits, LOL.

  10. wolfedom says:

Bay I for one enjoy seeing you post again. Just wish you would do the news and break down the game as in the old days. I miss having my coffee and reading the posts in the morning. Good to see you around.

  11. baylinorcrush says:

Glad you enjoyed it wolfedom, but nothing can last forever, it just wore me down, it was too much work, specially for no pay, LOL.
