15:00: The Raiders have a first-and-10 at the Denver 30-yard line. JaMarcus Russell drops back and lofts a pass to Darren McFadden who was streaking down the sideline. His legs got tangled up with Marquand Manuel’s and both players fell down. A flag is thrown and pass interference is called on Manuel. It’s a first-and-goal for the Raiders at the six-yard line.
14:54: Justin Fargas takes the handoff two yards before being brought down by Marcus Thomas. That brings up second-and-goal from the four-yard line, and Russell fakes a handoff before finding Ashley Lelie in the middle of the end zone for a touchdown.
The Sebastian Janikowski extra point is good, and the Raiders’ lead over the Broncos is extended to 24-10.
14:08: Royal is back deep to receive. The kick goes out of the back of the end zone, and the Broncos offense sets up at the 20-yard line. Cutler takes the snap out of the shotgun formation and gets the ball to a diving Tony Scheffler, who hauls it in as he falls out of bounds for an 18-yard gain.
Oakland Head Coach Tom Cable throws out the challenge flag, however, and the play will be reviewed.
The play is overturned — Scheffler apparently had his right foot in bounds but his left hand touched out of bounds before his other foot came down. Second-and-10 for Denver at its own 20.
14:03: Cutler is lined up in the shotgun with four receivers out wide. He takes the snap and gets it to Brandon Stokley, who picks up two yards before being dragged down.
Third-and-8 from their own 22 for the Broncos. Cutler is in shotgun with four receivers again, and he throws an interception to the left sideline. Thomas Howard comes away with it and runs out of bounds. The Raiders take over at the Denver 43.
On the first play after the interception, Justin Fargas takes the hand off and scampers 21 yards to the Denver 22. On the next play he follows it up with a four-yard gain, setting up second-and-6 for Oakland.
12:14: Fargas is stopped for no gain on second down, but on third down he grabs nine yards and sets Oakland up with a first-and-goal from the nine-yard line. He proceeds to take another carry up the left side for a three-yard gain on first down.
10:30: On second-and-goal, the crowd is getting into it, but Darren McFadden takes a carry, fights his way up the left sideline and gets knocked out of bounds by Roderick Rogers at the one-yard line just before stretching the ball out over the pylon.
That sets up third-and-goal at the one-yard line for Oakland. The INVESCO Field faithful are on their feet, but McFadden plows up the middle into the end zone for the fourth Raiders touchdown of the day. The Janikowski extra point is good, and Oakland leads the Broncos by 21 points, 31-10.
9:09: After a one-yard loss on a Peyton Hillis run and an incomplete pass to Brandon Stokley, Brandon Marshall catches a Cutler pass on third-and-11, turns around and sprints his way for some extra yardage, getting a first down and putting the Broncos in Raiders territory.
Hillis takes the first-down carry for 12 yards, setting up another first down at the Oakland 37-yard line.
8:04: After an incomplete pass on first down, the Broncos are called for an illegal motion on second down, setting up second-and-15 at the Oakland 42. Cutler throws the ball over Marshall’s head and out of bounds, setting up third-and-15.
7:43: Cutler is in the shotgun and hands off to Hillis on a draw play. The crowd is showing some displeasure as the Broncos are left with a fourth-and-10.
Cutler completes the pass to Marshall for a first down, but there’s a flag on the play. There are two fouls on the play — holding on the defense, and a personal foul chop block on the offense. The penalties offset, and the offense will replay fourth down.
6:52: This time around the pass falls incomplete, intended for Marshall. Stokley sprints over to the referee to argue for a penalty, but no flag is thrown. The Raiders take over at their own 37-yard line.
6:29: On first down, Fargas picks up two yards, and Spencer Larsen is shaken up on the play. He’s helped off the field, and Fargas picks up five yards on second down. On third down, Russell bootlegs to his right and gets a first down before being touched down by Marquand Manuel.
Play is stopped because there’s a Bronco down on the field — I can’t tell who it is yet. Looks like it was Josh Shaw, and he walks off the field flanked by trainers.
3:50: It’s second-and-3 for the Raiders and they pick up one yard on a run by McFadden.
On third-and-1, McFaden bursts forward for the first down before being brought down after five yards by Marcus Thomas.
2:20: Fargas takes the carry on first down, geting close to the marker. It is a first down as the clock winds down to the two minute warning.
2:00: Russell takes two knees to close out the game.
The Oakland Raiders come away with the three-touchdown victory, 31-10. The Broncos move to 6-5 with the loss. Next week the team travels to New York to face the Jets.

just like every other week, we provide the boost too our opponents’ offensive stats.
the faiders last offensive TD was in week 2 and we can’t stop them from running up and down the field.
That’s beyond sad, the faiders letting up on us at Mile High because they’re ahead by 21 points.
There’s not enough whisky in the world to make that pain go away.
Getting Champ back is all fine and dandy but he’s only one person! We have much bigger issues on that D.
it wasn’t just the defense that lost the game, they made some stops at the beginning of the game when the offense wasnt scoring. the raiders were just more ready to play and they wanted it more. and russel isn’t even in the top 15 of qbs in the league i mean most of his completions were short throws cause we always have to play off, that is why we have safties is to cover over the top, i don’t care what anyone else says but we do need to get rid of dre bly he is a joke. and no one can say its cause he plays opposite of champ because that means he should be going agianst the second best reciver on the other team and we all know that most teams don’t have too great recivers.
bullridinmike27 you are right Bly’ is a joke and far from a shut down corner!
but getting champ back would mean we would stop the other teams best reciver, hense ashley lelie, and our rookie linebackeers haven’t played that bad at all, sure they will make mistakes but they have had less mistakes then boos bailey and nate webster
just having a saftey some what like atwater or like lynch would be a great plus for the team
if the team spouts the same crappy platitudes about not turning the ball over and needing to execute that we hear every week, while wearing their $4,000,00 suits and designer sunglasses, I’m going to scream.
Bowlen needs to go into the locker room and start slapping some guys around, starting with Shanny and the rest of the coaches. If they can’t actually come to play AT HOME against the faiders, they should all be fired.
I hate it when we lose, but it’s unbearable when we don’t even come out to play.
Our Team is too inconsistent this year. C’mon we couldn’t even defend our home turf vs. the lowly Raiders ??? Our defense made them look like a stellar offensive unit. I’m truly disappointed in our coaching preparation… this was pathetic. Oh well there’s always next week.
one thing to remeber is the d kept michael turner to around 80 yards and two touchdowns but the carolina panthers have given up over a hundred yards and count them four touchdowns
There’s always next week huh?! Well I’m scarfed of next week bc we are playing a much better team than the faiders!
SUCKS!!!!What can I say that you all hav’nt already said. Pathetic, ugly, disgusting, the most quit I’ve seen in a Bronco team in my 47 years of watching. The ’77 Orange Crush are rolling over in their figurative graves right now. And you knew it after the Cutler interception, even though the puke Raiders have been come back on. 17 points in the 4th
against the Chargers, another 14 4th quarter lead. But noooo!! Our D simply QUIT!!!!
next week, next year, were beginning to sound like vikings fans and thats about as bad as it gets
This was just heartbreaking. So frustrating and disappointing that we lost another game but we lost to the raiders. I don’t know what was going on out there but that was most definitely not the team I know, I grew up watching and love. I’m just in shock that we did so badly.
Now here you all go again…. gonna staring putting all the blame in one spot. Just amazes me alot of you do this. This loss was the fault of every single person down on that field (on the field or on the sidelines). Every Bronco coach and player had a part in this game which makes this a TEAM loss. Not Cutlers loss, not Bly’s loss, not Shanahan’s loss… but a TEAM loss. Believe whatever you want but you’re misleading yourself if you believe or put this loss all on one person’s shoulders. It doesn’t work like that. It takes a TEAM to win and a TEAM to lose… end of story.
Again, even in our most ugliest times… I have always had faith, I still have faith and I will always have faith that someday this team will get out of this losing shadow and get it right. Miracles like the one we need will not happen overnight but we might just walk away with a miracle against the Jets. No one knows how good or bad we’ll be in that game till it happens. And I am seeing the reality of what’s happening… we have some MAJOR things to work on, that’s been obvious since the beginning of the season. If we could beat a team like Atlanta at their home in the condition we were there is most definitely hope for a win against a team like the Jets. We can win any game we want but it takes a TEAM to do it.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
Well as much as I’m PISSED about todays outcome. I’m still gonna wear my Broncos gear to the Packers – Saints game tom. nite!
we really need to get more pressure on the qb and get more interceptions cause what do we have like 3 or 4 inter’s this year that is sad
Caramelloo: next week meaning maybe we’ll bounce back…
royalbroncofan1 I surely hope you’re right bc the V-E-T-S made the Titans powerful Deffense look like Puppies today.
i am not putting the blame on anyone person i know it is a team effort, and all of you say we really aren’t consitent actually we are let me tell you how in some positive and negative ways, postive our offensive line has played the best out of anyone on the team, negatives bly’s play hasn’t been good all year and all of last year, we don’t get turnovers, we give tunovers, and we don’t get that much pressure on the qb, and after all those problems we still are in first place with 6 wins. and we may not even have to worry about indy or even maybe the pats making the playoffs it all depends on how the rest of the year turns out
so over all doesn’t it seem like the nfl is down from last year or more balanced
Let’s hope Farve has one of his 3-4 interception games like he did in Denver several years ago with the Packers. Yes remember, this is one of Shanny’s youngest teams ever. Plus the injuries. Look out in the future. The good news from this game…Cable (a bad coach) just solidified his job in Pukeland b/c you know the cript keeper loves any coach that can beat the Broncs. IE The Faiders stay bad for awhile longer.
I sincerely hate to say this, but I have put this off enough. Something has to be done about this team. Starting with the defense. And it’s not the players either. Year after year we have not had a good defensive coordinator and we have been let down as fans for the last who-knows how many years. This defense is very, very bad. Pretty much the laughing stock of the NFL defensively. And something else, why can’t Denver either be really hot, or really not. Why does it have to be this mediocracy every year. Nothing ever gets done about it when this happens. I don’t think Shanahan is the problem either. But this defense is insanely BAD and it just gets so frustrating after a while and I start to just not care to follow the team anymore.
I dont even know what to say. why does this happen every time we play a sub-par team. now we have to go to ny jets this week and play the hottest team in the nfl. scary huh? who is to blame for these big time let downs? ……… i would have to say the coaching staff. we need to be up for every game cause there are no gimmes. we played kc and oak the same way – half hearted with a poor game plan. what do you guys think?
Either get something going or get out. The leader of the AFC West is the Broncos!!! Bad div. this yr.
I know that I’m very disappointed and we all are !!!!!!!! We do have to play the Jets, who today had a great win over the mighty Titans. We seem to play down the the level of our opponent and I was thinking that hopefully we’ll be up for the stiff competition we will face next week… thus reinforcing the play of INCONSISTENCY this year. It was great to see our Team win two tough road games, yet to come home and lay down to a Team that’s going nowhere this year…. a hard pill to swallow.
I hope farve has one of his mistake prone games as well. I also hope that our special teams is ready to play as well bc washington is a special teams beast! We need a new strength and condition coach for sure!
we need to play all our games on the road because we just wont play at home we need a powerful running back this team today was lackluster from the outset we need more practice and better play calling on offense we our to easy to read i like the players but we need a different offensive cordinator. no pressure all day by the defense what a mess we have in denver.
C2,
You are definitely on track, the coaches and staff completely failed to prepare for this game. That was obvious early on with the play calling, stupid use of time outs, and the decision to settle for a field goal attempt before the half. They may as well have sent an apology to the raiders for making them come to Denver to pad their stats — and find a way to score a TD on offense.
That being said, the defense (yes, they’re young and suffering from lots of injuries) has simply got to learn to tackle. And it would be nice if we could put just a little pressure on the QB. ONE incompletion in a game would be extraordinary for guys like Manning, Favre, Elway and other good QBs. Letting jamarcuss get away with that is unbelievable.
Special Teams: to say this performance is unacceptable is not enough, but it was too pathetic to put into words at this point.
The offense needs some focus on play calling and not forcing itself into the position of 3rd and long. Sure, we have made lots of those, but why make the game harder than it is? Yes, we have a huge number of injuries, but we also have plenty of weapons; we just failed to use them effectively today. Our receivers should not drop balls that hit them in the hands and yet they do.
The entire team just fell flat today. Whether it was due to arrogance, lack of preparation or whatever, they got beat on both sides of the ball. That they got beaten by the sad sack faiders is just an amazingly offensive statement about how little heart and/or fight is in this team.
For this team to go more than about 8 minutes in the playoffs (assuming SD loses tonight and we find a way to win a few more games) they are going to have to play with more fire than they showed today.
please watch the language guys you’re scorching my virgin ears, well maybe not mine but i’m sure some young fans might read this junk to.
Anytime we’re losing to a team with 2 & 8 record by 3 tds at home, it is not matter of a few injured players or missed fgs (or whatever excuses you want to add).
Our defense has been a laughing stock for years and Cutler is not better than Plummer as we hoped. On top of these, Shanny is getting old and losing his grip.
Unless we clean out the front office, entire coaching staff, and many overpaid players (especially those without heart), my beloved Broncos will be mediocre at best for many years to come.
This game was sorry even if it was a rival team ..The team didnt come to play .Oakland has alwas played us tough. The win loss record shoes they have beaten us more than we have beaten them. But if this is the best the team can do .IM afraid we are looking at two years down the road before we can say the team is really good !!!
STILL THROUGH ALL AND ALL IM A BRONCOS FAN GO BRONCOS !!!
to 07elway:
I have no beef with you, i think your faith is sometimes inspiring. but you write on this thing like you are the disciple in the church of all things bronco and we are the lowly sinners. the fact of the matter was the team lost as a team. BUT our offense but up ten points against a fairly good defense, as bad as that is, its not as pathetic as giving up 31 points to a team that had not scored in 15 quarters before this game. pointing fingers at the defense in perfectly fine if you ask me. injuries aside…. these are the raiders…..
I HATE THE RAIDERS
chuntbuck – I am so sorry I made you (and probably a few other people on here) feel like I’m above all of you. I’m not perfect at all and I’ll be the first to admit I’m not in any way above anyone. I just find it irritating that only when this team wins everybody that comes on here loves this team but when we lose like we did today its like forget these guys. That’s how some of these comments come across to me.
Alot of people on here only give a crap about this team when they win and could care less when they lose. Its like they expect perfection every second of every game. Even if we had one of those “perfect” seasons there would still be room for improvement. No matter how bad we lose in a game I’ll always believe in this team b/c I care and they don’t deserve a bunch of fans giving up on them when they need us the most to believe in them. That’s just me.
I’ve always been crazy about this team and I intend to stay that way till I die and even then I’ll be rooting for this team in my grave. I grew up watching this team and if the players and coaches are gonna decide sometimes to not be dedicated to this team like they were today then I will. All areas of this team played so poorly I really am at a loss for words. We had to come out today and FIGHT for a win and we were no where near fighting for a win. There were only a few times they looked like they were actually trying to get on the board but it was like when it didn’t go their way they practically said let’s give up and try no more. The worst time to give up is right in the middle of the game right when you shouldn’t give up. We should be pointing fingers at every part of this team – offense, defense, special teams, coaches… but that’s the team I’m talking about. Its takes all 4 of those areas to win and lose games. You can’t possibly blame one more than the other. You can blame the defense all you want and most people would mostly blame them b/c they gave up 31 points but not all of those points – we had 2 INTs and I believe a fumble. I’ve tried to forget it all so forgive me if I’m wrong. All areas of our game are to blame as a whole, but again believe what you want but some of the people on here are just misleading themselves if they think ONLY one area of our game is solely at fault for today’s loss.
Sorry again for making you (chuntbuck) feel like I’m above you and I’m sure I did the same to some other people on here. That was and has never been my intention at all. Just trying to give some of you guys a different perspective of this is a TEAM effort, win or lose. And I totally agree this loss for us should’ve never happened. I was so sure we would win but boy did I get a shocker!!
Just have faith Broncos Country. This team needs our support now more than ever. Sorry this was so long.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
Here we go again…we lose a game and the haters like SCorangenblue start saying we need to clean house and Cutler is not better than Plummer. Cutler is and will always be better than Plummer.
Today was a let down. As WestCoast said, it is what it is. The team was flat and we lost, it happens. They are a very young team and they have a lot of maturing to do, but most of you want and expect instant gratification from this team. We knew going into this season that we are still a year or two away from being a serious contender. We definitely need to make some changes defensively during the offseason. If we draft as good in 09 as we did in 08, look out! Our rookies this year are studs and have a great future.
One thing that does puzzle me, if we can’t get pressure on the opposing QB with our front four, we don’t we blitz more. We need to be more aggressive defensively on passing downs. Look at the top defenses in this league – they are aggressive and they blitz constantly. Offensively, we need to pound the rock and stick with it.
Not a hater but how in the hell can you lose to your biggest division rival, playing in front of your home crowd, knowing that a win would put you possibly three games up on the second place division team? Someone please explain that. It’s absolutely mind boggling watching these guys try to excute an offensive game plan. And I’ve never seen a defense that lacks so many basic fundamental tackling skills. I, however, respect Mike Shanahan and belief he is a good coach. However, this loss reeks of overlooking Oakland to get at the Jets and that is on the head coach. I firmly believe Denver needs to go 10-6 with a division title for Coach Shanahan to keep his job. I also belief his time in this town has passed.
i blame dre bly and matt prater the reason we lost the game to raiders.
All Dre Bly cares about is getting the green hes never made a big play when we really really needed one.
How did Bly and Prater lose the game? Bly has never made a big play when we really need one? Are kidding? How about the Cleveland game when he stripped the ball, or how about his interception against the dirty birds? Those weren’t big plays and we didn’t need them anyway, right? What a joke!!!
07elway…don’t let chuntbuck’s interpretation of your blogs discourage you. I enjoy reading your blogs, especially since you can spell and write, and love that you always support this team.
We’re a young team, we need to mature and we need to add a few missing puzzle pieces on defense. Be patient fans. Shanny is not going anywhere and those of you that say he needs to go are foolish.
GO BRONCOS!!!
Elway07,
This team has had our support, unfortunately whether they deserve it is an open question.
They play with no heart and just go through the motions, and today they didn’t even do that very well. Tackling dummies would have been able to get past our defense and I’m pretty certain a blind orangutan could have gotten open in our secondary today.
Sometimes they win (barely), and other times they get beaten and beaten bad. Like today.
The problem is they act like it’s our job as fans to support them no matter what. That’s not true. They have to earn our support by putting forth their best effort every time they go on the field. These guys — not just the superstars with their entourages and indoor sunglasses, but everyone on the team — gets paid thousands of dollars each week for playing a kids game. It’s the best job in the world and it would be nice if they showed a little respect for the people paying their enormous salaries.
I’ve said it before, it’s one thing to get beaten and lose a game, but it’s another thing entirely to beat yourselves, or worse, not even come ready to play. For these guys to bleat on and on about “learning from our mistakes” week after week; and then show, yet again, that they have learned nothing and just lay down and die for the faiders is sick.
I’ve been a Broncos fan for many, many years, when I lived in Denver and when I’ve lived elsewhere. I used to wear my Broncos jerseys into the Oakland Coliseum and put up with all kinds of abuse from the lame faider fans. But I did that because I was sure my team would do their best, win or lose. After today’s performance, I’m not sure that’s a fair assumption anymore.
I remember the years when Oakland had good teams and Denver did not. And what I remember from those years was that no matter what, those Denver teams came to win, even if they did ultimately lose.
Until every single coach and player on this team owns up to their failure — today and throughout the season — and decides they want to change that for the better, the best they deserve from the fans is lukewarm support. Afterall, that’s all they have given us.
Still a Bronco fan but waiting for the real Broncos to show up
I would not bet on any NFL game or team this year. C’mon, we beat the Falcons at their place one week, blow it to the Raiders at home?! We looked hot at 3-0, then got blown out by Kansas City?! If I WERE a betting man, I’d say we’re poised to beat the Jets next week! Nothing is consistent this year.
“Nothing is consistent this year.” I completely agree.
I saw quite a few players on the field playing with heart and emotion, so I definitely do not agree with anyone saying otherwise. The Raiders have a good defense. Any team in this league is going to get beat if their defense can’t get pressure on the QB. We got beat today, but not from lack of heart or emotion.
broncofannsd – thanks. And I don’t let anyone on here, whether they like my novels or not, discourage me in any way from writing what I want to on here but if there’s a misunderstanding, it’ll bug me so I’ll do my best to try and clear it up yet staying firm on my opinion. I love your comments too, its good to know there’s more than 2 whole-hearted fans on here.
And broncoinexile – NOT everyone on here supports this team whole-heartedly – win or lose, including yourself. Just by your comment alone – they have to earn your support? Oh boy. There are way too many half-hearted fans on here… they know who they are so don’t tell me every single fan in Broncos Country supports this team 110%. I know I do… I’ve never given up on this team and I NEVER will. Surely all of you who have read 1 or 2 of my comments in the past months would know I hardly ever say some of the things other people just have the ordasity to. I would never put all the blame of a loss on one person’s shoulders and I would never say that so and so should be gone by the end of the game because he missed what 2 or 3 field goals – yeah like that would have put us over the top of 31. We didn’t need field goals to win we needed TDs. And honey, IT IS our jobs as fans to support this team no matter what – that’s what TRUE fans do. You couldn’t be more wrong. They have to earn our respect not our support. If they have to earn your support through a horrible game like today… we get comments like the one you just made, half-hearted. You don’t think you owe anything to this team b/c they played horribly and lost to a 2-8 rivalry team. Almost unbelievable a “fan” would say that. If they can’t have your support through the most ugly of games, when do they get it? Oh yeah, ONLY when they win b/c to you winning is everything. Its not about winning all the time, its about HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME! Maybe, just maybe, if we show them we really really care… they might just return the favor back to us by playing smart games and winning. You have to play a smart game in order to get the win, my dear. If we didn’t play a game to our full potential (like today) we obviously don’t get the W. Just tell me how in the world do you expect to win win win win win if we don’t play our hearts out? You don’t.
And last but not least… for the love of God people, if you’ve got something to say to me at least get my name right – its 07elway!!!!! I don’t spell all your names wrong, learn to read my friends, it’ll do ya good!!
This team will ALWAYS have my support whether it be the good, the bad and/or the ugly. I got this team’s back!!! Do you??
Have faith Broncos Country…
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
Colts win…AWESOME!!!!
At least the chargers lost, that’s almost like a win. Chargers suck.
HA, the Whiners lost… I saw the end. Funny!!
Thank you to the Colts for letting us keep a 2 game lead. Its just by a miracle we are still #1 in the AFC West. If I’m shocked about anything its that. Oh well, I’ll take it.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!
07Elway,
If this team had actually played to win they would have my support.
They did not. They were woefully unprepared, completely failed to execute and showed about as much determination to win this game as a tranquilized sloth.
bmarsh dropped how many balls? The play calling said “we’re not going to be aggressive in our own house, come kick us in the ass,” the inept use of time-outs told everyone watching the game that the gameplan — if there was one — was wrong and the coaches were ineffectively reacting to what a 2-8 team was doing.
And the response to that was to come out for one series in the second half and then they got tired, or they started thinking about what clubs to go to, or what might be on TiVo after the game, or something else. Whatever it was, it was not on the game and that’s why they got whipped and whipped badly by the chumps of the NFL.
I don’t OWE anything to this team. They earn my support when they play like they want to win. And I have cheered and supported many Denver teams that did not win, but they at least went out and tried to win every game. This team does not do that and THAT is why the lost to the cheaps and to the faiders.
I thought the two road wins was a sign of a true passion for the game and a desire to win, but apparently not. How else to explain this absolute embarrassment of a blow-out in Denver by a 2-8 team that doesn’t even have a real coach?
I stayed and cheered for every last second when Denver got beaten 55-10 in the Superbowl because every player on that team kept playing. That was a tough loss, but at least we lost that game because SF was just a much better team. We lost today because our team played like a bunch of spoiled prima donnas who get paid whether they show up for work or not.
Then to hear them explain how they need to “learn from their mistakes” makes me want to ask them exactly what they have been learning, because they seem to be making the same mistakes. Over and over again.
Our offense spluttered and misfired to a grand total of 10 points today, while our D made jamarcus nobody a superhero, when they weren’t busy waving goodbye to fargas and mcfadden.
The reason they don’t deserve any support is because they did not play like they cared about the game. IF THEY don’t care if they beat the faiders, why should we? And if THEY cared about beating the faiders, they should have acted like it while they were on the field.
They gave this game away and that’s not the way to treat fans.
I have and will continue to support the team — win or lose — as long as they are playing with intensity and like they want to win. When they lie down for the faiders to walk all over them like today, the team needs to show some reason for support. Otherwise, pretty soon, Denver fans will be like Detroit fans, bereft of any hope for winning seasons and or championships and the laughingstock of the rest of the country.
Before asking who has the back for this team, ask if they have shown anything to deserve it first. Or are you saying you’ll support the team even if they give up, play with no intensity and simply collect their paychecks?
I agree: I don’t expect to “win win win win win if we don’t play our hearts out.”
In fact, that’s been my ENTIRE point. This team played with NO heart today and that’s why they got beaten like a redheaded step-child by the sorriest excuse for a team in the entire league. And in front of 70,000+ fans in their own stadium.
Every single person on the team should be thinking about just how badly they let down every single Bronco fan, by failing to show up for this game.
HOW you play the game is important and today, the Broncos played like they were on auto-pilot and OD’d on valium. That’s NO way to win in the NFL.
this is embarassing.
we don’t deserve to go to the playoffs,
but we may end up going since the chargers just lost (thank goodness).
but even if we do end up going to the playoffs,
we wont win, becuase playoffs teams dont lose to THE RAIDERS.
today, the offense was horrible,
defense was horrible,
special teams was horrible.
its amazing how we went from last week,
beating the falcons with good O and D,
to this week, losing to the raiders.
it’ll be a grand ol’ time next week with the Jets.
07elway is right we win as a team and lose as a team. We need to stop blamming individuals and start supporting the broncos, because we have a tough game next week against the division leading jets. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!
broncofannsd & 07elway—hope I had your name right
You all need to fix your tunnel vision.
One can support a team while he/she is still criticizing the team’s effort as well as coaching staff. Supporting a team whole-heartedly does not mean watching the game on TV with blank eyes, then do nothing but hoping they will come together next week (or next season..maybe next decade). After all, we all are rooting for the Broncos, not for Shanny, Cutler, Champ….. They’re displaceable if it is needed to improve our team. Blind love to specific player/coach is totally different from whole-hearted support.
Your Broncos hater (as you mentioned, broncofannsd) was at Georgia Dome wearing Orange & Blue and will do the same thing at Bank of America Field to support my beloved Broncos next month.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but the Broncos need to actually show up for and play the game with some real intensity.
Fan support will not help them at all when Bret Favreee starts carving up the secondary. And if the offense decides to take another game off like today, fugedaboudit.
Maybe, just maybe, they can actually learn from some of their mistakes this week and work harder to come together as a team and continue to execute better on the field and good things will happen.
With the San Diego loss tonight we still have a 2 game lead in the division. But it feels kinda lame to be 1st in a division that is sooo bad.
This was a bad performance. Nevertheless, let’s forget about it and pound the Jets.
