BRONCOS AT DOLPHINS GAMECENTER: Thanks for sticking with us as we change the format of our gameday “live blogs.” We needed to change the format, and hoped that giving you all a place to live stream your comments and serve as a base for all links to blogs throughout the game would be a positive change. For those of you wondering about missing play-by-play, we’ll keep you updated with a new blog any time there’s a big play or a scoring drive, and for everything in between, you can check out the DenverBroncos.com Gamecenter here. It’s got stats, the score and a play-by-play of the current drive.
BRONCOS ON TWITTER: Another option is to follow the @Denver_Broncos Twitter account. There are constant updates on there throughout the game. You don’t have to be on Twitter to read the posts, but if you are, you should follow the account for news throughout the week as well.
COIN TOSS: The captains are at midfield for the coin toss and Detroit has won the toss and has deferred to the second half. Denver will receive to start the game, and we’re about to get underway.
BRONCOS START FAST: Denver took the opening kickoff down the field and nearly capped it off with a touchdown, but refs ruled Eric Decker didn’t maintain possession in the back of the end zone after hauling in Tim Tebow’s pass. The Broncos still took an early lead on Matt Prater’s 39-yard field goal. More on the drive here.
LIONS STRIKE BACK: Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford found a wide-open Titus Young in the end zone for a 41-yard touchdown to give Detroit a 7-3 lead. It looked to be a case of blown coverage.
HARRIS MAKES FIRST START: Undrafted free agent cornerback Chris Harris made his first career start today, as the Broncos opened in nickel coverage. Read more about that and check out the rest of the starters here.
INJURY UPDATE: Virgil Green has a neck injury, and his return is questionable.
LIONS TACK ON FIELD GOAL: A 50-yard Jason Hanson field goal gives Detroit a 10-3 lead. The drive was highlighted by a 21-yard scramble by Matthew Stafford, with 15 yards being tacked on due to an unnecessary roughness penalty.
AYERS NOTCHES KEY SACK: With the Lions threatening to enter field goal range, Robert Ayers made sure they came away without any points by sacking Matthew Stafford for a loss of 7 yards, forcing a punt.
LIONS TAKE 17-3 LEAD: A 1-yard pass from Stafford to Tony Scheffler gives the Lions a 17-3 lead late in the second quarter.
LIONS UP 21 AT HALF: The Lions capped off a run of 24-consecutive points to end the first half with a 1-yard Maurice Morris touchdown.
FIRST HALF RECAP: Take a look at some of the pertinent stats as the game has reached halftime.
LIONS ADD DEFENSIVE TD: A strip-sack by Cliff Avril led to a defensive touchdown for the Lions.
CARTER OUT: Quinton Carter has a concussion and is out for the remainder of the game.
FIRST HALF PHOTOS: Here’s a look at the first half of action from the field, courtesy of Eric Lars Bakke.
STAFFORD-TO-JOHNSON FOR TD: Stafford finds Johnson down the sideline for a 56-yard touchdown, and the Lions lead it 38-3.
PICK SIX EXTENDS LIONS LEAD: A 100-yard interception return by Chris Houston gives the Lions a 45-3 lead with 12:04 remaining in the fourth quarter.
TEBOW FINDS DECKER FOR TD: The Broncos got back on the board midway through the fourth quarter when Tim Tebow hit Eric Decker for a 14-yard touchdown on a screen pass. For more on the drive, click here.
FINAL SCORE: DETROIT 45, DENVER 10: The Lions beat the Broncos 45-10 this afternoon at Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Check back for more coverage shortly.

Just ready to put this one away and move on to the next game…..the excuse next week will be….Raiders had two weeks to prepare
I thought the highlight of the day is when colquitt tried to get in a fight with a detroit d end lol
LMAO @ Carnage lol that and the Oline
I guess i have to put over here too….it is asinine to me to suggest that we keep “simplifying” the offense and then complain that it is vanilla….it is ridiculous to habe to run a college offense for a pro player,,,,he needs to start playing better…..he was bad in practice and has been bad on the field….this is what the coaches have seen…and fans asked to see it too….post a billboard about that…..
imo even if Tebow fails to win starting job next year, with the little amount they would owe him on his contract i think they would keep him atleast thru his contract
the only good thing that happened for the good is the COWBOYS LOST
congrats to Brandon on his TD and helping STL get their 1st W
0-5 without him 1-1 with him
miss that dude…..
i support tebow. but have to call it like it is. tebow has played terrible. as well as the rest of the team. lots to do. so it s probaly obvious that none of thes qbs will be here next year. so who will it be ?
As much as I like Tebow and really wanted him to succeed, he clearly showed that he’s not the answer. I am tired of seeing these rookie QB’s like Newton, Ponder, and Dalton look like they’ve already been in the NFL for a while and Tebow looking like someone just going into college. I really hope there is a way that we get Luck next year! When we played San Diego at home a couple of weeks ago, Elway was at Stanford watching Luck play. I really believe Elway is dying to get Luck in a Broncos Uniform and hope we do everything we can to get him! Barkley is good as well but we might as well get the Peyton Manning type quarterback since they’ll both be gone easily in the top 5! I think we are officially in the “Suck for Luck” campaign. Even though, we’re too proud of an organization to ever lose on purpose. I just hope we do everything we can to get Luck next year!
I wouldn’t be too quick to drop Tebow. He has shown willingness to do what is asked of him to win for the team. At any rate, I certainly don’t mind having his athleticism against upcoming Raiders and Chiefs. Early in the season, the Broncos talked about having a set of plays specifically designed for Tebow. I have to wonder why they wouldn’t do the same for Orton, when Tebow is taking the snaps. No player is responsible for the hype surrounding Denver players, and I have to imagine that all Mr. Tebow has ever asked, was to be given his chance to start. I would have to think that Orton is the first preference against the Raiders, in terms of Quarterback abilities, but don’t have any real objections, if it is decided to let Tebow have his crack at the Raiders, and Chiefs. Does he have the skill set to work as a back, or even wide receiver? What would be the problem of having him in the backfield with Orton? This isn’t a problem that is going to be decided be a single replacement at the quarterback position. We are seeing the same situations facing Tebow, (for instance, third and long on offense), that was faced by Mr. Orton. As a matter of fact, the most clear headed argument for Tebow during the media-fed “Quarterback Controversy”, was that Mr. Tebow had the ability to face the same situation(s), and have a better chance at, “making something positive happen” — a euphemism for better survive it, physically. It doesn’t feel good to lose games, but let’s be clear what is, and what isn’t the problem. If the problem is that Denver as a team is simply too small and too slow to consistently beat better teams, then, let’s learn to live with reality, and not pretend that the “problem” is with a single player, or coach. Coaches are still learning about their players, and the team is carefully exploring the sixteen game schedule.
