9:55, 1st quarter
The Broncos faced a fourth-and-1 from the Jets 21-yard line on their opening drive and decided to go for it, rather than attempt a field goal. David Harris broke through the line and stopped Willis McGahee short of the mark, turning the ball over on downs.
8:33, 1st Quarter
On the Jets’ first possession of the game, they faced a third-and-4 from their own 27-yard line when Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller met in the backfield to sack Mark Sanchez for a 6-yard loss. The stop led to a 13-yard punt that set the Broncos offense up with great field position that resulted in a 37-yard field goal by Matt Prater to put the team ahead 3-0.
1:16, 1st Quarter
Facing a third-and-3 from the Broncos 34, Mark Sanchez threw a 10-yard pass to Santonio Holmes that was ruled a completion on the field, but overturned when Broncos Head Coach John Fox challenged the call. Instead of a first down at the edge of the red zone, the Jets were forced to attempt a 52-yard field goal that was no good.
2:35, 2nd Quarter
After the Jets pieced together a pair of first downs to reach their 49-yard line, a third-down snap from center Nick Mangold sailed well over the head of quarterback Mark Sanchez and rolled all the way back to the Jets 27-yard line before Sanchez could recover the loose ball. Linebacker Von Miller pounced on the quarterback immediately for a 22-yard loss and the Jets were forced to punt from deep in their own territory.
11:06, 3rd Quarter
On a 2nd-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Von Miller broke into the backfield and forced Jets running back Bilal Powell to fumble the ball. Guard Matt Slauson was in the right place at the right time and fell on the ball in the end zone to give the Jets a 10-3 advantage.
4:32, 3rd Quarter
Mark Sanchez dropped back and delivered a pass intended for wide receiver Plaxico Burress, but cornerback André Goodman jumped the route and intercepted the pass. With nothing but green in his path, Goodman returned the interception 26 yards for a touchdown to even the game at 10-10.
1:06, 4th Quarter
Tim Tebow avoided an all-out blitz on third-and-4 and took off around the left side for a 20-yard touchdown that proved to be the game-winner.

It was his mother, haha.
But no Goodman, no win yesterday, simple as that.
Yeah Curt that was crazy right? A sign that reads: “Goodmans my man” held by a lil kid I had to rewind the DVR just to make sure I wasn’t seeing things lol
Yeah bay you do a good job of calling it as you see it.
Agreed all the drops have to stop, this does not help Tebow at all and for NFL receivers is inexcusable. As I remember it Decker had two last nite, Royal 1, one of the TE’s 1 and D. Thomas 1. I am NOT making excuses for Tebow, he had some real bad throws but these drops can be game changers and momentum killers.
Mathew Willis is a stud! It seemd like he was down with the guy receiving the punt, before the ball, on every punt. On a couple I saw him pretty much standing there behind the receiver waitning for the punt to arrive, pretty funny to see, but the dude can fly!
Props to oldsouthstander as well, after his back to back wins I knew he wouldn’t be caught… I was almost positive that you were getting points this game bay I was already congratulating you that sucks man

I was bummed for a short while last night like when that dumb arse guard recoverd the fumble for the TD on third down, had we stopped them to a FG there I would of gotten points for sure, but I’m over it, know I had that game pegged though and I must move on to the next one.
I only wish they would use my boy Willis more, have been saying that on the blog for what seems like forever now, come on Fox and McCoy integrate him in your O, the man is fast , he can get behind most DBs no problem.
Thanks weatherman, the day after a game I have way too much to say to have time for the DP.
No one is mentioning how Revis totally pussed out on that one run by Tebow on the sideline. He wanted no part of that. And then on the TD run Cromartie conveniently couldn’t get off his block. He was just standing there. I hate Cromartie, he is such a waste.
Curt
I would like to see more of Willis in the O as well. Maybe he won’t have as bad of a case of the drops either!
Bay. I read in the results post you made about oldsouthstander and so I think he’ll agree with this. I am also an old south stander myself. Section EE row 23 seats 20-24 that my Dad purchased in 1965. My sister still has one of those seats or part of the bench/bleacher that she stole from the last game in the old Mile High btw. Now, sec 132 row 5 and sec 133 row 39…still in the south stands 46 years later.
My point is that we are witnessing the long awaited return of the entity we know as Mile High Magic. As a kid I could not understand it when I watched it in person. Kurt Warner said it in post game that it can’t be explained. Deion Sanders and Michael Irvin were swept away by it. Yes, Tim Tebow is unexpectedly at the center of it. Back in the ’70s when we were a bad team we started to compete with much better teams culminating with the ’77 SB appearance. There was magic then. We saw it again when Elway was one of the most touted rookies ever and he had all those comebacks and SB appearances. There was magic then. Whether us fans understand it or not we have been talking back and forth about what the needs of this team are. All the speculation in the media. The drama. Now something intangible is rearing it’s beautiful head. Mile High Magic is officially back baby. I wish I could describe the feeling that you get when you are there although you can get the general sense of it even watching on TV. Sorry for the babble but I haven’t seen anything like this in a long time. It is positively electric in the stadium when things like last night occur. We have some tough games ahead but ANYTHING seems possible now. WOW!!!
Actually Curt BFE was all over that this morning still up from last night I believe lol
And now that teams have seen how Rex stacked NTs in the middle to stifle the run, thats the formula that teams will most likely be using from here on out. What would be nice is some ol “Jake the snake” type roll-outs and TE drags. Maybe Fox and McCoy can look at some old film and incorporate it into our system. A man can dream…
Just think, if those 5 drops would have been caught Tim would have been 14 of 20 and a 70% completion rate. In the first quarter at one point he was 4 for 5. I know he needs work but he will get there. The defense is awesome. Just curious though, you heard the Bronco’s team say “watch this” on that last drive. They obviously though that we had a good chance of winning but do you guys think that the Jet’s team thought the same thing on their final drive?
Did you see Sanchez’s press conference after the game shaz? That kid looks like he’s lost all confidence in himself and I think that their team is feeling that bad energy
The receivers have to dive On 80% of the passes. It has to get better. If Tebow learns hot to throw, it’ll be like when Happy Gilmore learned how to putt.
Curt
LOL@Curt
Bad football is bad football…we were playing TOTAL TEAM bad football to start the season….I think because of all the Tebow love and Orton hate…no one actually watches the games….I am more concerned with the TEAM than I am with the performance of just one guy…which again OVERALL was not good…Tebow lovers will not admit that he STINKS most of the game and that we are winning in SPITE of him for the most part. I watch EVERY snap of EVERY game and I think we have to be realistic…this is fool’s gold…am I happy we are winning…yes and no….I think again, these wins put us in the predicament of them almost HAVING to play TEbow again next year…which I think is not going to help us at all….The key to this streak, acknowledge it or not has been twofold
1. Our defense and special teams have been playing STELLAR. Can you honestly say that with the D and special teams playing like this, Orton wouldn’t be 4-1? If you do you are not being honest, because when they did before we were 6-0. Fact. And I believe Bay will admit that at that time I didn’t believe in this team as a whole.
2. We have been EXTREMELY lucky at the beginning of the Tebow tenure. Miami. Oakland in flux (new QB and by new I mean off the couch and no Run DMC), Jets tired and in despair, two days to practice and wthout their top TWO backs, Miami who is just Miami and KC who is falling apart. Conversely, Orton faced probably the toughest part of our schedule while at the helm.
I am not a fan of Tebow, I am though, extrememly happy the defense is playing at a level to “keep us in games” since the offense is not. If it changes it does. If not, at least everyone will be happy with Tebow!
SN: Fox is coach of the year…there is no way that he cannot be…
Sanchez knows who hit him and he is very sore today and Rex Ryan got to feel what Madden felt in the ’70s minus the debris flying out of the stands. Von Miller was incredible and someone said it earlier but Broderick Bunkley was a pure beast.
Curt I am glad you pointed that out….he has yet to throw a “catchable” ball. Every ball has to be caught acrobaticly..Even the drop by Decker on the sideline would have been above average in the difficulty department. Rosario saved him on his diving catch. Most people just believe Tebow can do no wrong though. They think if you point out his flaws you “hate” him. People pointed out what Orton did wrong all the time. I am a staunch non-Tebow fan….but I said all game have him run the ball….heck we can run…run it…run it run it
Shaz is right though, If you can touch leather then you should be able to bring it in, at least that’s what our coach used to say.
Carnage. Read my 9:27 post. Like it or not, THAT is what’s happening right now. It does not make sense. It can be explained. I have held somewhat the same mentality you have too in the recent past but I have also seen the magic. Ugly offensive performances with the defense keeping us in games or flat out winning them is not new here in Denver. We can analyze and disect the team all we want right now but none of what the teams recent success can be explained in Xs and Os. Roll with it baby.
I don’t believe Orton’s leadership and will would’ve gotten the team to want to play better. I think partially whey we’re playing better is Tebow’s leadership.
I’m a Tebow fan, but that doesn’t mean I don’t see his flaws along with team flaws. Not all Tebow fans just think he’s a God send and he can do no wrong. I think it’s obvious as a team we need to improve greatly, but with what I’m seeing there is some things to build off of.
also…no one wanted old half crippled Craig Morton here but he won games. Elway was flat out horrible at first but he ended up winning games. Both situations coupled with some good defensive play mixed in.
I love how the haters are still things like:
“enjoy the wins while they last” and “this style is not sustainable”
We have some work to do, but I love this team, and part of me loves that we are going against the grain! We finally have some swagger out there, and we need to get an “us against the world” mentality going as this team begins to gel.
I’m way behind on all the comments here b/c I’ve been busy, but I do agree with whoever said that Fox should get more respect, but mostly b/c I believe that Fox had a lot of input on drafting Miller over Dareus, and having him a the HC, we know his vote will be for defense in this next draft, which is what we need to keep doing. I want to see us build a scary good defense, b/c I think our offense will only get better with time, especially a proper offseason with OTA’s
LMFAO@Curt
I have the feeling that even if Tebow turned into a great QB like Elway people would still hate him.
Carnage, I never said Tebow could do no wrong, I believe that I did say he had a lot of imporvement that needs to be made in the passing game. But to say he has not thrown on catchable ball, come on, I thought you watch every play. Did you miss the TD pass to Decker last week. Perfectly thown, in stride. I did not see any acrobatics there! He has had many other very well thrown balls as well.
When a ball hits a receiver in the hands or bounces of thier numbers, it sould be catchable in the NFL.
I am NOT a blind Tebow supporter, however I do support him. I agree he has a TON of work to do in his passing game, I grew up watching Elway and love a gerat passer and passing game. I also watch games and want to see more passes and while watching complain about Tebows poor throws, which there are many, but I think it is slowly getting better. I think he can do it. He is not the first young QB to ever struggle in the NFL. Thats the problem people act like he is the only on to go through some pretty ugly growing pains. It seems like others can struggle and no one comes down as hard on them. Since he is Tebow the non supporters expect him to be perfect from the start. Makes no sense.
Tebow welcomes the haters he always says: ‘Thank you for motivating me.’ He needs those haters and if hating is just your hobby then Tebow will turn you into a full timer.
Tebow is incorporating how he did in College, because that is how he plays the game. Florida got to be amazed by him for 4 years. He may be unconventional but that is what the fans want to see. He has had critics against him his whole career. He wins games and that is what counts.
Love the Tebow
Florida Fan
Well said Royalty
I can’t say that I’m totally enamored with Tebow, I mean he needs to work out A LOT of kinks A LOT but as long as our D keeps the game within reach you just can’t count the kid out, unexplainable as it may be thats the situation…
Doesn’t matter if he wins games because he’s not doing it conventionally. All his stats should have a little asterisk by it so people know that he did it by playing bad football.
I have just your basic phone, nothing pretty, nothing cool and I can call and text that’s about it. My friends all have iPhones, Blackberrys and Droids. They’re cool and they can do a lot of cool stuff. It’s funny they’ve all had troubles with their phones working properly and things. They sometimes can’t even make a dumb phone call. I tell them I never have trouble with mine and when I tell them all I have is a phone they laugh and say I’m in the stone age. The key thing is that with my phone as ugly and uncool as it is, always makes an receives the call and I have never had an issue with it. Is it pretty..no, but it does the job.
TY S.D.
Good analogy BTW brian… if it works it works and that’s all that counts and Tebow is working… love it or hate it.
-Royalty
Check out these two N-Y newspaper covers this morning:
http://blogs.denverpost.com/broncos/2011/11/18/what-are-the-ny-papers-saying-now/10727/
I like that Brian! Great analogy. I have a droid, I can do a lot of cool things and love the GPS but the hardest function, or the one that fails me most is making and receiving calls!! Makes me want to smash it with a hammer!! My old flip phone on the other hand, always worked great!
Our team is now having a great 10 days of time off and prep for the next game while the Jets are having a miserable time of it, that’s how huge this game was and now it’s tough for the fans because we have to wait for 10 days for the next game, but the win in the backpocket helps. It’s gonna give me three days sabbatical from the prediction contest as well so I’m not complaining, haha.
Our team is like electronics. Everyone wants one device to do everything just like people want Tebow to do everything, the problem is if one aspect of that device breaks then it basically useless and you have to go buy a new all in one device. The difference is that our team is comprised of multiple electronic devices. We have the an MP3 player (offense), a GPS (defense), a camera (special teams) and a laptop (coaching staff). We connect each device to the laptop for updates and improvements and if one device breaks we can work on fixing the device itself rather than replacing everything (next man up mentality). Everyone talks about how it is a team sport but then you single out Tebow or Orton when the team plays bad, everyone talks about winning but puts stipulations on it that is isn’t pretty or conventional. I guess all I’m saying is that yeah, Tebow’s not playing great, but the defense and special teams have stepped up. Being part of a team doesn’t just mean you win and lose together, it means that you’re there for your team when they need you when Tebow isn’t playing well the defense steps up, when the defense isn’t playing well we’ll need Tebow to step up and special teams always needs to be ready to contribute. You can use all of the individual devices to get you what you want displaying the team mentality rather than using an iPhone and putting all your stock in one item. I guess I’m just old-fashioned and have individual devices for each of my needs. I just think that even though we’re playing “bad” football as some say we’re playing more like a TEAM.
A phone should be good at making calls, a QB shall be good at making passes, that’s the other side of that analogy though.
Phones nowadays aren’t good at making calls though. Haha.
We’re playing “land line” football LOL! Not pretty but gets the job done, as everyone is saying.
Well some phones are..mine is anyway.
bay – if you think those are bad, you should hear the NY media on the Jets loss… Zero credit is given to the Broncos, it’s all how the Jets blew it… We beat them down, anyway they want to look at it!!! And Revis shying away from Tebow on that run??? That will NEVER be lived down as long as I’m still kicking….
One of the things that will be interesting to me for the rest of the season is to see if Carnage can be right once again, like when he said in 2009 that our 6-0 start gave a false illusion of a good team, when he is saying now basically the same thing about Tebow’s skills and his 4-1 start. I keep waiting to see if he might be right but the team keeps delaying it, maybe Carnage will be wrong this time arouund because he sure was right about McD’s team in 2009 when everybody said we were on to great things after that 6-0 start. I like keeping track of bloggers and their track record, and Carnage is far from being bad, in fact at times he has been scary good, just saying, hate to see the guy being the punch line of so many posts, he definitely has a high accumen for the game, maybe just not for Tebow, time will tell though.
Bad? Who said anything about bad, certainly not me, I thought those covers were pretty cool myself.
I thought those covers said it all, in a good way.
new blog
Maybe I’m seeing it differently than you.. Perhaps it b/c I have to listen to the NY media on a daily basis, but all the local sports shows are making all the excuses in the world today, giving the Broncos no credit and placing all the blame on Sanchez.. I heard one radio host say that the Denver defense is horrible, and Rex should be fired for letting them get all over the Jets….
appreciate that Bay…that sentiment won’t be echoed by many…love this team…actually do…don’t love Tebow, but when he is in have to “semi-support” him…and i do that by saying run the ball….100 times a game if necessary..don’t care who does it either…if he runs for 100 TDs that is fine…but time will tell…time will tell…time will tell..time will tell…time will tell….wait, my broken record is skipping…lol
Holy Smoked! Sounds good to me.
lol carnage, – your Tebow rants are entertaining enough fore sure.
it will be interesting to see if you ever change you stance on Tebow… I suspect it will take at least two Tebow lead SB wins for you to get over his ugly overthrown deliveries
Even then i suspect you would still critisize him and it will be because of someone else. Only time will tell if you are right or wrong.
