9:55, 1st quarter
The Broncos faced a fourth-and-1 from the Jets 21-yard line on their opening drive and decided to go for it, rather than attempt a field goal. David Harris broke through the line and stopped Willis McGahee short of the mark, turning the ball over on downs.
8:33, 1st Quarter
On the Jets’ first possession of the game, they faced a third-and-4 from their own 27-yard line when Elvis Dumervil and Von Miller met in the backfield to sack Mark Sanchez for a 6-yard loss. The stop led to a 13-yard punt that set the Broncos offense up with great field position that resulted in a 37-yard field goal by Matt Prater to put the team ahead 3-0.
1:16, 1st Quarter
Facing a third-and-3 from the Broncos 34, Mark Sanchez threw a 10-yard pass to Santonio Holmes that was ruled a completion on the field, but overturned when Broncos Head Coach John Fox challenged the call. Instead of a first down at the edge of the red zone, the Jets were forced to attempt a 52-yard field goal that was no good.
2:35, 2nd Quarter
After the Jets pieced together a pair of first downs to reach their 49-yard line, a third-down snap from center Nick Mangold sailed well over the head of quarterback Mark Sanchez and rolled all the way back to the Jets 27-yard line before Sanchez could recover the loose ball. Linebacker Von Miller pounced on the quarterback immediately for a 22-yard loss and the Jets were forced to punt from deep in their own territory.
11:06, 3rd Quarter
On a 2nd-and-goal from the 1-yard line, Von Miller broke into the backfield and forced Jets running back Bilal Powell to fumble the ball. Guard Matt Slauson was in the right place at the right time and fell on the ball in the end zone to give the Jets a 10-3 advantage.
4:32, 3rd Quarter
Mark Sanchez dropped back and delivered a pass intended for wide receiver Plaxico Burress, but cornerback André Goodman jumped the route and intercepted the pass. With nothing but green in his path, Goodman returned the interception 26 yards for a touchdown to even the game at 10-10.
1:06, 4th Quarter
Tim Tebow avoided an all-out blitz on third-and-4 and took off around the left side for a 20-yard touchdown that proved to be the game-winner.

I couldnt stop screaming that last drive!! revis island jst moved out of the way for tebow…he was about to bulldoze him and he knew it..lol..
Von miller is a beast…did you see his bullrush sack at the end??? WOW!!!!!!
funny how doubters keep saying “wait til he faces a real defense like Jets”…well he just did and he jst won! our defense actually played better than theirs did..
Keys were that our Defense played great and Tebow had magic in the forth still not refined for 60 minutes but with wins against Oakland and Jets pretty legitimate
Everyone should read the Quotes after the game
broncos20….you said it bro,I was hoping Tebow would bulldoze over Revis, but the little big mouth moved outta his way and and reached out and tried to arm tackle him,he had one chance in the game to get his hands on Tebow, and punked out,I love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!Tebow moved Revis Island a few feet last night!!!!
Great play by our Defense, they were smokin’ last night!!!!!!!!!!
I wanna say how important it was that the WRs blocked down field to set up Tebow’s running plays, unselfish WRs are great!!!!!!!!!!
Loved how Sanchez thought he was gonna fake the spike and sneak in a quick pass at the end….NO NO not on Champ you don’t!!!!!!!!
Miller and Doom were awesome, they roughed Sanchez up all night!
Great pick 6 by Goody!
All I can say is that Tebow refuses to lose.
IT’S TEBOW TIME BRONCOS COUNTRY~!!!!!!!
Total team effort again!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved how Champ was the first one to hug Tebow, the Defense loves this guy.
5-5……my 8-8 prediction don’t look too bad right now!!!!!
I thought Miller has 2.5 sacks, but they had him down for 1.5!
the overthrow by their center, that Sanchez lost like 20 yards,he fell on the ball and covered it,Miller downed him, that’s a sack right?
Ridin’ High on that Orange Bud Light Express, train on Broncos!!!!!!!!
Oh yeah props to Bunkley,he is a run stuffing machine!!!!!!!
yea BFE…great to see all the pieces working together…Bunkley certainly stepped up.. Woodyard certainly deserves captain status on ST…
oh! Quinton Carter looked like a LB playing in the DBs.. Shonne Green w/o a doubt felt that hit….lol. loved the Bailey-Tebow exchange.
The anti-Tewbow crowd will concentrate on the times he looked bad and say that he just isn’t an NFL QB. As Decker acknowledged, the WRs dropped a lot of passes that they should have caught. How about giving the Jets D credit for executing almost flawlessly a game plan to stop TT and the Broncos run game? This game had two (I think we can all now include the Broncosc D) above avergae Ds that performed exceptionally well. Both Ds allowed only one long sustained drive. The difference was that the Broncos D was firing on all cylinders the last time the Jets had the ball and the game was on the line. The Jets D didn’t.
Match played at 1.30 AM here in Belfast. I didnt get asleep last night as the adrenalin was pumping through me. Exhausted but happy right now.
Have to say the play that won the match was the endzone pass to Royal. That we sidestep got us 8 yards. By doing that with no backs in the backfield we convinced the jets it was pass all the way. This opened up the lanes for Tebow to run through their defence right into the endzone. Great call Fox.
Well done Bay, nearly sure you nailed that score. Even better you basically called how the game would go. Kudos to the blogmaster. I hope this does not mean you only post the top ten instead of the top 15 as last week. Lol.
Broncos 17 Jets 13
Official score prediction contest week 11 results:
This is one of these rare week where we get a dead on score in the predictions and since this 17-13 score was what you would consider a non odd score, it only makes sense that we have actually two bloggers who were dead on and that makes it special. Even so the great majority have Tebow colored glasses on predicting high scoring games every week, about 10% of them this week were sensible enough to call this one a low scoring game and a handful got within only two total points of the final score and therefore racked up all the points, and they are:
Two way tie for 1st place:
killerkod 17-13, dead on score earning him the 7 points he was so badly looking for skyrocketing him now to 4th place overall overtaking Royalty by 1 point with a 10 points total. Well done, you got me back this week!
oldsoustander 17-13, same exact dead on prediction, a first for him after another two wins in which he was only one total point off in both, this old man is unconscious, he has now amassed a staggering 25 points breaking the old time record I held since 2009 with 21 points, even so I’m p*ssed off, LOL, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy, something can be said that old guys from the old South stands know a thing or two about their Broncos, absolutely amazing and most likely forcing us to all look at 2nd place now…. He has now won nearly a third of the games, 3 out of 10, WOW, that‘s crazy!
3rd place:
CurtOU, 16-13, only one total point off and for the second week in a row gathering 3 points for his effort, way to get out of your early WOS hole since you are now in positive territory for the first time this year with 1 point overall.
Two way tie for 4th place:
BroncosLAX 19-13, only two total points off earning his first two points of the competition.
theotheredge, same exact score and points bringing his point total for the season up to 4.
Well done you all!
Now onto the Wall of Shame. What can I say, Anti Tebowism (haha) is raising up its ugly head for CarnageBronc once again, second time he gets onto the infamous WOS predicting this time the Broncos to lose to the Jets by 2 TDs with a 10-24 prediction! That will get you shame every time, LOL. So now he earns himself the dubious lanterne rouge (dead last) moniker with minus 6 points overall, BUMMER, LOL.
A quick look at the top 5 bloggers overall now:
1. oldsouthstander, 25 points
2. timmah, 14
3. thecladybunch, 12
4, killekod, 10
5. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979, 9
WARNING, WARNING, WARNING:
Score predictions for the game against the Chargers will NOT be taken until Monday like in any other week! Consider yourselves warned.
Thanks collie but to no avail, alas.
I thought the Jets would score three times but wouldn’t score a TD and a stupid guard had to recover a fumble for their TD.
I thought the Tebow led Broncos would score 3 times but only one TD since I didn’t expect Goodman to score one with a pick 6.
Hence my 13-9 prediction, which I feel was still excellent, but it just wasn’t in the cards for me this week, I got screwed out of points by very unexpected plays is all.
But at least I ought to feel better than the majority here who keep drinking so much Tebow laced orange kool aid that they think the 2nd Raider game score (38-24) should be a weekly event.
All these folks need a SERIOUS dose of reality is all I’ll say about that.
Gotta walk the dog now, will type down my feelings about the game later and I got plenty.
And no thanks to killerkod, I’m out of the top 15 now, LOL, 16th place instead, and with such a great prediction, life isn’t fair at all, haha.
Bay as they say over here “you was robbed mate”
Revis lesson for you my friend keep your mouth shut. The difference between champ and you is he does not trash talk and he would have made the tackle. If you were so concerned about having nothing to do all night, you would have thought when you had a chance to influence the game you would have took it. Lesson learned son ” action not words count”
Great win! Our team seems to be bringing that Mile High Magic back. I know this is only one game but a 12 play 95 yard drive in the last minutes for a victory, it’s just awesome.
Still plenty of good and bad throughout the game. I think we’re seeing Tebow improve every week he’s out there, but there is always room for improvement. While he isn’t a good practice player, and I know I’m looking into the way future, but I think a full offseason will benefit Tebow and the team greatly. I’d still like to see his passing improve, 9 of 20 still allow the critics to bash his passing ability. C’mon, the game is on the line and Tebow does his thing…you can’t ask for much more in getting a victory.
Still think we’re committing too many penalties, something we need to get under control still. Uncharacteristic fumble by McGahee but we still won the turnover differential.
Another challenge this week going to Qualcomm to take on the Chargers. Went into Oakland, took care of business..went into Kansas City, took care of business..let’s hope we can take care of business with the Chargers.
I thought I was going to have a chance at getting some points this week for my prediction. Now I’ll never be able to overcome my WOS prediction. Haha oh well..we need to “just keep winning, just keep winning!”
Morning Bay! I’m quite the happy camper this morning………you’re wishing you copied my prediction now, aren’t ya! hahaha
I also posted this, which makes it even sweeter….
killerkod says:
November 15, 2011 at 9:57 am
I think Colquitt will be a huge factor in this game………pinning the Jets deep in their zone. By that, I mean there will be a lot of punting on both sides of the ball…………
7 of our 17 points will come from a Champ pick-six!
GO BRONCOS!!
It was goody, not champ, but still a good call………..should get an extra point for that! hahaha
just had a chance to post quickly, will evaluate the game later. Moral of the story, ugly game on O until it mattered most. Seems to be a trend.
GO BRONCOS!!!
I have never seen Rex Ryan this humble before and after a game. It’s like he knew what would happen
Maybe Rex is playing all nice because he wants Tebow on his team..
I love the way our team is coming together…more fire in their bellies since the QB change…Tim is doing his part for sure, but the entire team seems to be improving and getting on the same wavelength. It was cool to see Elway give a standing ovation on the game winning play. I love how our D is looking…give the O more time, it will continue to improve. Imagine Tim with better passing mechanics, and receivers that don’t drop the ball…with this awesome defense, scary good team potential.
Can’t make me like 55 minutes of bad football Bay….just can’t….6-0 or 4-1 if it is bad football it is bad football….common thread in both of those runs is that the defense played AMAZING!!!! We got a win and that is what matters though…gonna pick the Chargers come pickin time…hopefully my streak continues…fixture on the WOS I shall be….
Wow! What a spectacular come from behind win!
Like it or not carnage. Tebow has helped everyone play harder … why because they know if they give their all and its close, anything is possible. When u know it aint over till its over as a team. It helps u to keep fighting til the whistle blows. As a result we always get 60 minutes of full effort. This young team is learning backwards. They are learning how to finish strong first. Tebow had alot of dropped passes but some bad throws as well. But with the running game, this defense, and special teams playing the way they do … he doesn’t have to do it all … just keep him in the game long enough. Read the quotes. Goodman said everyone on the sideline was thinking like “wtch this”. They believed and that goes a long way. When ur team mates buy into u. Forget his stats. He gets Ws … bet u can wish he had less stats and more Ws.
I also like the look of having both royal and decker back for the punt. Lotta trickeration going on too. And the 55 minutes of bad football is because the jets came prepared with their 3 NT form to stop the option and succeeded … but we kept doing the same thing and trying to force the run. Need to fix that. But great game. Colquit is the man. Special teams with the fumble forced. Defense with the pick 6. True team win. Crazy how we had short field all game and could do nothing, but when we had to travel 95 yards we make it work. I was wondring where the qb draws were all day. Decker needs to work on his passing skills lol. Not only is this team more exciting under tebow … it wins. Our defense is looking like champs now … and to end it offf
Nanananananana BATMAN .. AND ROBIN!!! Love em. TRB
killerkod, don’t push your luck I’m the contest master and I’m in a bad mood, haha.
If we’re playing “bad football” just think what we would be like if we were playing “good football.”
I’m sill wondering when football turned away from just “winning” to “winning pretty.”
Sounds like the entire NFL is a prima donna haha
First game reflections for me since I always have to take care of blogger business first:
So many horrible plays yet so many great things done by the majority of the team, overall it’s hard not to fall in love with this team after the McD Error.
The D has now become our strength.
-McBean and Marcus Thomas are so much better in the 43 than the 34 it’s hard to think they are the same players and Bunkley is a superb addition to a front line that still needs a premier body in the middle.
-Doom is slowly coming back to form but still has long way to go to earn his kind of pay.
-Ayers needs to step it up also.
-Von Miller is the bomb and if not the best player on the team on both side of the ball right now he will be soon and when his time comes for a contract extension maybe Doom can share some of his earnings with him, it would only be right, long ways to go for that though.
- DJ is much better not having to be the leader of this team in tackles, he makes fewer ones but better ones and at critical times now it seems.
-Woodyard is also playing his role well and Mays makes enough plays here and there to compliment an improved LB corp thanks to new defensive leader Miller, sorry Dawk.
- Talking about Dawk, he still has all the heart and willingness to do his best on every play but his age is obviously holding him back some, still unbelievable play from a 38 year old though and still the vocal leader of the team.
- Who in the heck are our other safeties?
-Bailey and Goodman got burned bad and often by Plaxico, but each made game changing plays, Goodman the pick 6 and Bailey the stop on the WR at the line of scrimmage when Sanchez faked that he was gonna throw the ball on the ground to stop the clock, great awareness by Bailey there as always.
- Undrafted rookie Harris keeps impressing.
The O keeps us going crazy.
-Tebow is definitely one of the worse passer of the ball I have ever seen in the NFL, and he is not helped any by the WR drops that keep happening over and over, but give me a break, it used to be Orton to Lloyd, Orton to Lloyd, Orton to Lloyd, and now it’s Tebow to Decker, Tebow to Decker, Tebow to Decker, only difference is Lloyd used to make most of the catches, Decker drops a ton of them.
-Do we have any other WR?
- And not only that , Decker also had a killer stupid offside penalty on a crucial 3rd and one play, moving us back to 3rd and 6, inexcusable, all he has to do is look at the snap. Not impressed by Decker hardly at all yesterday except I think it was him that put the move on the guy behind the goal line to start the final drive successfully.
- Of course Tebow is all world running the ball and everyone knows that, fabulous 95 yard drive to clinch the game when he ran it 5 times including the winning TD.
-And Tebow keeps calling the stupidest time outs! Like the one with 3 seconds left to go in the third quarter I think it was, while there was still 4 on the time clock!!!
- Ball is a real good improvement over last year.
-MgGahee hopefully didn’t hurt his hammy further and I question playing him since at half speed he really couldn’t do much to help us.
-Wonderful to using FBs again with Larsen gaining 4 or 5 yards each time we give him the direct hand off.
- Rosario is the guy Fox cut only to sign him back later on and he has made major big plays in the last couple of games, kudos to him.
-Do we have any other TEs?
-Cassius Vaughn on special teams had a great return to the Jets’ 40 which resulted in zero points but it went to his head and got him to get completely carried away returning all other KOs from deep in the end zone putting us in the hole multiple times, we missed Cosby back there bad.
- Colquitt had one of the most beautiful punt I have ever seen, and I’ve seen plenty, when he hit it long to the goal line and it bounced straight up high in the air dropping back down at the half yard line and my boy Willis was there to down it, awesome.
- Fox has got to quit this mentality of his to go for it on 4th down near the 20 when we would of had an easy FG, crucial points specially in close defensive battle games like this one. Inexcusable to go for it and I don’t give a rat’s arse about what the bloggers will say who want to argue with me about that, no disrespect.
Overall the usual 50 minutes of pain on O only salvaged by the D and the exhilarating last 5 minutes of the game by Tebow who saves the day.
Elway and Tebow have one thing in common that is as visible as the nose on my face:
With them at the helm, we are never out of it!
Never thought I’d see anything even remotely the same after Elway, but no matter how bad Tebow is at passing the ball, his shear determination is enough to give us a shot in every game, so far anyway, short career of course, LOL.
Orton 1-4
Tebow 4-1
Any questions?
Couldn’t be happier. The last few years have been so disappointing that I have forgotten what it’s like to have hope we can be in any game. It’s not that Tebow is doing this alone, but since the change our entire TEAM has risen to the challenge. What a great pick Von has been. He has literally CHANGED our defense and changed the outcome of games. What an impact player. All of the Tebow talk has taken away from the Von Miller show. I’m very glad we chose him in the draft over Dareus. PP has also been a game changer for the Cards, but not like Von. With Doom playing well and Von stepping up QB’s fear our rush! AFC offensive rookies of the year: AJ Green and Von Miller.
I believe it was Royal that got away behind the goaline to start the last drive.
If are playing bad football with Tebow and winning and were we playing good football with Orton and losing..or were we playing bad fotball and still losing?
Can’t we all just happy that were finally winning some games? I know I am!
I thought it might of been Royal, thanks Brian, in this case Decker really sucked, LOL.
Bay: it was Royal who made that move in the end zone.
Well Carnage I love me some bad football right now…because guess what? We have a chance to go to the playoffs..wen was the last time we could say that after week 11…was that bad snap fumble sanchez recovered a sack by Von? We’re going to beat the chargers too, their offense is beat up and our run D and pass rush is starting to become ridiculously impressive.
Do you suppose the “lefty” spin of the ball takes some getting used to and that’s why we’re dropping so may decently thrown passes?
Congratulations to oldsouthstander and just another reason I have stopped making predictions. The other reason is that the Broncos have not lost since I stopped doing predictions. Whilst I know that isn’t the reason we are winning I never want to tempt fate.
I was the first one to make that point here about three days ago Brian, yes I think the ball spinned by a lefty backwards is a major adjustement for those used to be thrown to by right handed QBs.
I said this once and Ill say it again lol
OMG! is it me or is Decker just stinky these last 2 games??? yes Tebow threw maybe 2 uncatchable passes his way but there have been several key passes in Deckers hands or in his chest that shoulda been caught! to me thats the dif. between Orton and Tebow, Orton had Loyd and Gaffney, 2 WR that would catch anything thrown their way, they made Ortons passing stats look good…Im telling you now if Tebow had someone that could catch anything thrown their way, it would be a dif story for Tebow critics…and Im not sure Im impressed with the Mccoy play calling??? why mix it up in 2 drives and than call NOTHING for 2 and a half quarters??? are you kidding me? the fact that Tebow can play and pull out wins with those issues working against him is a un-noticed MIRACLE in its self!
GOOO BRONCOS!!!
I wrote my thought out last night….
http://curtssportsthoughts.blogspot.com/2011/11/what-i-think-i-just-saw.html
I’m gald to see someone congratulate oldsouth, it is well deserved trust me it’s a very tough contest and by now you can’t call what he has done pure luck, lots of Bronco football experience has gone into those predictions for sure.
I can respect Carnage’s stance that we played poorly for the most part BUT hyrule hit the nail on the head. The team is playing with more desire and will since the QB change. You can tell that they all feel it by the way they piled on Tebow on the final TD run, it’s that determination –that “fire in the belly,” if you will, that says whatever happens it’s not over until the final whistle blows until the clock reads all zeros. They believe in each other and that, more than anything is what counts the most.
-Royalty
I don’t think Tebow needs to be strictly a pocket passer, he won’t be sucessful if that’s what we try to do with him. He does however need to pass the ball better, more accuracy and touch. Even if they don’t lead to TDs, just the simple fact to be more balanced and to help sustain drives on 3rd and long situations. I honestly don’t think Tebow will put up Brady, Brees, or Manning like numbers but if he continues to lead us to vicotries he probably doesn’t care about stats. I’d just like to see him more balanced is all.
Man I can’t step away for a second come back and type out my thoughts without somebody (TRB) saying exacly what I said lol I need to refresh before typing. haha
Field position is so important that our special teams need to cover our punts better. Too many brilliant punts by Colquitt were allowed to go into the end-zone and I want to see these fielded within the 5 yard line.
I knew it..I knew it, oldsouthstander stole my DeLorean. Haha
Just kiddin’ congrats oldsouthstander, I think having 25 points at this point of the season is a record or something.
I have one question open to the masses.
Does our kind of football remind you of a certain era we had in the past which eventually led us to SB victories?
See no reason why we cant win 4 of are last 6. In fact the way we are playing I believe we can beat any team left on the schedule. If this pass rush continues to improve I might actually feel sorry for Cutler.
Great earlier post Bay, agree with you pretty much throughout that one.
We need to see better and more play out of our young safties. I know they have some good plays here and there but would like to see more. I am still excited about them, or at least still have high hopes for them. I guess it may come with more playing time and later a full of season.
Yep Tebow still has a lot of work to do in the passing game. Though if you look at his bad throws, they are not as bad as a few weeks ago. So bad but not as bad is better….right? I think he can improve it and get much better, he has to strong of a work ethic and will not too. I love the kid, exciting to watch and like many have said, makes you feel like you always have a chance!
I was sad to see Champ get beat as much as he did last night. He did not give up a TD but does give up more 1st downd or bigger gains these days. But I will say he always seems to make up for it with some big plays. Still one of my ffavorate players!
Bay- giving DJ credit…wow…whats in the air? Sorry bud just giving you a hard time!!
Just in case people are thinking I am predicting us winning all the remaining games I am not. What I am saying is we can win against any of the remaining teams on the schedule.
Thanks, and as always I call it as I see it, DJ made a couple key plays last night.
Yeah, all of a sudden my 6-10 doesn’t look so good….
Personally I think the team played well, particularly the defence. Obviously offensively we were unable to convert 3rd downs but this will change as Tebow gains more experience. The lock out was damaging to his development and using Orton at the beginning of the season was a mistake which also delayed his development. Next season we will see further improvement.
No way someone actually brought a Goodman sign to the game right? Someone from the marketing department had to have passed that out.
Curt
Yeah I predicted 6-10 as well and was thinking the same last night, also I haven’t been on the board since Orton was QB he was so much more predictable lol I can just feel myself slipping into darkness with the score predictions but as long as we keep winning you can throw all that out of the window as far as i’m concerned…
