November 26th, 2009 - 7:59pm by Zach Eisendrath

Q3 – 15:00: Remember, you can watch tonight’s Thanksgiving matchup LIVE on NFL Network and online with NFL.com/LIVE’s Online Extra. To access the online broadcast, click here.

Q3 – 2:38: Buckhalter returns Lawrence Tynes’ second-half kickoff to the Denver 21-yard line. Moreno gets the carry on first down, picking up 10 yards to move the chains moments into the second half.

Q3 – 13:12: Out of shotgun on first down, Orton fires to Marshall down the left sideline. After snagging the ball with his left hand, Marshall gains total possession of the ball — picking up 33 yards and setting Denver’s offense up at the New York 36.

Q3 – 12:22: After a one-yard run by Moreno and a six-yard completion from Orton to Marshall, Denver faces a 3rd and 3 from the New York 29.

Q3 – 12:13: On 3rd and 3, Orton has a pass that was intended for Brandon Stokley intercepted by Terrell Thomas. Thomas returns the ball 24 yards to the New York 40.

*NOTE: With his sack of Eli Manning in the first half, Elvis Dumervil now has 13 sacks in 2009 — a new career high. His previous career high was 12.5 sacks in 2007.

Q3 – 11:30: On New York’s first offensive play of the second half, Jacobs rumbles his way through the right side of Denver’s defense for a five-yard gain.

Q3 – 11:00: After Manning connects with Manningham for a 12-yard gain into Denver territory, Jacobs is stopped for a loss of two at the Denver 43.

Q3 – 9:30: Manning finds Kevin Boss for a 10-yard completion on second down and Manningham tip-toes the left sideline to make a 10-yard catch on 3rd and 2, once again moving the chains for New York.

Q3 – 9:25: The Broncos are challenging the ruling on the field of a completed pass from Manning to Manningham along the sideline.

Q3 – 9:24: After reviewing the play, the official says the call on the field stands. On 1st and 10 from the 24, Jacobs gets the carry. Moving to his left, Jacobs is swarmed by a host of Broncos and he losses three yards on the play.

Q3 – 8:32: Pressured on second down, Manning tries to dump the ball off to Jacobs, but he can’t hold on — bringing up 3rd and 13. On third and long, Manning — operating out of the shotgun — connects with Smith. He is brought down by Wesley Woodyard short of the first down marker, bringing up fourth down.

Q3 – 7:55: On fourth down, Tynes connects on a 39-yard field goal, giving New York its first points of the game.

BRONCOS 16, GIANTS 3

Q3 – 7:29: Orton hands off to Moreno for a two-yard gain on first down. On second down, Orton operates out of the shotgun and finds Marshall streaking across the middle. That play is good for 10 yards, giving Denver a first down at its own 37-yard line.

Q3 – 6:14: Following his blockers, Buckhalter picks up two yards along the right side of the defense on first down. On second down Buckhalter’s number gets called again. This time he rushes to the left for two more yards, bringing up 3rd and 6 from the Denver 41-yard line.

Q3 – 5:18: On third down, Moreno lines up out wide to the left as a wide receiver. Orton throws his way, but the rookie running back can’t hold on to the pass and Mitch Berger is on to punt.

Q3 – 5:17: Berger’s punt sails 51 yards. Hixon returns to the punt six yards before David Bruton makes a nice tackle to stop the returner from gaining any more yardage on the play. New York will begin with the ball at its own 14-yard line.

Q3 – 4:37: On first down, Manning fires complete to Smith for a gain of seven. Dawkins delivered a strong hit on Smith to bring the wideout down. On sescond and short, Jacobs gains two yards, bringing up 3rd and 1.

Q3 – 3:37: On third and short, Manning tosses the ball to D.J. Ware, who rumbles along the right sideline for a 14-yard gain before being taken down by Dawkins.

Q3 – 2:39: Forced out of the pocket on 1st and 10 from the New York 37, Manning misfires while looking for Smith along the left sideline. On 2nd and 10, Manning looks Smith’s way again, finding the wideout for a 30-yard reception.

Q3 – 1:55: With pressure coming from Dawkins on first down from the Denver 33, Manning overthrows his intended receiver, Hixon. On 2nd and 10, Manning throws a screen pass to Jacobs, who heads downfield for a 13-yard gain and a first down at the Denver 20-yard line.

Q3 – 1:11: On first down, Denver’s defensive front forces Manning out of the pocket and he throws incomplete to Hixon. On second and long, Manning — operating out of the shotgun — hands off to Jacobs. Boss is called for holding on the play, bringing the ball back to the Denver 30-yard line.

Q3 – 0:53: On 2nd and 20, Manning throws complete to Ware for a four-yard loss. Steve Smith was called for offensive interference on the play, but the Broncos have declined the penalty — bringing up 3rd and 24.

Q3 – 0:50: Manning fires to Smith along the left side of the field on 3rd-and-24, but Smith can’t hold on to the pass. Tyne is on the field to a ttempt a 52-yard field goal.

Q3 – 0:31: Tynes connects on the 52-yard field goal to bring the Giants to within 10.

BRONCOS 16, GIANTS 6

Q3 – 0:30: Marcus Thomas was down on the field following the field goal attempt. Accompanied by trainers, he walked off the field under his own power.

Q3 – 0:28: Taking Tynes’ kickoff five-yards deep from the end zone, Buckhalter notches a 41-yard kickoff return, giving Denver nice starting field position at its own 36-yard line. Moreno rushes for five yards on the final play of the third quarter, setting up a 2nd-and-5 play for the Broncos when the fourth quarter begins.

END OF THIRD QUARTER: BRONCOS 16, GIANTS 6

Q4 – 10:34: Polumbus is back in the game for the Broncos.

Q4 – 10:15: On third down, Orton fires a pass across the field to Brandon Stokley for a 17-yard touchdown. Stokley was wide open on the play. The Broncos have regained their 16-point advantage.

Q4 – 9:46: Jacobs get the carry on first down, rushing for five yards before running out of run along the left sideline.

Q4 – 9:30: Manning goes play-action on second down and finds Nicks across the middle of the field to move the chains. On the very next play, however, Dumervil drills Manning. The ball comes loose from Manning’s grasp and Williams recovers the ball — giving Denver’s offensive unit possession at the New York 36-yard line.

Q4 – 9:20: Moreno rushes up field for a six-yard gain on first down. He runs off the field holding his hand following the play.

Q4 – 6:20: Following a one-yard run by Buckhalter on first down, Orton connected with Scheffler for an eight-yard gain on second down. On 3rd-and-1, Buckhalter patiently waited to find a hole and gained two yards to move the chains once again.

Q4 – 8:20: After Moreno headed to the sideline, Buckhalter came in at running back and cut to the left for a 10-yard run and a Dnever first down at the New York 20-yard line.

Q4 – 5:10: After a one-yard loss on 1st-and-Goal, Orton couldn’t connect with Marshall in the south end zone, bringing up third down from the 10-yard line.

Q4 – 5:04: After an encroachment penalty on the Giants, the Broncos hand the ball of to Buckhalter on third down from the five. Prater is on to attempt a 24-yard field goal.

Q4 – 5:02: Prater’s 24-yard field goal goes through the uprights and the Broncos are now up by 20.

BRONCOS 26, GIANTS 6

**INJURY UPDATE Wesley Woodyard left the game with a neck injury and he has been ruled out of tonight’s contest.

Q4 – 4:55: Prater’s kickoff results in a touchback, so the Giants start at their own 20-yard line. Manning completes an 11-yard pass to Manningham on first down.

Q4 – 4:02: After a four-yard run by Jacobs, Manning connects with Steve Smith — bringing up 3rd-and-1.

Q4 – 3:32: Hurried on 3rd-and-1, Manning quickly gets rid of the ball and throws incomplete. On 4th-and-1 Manning dives forward to gain one yard and move the chains.

Q4 – 2:30: After Manning connects with Smith on first down and throws an incomplete pass on second down, the Giants face 3rd-and3 from their own 49-yard line. Andre’ Goodman intercepts Manning’s pass, giving the ball back to Denver’s offense with under three minutes to play.

Q4 – 2:00: Back in the game, Moreno gets taken down for a loss of one on first down. The Broncos will have a 2nd-and-11 facing them following the two-minute warning.

Q4 – 1:55: Buckhalter rumbles through the middle of New York’s defense on second down, picking up six yards on the carry.

Q4 – 1:50: After Buckhalter rushes to the right for no gain on third down, the Giants use their third and final timeout.

Q4 – 1:39: Berger’s punt travels 37 yards. New York takes over possession at its own 7-yard line.

Q4 – 1:27: Manning completes a 13-yard pass to Nicks on first down, bringing New York to its own 20-yard line. On the next play, Manning fires a seven-yard completion to Manningham along the right side of the field.

Q4 – 1:12: Manning completes a 36-yard pass to Nicks, brining New York to the Denver 37-yard line.

Q4 – 1:10: On first down from the Denver 37, Manning fired deep to the north end zone, looking for Manningham. Manningham, however, couldn’t come up with the catch.

Q4 – 0:00: On the final play of the game, Manning completes a 7-yard pass to Manningham.

FINAL SCORE: BRONCOS 26, GIANTS 6

I got to see Fetcher play 4 games from 91-94 (2 at Den & 2 at Minn)and he was the most underrated studd pass rusher ever.He was one of my favorite D players. It will be pretty cool when Doom beats his team record. Simon had i think the 3rd most sacks from 90-95 only R White and B Smith had more .

  2. royalbroncofan1 says:

Oakland and KC have given up quite a few sacks so Elvis could rack up a few there. Indy has a great line and Peyton has a quick release, however some stunts could free up Elvis. Eagles have a decent line. Nine could happen..we’ll see. Fletcher’s record is definitely obtainable.
Love the chant at Invesco when Elvis gets a sack these days, or least in our section.

  3. gdingel says:

Big Win for Broncos!! Defense played outstanding sound football. Orton played well and Moreno ran well and held on to the football. Marshall had great game coming up with big plays. This is the way Denver needs to play the rest of the season 10 wins we make the playoffs 9 wins it could be questionable. Really looking forward to game against KC I am going to the game and no matter what the temp. Go Broncos!!!

  4. Marshallman-15 says:

I’m not sure WHO I want to win Sunday… Obviously I absolutely HATE San Diego & I want them to lose, but after beating Pittsburgh & the Chargers, they may have some momentum we can’t handle. The trouble is, Kansas City gets crushed so we can guarantee a Wild Card. San Diego gets their lungs ripped out, but then if we lose to Kansas City, then we may lose the Wild Card race & the Divisional.

    Tell me what you think

  5. Marshallman-15 says:

When I said “they” unclearly, I was talking about KC.

  6. baylinorcrush says:

It’s all about winning the division, the playoff thing tends to make people forget about that, of course I want KC to beat SD. That’s what I think about it.

  7. baylinorcrush says:

I want to win the division so bad, I am still real mad at our team for laying an egg against SD, that loss will sting big time if we don’t win the division, it was a must game in my eye, we blew that one big time, at home and SD didn’t even play that good, they just ran 203 yards on us, horrible.

  8. baylinorcrush says:

I am like an elephant, I don’t forget the bad, that was the worse game we played this year and we did that in the very one game we had to have… Only way for me to ease the pain is for us to win the division, if we don’t I will not be a happy camper and will let you guys know it. LOL.
I mean they went from rags to riches in 4 days, what’s up with that?

  9. baylinorcrush says:

And don’t forget one thing, no matter what we do in post season, if we go in there as a wild card the SD fans will let us hear it all year about them winning the division. IMO, If we get in the playoffs as a wild card, anything less than winning the AFC championship will not make up for us losing the division because of that must win game we lost last Sunday to the Chargers. It is what it is, so let’s win the division, starting with KC beating SD Sunday.

  10. baylinorcrush says:

Does anyone has any doubts where I stand? LOL.

  11. Seeingisbelivin says:

This was a game we need to win. The hole team played very well, the O finely found the endzone, the run game looked good, just need to keep it up and more of it. Win the division one game at a time. Lets start with the KC and then the Colts. This Sunday KC has to play well to beet SD.
NE has to play well agenst the Colts. WE CAN TAKE THE DIVISION ONE GAME AT A TIME.

    GO BRONCOS!!!!

  12. Seeingisbelivin says:

Im bad NE at NO and NE and the Colts So Sorry.

  13. oldsouthstander says:

I just read the article of the 25 HOF finalists. I said that at most 3 Broncos would be on it. Amazing, only Shannon and TD are on it. What are their chances? Consider this:
    Shoe-in-first ballot: Jerry Rice
    Emmitt Smith
Second Ballot: Chris Carter who should have made it last year, but the word on the street was that the voters didn’t want Cater in before Rice got in.
Others passed over too long: One of the Hogs will finally make, should have happened years ago.
Nonplayer: Either Art Modell, Paul Tagliabu (SP?) or Don Corryell will make it.
That’s five. A maximum of 6 can be voted into the HOF each year. TD has no chance. Shannon is up against some player like Richard Dent who should have been elected years ago. Fifty-fifty at best for Shannon thanks once again to the East coast/Dallas Cowboys influence.
How about Floyd? A maximum of one old timer can be named each year. Unfortunately, this is his one and only shot as an old-timer. The only hope he has is that the old timers committee feels that Dick LeBeau will make it some day as coach. LeBeaus figures are very, very, very impressive. Some 30 years after his retirement he’s still number three in interceptions in a career.

  14. Marshallman-15 says:

Well, I’m not sure what the odds are that either come in. Terrell Davis had the skill, but not the length of a career. At least they gave him a shot & compared him to Doak Walker & other really good players w/ short careers. Shannon Sharpe definitely should, but probably won’t because no experts really like Denver lol.

  15. stevecan2 says:

I too like someone else have watched a few games in KC. The last however was when Dante Hall returned the kick off, with about 6 clips. You are right baylin, way to soon to trust a forecast in KC. What it will take is a running back tandom of Moreno, Buck and hell would McD please let Hillis run the ball. As for the team only meeting headed up by Dawkins, who better to lead that meeting? I could imagine Dawk up front telling the guys, this is it, lay it all out. Get it off your chest and what ever is said today is left here today.

  16. FTR says:

Baylin whats the over under on KC vs. Dolts in Vagas it’s never to early-Ha>>> Just Joking

  17. FTR says:

I would like to see a new blog started on the Hall of Fame posts. We have gone over 400 on this one. And I do not want to miss a post like oldsouthstander’s. Please Mr DP man!

  18. FTR says:

After all we have a few days to enjoy our win and vist the past a bit!!
    My 2 cents!!
    FTR

  19. FTR says:

Correction Mr DB man>>Not the Denver Post man.-HA

  20. tnalen66 says:

It’s a shame that Atwater did not make the cut. He was defensive rookie of the year, 9 probowls,3 SB 2 SB wins. Teams would not throw near him cuz of the hits he put on . The only knock on him is that he did not have alot of interceptions cuz no one threw near him. He should be a head of Branch, Greene and a few others. Well I hope 2 make it this year Sharpe and Little (FRANCHIZE) only OJ had more yards doing his playing years.

  21. tnalen66 says:

Stevecam2 That is the game where Delta ONeil ran one back for us and they called a bogus holding call? I remember a game in KC where Morton Andersen missed a FG and the refs let him rekick it cuz they were not in “PROPER POSSITION” and he made the rekick and we lost by 2 pts. I think it might have been that CLIP GAME. It aways seems KC gets alot of breaks in KC.

  22. RockyMts69 says:

Stevecan2, I totally agree with you!

Coach McDaniels…, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND THE SAKE OF THIS TEAM PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEASE LET PEYTON HILLIS PLAY NEXT WEEK AGAINST KC!!!

HILLIS IS A BEAST! YOU MUST LET HIM OFF HIS LEASH!!!!!

    I’M BEGGING YOU!!!!!!

  23. baylinorcrush says:

FTR, I should of never told you that (about the Giants SB), LOL. It was just a joke I was never even at that game, hahahaha. No really, I have to wait for KC to play their game against SD before the line comes out, LOL.

  24. baylinorcrush says:

I won’t bet on the SD game, but the Denver game….. you never know.

  25. baylinorcrush says:

BTW, the Chargers are favorite by 12.5 to 13.5 against KC in Vegas.
KC gets no respect, even after beating the Steelers… We need a major upset!

  26. Orange_Crusher says:

    ala….Yoda

Where you stand I do not doubt, young jedi baylinor…

You are much like an elephant, and the laying of eggs invokes a real madness inside of you! To be stung big time, you cannot stand! Humm..?

While your eye beholds the must win that we cannot blow, your memory is fresh with the one we just blew big time. Ease the pain you will, only by winning the division, eh?

Listen not, to fans of a team that has never won the SB. Their revelry in winning the division can be easily defeated. Premature jubilance will only serve their self deception by giving us the edge in motivation…..humm?

We Must Use The Orange Force!!!

    kiddin!

  27. baylinorcrush says:

Sharpe should be a shoe in for the HOF. He revolutionized the TE position, played a long career and won 3 SB’s with two different teams. I believe he will get in and be the only Bronco to do so.

TD won’t get in because of the short career, he was like a shooting star, came to the league, immediately exploded and faded away thereafter. Too many great backs more deserving who did it over long periods of time.

Little had the stats but unfortunately played on a Bronco team that accomplished very little, no pun intended, LOL. While he was a Bronco they only had two winning seasons, 7-5-2 in 73 and 7-6-1 in 74, other than that 7 losing season, couple that to the fact that before him we had only one 500 season (62) and 6 losing ones. So obviously it can be argued he is the reason we finally got a winning season in the NFL after 13 years (and he did it the following year), but that’s not enough team achievements to earn you the respect of HOF voters. Let’s face it, we were the Cleveland browns of the NFL back then. LOL.

Of course those are just my opinions about how I view their chances, doesn’t mean I agree with it, but unfortunately, I am afraid that’s the way the votes will go.

  28. baylinorcrush says:

    OC, LMAO…

  29. Marshallman-15 says:

Alright, does anybody bet money on Kansas City? I’d have to bet like at least a dime, but hopefully by the end of the game I’ll wish I bet more lol

  30. Marshallman-15 says:

Yeah, I know, I’m weird. This is random (and weird lol) but does anyone else agree Emmit Smith & Jerry Rice shoulda been in the HoF years ago?

  31. FTR says:

baylin: It’s all good! It was bad of me to think we were picking any other games besides the Bronco games anyway. I play two free pick-um games through a Vegas site. But telling me that false story about the New York Super bowl game!! That’s a bad on you and a shame on me! Its all fun and games! You put it out there and I bit on it. No harm done. I just will be careful in the future.
    FTR

  32. broncofan2639 says:

oldsouthstander: No I don’t remember Jackie Lee. I have one for you. Do you remember the 5’7″ QB we had? If he was even 5’7″ tall. He might have been even shorter.

  33. baylinorcrush says:

FTR, I was just kiddind, didn’t you see the LOL’S and HAHAHA, of course I went to that game and everything I said is what happened, I am not a b.sh!ter, I just said that in an attempt to get you of my back about the betting thing, that’s all. If I type it , that’s because it’s real, man, you can put it in the bank. And I don’t have that much imagination anyway…

  34. Orange_Crusher says:

    Baylinor,

Tell me this? How can Gayle Sayers be in the HOF with:
    7 seasons
    4,956 yards rushing
    48 TD’s
    most yards in season 1,231

Terrell Davis isn’t even considered with:
    8 seasons
    7,607 yards rushing
    65 TD’s
most yards in a season 2,008, joining the elete club of 4 others ever!
    2 Superbowls, MVP..ete.etc

    WUWT?!!!! (what’s up with that?)

  35. baylinorcrush says:

Unless you stick to very flat out plain facts while blogging, everybody gets it, if you venture into humorous, sarcastic or whatever emotion you want to let on, it usually doesn’t work becuse it cannot be conveyed through just words, it would have to be heard as to pick up on the tone of the conversation. I did what I thought was my best but accomplish nothing but a huge misunderstanding and I feel bad about it. Sorry you took it like that FTR, rest assured I would never toy with a blogger, that’s just not my style, I’ll be more carefull in the future.

  36. FTR says:

Baylin good to hear. Like I said forget it. Were good. No more betting crap. On to KC!!
    FTR

  37. baylinorcrush says:

OC, excellent point, but the difference is Sayers made most of his yards on his own, and in an incredible fashion, TD got most of his yard because of the O line and in a very straight up through the gaps type of running, unflashy if you want. Bottom line at that time most RB’s were running up big numbers in our O, didn’t matter who was in, the system made it happen. That’s really what stands out to me.

  38. Orange_Crusher says:

    Bay,

You said “Too many great backs more deserving who did it over long periods of time”.

Can you give me some names and stats of these guys who are waiting in line in front of TD for the HOF?

  39. baylinorcrush says:

    FTR, thanks, I feel better.

  40. baylinorcrush says:

The main one is Ricky Watters, 10, 643 yards, multiple superbowls and he has been snubbed. Also not yet eligible, but almost, Curtis Martin 14,101, jerome Bettis, 13,662 and Marshall Faulk 12,279. You just can’t get them all in.

  41. baylinorcrush says:

And I forgot Emmit Smith, who probably will be elected in this time around with 18,355 yards, NFL record.

  42. Marshallman-15 says:

This is really random… but I found the closest thing to McDaniels throwback hoodie – it’s in customizable gear on nflshop and it shows a brownish hoodie w/ an old school Broncos helmet on the front – you can customize it light blue but you can only like put symbols on it.

  43. baylinorcrush says:

OC, back to TD, he had a seven year career, not 8, 95- 2001, and he got most of his yardage the first 4 years, the last three he was always hurt, and got 211, 282 and 701 respectively. In essence, he had a 4 year career, that’s the way I always think of him, after that what I remember most about him was sitting on the sidelines.

  44. footballMANIAC says:

Definitely going to be rooting for KC tomorrow. I would rather play KC with full momentum than beat the crap out of them with no momentum. If KC can beat SD, the Broncos will be in the lead for the division again. I’d much rather be in the driver’s seat, especially since SD can no longer do anything about it.

  45. Orange_Crusher says:

bay, Go to this link, says 8 yrs nfl experience.

    http://www.nfl.com/players/terrelldavis/careerstats?id=DAV766905

  46. baylinorcrush says:

OC, funny, ahahah, go to the link, read his 2002 stats, 0 carries for 0 yards. LOL.

  47. baylinorcrush says:

Honest OC, he really had a 4 year career, worthy of mention anyway.

  48. baylinorcrush says:

Anyway, I work hard at answering your questions with all kinds of stats, and the best you come up with in response is the 8 year thing? You’re pulling my leg, right? LOL.

  49. baylinorcrush says:

Last thing for tonight. TD had 6413 yards in his first 4 years, and 1194 in his last 4 (if you count the last year in which he never played). On this note, goodnight all. GO BRONCOS, GO CHIEFS.

  50. oldsouthstander says:

    Broncofan
I think it was Marlin Briscoe. In a way, he was a “wildcat” RB/WR/QB.
    Marshallman
This is the first year of elegability for both Smith and Rice. Remember you have to have been retired 5 years before you’re elegabile for the first time.
I watched the NFL network’s rebroadcast of their show revealing the 25 finalists. They did a lengthy segment on TD, but most of what they talked about was Gayle Sayers. When the talked about Shannon they memtioned that he had the most yardage of any TE when he retired, but never mentioned the fact that when he retired he also had the most TD’s and catches. I small a screw job coming on.
