15:00: Falcons start the second quarter with a first down at the Broncos 36-yard line… Great play by Dre’ Bly as he trips up Michael Turner for a 4-yard loss.
14:00: On third down Ryan scrambles in and out of the pocket and hits Michael Jenkins for the first down. Ryan may have been beyond the line of scrimmage, and looks like Head Coach Mike Shanahan wants the officials to take another look at it.
As those of you who watched last Sunday night’s Giants and Eagles game know, all parts of the body must be beyond the line of scrimmage for it to be an illegal forward pass.
After review, the call on the field stands, Ryan was not beyond the line of scrimmage. First down Falcons at the Broncos 20-yard line.
13:25: On second down, Brian Finneran got by Josh Bell but he could not catch up to the Ryan pass. Bringing up third down. Defensive coordinator Bob Slowik brings the pressure and Calvin Lowry knocks down Ryan’s attempt. Fourth down and out comes Elam. From 36-yards, Elam is good.
Broncos 7- Falcons 6 — 12:33 remaining before halftime.
12:33: Tatum Bell and Eddie Royal are back deep for the Broncos. Royal fields it and heads up field weaving in and out all the way to the Falcons 38-yard line. A 58-yard return for Royal.
12:17: Jay Cutler tries to hit Brandon Marshall on third down, but the ball bounces off Atlanta’s Chris Houston. Matt Prater comes out for a 49-yard attempt, but misses it wide left. First down Falcons at their 39-yard line.
With Royal’s return, he now has made a play of at least 58 yards in Denver’s last three games. (Thanks to Erich Schubert for that nugget.)
11:27: Two consecutive Turner runs and the Falcons are facing a third down…. Turner bounces off tacklers, but looks like he is about a yard short. Nice play by Marquand Manuel to come up from his safety spot.
9:15: On fourth down, the Falcons draw Dewayne Robertson offsides and get the first down.
9:07: Ryan looks deep on first down, but he cannot connect with Roddy White… After a short Turner run, the Falcons face third down. Ryan in the gun, is pressured and throws it up to White who makes a grab in front of a diving Bly and moves the ball inside the Broncos 10-yard line. 37 yards on that play. Bly had good coverage again, but White — who is making quite a name for himself — is able to make the grab.
On the following play, Turner takes it into the endzone for the Falcons touchdown. Elam’s point after is good.
Falcons 13 – Broncos 7, 7:34 remaining.
7:34: Royal is back deep again, and finds a hole. It closed quickly, but Royal still made it to the Broncos 41-yard line.
7:15: After a short Peyton Hillis run, the Broncos are flagged for a false start bringing up a long second down. Reverse to Royal — who gets a nice block from Cutler — and gains 12 yards. Third and short, Cutler pitches to Royal but it is sniffed out by Chauncey Davis for a 2-yard loss. Fourth down.
5:15: Brett Kern’s punt is fair caught by Finneran at the Atlanta 18-yard line.
5:05: After a short Turner run and a Ryan to Ovie Mughelli reception it is third and one for the Falcons… Turner follows a convoy of blockers for 12 yards and the first down.
3:00: Falcons call a timeout.
Ryan shows his athleticism on first down, picking up seven yards on his own. After a 2-yard carry by Turner, we are at the two-minute warning.
2:00: Third and one for the Falcons at their 48-yard line, Ryan fakes the handoff, rolls and keeps for the first down. 9-yard gain for Ryan.
1:16: Two consecutive incompletions and it is third and ten from the Broncos 44-yard line… Ryan tries to shovel the ball to Norwood, but it falls incomplete. Fourth down. Koenen punts to Royal who fair-catches it at the 15.
0:55: Broncos in the hurry up, Cutler quick to Stokley… Then hits Marshall, who picks up the first down.
Timeout Broncos.
Referee Peter Morelli just announced that they are going to take a look at the last play to see if Marshall got the first down. The call is overturned, and the Broncos are now facing a third and one from the 24-yard line.
0:30: Cutler in the shotgun with Hillis to his left, he looks but the pocket collapses and Cutler is sacked. Fourth and nine and the Falcons have called a timeout. Cutler was sacked by Jonathan Babineaux.
0:15: On fourth down, Kern hits a line drive to Douglas, who despite no one being within 20 yards of him, calls for the fair catch. First down Atlanta at their 43-yard line.
0:09: Ryan takes a knee and we are headed to halftime, with the Falcons up 13-7.
The Broncos will get the ball to start the second half.

Crap, our D is starting to fade, again… they have got to stay in the game and keep their heads in the game. We cannot afford another loss on behalf of our D. Maybe the 2nd half will be like the 2nd half against Cleveland… I’ll take that!!!!
GO BRONCOS!!!!
07elway, just calm down… we have backups in every LB position
So very true, breathingorangeandblue. They need to stop holding a grudge against us – its been what 2 months and we’re still getting bad calls. I’d say the refs got some issues to work out. The commentators said right before the game started that these refs are some of the best and I thought ‘yeah we’ll see about that – what bogus call are they gonna call against us’.
And Royal – you rock my man!!! This kid can run like the wind, whew! What a return. And Hillis – what a fighter. Keep it up.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!
Is there somewhere on the internet to get audio play by play of the game??
Bly sucks big time.
link anyone? have one, but its crappy
I am calm… or I was till our D just let Atlanta get a touchdown. Those backups better be more than just average if they want to stop this Falcons offense.
I’ve still got faith and we still have the entire 2nd half to go… that’s where our offense is going to shine. We get such good field position and then we drop passes left and right… they need to take complete advantage of the great field position Royal gets for us.
GO BRONCOS!!!!!!
OMG… whats happening with the O??
Ha, love seeing the Doom in action. Now the little birdies have to punt for once. We really need to score a TD before the half. Would be nice to be ahead for a change going into halftime.
GO BRONCOS!!!
I can’t watch this live i live on the other side of the world so i don’t no whats going on but we need to keep the faith in the boys and we’ll pull through
Well that was just dumb. To get that 3rd down… should’ve just done a QB sneak or something other than trying too hard and getting sacked. I love watching Cutler throw the ball BUT that was not the time to do it.
The end of this game might just come down to what Elam’s foot can do, which we all know can do just about anything. But this time whatever he does will be against us. All I can say is the 2nd half better be all about us on both sides of the ball. I know its hard but keep the faith guys… if we can win b/c we’re good and we played a smart game it will speak volumes about us and for us.
GO BRONCOS!!!!
Let’s go boy stick your head down and bums up and run that ball like a run away train
paddy, try this to watch live.

Even a child wouldn’t have called a Tatum Bell run on 3rd and 1
