11:06 a.m. EST: A hearty good morning to each and everyone of you from the Georgia Dome in Atlanta as the Broncos prepare to take on the Falcons.
Much like the players and coaches, those of us that work for the team are extremely superstitious. So since I was the blogger during last week’s victory game against the Browns, I will handle those duties again this weekend. Hopefully the results will be the same.
We are just under two hours from kickoff and the Broncos and Falcons passing units have taken the field to warm up. I am going to head on down to the field for some photos, but I shall be back directly with those and the inactives.
11:21 a.m. EST: Well I got a little side tracked before I headed down to the field, but I wanted to make mention that Champ Bailey is out on the field and going through a series of drills with strength and conditioning coach Rich Tuten. It is still unknown if Bailey will play, but we should know within the hour.
Also, former Broncos Jason Elam and Domonique Foxworth have taken the field and are meeting up with their former teammates and coaches.
Ok now I am off to the field.
11:54 a.m. EST: As promised, here are some photos.

11:57 p.m. EST: We just received the inactives from the PR staff. Although he returned to practice this week, Champ Bailey’s injured groin will not allow him to play this weekend and he is inactive. Also inactive for the Broncos; Marlon McCree, Selvin Young, Alex Haynes, D.J. Williams, Nate Webster, Nic Clemons and Tim Crowder.
For the Falcons; CB Brent Grimes, S Thomas DeCoud, LB Tony Gilbert, C Alex Stepanovich, T Sam Baker, DE Simon Fraser, DT Kindal Moorehead and D.J. Shockley is the Falcons third quarterback.
12:01 p.m. EST: Also a couple of lineup changes for both teams. For the Broncos Peyton Hillis starts at running back in place of Selvin Young, Calvin Lowry will start at free safety for Marlon McCree, Spencer Larsen will take Hillis’ spot at fullback and Wesley Woodyard will start for D.J. Williams.
For the Falcons, Todd Weiner starts at left tackle for Sam Baker.
12:22 p.m. EST: Also, in case you didn’t read it earlier in the week, Tatum Bell changed his number from 40 to 21.
12:35 p.m. EST: Both teams have concluded their warmups and are leaving the field.
12:50 p.m. EST: Introductions are about to kickoff, but looks like we will have a late arriving home crowd as their are plenty of empty seats throughout the Dome.
12:55 p.m. EST: The Broncos introduced their defense as a unit and the Falcons are introducing their defensive starters. It is very strange seeing Domonique Foxworth and Jason Elam in Falcon red.
This just in, Grady Jackson is huge…
12:58 p.m. EST: The captains are heading to midfield for the coin toss. The Broncos have called tails and it is heads. The Falcons have won the toss and they will receive.
See you all in the first quarter blog.

This is a huge game I really hope that we come to play!!!!
Good luck boys. We need this win
go broncos!
Is this game available on the net?
They have the Bears/Packers and the Ravens/Giants games on the local tube. Sucks
Cutler needs to show Ryan how it is done!!!
Man i was really hoping that champ would play this week!!!!! How many RBS will we have active today?
johnnie_sacks-
The active running backs and fullbacks are; Peyton Hillis, Tatum Bell, P.J. Pope and Spencer Larsen.
Who is starting in Webster’s place?
Any word why Tim Crowder isnt active for todays game? Also any idea when Marlon McCree will be back starting?
tough game to come but if we win , it could be a great statement !! Stop the run and don’t turn the ball over , we do both and the win is ours . Go Broncos .
orange blue man-
Honestly, not sure. On the depth chart it says it would be Niko Koutouvides, but we will see shortly.

Hate to be repetitive, but I don’t know why the coaches deemed Crowder as inactive. Most of the healthy inactives are determined by particular matchups that coaches see. That would be my guess for Crowder. As for McCree, I think he is still a week or two away.
Again, amazing job Kyle, loved your blog last week.
How do you expect the carries to be distributed?
Im thinking:
Bell – 10
Hillis – 10
Pope – 5
Larsen – 5

Thanks for the words. I think Hillis will handle the majority of the carries inside the 30s, with Bell handling the rest. So I think you are close, but I don’t think Larsen and Pope will get that many touches.
