15:00: It’s just been reported that Daniel Graham is out with a hamstring and his return is questionable.
15:00: Eddie Royal makes a grab past the defense all the way to the Dallas 27-yard line.
14:22: Brandon Marshall makes the grab and gets another first down before getting hit by two Cowboys at the 9-yard line.
13:43: Andre Hall gains 6 yards up the middle to the 3-yard line. Second and goal.
13:02: Cutler rolls right and finds Marshall in the back of the endzone for a touchdown. He runs to the stands and gives a lucky fan in the first row the ball. Prater runs out for the extra point with Brett Kern holding. It’s good. Broncos 14, Cowboys 0.
13:02: Prater kicks off to the back of the endzone, Stanback kneels nine yards deep in the endzone for a touchback.
12:56: Just an update while there’s a quick lull in the game — the offensive starters for the game were Jay Cutler, Selvin Young and Cecil Sapp in the backfield; Ryan Clady, Ben Hamilton, Casey Wiegmann, Chris Kuper and Ryan Harris on the line; Brandon Marshall and Eddie Royal at receiver and Daniel Graham at tight end.
12:56: All of the defensive starters are still in the game, except Kenny Peterson is in for Robertson at defensive tackle.
11:51: After a couple short gains the ball is at the Dallas 26 and it’s 3rd and 4 for the Cowboys. Romo is back to pass and Dumervil turns the corner and almost gets a sack. Romo lets a pass go and Sam Hurd was streaking down the middle of the field but it’s an overthrow — incomplete, 4th down.
11:32: Royal is back to receive McBriar’s punt and gains 4 yards to the 20, but there’s a block in the back and it’s 1st and 10 for the Broncos on their own 10-yard line. Cutler passes to Marshall and he gets past Anthony Henry and gains 6 yards before being brought down by Ken Hamlin.
11:00: Young gains two yards out to the right sideline and it brings up 3rd and 2. Nate Jackson beats Bradie James on a route toward the sideline and gets the first down on a quick throw from Cutler.
9:46: Young runs out toward the right sideline again and gains six yards on first down. Now Cutler takes a long drop but gets the ball out quickly to Stokley who gets enough for a first down (11 yards) at the 40-yard line.
8:36: Cutler rolls to the left, avoiding rushers and launches the ball downfield, just short of an open Marshall. But there’s pass interference on DeMarcus Ware on the play who was guarding Cecil Sapp, who was the intended receiver.
7:22: It’s 3rd and 5, and Cutler is in shotgun. he takes a quick drop and ties to squeeze the ball in to Andre Hall but the play is broken up by Bradie James. It was Cutler’s first incomplete pass after 12 consecutive completions. Brett Kern is in to punt. He kicks it into the endzone — 52 yards — and it’s a touchback. 1st and 10 for the Cowboys at their own 20.
7:08: The defensive starters are still in the game, with the exception of Peterson who is in the game for Robertson. Just to keep you updated. Brad Johnson is behind center for the Cowboys and he hands the ball off to Miles Austin on a wide receiver reverse and he’s dropped by Foxworth for a three-yard loss.
6:24: Third-and-2 for the Cowboys, complete pass for a first down to the running back out of the backfield. But there’s a flag on the play — tripping on Felix Jones, 10-yard penalty back to the 17-yard line and it brings up 3rd-and-13. Johnson in the shotgun, hit as he threw by Jarvis Moss and it brings up 4th down. The familiar cheer of “in-com-plete” rings throughout the stands.
5:36: Cutler’s pass incomplete to Brandon Stokley on 1st down.
4:52: Screen pass to Young on 3rd-and-12 and he’s brought down from behind to bring up 4th down.
4:36: Paulescu punts it to inside the 20 — Adam Jones is back to return. He makes a long run and it looks like he has something, but he’s stopped…by Paulescu. He gets up and spikes the ball and is called for delay of game. It brings the ball back to the 35-yard line, 1st and 10.
3:53: Felix Jones out to the right side on a pitch by Johnson, brought down by Jamie Winborn after a 3-yard gain.
3:36: Johnson in the shotgun, pass complete for a first down to Stanback at the 48-yard line.
3:00: Elvis Dumervil turns the corner on Flozell Adams and sacks Brad Johnson from behind at the line of scrimmage. It’s announced as a “no-yard-sack.”
2:28: D.J. Williams drills Dallas tight end Tony Curtis on the sideline after a 6-yard gain. He essentially picked him up and slammed him. It brings up 3rd and 4 at the 2:00 warning.
2:00: Dre’ Bly pumps up the crowd as the teams run back to the line of scrimmage. Johnson is in the shotgun with Felix Jones beside him. He drops back and lets a long spiral fly to the right side and Miles Austin comes away with it inside the 10 with Foxworth in tight coverage.
1:46: Denver calls its first timeout — a 30-second timeout — after McCree made a tackle after a 4-yard gain. It looked like the catch on the previous play might be reviewable — the Broncos may be trying to get the referees to review it. They don’t, and Dallas is back up to the line. Incomplete pass with D.J. Williams in coverage. He’s jacked up as he runs back to the huddle. 3rd and 5 on the 5 with 1:42 until halftime.
1:37: Miles Austin continues his hot streak on the drive, leaping high to come down with a Brad Johnson pass on the right side of the endzone. Nick Folk is in for the extra point and he makes it. Denver 14, Dallas 7.
1:37: Andre Hall and Eddie Royal are back to receive. Hall takes it at the two and makes it just past the 20. Sam Hurd makes the stop for the Cowboys and the starters jog back onto the field for a 1st and 10 at the 22. 1:32 to go. Timeout Dallas — a 30-second timeout.
1:32: Cutler’s pass is incomplete to Young. Second-and-10, Cutler’s pass is complete to Scheffler up the middle for 8 yards and the team rushes back up to the line. Selvin Young runs for a first down up the middle and the clock continues to run.
0:39: Young runs up the right side for three yards and leaps out of bounds. The team huddles back up. Second-and-7 on the 38-yard line with 33 seconds to go.
0:33: Denver uses its second timeout, another 30-second one. Cutler is in the shotgun and he completes it up the middle to Stokley for a first down, they use their final timeout with 26 seconds to go and a first down on the Cowboys 47.
0:26:Cutler, as he’s hit, gets the ball to a wide-open Brandon Marshall who turns and runs and gets the ball all the way to the 32. The team rushes to the line and Cutler spikes it with three seconds to go.
0:03: Prater sets up for the 49-yard field goal and misses it wide. At halftime the Broncos lead it by a touchdown, 14-7.

I’m so f****** excited right now
Jay Cutler is simply the best
cutler is nice
So much for the Cowgirls and how much bigger they are, huh?
I’m out here in California Country defending the Bronco name deep in RaiderNation. Can anyone tell me who started on the offensive line? Are they using Scheffler as a blocking tight end?
wow i love the broncos!
Good job D
other than the penalties….1st team look great tonite
WHy are they putting the first team back out on the field?
Damn good question, I wouldn’t have done it either. 9/9 for 120 and a TD is as good as you can hope for.
hbobbyt, they planned on playing the one’s about a half tonight
Lets go Broncos… damn im in California as well – the freakin’ Chargers game is on TV here – im reading all the updates I can – they sound hot tonight – GO BRONCOS!!!
I can’t get the game where I am. The run game appears really good. Who is doing the blocking at tight end? How well is Young picking the hole?
Preseason means JACK SHAT in the long run…..but so far in 2 games the O has showed up and SLUNG IT.

The play by play on NFL.com makes it look like there is no decent running to the left side. Is Clady the problem when they run left?
Megatraum you are my new favorite blogger….I bow down to you!

megatraun is the man
I hate it, but that was a NICE catch.
Austin is going to be a good guy for them.
Yeah, I like the way he went and got the ball. That’s so important, especially in the end zone. Anyway, still think the Broncos have looked sharp tonight.
BUT….that was no CHAMP covering him either…just ask BRADY!
Gray….YOU ARE DA MAN in this blog….
Did Tony HOMO say they moved the ball?
Time to bring in some competition at kicker
Yeah, he really made it sound like the cowgirls weren’t that bad tonight. Bottom line………..Denver looked WAY better and they know it!
Big Legs = Big Misses
Jay Feeley is available just cut by the Tuna. Prater is not going to cut it.
hi gary, any updates on the injury to barret and graham. thanks in advance. keep up the good work!
Pumped up by the Bronco play. Remember this Dallas team spanked us last year at this time. We seriously need a kicker. We drive down at the end of half and wide left. Not exceptible…..West Coast
megatraun –
Barrett was reported “OK” after the opening kickoff, and Daniel Graham is still listed as questionable. I’ll keep all of you updated on who’s in in the second half. As a starter Graham might not have seen much time in the second half anyway in the second preseason game.
-Gray
thank you for that link!!
Gray, is there a problem with 3rd quarter notes? Prater has a HELL of a leg, but MAN, how can he MISS like he does??????? I say bring in Feeley as well…..
And THAT’S why Webster should NOT start at MLB
I think Clemons will earn a spot over a vet…not going to name names….but I think if you follow the team you know who I mean…
