4:51 PM MST: The grounds crew at INVESCO Field at Mile High is taking the tarp off the field on what has been a very rainy Saturday. We’re only a couple hours from kickoff now, so stay here for updates. I’m going to go down and grab some pictures with Jake Grilley to give you a little taste of what it looks like on the field. Be back in a few.
5:36 PM MST: All right, back with some pictures.

5:39 PM MST: It’s a little cold on the field — a lot of the players are wearing long sleeves and pants during warm-ups. Tom Nalen was on the field in jeans and a rain jacket, signing a few autographs for fans who gathered in the front row.
5:40 PM MST: Most of the Broncos have left the field for right now. Brandon Marshall is running routes near the sideline, and Brett Kern and Sam Paulescu are practicing holds while Matt Prater kicks field goals from a tee. That’s about it for right now.
5:54 PM MST: The inactives for the game were just released. Boss Bailey, Champ Bailey, Louis Green, Darrell Jackson, Tom Nalen and Ryan Torain won’t dress out for tonight’s game. On the Cowboys side of the ball, Kevin Burnett, Quincy Butler, Marcus Dixon, Tyler Everett, Terence Newman and Anthony Spencer will be inactive.
The starting lineup has a few changes as well. For the Broncos, Eddie Royal starts at WR for Jackson, Casey Wiegmann starts at C for Nalen, Winborn starts at LB for Boss Bailey and Domonique Foxworth starts at CB for Champ Bailey.
Mike Jenkins will start at cornerback in Newman’s place for the Cowboys.
6:01 PM MST: The Broncos will be donning their home blue uniforms tonight. A few players have made their way out to the field in their jerseys including the three quarterbacks, Eddie Royal and Tyrone Poole.
6:07 PM MST: By the way, the Jets-Redskins game is on TV in the press box. I see Favre already scored a touchdown. That story really isn’t going to go away all season, is it? He looks a little weird in a Jets jersey behind center, but not as weird as I thought he would.
6:19 PM MST: The teams are on the field, running individual position drills. A little over a half-hour until kickoff.
6:53 PM MST: Alright, we’re getting close to kickoff. The Broncos cheerleaders just walked onto the sideline, and the game ball is being delivered. Minutes to go…
7:00 PM MST: The offense is being introduced — it’s finally time for football again at INVESCO Field at Mile High.
Time for the first quarter blog…check back there in a few minutes!

Keep the updates coming, thanks guys!
I’m excited to see how our lines look against the beefy Cowboys. Hopefully we can minimize the penalties on the offensive side again and show a more consistent pass rush on the defensive.
An hour to kick off!
Let’s GO BRONCOS! I hope Brandon Marshall smokes Pac-Rat tonight!
YEAH !!! can’t wait to break it down.I’m focusing on MARSHALL-vs-PAC-MAN.They have been at each other the past couple of days, with BRANDON getting the best of the matchup.I’m also taking a closer look at CLADY as well as SELVIN and WOODYARD.Haven’t heard anything about LORNE SAM all camp,on paper he’s talented but just haven’t heard any buzz. It’s about 30 minutes until we workout on the cowboys!!! My game kit is ready!! Cold BREWS!!! u know da rest!!! BRONCOS RULE !!!!
Are they wearing the blue pants as well? And don’t get me started about Favre, this game was SUPPOSED to be shown on NFLNETWORK but Favre and his FIRST START in his 16TH SEASON was more important. WHAT A CROCK!
hrdnokd–
No blue pants. They’re wearing their white pants. And yes, the networks sure are on a Favre-obsessed run these days.
Thanks for the info, I’ll be sitting here like a crack head waiting for my next hit…….
Is there anyway to watch this on the net?
I really hope the D-line does something tonight. I maintain that if Engleberger makes this team we have no chance. Crowder must show something, We should start Ekuban #91 and Crowder at the ends.
Go Broncos.
Now while I agree that Engle shouldn’t be an every down starter don’t KNOCK the guy. JESUS MAN, he played with a severely dislocated shoulder and you rip him? What the FRICK? Dumerville is the starter, like it or not he PLAYS FOOTBALL. There’s a lot of DE’s looking for a spot, but don’t go off on a guy that’s been in the NFL for almost a decade and plays his guts out every down.
the team looked great tonight both the d and o. A couple of concerns that I have are the pass ruSh and selvin young. It looks like andre hall really wants that starting job. Royal looks like he is the real deal not just another darius watts.
