Please Mr. Bowlen hire me as an interim coach/GM for one day. I will take a $1.00 salary. First on my list, Sheff, BMarsh fired. Screw em, you want to talk about immature youth? We have absolutely some of the most cry baby little boys on this team that have got to go. Like a saying I use a lot in my life. When you have one eye looking in the past (Shanahan) and one in the future (new contract) what does that do to you? Leaves you crossed eyed. Let's take this a step further. What was the Cutler era? A stretch of not making the playoffs, crumbling at ALL the times we needed consistent effective play. Shanahan era? After the two Superbowl wins we were a mediocre team at best that by shear contrast of a weak conference other than the obvious stand outs, we managed to compete at a Playoff level. What does our veteran coach do in 2006 at a 7-4 record and just lost a close game to the best team in the league (Indy) he benches Plummer in favor of rookie Jay Cutler. Why? Because he threw a 60 yard pass in stride in training camp. I don't let two great seasons blind me as to what our team was through almost an entire decade. Now we are looking at a new era. The McD era. What do we have after one year? An 8-8 season missing the playoffs. Signs of great things to come, not a almost a decade of close but no cigar.(cheesy cliche, however fits just fine here.) Accountability? McD can't be on the field making tackles, not allowing HUGE gaps in our pass defense, etc... His accountability ends at finding a tutor to handle the press, bringing in a play caller the likes of Gary Kubiak and sticking to his guns, which I have no doubt he will. It may seem I have a problem with Shanahan but of course not. Love the man for what kind of coach he was when he was effective. And the achievements he made for our team. But I also understand the truth of the matter is that even Lombardi would be a wash out in the league today.

Here's my theory:

Right after the first loss to the Raves, McD chewed on some guys in a meeting. Whoever those guys were probably didn't like being chewed on and couldn't be men about it. So they got upset and started complaining to others. Then there were some on the team that weren't being accountable and probably said "Hey I played as well as I could .....no 1st year head coach is going to call me out". Right then I would say about 1/3 of the team quit on the head coach. Now we move on to Week12 vs. NY Giants. Denver's o-line is getting their tails kicked at the start of the game and due to penalties the o-line is moving the team backwards. So Coach McDaniels walks over and starts ripping the o-line with a few expletives while NFL Network sideline mic is open and cameras are rolling. This probably ticked off some more guys on the team and they quit on the coach. Then you have a WR and TE who think the reason the team has success is all because of their efforts and they get ticked because they're not getting the ball enough. They complain to others and then wait for the right opportunity to quit on the coach. After about week 14 what do you have? A bunch of selfish overpaid underachievers for a football team who have forgotten that team play gave them a 6-0 start.

So they got their feelings hurt........big deal. I've said it a thousand times only a few guys on this team have heart. I say clean house and start over. Get rid of the malcontents. Most of all, PLEASE MR BOWLEN CALL A MEETING WITH THE TEAM AND AIR THE DIRTY LAUNDRY PRIVATELY. AFTER THE MEETING ANNOUNCE TO THE TEAM THAT JOBS ARE BEING EVALUATED STARTING TODAY. THEN LET EVERYONE KNOW THAT JOSH MCDANIELS IS THE HEAD COACH AND IS UNDER CONTRACT. There the certain things McDaniels can do better. I'm hoping he's learned some lessons from this years. As for those that quit on their teammates, fans aren't stupid they can tell a fake from a mile away. Please leave the team and go be a cancer somewhere else. You know who you are.

Alright this is my analogy (you guys are probably sick of these but I have fun with 'em):

So we had an experienced driver (Shanny) but he was getting a little old and his eye sight was starting to go and started to side swipe some people, scratching the paint and taking off mirrors. We took away his liscense (fire him) along with some of his back seat drivers (staff).
So we bring in a kid (McD) whos daddy (Bilicheat) has been letting him back the car out of the garage and drive on some back roads, but still doesn't have his liscense. We have a descent car, nothing too flashy but it looks good, and has some dings here and there. We remove all of the old paint (releasings) and put on a new coat (FA signings). We got some new tires (draft) that will hopefully carry us for a lot of miles. We got rid of the old interior (Cutler) and put in different (Orton). We kept the sound system because it was awesome (Bailey, Williams, Dumervil, Marshall, Royal, Hillis). But we did put in a new cd player (Nolan) because 8-tracks are done (Slowik). We were leaking some oil (motivation) so we fixed that with a plug (Dawkins, Hill, Goody). Our front bumper (o-line) is in good shape, our back bumper (d-line) is sagging a bit so we buff it up to make it shinny and use some wire to hold it on for a while.
Now we have a descent car still not too flashy but it looks and runs pretty good still.
McD get is and takes it for a test run and right away there seems to be some troubles, so he keeps takin' it into the shop for service (offseason, preaseason, practices)
We get most of that fixed and McD gets in again and it purrs like a kitten. He takes her right out onto the highway and wow it flies and runs good (6-0). Then we need some gas so we stop into a rink-a-dink gas station and get some fuel (bye week). Then we get fueled up and take off on the highway again. We must of got some bad gas because it doesn't run well anymore (losing streak). Instead of taking here on some back roads to fix her (playcalling, personel, and coaching) he keeps her on the highway. Well the speed limit is 65 mph and we're going 40 mph and other cars (teams) that we sped past earlier are passing us now (SD, OAK, and KC) and giving us the finger and laughing (beating us at home). We keep her on the highway and we're slowly coming to a creep. Engine is steaming (team moral), we have a flat tire and are driving on the rim (Moreno in short yardage) when we have a full sized spare in the trunk (Hillis), but we don't have a jack (the guts to make the change), back bumper (d-line) is falling off, and the front bumper (o-line) has some dings (injuries). We pull over and have one more push (KC) to make our trip (playoffs). But McD overinflates the tires (benching Marshall and Scheffler). Now were stranded on the side of the road with the hood up, a blown tire, scratched paint, bumpers banged up, and some torn interior, and we have a kid that doesn't even know how to check the transmission fluid. Everyone's laughing (critics and other teams). But low and behold there is a mechanic station close by (offseason). Let's get her pushed into there and see what we can do with her to get her back into good shape. Hopefully get ready for next season, and hopefully McD can learn a thing or two about how to drive (playcalling, philosophy, game plans, and coaching, oh and when to admit your wrong). We got a lot of junk in the car that needs to be cleaned out because its starting to stink.

I have to hand it to you vabroncoguy, you really had this team pegged from the beginning. You have always said how lucky this team was and that it wasn't very good, especially Orton and McD. Even after the 6-0 start you were complaining and after Orton had his best game as a Bronco and only one or two interceptions at the time. You were one of the fans who really saw this coming and aren't afraid to let everyone else know this, and you took a lot of sh** for it from a lot of people here, myself included. For that I have to respect you. I am one of the fans who always feels like we as true fans need to support our team through thick and thin and they will always have my unwavering support, but I don't think I can stand for much more of this. I am willing to give this coach another year, but if he can't improve things by then, I will be calling for his head, along with most everyone else I sure. I mean what the hell happened after the bye week? (It kind of makes you wonder if some of the players weren't taking something in the beginning of the season.) I think it has to be on the coaches, more than questioning the talent on this team. Game planning and making sure the team is mentally prepared is ultimately the head coaches responsibility. And plain and simple, like we have all said before, it all starts up front and if we don't fix the problems on the line on both sides of the ball, we are simply going nowhere. That's all for now.

Time to look at next year. Here is the home and away opponites for 2010. I would say the schedule looks easier but you never know from year to year. I thought that Oak and KC at home would be easy games this year and look what happened.

Home: Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Houston, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Seattle, New York Jets
Away: Kansas City, Oakland, San Diego, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Arizona, San Francisco, Baltimore
