Sorry, not trying to be rude.
I think the drum about the run game gets hammered so often that people think you need to run the ball or this and that. It isn't so much about running more it's about being effective when you do run. In a Manning offense you usually have a decent yards per carry cause he calls the run when the defense gives you a pass defense look. This is why Manning can run a fairly simple offense and be effective. He constantly makes the defense wrong.

Plus, when you have Manning, why would you take the ball out of his hands. Also, yards per pass > then yards per run.

More effective or efficient run game maybe but not a larger dose.
Remember that Manning's offense runs the ball based on box counts, down and distance and defensive alignment or personnel package. Run plays are called based on what a defense dictates.

On the other hand, a guy like Studes may change the run playbook. He will still have to use the prominent 11 or 12 personnel that Manning uses but the Xs and Os can be changed.

In essence, number or runs called is based on the defense but the running scheme can be changed by a guy like Studes.

RH - I doubt the Texans are dumb enough to let Kubiak go, so it's a moot point.

I think I would prefer to hire someone from within. The more I think about it, the more I like the Studesville idea. A Peyton Manning passing game, with an even heavier dose of the run game?? Sign me up!

TRB - I would feel bad for Studesville, if he got passed over, in favor of the younger, less experienced Gase.. The good news is we seem to have options, and who in their right kind wouldn't want to be OC for this team? We also don't know yet if McCoy will be hired, or of he will accept the offer.

Our division is in shambles at the moment, but we can't get too comfortable, as things change quickly in the NFL. The Chargers are the closest IMO, and I hope they don't get a top tier coach to turn it around. The Cheifs have talent, just need a QB, and luckily for us this draft class is very light on QB's. The Raiders are still the Raiders... Lol

Sorry OT, I like Kubiak but you can't have him and Manning. They run offenses that are polar opposites.
