INJURY UPDATES: Hillis is out with a right hamstring injury and Mario Haggan has a right knee sprain and is questionable.
15:00: Broncos will have it first-and-10 at their 23 yard-line to start the fourth quarter.
Jay Cutler hits Tatum Bell for nine yards on first down and then has his pass intended for Daniel Graham deflected. Third-and-one, Cutler gives to Eddie Royal on the end around. Royal follows his blockers and gets eight yards and the first down.
13:20: On second down, Cutler hits a crossing Brandon Marshall who gets enough for the first down. Broncos now at midfield.
12:47: Cutler is not happy, not sure if the play didn’t come in or if there was a technical issue, but the Broncos use their final timeout.
Back from the timeout, Cutler pitches to Bell… Bell has room, he motors down the sideline for a big gain. 28 yards for Tatum Bell and the Broncos are at the 22 of Kansas City.
11:40: Broncos face third-and-three at the 15 and Kansas City will use their second timeout.
11:00: Here we go, third down… Cutler is in the gun with Bell to his right. He hits Marshall for the first down. Marshall was wide open and with that catch he goes over 1,000 receiving yards on the year. First-and-goal at the six.
10:10: Cutler hits Marshall again, he follows his blocker, absorbs a hit or three and gets into the endzone. Matt Prater’s PAT is good and the Broncos are now on top.
Broncos 24 – Chiefs 17; 10:10 remaining.
10:10: Kevin Robinson is back to receive Prater’s kick. He takes it 5-yards deep and moves the ball to the 24 before he is stopped by Wesley Woodyard.
10:05: The crowd is picking up the noise and the defense is encouraging it. Tyler Thigpen throws just wide of Dwayne Bowe on first down… on second down, he finds his favorite target, Tony Gonzalez. First down Chiefs to the their 36.
9:25: Thigpen and Gonzalez hook up for nine on first down and then Jamaal Charles picks up the first down and more. Chiefs on the Broncos end of the field.
8:05: On first down, the today’s game program cover boy Elvis Dumervil wraps up Thigpen for the sack. Loss of 10, second-and-20. But the Chiefs make it up and get 19 yards, Thigpen to Bowe. Third-and-one, Johnson bounces outside and gets the first down and bunch more. Gain of 11 yards.
6:25: Thigpen is pressured, but rolls and finds the open field. He gets 12-yards on that run and the Chiefs have first-and-goal.
5:33: I would not be shocked to see Thigpen throw to Gonzalez on every play. He does on first down and it is over his head. On second down, Thigpen keeps it for a gain of five. Third-and-goal from the five. I am guessing he looks towards his tight end… ah I was wrong. He threw over Bowe’s head, but there is a flag. Illegal formation on KC, fourth down.
4:44: Fourth-and-goal…I am going to say Gonzalez… but Thigpen keeps it, moves past one, but is taken down by Bly. Broncos ball at the one-yard line.
4:35: Just to try and move it out, Cutler sneaks but doesn’t get much. In fact, he gets nothing. Second-and-10 at the one. The give is to Bell who tries to move it out of the endzone. No luck on that one either. Timeout KC, their final timeout.
3:46: On third down, Cutler throws looks towards Marshall and finds him for the big first down. Marshall used his “late hands” technique and snared the reception.
2:00: Two very short gains and it is third-and-nine at the 21… Cutler fires one to Scheffler and that will be another first down and the two-minute warning.
Victory formation…
1:46: A couple more snaps and that will do it. The Broncos remain three games up in the AFC West and knock off the Kansas City Chiefs 24-17.

The orange jerseys rock! I’m so proud of this team. Hopefully Hillis comes back to crush some Panthers linebackers. Carolina is so overrated. I think Jake Delhomme sucks! Eddie Royal for president. Like Obama, he’ll deliver a playoff to college football! Chargers fans, it sucks to be you. HA! HA!
KYLE!
How many times have fans asked you about Hillis? Hear the panic in our voice? This kid is special and everyone knows it!!
I was watching the game Sunday and this older Raider fan approached me and said “Where do you guys find em?” Although, I wish all of Oakland to go up in long lasting flames, I couldn’t help but be proud for Hillis and what he has done!
I certainly wish a fast and complete recovery for him prior to post season. If there were any 1 position we need more than the QB, it’s Hillis!!
Anyone notice how the running game stalled after he left? Tatum did a wonderful job but the difference in pure running out of the backfield is mind blowing. It illustrates how hard north and south running Hillis does….amazing simply amazing. He no doubt would’ve had another 100 yd + game.
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
I’m giving Hillis 4 weeks max, I feel he can make it back by the first round of playoffs, barring that we make it there first. Hillis seems like a strong guy and I bet he will treat and rehab that hamstring to the best he possibly can because you can tell hes that type of person. I mean the dude ties himself to trucks and lugs them up a hill for a workout.
2 quick notes. I cant believe how good this team is with Rhino Hillis in the backfield. Seriously, when its 3rd and short we know this kid will pick it up. I for one was excited when Tatum came back but Hillis is the running back that fits this team. Also notice how Webster had only 1 assist and no tackles at the mike position. He is a 2nd string player at best.
