12:32 MDT: All right, time for football at INVESCO Field at Mile High. I’m in the press box, watching the early games and getting ready for what should be a pretty exciting contest. Brett Kern is already in his home blue uniform (with white pants) warming up. There are orange towels set up in every seat, so I’m definitely ready to see that sea of orange waving before kickoff. The excitement for 2008 is palpable — I’ve already seen a couple Eddie Royal jerseys in the crowd.
12:35 MDT: I’m going down to the field to grab some pictures of warmups in a couple minutes. Check back with everyone in a little.
1:10 MDT: A hearty round of boos for the Chargers as a few kick returners came out to practice fielding punts in their own endzone.
1:13 MDT: The Broncos announced their inactives for today’s game — Hamza Abdullah, Nic Clemons, Louis Green, Darrell Jackson, Jarvis Moss, Tom Nalen, Erik Pears and Ryan Torain will not dress out.
I’m uploading the pictures from on the field right now.
1:31 MDT: Both teams are on the field warming up. Here are some pictures from the game preparations.

1:46 MDT: The Chargers just left the field and the Broncos are huddled up for their breakdown. Marquand Manuel led the team to the tunnel, sprinting ahead of the rest of the pack. Kickoff is creeping closer and closer, and INVESCO is filling up already.
2:00 MDT: Members of the U.S. Armed Forces are lining up on the field to a standing ovation from the Broncos faithful. Today’s game is dedicated to the U.S. Military Forces that have served or are still serving in missions around the world. Representatives from the four branches of the Military (Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines) are being honored right now and the National Anthem is now being performed by the Air Force Academy Band – Blue Steel.
2:03 MDT: U.S. Marines stationed in Iraq just checked in live, shown on Thunder Vision, and said the Pledge of Allegiance. Now it’s time for the National Anthem. Kickoff is less than 15 minutes away.
2:07 MDT: The offense was introduced for the Broncos — Brandon Marshall was introduced first, followed by Ryan Clady, Ben Hamilton, Casey Wiegmann, Chris Kuper, Ryan Harris, Daniel Graham, Eddie Royal, Selvin Young and Jay Cutler.
Rod Smith was introduced last — with a large ovation — as an honorary captain for today’s game.
2:14 MDT: San Diego calls heads, it is tails. Denver wins the toss and elects to receive. It’s time for the home opener, ladies and gentlemen. See you in the first quarter blog.
