Third-and-9 from the San Diego 35: After San Diego started their first possession with a first down on the second play from scrimmage, the Broncos ended the drive before it could gain momentum when linebacker Wesley Woodyard hit Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers as he released a third-down pass, forcing it to fall harmlessly incomplete.
Third-and-1 from the Denver 46: San Diego had good field position after a missed Matt Prater 55-yard field goal attempt. That didn’t matter for the Broncos defense as it forced a three-and-out capped by Woodyard’s 1-yard tackle for a loss on third-and-one.
Third-and-5 from the San Diego 36: With the Denver offense still looking for its first points, quarterback Peyton Manning found an open Matthew Willis and the receiver turned upfield for a 10-yard gain that extended the drive. Two plays later Manning hit wide receiver Demaryius Thomas for a 13-yard touchdown to tie the score 7-7.
First-and-10 from the San Diego 20: On the first play of the ensuing Chargers drive, Woodyard stepped in front of a Rivers pass for his third interception of the season. The linebacker returned the pick 25 yards to the San Diego 8-yard line to set up a Matt Prater field goal.
Third-and-12 from the San Diego 49: After San Diego started the second half with an onside kick recovery, the Denver defense stood its ground and forced a three-and-out. On third down, Von Miller broke into the backfield and dropped Rivers for a 6-yard loss and forced a fumble that the Chargers recovered.
Third-and-4 from the San Diego 46: Miller struck again on third down, sacking Rivers and forcing a fumble for a second time in the third quarter. Woodyard recovered and returned it to the San Diego 25. Three plays later, the Broncos found the end zone on Manning’s 20-yard pass to wide receiver Eric Decker to put the team ahead 24-9.
Kickoff from the San Diego 35: The second Chargers onside kick attempt of the half wasn’t a surprise and wasn’t successful as tight end Virgil Green fell on the loose ball to give Denver a chance to run out the clock. Denver was held to a three-and-out, turning the ball back to San Diego with 30 seconds to play.
2nd-and-6 from the San Diego 17: Just like the Chargers’ last snap of the team’s previous matchup in Week 6, Elvis Dumervil ended the game by strip-sacking Rivers. The sack came with 17 seconds left on the clock and despite Rivers’ recovery of the fumble, time ran out to give Denver the win.

I’ll take Manning and Miller over the above scenario. I understand Luck is a long term solution, but a SB proves everything correct.
Well, I wasn’t on here for the McD’s days (thankfully), so I can’t comment on that. I call it like it is, much like I did when we ignored the RB depth, or the poor play calling, or my disdain for Xanders, or my indifference towards McCoy.
But I can also give praise, and thankfully there has been MUCH more of the latter lately. I’ll be the first one to speak up, but I’m not going to nitpick every single move, and second guess them, that’s not how I live my life. To each their own I guess…
I wouldnt take that scenario either. I am perfectly happy with how things have turned out.
This is a great year to have a weak QB class, with the Chiefs picking early and needing a QB! LOL!
You know, it isn’t as gratifying for me to beat up on divisional opponents when they suck as bad as they do this year. I enjoy when they have hope and think they’re better than us…only to get crushed….you know what, wait…nevermind…kick the crap out of them and I’m happy anyway. I don’t know what I was talking about.
AB, that’s interesting about Rivera.. Wonder if he’s just saying that since he’s already stuck with Newton. If he took Newton over Luck, that would be crazy. All I know is, we really “lucked” out to land on Miller!
Despite all my positivity, I am very concerned with our turnovers and mental mistakes. It won’t be an issue for the rest of the season, given our schedule, but I’m afraid it could give us an early exit from the tournament, if not corrected..
OT it wouldnt surprise me if he was just saying to show his support for Cam.
And I agree. We need to work on turning the ball over and the other mental mistakes.
On the remaining schedule only two teams have me even a little worried. Ravens behind Ray Rice will be a tough game I think but with how bad their D has been all year our offense should do well. The Buccs. They have really put it all together and have a rather tough team on both sides of the ball. If we can keep from turning the ball over make little to no mental mistakes and have our D playing like it has been we should be able to pull out a win in both.
OT, you’re correct on this.
I haven’t seen them improving in the areas of holding on to the ball, sustaining drives on third downs, dropped passes, and running the football. We WILL have to run the ball to win in the Playoffs. I said this on a different post, our best chance to go to the SB may not be this year. We are not complete enough at this point….and Manning will be better the next two years. Imagine Manning when teams REALLY DO have to defend the run. They know it’s a ploy and not a threat right now. Elway DID NOT WIN until he had a real running game. We don’t have that now….not even close. It’s mediocre. That’s good enough….for a Division title in the worst division, not to beat the Ravens, Steelers, Texans or Patriots in the Playoffs. At the current pace, it’s realistic to win the division, win a home Wild Card game…and have a Falcons, Texans, Patriots style game to lose in the playoffs. Play good enough to have respect, but come up short.
Those things must improve…and they might.
I agree AB. Both the Bucs and Ravens will pose a challenge, as I see Rice and Martin on the screen pass as an issue in both games. I know this sounds weird, and I NEVER want us to lose, but I think it would serve this team well to drop one or two games before the season is over. For some reason I have the feeling that if we win out, we will go into the playoffs overly confident, and get punched in the mouth. I think this young team needs one last dose of adversity..
Finding a good DL guy is much much harder than finding a good RB. So I could care less what Martin is doing. Wolfe is eating up real estate and allowing The linebackers and DEs to make the plays.
Lost in all the Von Miller praise (which he deserves, possibly the DPOY), is Woodyard. WW is killing it out there. I’ll admit that D.J. had a decent game but when D.J. was at WLB he was never as good as WW is right now. I liked seeing WW with the green communication dot on his helmet and how he was running the play calling.
Carter and Harris played very well, Carter just had a major height differential to deal with.
The O had problems without McGahee but not because a lack of rushing yards, it was from the pass protection side.
OT, I agree with you about some of the mental issues needing to be cleared up… I’m excited about this team, but not overly confident considering yesterday two of the three teams that I feel are better than this one in the AFC put up 59 and 43 respectively… Our Defense will give us a chance to win any game (which is the best feeling a fan can have I think)
Von makes me sleep easy… and I am so happy that my concerns before the season about PM’s longevity are now seamingly misplaced… I was unaware of the extent of the Stem Cell therapy that he underwent in Europe, and if I had known that his nerve cells were regenerated to a pre-surgery state and he wasn’t waiting for the old damaged ones to heal I’m Sure I would have been singing a little different tune!!! (How about instead of the Legalizing of Marijuana we as a population get a voice in things like the use of Stem Cells or our National Debt Ceiling?)
I owe the Front Office a Giant Turtle Apology for letting my emotions out and voicing my frustrations in a sometimes less than professional manner (hey, what can I say… I can be a Fanatical Fan, same as any other).
Elway is taking great care of this Organization and I am as proud now as ever to say that Elway will always be my favorite Football player and the GREATEST QB ever, but also now he is also becoming my favorite Business Executive…
My Humble Apologies, and a Big BRONCO Thank you!!!
B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS!!!!
I never feel good about playing the Cheifs at Arrowhead! Some of the biggest Eggs in Bronco History have been layed there!!!
RH! You said something that I can completely agree with! Our DL’s, Wolfe included are doing a wonderful job of occupying blockers the last few weeks (albeit agains sub par competition)…
I would also like to give a Special Thanks to DJ Williams!!! He came back to this team in Football Shape, and just watching this one game should have put any questions about his talent level or commitment level to this team to bed
I have been hating on D.J. for a while now and he had a decent game but my mind won’t be changed until he can supplant Brooking in the middle. I do think he has the athleticism to do it and I think this whole ordeal humbled him some. He hasn’t but the concerns about his commitment to bed just yet but he has made some good progress. I would absolutely love for him to prove me wrong.
RH… I love that in only about 10 snaps DJ has as many TFL as Brooking’s has on the season! DJ is a far superior athlete and LB and it will just be a matter of Reps before he’s blowing it up on the Regular!!!
PUM PUM PUM SCORE PREDICTION RESULTS FOR WK 11
No big Surprises out of D-Town this weekend as our Broncos put forth a very workman like effort and obliterated the Chargers in every meaningful aspect of the game (even if not fully reflected by the final Score)
Final Score 30-23 (53) Broncos!
Also as No Big Surprise was the winner of this week’s Contest… THE DANE comes in with a PERFECT prediction of 30-23 for zero points off no matter how you score it!!! Well done, the torch has clearly been passed and you are the resident expert my friend! You receive a dozen Cyber Cookies, a Giant ATTA-BOY and a Mile High Salute! Way to go Dane, and you also receive 10 contest points!!!
Second place this week for Seven Points was BroncsBomber66… His score of prediction of 28-24 (52) was one point off the Total! Well played BB66
We have a 4 way tie for third place this week for third place… DB, Scalp and SNDVL all had totals of 51, while Still1972 had 55… All good predictions, all worth Five contest points!!! All four of you have made a major push up the leader board in the last few weeks! Congratulations!!!
Fourth Place this week goes to Fan Favorite OSS!!! Who is slowly crawling his way back into the competition! His Prediction of 34-23 (57) was four points off the mark and good enough for 3 contest points! There still time OSS, but if DANE keeps picking perfect the race is now for second place!
Fifth Place this week and moving 1 point up the board were both Von_Dumervil and Wolfedom! They were five points off the total… Props guys!
For the Second Straight Week nobody picked against the Broncos! (wisely) so there is only an Honorary WALL OF SHAME this week and it goes out to ANYBODY that doubted DJ Williams and his commitment to his football team! FOR SHAME DUDES… DJ is a Super Baller and I’m so happy to have him back on the team!!!
As Always, Thank you for your participation!
B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS!!!
This was DJs first game back from 9 game suspension. So of course his first week or two he isnt going to take that starting spot from a guy who has been solid the majority of the year.
DJ adds depth, as well. He probably will earn his starting role back. Depth is far overlooked quite often and Brooking is a solid LB…this only means more good things for the Broncos.
Like Schmidt said. DJ adds depth. Even if he doesnt take a starting role he can be really good depth subbing in and out.
I never expected him to take the starting spot right out the gate. I’ll wait it out till week 17 or so. I agree that he is a better athlete but the pro game is just as much mental and he hasn’t shown that side consistently. Time will tell.
I got the Over/Under at DJ Starting at MLB at 3 (counting the one played so two more)… I’ll bet you have a dozen Cyber Cookies against half a dozen Binary Bagels!
Any Takers?
I believe DJ is the most talented and Brooking is an excellent reserve
Half a dozen Cyber Cookies*
AB! I have to admit, I’m rooting for your kids to be born on my birthday!!! Sounds like a real good possibility, and coincidentally it’s Gray’s Birthday as well…
Agreed about Martin. He reminds me a lot of Adrian Peterson. I think just about everyone wanted him. He would’ve been a bigger upgrade and more noticeable than Wolfe but I do believe Wolfe will turn into a great defensive player..imo. At the time, DT was a bigger need than RB so that is why we went with Wolfe. Man, Martin with Peyton would be pretty deadly though!! Would be a great replacement for McGahee when he retires!
BT Thats what I was thinking. First two weeks back hed sub in then start by his third game.
Anyways Phillip Rivers last night didnt just admit defeat for that game but for the whole season. After the game he was asked about the 4 game deficit. He responed “They wont lose 4 out of 6 I will guarantee you that”
Haha BT. Whens that? They are due the 29th of this month I believe. Wont be any later then the 3rd or 4th of next month.
I doing all my prepping for when the arrive. Been so hectic getting their room ready and getting ahead in work that i am very sleep deprived. Lol
Turtle you didnt get my prediction?

Tutles haha sorry Turtle
No way, in his format you have until midnight before gameday, he just didn’t see it, trust me it’s a more difficult job than it seems.
He’ll fix it I’m sure, he basically has to, you just provided the truth with your link.
And you did post it Sat. am, not Friday but same thing.
It’s funny though because he was just answering your comment back then, must of been during one of those trying the legitimate stuff in Colorado moment, LOL.
I know I was laughing at that too, I was telling him about the bronco Tattoo LMAO no biggy, Im sure he will fix it, But 10 pts is 10 points
Miller… Got you… Made the Correction, and You also get 10 points for Prediction… Congratulations and Thank you for bringing that to my attention… Not sure how that didn’t save to the spreadsheet! My apologies, and where (meaning what shop) did you get your Tat?
