We’re here at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz., where it’s a scorching 111 degrees outside according to a graphic on the local news that is playing on a TV here in the press box. Thankfully, the roof is closed, making playing (and writing) conditions much more pleasant.
A couple dozen Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals players are scattered around the field warming up for the last preseason game of 2011, which is just under two hours away.
Quarterbacks Kyle Orton, Tim Tebow, Brady Quinn and Adam Weber are throwing passes on the field to receivers running routes.
Linebacker Von Miller is taking a quick break from stretching to chat with Tight Ends Coach Clancy Barone.
5:28 p.m. MST: The quarterbacks and wide receivers are still the two main position groups of the field for both teams. Several players and coaches are also taking a quick moment to catch up with friends and acquaintances on the Cardinals.
5:36 p.m. MST: Looks like Broncos will be wearing their away whites as kicker Steven Hauschka comes out dressed in full uniform. The QBs and WRs have gone in now to suit up for the game.
5:47 p.m. MST: Kicker Matt Prater, punter Britton Colquitt and long snapper Lonie Paxton have joined Hauschka on the field, as have the Arizona specialists. The Cardinals will be in their home red tops with white pants.
5:54 p.m. MST: We got the list of players who aren’t expected to play. For the Broncos it’s linebacker D.J. Williams, defensive tackles Brodrick Bunkley, Marcus Thomas, and Ty Warren as well as wide receiver Demaryius Thomas. All of those guys have sat our practice this week due to injury. For Arizona, it’s quarterback John Skelton, strong safety Adrian Wilson, cornerback Mike Adams and wide receiver DeMarco Sampson.
6:05p.m. MST: Tight ends and wide receivers have come out of the locker room. All five tight ends are in uniform as are all receivers. Eric Decker, Eddie Royal, David Anderson and cornerback Perrish Cox are fielding punts. All other defensive backs just came on the field as did running backs Lance Ball, Brandon Minor and Jeremiah Johnson.
6:10p.m. MST: It appears as if everyone will be dressed for the game as all four quarterbacks just came out in full gear. Orton and Quinn are playing catch with each other as are Weber and Tebow. Broncos TV’s Chris Hall is on the field next to the quarterbacks getting some sweet shots.
6:27 p.m. MST: Both teams went through their line stretching routines and are now in dynamic warmup mode with some Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight” blasting on the stadium speakers, followed up by a little change in genre, “Lose My Mind” by Young Jeezy.
6:31 p.m. MST: Here are some pregame photos taken by the great Eric Lars Bakke.

6:37 p.m. MST: With 28:20 left until kickoff, the Broncos head into the locker room followed four minutes later by the Cardinals.
6:46 p.m. MST: They’ve inflated the giant Cardinal tunnel the players run through as we are under 20 minutes until kickoff. We are getting ready for the start of the game so we’ll see you in the first half blog soon.

Johnny “lam” jones was the first player to get a million dollar contract from the jets who made him the number 2 overall pick in 1980 with a contract worth 2.1 million.. from what i read he was a world class sprinter who could beat all coverages but couldn’t hold on to the ball.. and yes HDTV and 3D
its miller time Baby!!!!!!!!!!!
Let’s Go Broncos!!!!!!
Personally I don’t care about 3D, but NICE, randy
I’ll never use the 3D part my nephews like it though
The game will be on NFLNetwork at 10pm … on time for once. Looking forward to it. TRB
Hoping for good health, an injury tonight could be an automatic cut. NFL’s a tough business and cutting down to 53 is difficult
I still say they need to INCREASE the number of guys on the team to 65. Especially with a 16 game season and all of the injuries that we always see.
VON-DOOM STRIKES IN ARIZONA!!
Anyhow,
GOOOO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!! ITS MILLER TIME…..Time for DOOM & GLOOM!!!, ETC.
With that, I’m going to go and watch the game.
Later, dudes!
I agree with you on increasing the number of players in that, more guys can have a shot to play. If more players were able to stick around then we might see more Davis and Sharpe stories in the NFL. Gotta love the underdogs!
Super pumped! Lets do work!
GO BRONCOS!
Time to play what we passed on in PP and them to see what they passed on in Orton. Should be a fun game. Getting to see the back ups more is fun. Especially TEs since I have high hopes for that position this year.
I dont like Decker and Anderson fielding kicks. Not only are they not fast enough, they don’t have prior college or in Andersons case, NFL experience doing that I don’t believe. Not to mention Decker is even more valuable at WRs nowadays … I would rather seen the speed guys or guys with experience do KR/PR … such as Brandon Bing, Vaughn, Cox and Royal. Cox has great college experience in returning, Bing is ultra fast (4.28) … so Is vaughn not to mention he showed flashes last year. And maybe Royal will only do PR like Desean and Hester and them. Either way … I want our speed guys back there. I get what they are trying to do. They are trying to keep the most versatile guys for the roster … with the injuries likely to happen in a season with a lockout … they can’t afford just SPECIALIST returners eating up roster spot. Not to mention KR’s are rare. TRB
Its Dum,s day and after that its Miller time!!!!!!!! LETS GO BRONCOS.
I don’t care if its Pre season I still like to see the Broncos in full gear.
Miller to be Rookie of the Year? we shall see
it is going to be funny seeing all the Miller jerseys around Denver this year.
Yessir! Last pre-season game.
Lets go Broncos, Lets go!!!
ILMSDB!!!

I wouldn’t look forward to seeing the starters much at all, this is the last preseason game,so that means it’s Rookies and 2s and 3s tonight, time to put up or shut up,if you wanna make the team, cuts will start tomorrow would be my guess!
GO BRONCS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes sir. I think that is a safe assumption.
Yeah I really would be surprised to see any of the starters on the field for any lengthy amount of time if at all. Time to see who shines!
Whats good TRB? How you been man?
man it has been a long time since we had as much potential out of a draft class like this year. I tell you Thomas has so much upside its ridiculous.
if this class works out (the duke) Elway is going to get the credit.
not trying to jump the gun or anything, just a thought!
Yeah TRB I hear ya bro,you gotta be able to contribute on ST to make the cut!
I’m like you tho,I hate to see Decker out there returning kicks, leave it to Cox,Vaughn, and Bing!
crush’em…..man you hit the nail on the head,it’s been a long time since I’ve seen this much potential out of our draft class too!
After the drafts we”ve been thru it’s about time we see a good class!!!
Game time!!!

I believe they will go 8-8.
I am having a real hard time this year when I play back the games, I am only reviewing the Tebow playing time because it is exciting, as good as Orton is I am afraid he is boring, even though he may be better than Tebow. I just don’t have the confidance in Orton than I do in Tebow.
