15:00: Browns start the final quarter with a 3rd and 6… Brady Quinn rolls and finds Brayon Edwards for the first down, but I see laundry. Offensive pass interference on Kellen Winslow. It is now 3rd and 16… Louis Green sniffs out the bubble screen forcing a fourth down.
13:43: Dave Zastudill hangs a punt high into the Cleveland sky and Eddie Royal calls for the fair catch at the 7-yard line… On the first play Cutler hits Royal who takes it to the house for a 93-yard touchdown. Prater hits the extra point and just like that the Broncos are trailing by just three.
To say that play took a little air out of Cleveland Browns Stadium would be an understatement.
How about some stats after that play. The 93-yard touchdown is the second longest touchdown by a rookie in Broncos history and ties for the fourth longest touchdown pass. Cutler has now thrown for 336 yards, his fifth 300-yard passing day this season.
13:11: But a bit of the air comes back in the stadium after Josh Cribbs returns the ball to the 50-yard line… on third down, Quinn hits Winslow — but there is a fumble. Broncos ball.
Dre’ Bly forced it, Karl Paymah recovers. First down Broncos at their 38-yard line.
Quiz time, who can tell me the rookie who holds the team record for the longest reception?
12:41: Two straight incompletions have the Broncos facing a 3rd and 10… but Cutler and Royal keep the drive alive with a 22-yard reception. Royal now has 164-yards receiving, a Broncos single game record for a rookie.
11:40: Following a sack, Cutler throws it up and Nate Jackson makes an amazing grab between Browns defenders for 19 yards.
10:12: Broncos are facing another third down… Cutler in the shotgun hits Daniel Graham who breaks tackles and rumbles in for a 28-yard touchdown. Prater nails the extra point, and just like that the Broncos go up 27-23.
9:50: Browns take possession at the 22-yard line… After faking the end around several times, the Browns finally execute the play and Cribbs takes it 21-yards around left end.
8:30: Winslow redeems his fumble a bit, grabbing a Quinn pass and motoring down the field for a 30-yard gain. Browns at the Broncos 25… On first down, Wesley Woodyard again uses his speed to corral Cribbs for no gain… on the next play, Lewis finds Lewis out of the back field and the big back moves the ball to the Denver 6-yard line.
6:00: Third and goal inside the one and Lewis powers in for the Browns touchdown. Head Coach Mike Shanahan doesn’t agree, and has challenged the call.
So I think the action is a little too intense for my quiz, so I will just give the answer. The longest reception by a rookie was by Jerry Tarr in 1962.
The call on the field is upheld, touchdown. Browns retake the lead 30-27 with just under five minutes remaining.
4:57: On first down, Hillis carries a Browns tackler for a first down… Following a Browns holding penalty, Cutler’s pass is tipped and is almost picked off… Cutler finds a streaking Nate Jackson across the middle, but he is rocked by Willie McGinest as tries to make the catch. Jackson is down and being attended to by the Broncos training staff.
Jackson is able to walk off the field.
4:29: Third down and Cutler finds Brandon Stokley, but he looks a smidge short… Broncos hurry up, but Cutler doesn’t like what he sees and calls a timeout.
3:58: Fourth and one, Hillis is stopped but keeps his legs moving and bounces for the first down.
3:28: After a 8-yard completion to Graham, the Broncos are facing another third down. Cutler runs a sneak for the first down.
2:00: Just before the two-minute warning, Cutler finds Graham over the middle for 14 yards. Broncos have the ball 1st and 10 at the Browns 29-yard line.
Cutler takes the snap and keeps it, scrambling up the middle for an 18-yard run.
1:20: Two plays later, Cutler hits Marshall in the endzone for the go-ahead touchdown. Prater’s kick is good and the Broncos have forged back ahead 34-30.
1:14: Prater readies for the kickoff with Cribbs back deep. He squibs it, but Cribbs is able to pick it up. Good pursuit by the special teams brings him down at the 33-yard line.
1:03: Quinn starts the drive with a completion of 9-yards to Winslow… Two incomplete pass bring up a fourth down… Incomplete, the defense holds and the Broncos offense is back on the field. Victory formation.
0:20: And that will do it, the Broncos missing their two running backs, come from behind to defeat the Browns 34-30.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Much needed win. I was sad to see Torain go down but Hillis (again) stepped up to the plate. I think he has a Superman logo under his pads! Woodyard brought the needed intensity and it was nice to see him go back to the basics and KICK ASS!!! This team will be amazing for years to come if they keep it up. Now take the time off and get better, they deserve it.
Does anyone have any thoughts as to who will be the running back? Someone from the practice squad or free agency? Just throwing that out there.

i love woodyard, that guy plays with intensity, can tackle, and is smart. he needs to start regardless of who comes back from injury. bly made some big plays and pretty much shut down edwards, which was nice. manuel sucks, he cant tackle and cant cover, as well as over pursues, so im wondering what is keeping barret from starting? i think if he can step up and mccree comes back it would be a great set of safeties!
07elway, Rivers is a big baby and so are their fans. I live in SD and they are a joke. They are a bunch of arrogant, fair weather fans.
I hope B Marsh never tries that BS again. We don’t need another TO or Ocho Sucko in this league.
Marshall was gonna do somethin for Obama. He talked about it after the game. Was somethin about the nation uniting or somethin like that. Stoke just told him game was too close and not to get flagged so he stopped. Anyways our D is absoulutely horrible. A few rays of light in there but why does it seem like no one knows how to fill their spot? I understand trying to play agressive but getting burned because of it doesn’t help. I’m hoping that they kept Torain out as a precaution and his knee sprain ain’t too bad. We’re running thin, but we showed today that we can pull it out as a team. Let’s go Broncos…..
Oh and by the way. The way Scheff played even though you could see his pain was outstanding! Royal,Hillis, Cutler, Damn. great game……
I want an orange #19 Broncos jersey for Christmas now. You’re the man, Eddie Royal while Forte and Matt Ryan are great, you should be the rookie of the year. I don’t want to be rude but it appears that Papa at least was slanted toward the Browns, although Collinsworth was fair. My friends, do you realize how big this is? We won a game with no tailbacks (great job, Hillis but you are a fullback) which means the Browns defense knew Cutler would pass every time and our innumerable banged up defensive players. Therefore, this season is still salvageable and we can be a good playoff team. The Chargers probably had to be thinking oh crap we’re done now.
It doesn’t really matter what B Marsh was trying to do. That type of behavior should be saved for the media after the game, not during the game. Talk about a huge win on the road. Go Broncos!!!!
Yup,It was a glove that was all white but then painted half black that he was gonna wear in representation of Obama and the unity in the country. Great Gesture but bad timing because he coulda been penalized and that’s what a teammate is for in Stokely. I feel Brandon, just not the right time or place.
I was very impressed with Ryan Torain, I played him in my fantasy and he got me alot of points in the first 1 and a half. I wanted more points but i am glad they kept him out because he is a promising back. Eddie Royal is a monster and most likely rookie of the Year but lets give credit to Brandon Marshall for always drawing the double coverage to give Royal his openings.
Defense did pretty well with what we had to work with. Cleveland has one of the most high powered offenses. Get Healthy Guys, Great Job, Way to go Cutler. WAY TO GO BRONCOS. Much Love
My man Eddie – Denver is just beginning to see what you did at Virginia Tech !! You’re awesome babe !!
I don’t know what was going on with the blogs link, but it literally kicked me out and then would never load them again. So I am back now though, to point out a few things. You guys remembered Detroit Reggie, and called him out for his knocking of Cutler, Good job there, my question is who was it I was battling with about Torain only rushing for 1 yard on 3 carries? Where is he? The difference was the running game was non existent when Torain got his chances against Miami, kind of hard to make 8 guys miss all at once! Cutler shined in the spot light, and he did make some throws that my internet kind of glitched on while it was in the air, and I was like OHHH CRAP NOT THERE! Then it continued and we got lucky once, and we had some spectacular catches other times.
I have to agree I want a #19 Broncos jersey for Christmas also, too bad I got a trip to Oklahoma instead….. But I won’t trade that, haven’t seen my brothers family in over a year. Back to the point now. Woodyard did great, Winborn was good as well, I have to say that I only saw Niko miss one tackle and stats said he only attempted one, but pre season keeps coming back to me when Champ, and DJ said Niko sets other people up for the play so I am giving credit to him. You can’t deny he stepped in well with or without tackles!
Someone gave props to Marshall for drawing a double team so Royal could win his matchups, I am tossing it right back to Eddie and pointing out that if it weren’t for him winning matchups he is getting, that Marshall would have an even harder time! The glove thing was talked about thanks for saying that so I don’t have to. Loved that Stokes got over there to stop it. Hillis’s jersey would also be really cool to have, that dude is going to be a contributor to every team he plays for for many years.
The last thing I want to point out, is the corner back that Royal beat on the 93 yarder is also a Rookie, actually a very good corner! But my correction is that he was NOT calling out Jay before the play, he watched Jay read the coverage and change Royal’s route and he knew he needed help. He was calling for help. I already had this arguement with my friend who is a Die Hard Browns fan, he still denys that Royal sold the slant well, I think Royal really sold that slant incredibly the corner bit on it so hard he hit bone and could not recover. I take that back, he actually still kind of recovered, he swiped at the ball missing it as Royal caught it, Jay needed a little more on that one.
Another thing I love about Royal, did you see him not really slow down after he knew he had 6? He finishes his routes, runs, cuts, and catches! Doesn’t give up, love it! But not as much as my football babe!
Keep it clean in your celebrations fans! We gotta be ready to support whatever comes before Atlanta!
Well deserved Broncos! Well deserved!
ok,,dis is a surprising change in moods..wud happend to all our bashing fans who were “completely frustrated”?AHA….no worries,,the Broncos never gave up on ya..
again the Broncos open Thursday Night Football with a big win,,like the first MNF…YAY!!!!
jst gatta say it,,safety tacklin wasnt so great..
love the big plays….congrats #06 for the BIG NIGHT…Royal for ROY….
Great game by Cutler and the passing attack ! Just one TO and we win that’s plain and simple . But great concerns regarding injuries : Webster out and it’s the third starting LB out , hopefully he’ll be back soon cause the run D was pretty soft tonight and against the falcons we need to sop the run ( Cleveland amassed its best rushing yardages of the season ) and the running game , c’mon Torain , what this guy is made of ??? Glass ???We need a guy who can stay one the field not on the injury list !!I’m afraid Jay won’t be able to pay Elway style every week whithout a running game so Mike , please find a solution , , try this PJ Pope guy and give Peyton H 10 carries a game , he’s a beast whith the ball in his hand , we need bruiser RB so the opposite D must take care of out running game .And the D , please stop the run against the falcons otherwise Matt Ryan will crush our passing D whith the play action .
Was really good to be back on the winning tracks !!
2champ4pickSIX…broncoboy1993 was the person that bad mouthed Torain.
Adam Schefter is saying that Torain is expected to be put on IR. He looked good. Hopefully Selvin and one of the guys from the practice squad can carry the load.
What a great draft! Hillis, Royal, Clady, Woodyard, Larsen, Torain and Aldridge if they can stay healthy.
We might pick up tatum bell.
Torain on IR? Not good
Selvin needs to get healthy, and maybe pick up Aldridge???
Big Win For The broncos! Ryan torain looked pretty damn good for his first start in the NFL, if he hadnt gone down to injury he wouldve rushed for over 100 yards fersure. The Offense stepped up HUGE. BUt the story is On #6. Jay cutler was unbelievable 447 yards 3 tds with no running backs. He put the team on his back in the second half and pulled out not only a GREAT comeback but a much needed WIN for the broncos. Cant say enough about Jay cutler last night.
On the Defensive side. Rookies and fill ins stepped up huge for the 5 starters that were out, They had huge shoes to fill but they stepped up. Woodyard Played great, winborn played great. And for all those who were bashing on bly acouple days ago, you aint saying nothing now. Came up HUGE and i think had one of the best plays of the night stripping the ball out that was a first down, which gave the ball to cutler and the offense who went down the short field and scored 7.
Hopefully the injury to Torain isnt that bad, but it dosent look good. He played Great.
GREAT WIN!!!!!!! NOW LETS GO BEAT THOSE FALCONS NEXT SUNDAY!!!!!!!
Alridge is on IR, i wish coach wasn’t so quick to throw him on there in preseason,i think he would be healthy by now.
how saw Herm Edwards try to pull off a Shanny and beat the chargers with a 2-point conversion…. Herm, your QB is thigpen?!?!? Not Cutler!!
Let’s Go Broncos!!! Injurys ain’t gonna take us down this year!!!!
