Steve - the issue for me is not a desire to perpetuate a discussion of religious matters. Rather, I have had to stomach without response many assertions as to sociological and religious facts that are just plainly not true.

I have no desire to persuade anyone here to my perspective on things, nor do I believe it is possible to do so. OTOH I don't think that uninformed blogs should remain unchallenged and seemingly become the truth to those unwittingly susceptible to bad information. Therefore, if we wish the topic to go away, then it needs to remain as Tebow-esk platitudes that we agree to tolerate as long as Tebow remains our QB.

If someone has questions - I am willing to answer. I don't think it appropriate to post my educational qualifications here - as folks can say anything on a blog. Suffice it to say, I am qualified to answer.

Bay I'm not sure if you watched the video I posted but in Tebow's last college game he threw for 482 yards and 3 touchdowns (plus he rushed for another 50 yards and a touchdown). To my eye - which I admit is no where near college scout caliber - he is keeping his feet under him and planting his front foot before most of his throws. I haven't seen that out of him yet in the NFL but I have to think of it's because he's having to make decisions faster and reading NFL defenses is no easy task. As I've been saying there is no reason that reps and hard work can't improve both of these areas for him. here's the video again if you are interested. And skip past the first minute and 30 seconds or so. Carnage if you're out there I'd still like to see what you think of his mechanics in this instance.

There is a new blog up, maybe you'll get your wish there, some haven't spoken their peace about it though and I would imagine it will keep going for a while if they go through the weekend posts.

I agree with you daddybronc in that whatever is going on with Tebow right now, he is a one of a kind player and it would hard for anybody to be sold on this "experiment" because there hasn't been anything like it. Dawk, Champ, Zeke Bratkowski, Urban Meyer, and even Elway himself are saying the same thing: they've never seen someone like him or a phenomena like the one surrounding him. For an executive unknowns have got to be scary. When you're trying to have success, the conventional way is to try copy the things that have been successful for others. Because honestly, for every innovator there are 100 would be innovations that fail. But the ones that succeed... boy do they ever succeed. And folks can say what they want but this leagues never been about doing things one way. Yes there are trends, phases or whatever but they change. I hope Tim continues to be what his supporters think he is and that Elway being the business savvy winner he is buys into the experiment for another year after seeing the body of work for 2011.

I still think Tebow does not have enough weight on his forward foot when he throws the ball from the pocket hence he usually only throws with accuracy when he is on the run which puts your weight forward automatically.

db,
I honestly wish you well on your desire to have that type of conversation with someone. imo, there is just too many people that are taught from too young of an age that politics and religion has no place in public conversation. which ironically leads me to believe that is the main driving factor on why those types of conversation are almost to the point of extinction. it is equivalent to parents talking openly about sex with their kids in the 50s. untill more people start opening their closed minds and engaging in conversation it will remain such taboo and offensive. both sides.

as far as the whole continent argument, I agree completely. just as if I were born in la, I would probably not be a broncos fan. its not guarenteed as their are bronco fans from la and raider fans from denver however.

brian - right and faster. He's way to slow on his reads and knowing who his 'go to' guy is on the pass. His slow reads have the effect of extra QB pressure on him - which affects accuracy and completion percentage. He is rushing to get the ball out of his hand and ends up throwing too hard on shorter routes which gives the appearance that Tebow is better at the long passes.
