Manning Nominated for FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week
The Broncos’ convincing 38-3 win over the Chiefs in Sunday’s regular-season finale yielded a pair of weekly award nominations for the Broncos.
Quarterback Peyton Manning is up for the FedEx Air NFL Player of the Week after completing 23-of-29 passes for 304 yards and three touchdowns with a QB rating of 144.8 in just three quarters of work in the win. The 144.8 rating is the highest by an AFC passer this season.
Manning is up against his brother, Eli, who passed for 208 yards and five touchdowns in the Giants’ 42-7 win, and Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder, who threw for 235 yards and three touchdowns in Minnesota’s Week 17 victory.
This marks the fifth time in 2012 — and second in the past two weeks — that Manning has been nominated for the weekly award.
Watch Manning’s postgame press conference here.
Fans can vote for one player in each category on NFL.com/FedEx from today through 1 p.m. MST on Wednesday to determine the FedEx Air & Ground NFL Players of the Week. The winners will be announced Wednesday on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com.
Fans will be voting for more than their favorite player. As part of the Air & Ground program and its commitment to small business owners, FedEx will support education efforts at Junior Achievement by making weekly $2,000 donations in each of the winning players’ names. The funding, allocated to local Junior Achievement area offices in that team’s city or state, is used to help U.S. small business development, by educating the next generation of entrepreneurs on how to start and grow their own businesses.
Team Nominated for GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week
Entering halftime of Denver’s Week 6 contest at San Diego, the 2-3 Broncos faced a 24-point deficit to the Chargers, who were looking to open a a two-game lead in the division.
From that point on, the Broncos outscored their opponents 346-151, a 195-point differential, on their way to 11 straight wins to finish the season as the AFC’s top seed.
That comeback is up for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the week. Fans can vote for the award at NFL.com/gmc until Wednesday at 1 p.m. MST. The winner will be announced Wednesday during NFL Network’s “Around the League” show and then posted on NFL.com.

Thank You so much for your response. Can I assume that 4:30 is Mountain Time?
i’ll be in vegas on the 20th and i sure cant wait to put on my bronco gear and hit the coolest sports bar i can find and go crazy!!
Picked up a rumor somewhere that Gruden would be interested in the SD job. Any truth to that?
I know. It was rough there for awhile dealing with people who hated Manning still, but look at what he’s done? Besides all the records he’s broken in the NFL, he’s broken quite a few Bronco ones too. And now he has the #2 defense behind him. Never had that before. In his entire career. I think Elway is building us for long term and the way Peyton is playing, he could want to stick around and play his whole contract out.
I just tell my cousin that we are lucky to be alive during this football season. I was 15 when Elway was winning SBs and I just didn’t appreciate it then the way I do now.
Oh yes, dwalls2 I did put mountain time on that game, sorry. I didn’t even think about it…
I think right now Gruden might just want Chicago more than SD.
I think the point was missed but we will agree to dissagree. sup lbf.
Hate to say it, but I’m guessing Cutler would be preferable to Rivers. Going to be a lot of changes at GM. IMO due to Bolen, Elway having raised the bar.
There is a rumor going around that Fox will be fired if we don’t win the Super Bowl. Ridiculous right?
Sorry TRB, I guess I didn’t get what you were saying.
Certainly sounds justifiable to me, but only after the third SB loss.
Its all good cat. And fox getting fired is about as likely as McDaniels being hired as his replacement if he were fired. Nonesense. Fox may not be belichek, but him and elway have drafted and recruited pretty well, and have built a strong supporting coaching staff underneath Fox.
TRB
That’s what I was thinking… Crazy people out there making stuff up!
I want a SB win for two reasons. 1 Get PM out from under the “Eli has 2 rings” shadow. 2 and more importantly, I want one for Champ! Man deserves it. He’s put in the work so let’s bring one home for him.
Champ deserves one.
Plus, if Peyton wins a SB with two teams… Wow.
New blog.
If we win the SB, Trindon Holiday will be 19-0 this season.
Hi, LBF!
I’m going to have to disagree with Porter helping us out if he is healthy. I like Porter and he is very talented but he does nothing to stop the 12 personnel of NE. I posted 3 or 4 days ago about the best personnel Denver could have on the field to beat NE.

First Down: Eric Decker
The Denver Broncos have had some very talented pass-catchers during their history — Rod Smith, Brandon Marshall, Ed McCaffrey, Shannon Sharpe and so on. None of those players accomplished what Eric Decker did Sunday.
With the first of his two TD grabs in Denver’s 38-3 rout of Kansas City, Decker became the first Bronco ever to record 20 touchdown catches over a two-year span. The former Minnesota Golden Gopher hauled in eight touchdowns last season, as the Broncos used Tim Tebow and Kyle Orton at quarterback, and finished with 13 scores this year.
Decker was amazing in minnisota. I watched his last couple games and was very impressed by him. When I saw we drafted him with Thomas I new one of them was goin to be a great addition, and then they both were lol. I was also very excited about eric page but he tore his acl before training camp and we released him. I wouldn’t mind him coming back next year and tryiung to make the team as the slot reciever and learn a thing or 2 from stokes.
As for this year… great job Broncos you have everyone scared of you, kinda like everyone is scared of Seattle. 2 hottest teams entering this years play offs and I would like to see that old AFC west match up in the superbowl… so we can continue our dominance over the sea chickens
Doom and von came half a sack short of my predictions for them this year… I feel that time that von decked cam newton in the backfield it should have been a sack but, I guess it was a run.. psh.
Peyton looks great.. our receivers are making lynn swann catches, moreno is running hard, our defense is swarming and playing amazing coverage… only one problem still exsists, well.. one problem and one minor detail. Manny Ramiraz, he does some great run blocking but man, he just let’s em go in pass pro… I really hope Kupe is back out there. Also, our middle lb is a bit slow. Didn’t get blocked on one play and still never got his hands on charles. I’d really like to see some speed in there.
Overall that was a great 16 game ride, in fact the last 33 of them have been a roller coaster. Fun times to be a Bronco fan and I TOLD you we were goin to get the 1 seed, I guarenteed it. Now let me make some more guarentees. Our first playoff game is the BUNGLES. Oh how fun. We stomp them into the ground and we move right on up to face the winner of the colts pats game. yes, the colts and bungles are both winning their play off games. Pats and Broncos move on to the afc champ. We get the matchup we need to validate this season on the second biggest platform and the game of the week. No more predictions till I see how things shake up till then. You can write that all down. Gig’em
Those are the same winners I see in the Wild Card round.
I don’t matter who gets through, they are in for a long sad day, Cause they got to wade through a sea of Orange to get to pay dirt and that ain’t gonna happen……I would like to see billacheat play that crap again! GO CRUSH! GO ORANGE! GO BRONCOS! DESTINY DYNASTY DESTINY
