1) Broncos vs. Steelers, Wild Card Round: On the first play of overtime, Tebow hits Thomas across the middle of the field, and the receiver sprints the rest of the way down the right sideline for an 80-yard, game-winning touchdown.

What do you think of the plays chosen? What about the order? Think we missed a play or two?

Let us know in the comments.

Trust me those international games are huge for the growth of the game. But like you said it is brutal on teams. Maybe they can have the pro bowl in different countries every year or take preseason games over seas.

  2. royalt19 says:

Aussie- we need more money invested in the D line. we have no depth at the DE position and Avril is a Beast, i mean just look at what he did to us when we played Detroit. we will get either Jarrel Worthy DT or a top CB prospect like Janoris Jenkins or Kirkpatrick from Alabama in the first round. I also believe that we need a top safety to go along side Carter. like maby Griffin TEN or Laron Landry WAS. we have the money but we just need to spend it to get to the promise land! GO BRONCOS!!

  3. tnalen66 says:

we signed a WR Hill. most likley will be cut b/4 the start of the season. waste of time & money

OT, and the rest of you guys, I have a little secret to share with you, but it really isn’t one I was trying to keep. I just never saw the need to divulge it before, because it never came up, and as far as I’m concerned, it shouldn’t matter. But, since you guys were talking about females on here earlier, I guess I should let you know that I too, am female. Happily married for 42 years to the same wonderful man, and we have two awesome adult children and one granddaughter.

My husband and I are both lifelong Bama fans, but we both went to Auburn, so we pull for both schools, until the Iron Bowl. We both love golfing, fishing, farming, hunting, gardening, and football, but he likes SEC football more than the NFL, and I love both. I also love sewing, cooking, reading, and playing the piano, so it takes all kinds to be a Broncos fan.

As we’ve gotten older, we don’t do some of the things we used to do when we were younger, such as water skiing at the lake, or snow skiing out West, but we spend a good bit of time at our beach home in the Spring and Summer.

At any rate, I am a retired accountant and Realtor, so I just enjoy life and my family, and do what I want these days, which really makes me thankful to be so blessed. So, there you have it, not that any of it matters. Just thought I would let you guys know a little bit about Tide Bronco.

  5. royalt19 says:

Lamicheal James would be an imediate upgrade to our offense. We need some explosive plays which we lack severly

  6. OrangeTsunami says:

If the NFL was smart they would do another league based in Europe or somewhere else, and instead of having lame names/uniforms, consisting of older, run down, cast off players, have it be a junior league where each team can cultivate young talent who might not be able to make the 53 man roster… They would be called the Broncos, Cowboys, etc., and wear the same uniforms.. It would build the brand, and create a larger talent pool, and the parent team could “call up” a player like in baseball.. Just a thought..

  7. BroncoAussie says:

    Haha nice Tide :)

Royal I know we need more more invested in the DL but there is heaps already, we have one of the highest paid DLs in the league. And when you include the 5mil contract of Bunk it gets bigger. I think they may try and find a project DE that they can mold, like what they did with Harvey last year.

I do agree we need a veteran presence at safety. Especially if Dawk retires.

And yes we need a good no 2 starting corner.

  8. BroncoAussie says:

    Tsunami, a feeder league, bingo!

  9. BroncoAussie says:

Royal for me Lamicheal James = Dexter McCluster, awesome talent but I fear the body won’t hold up in the pros.

  10. OrangeTsunami says:

Nice Tide! I knew I’d get someone to come out of the woodwork with that comment! Much respect! Btw, for the record, I always got great enjoyment from you and bays back and forth, and literally laughed out loud on several occasions! Leave it to two retired broncos fans from the south to battle it out, but this sheds a whole new light on the situation…. It’s a match made in Broncos heaven!!! LOL!!! ;)

  11. OrangeTsunami says:

I kid, I kid… But seriously, thanks for sharing and I’m glad you’re with us!

  12. Tide Bronco says:

LOL, OT, I know you were kidding, and I can’t tell you how much I’ve enjoyed blogging with you as well. I’m sure you really did get great amusement and enjoyment from our “back and forth” but it wasn’t that pleasant for me. I actually hate confrontation, but I’ve never shied away from standing up for what I believe.

At any rate, that’s in the past and my secret is out, so it’s all good. And thank you! That means a lot.

  13. BroncoAussie says:

Are confrontation, it is always fun :P but people always take it way to seriously. Everyone is different, every one has their own opinions, so who cares.

  14. Tide Bronco says:

You’re so right Aussie! We care more about our own opinions more than other people do, is what I always say.

  15. OrangeTsunami says:

Well, I certainly don’t like to get enjoyment out of something that is unpleasant for anyone.. It’s hard to get a proper tone from a blogger on a website, and it looks like I read it wrong.. Anyway, I don’t go back as far as either of you two, and I don’t know all the history, but the page has been turned…

I am impressed though! Not only a knowledgeable sports fan, but a strong willed woman! You better remind your husband just how lucky he is!

Quick question though – how on Earth do two Bama fans end up at Auburn??

  16. BroncoAussie says:

Yep Tide and when we put more steam in our own opinions than listen to others we never learn. You always learn more from others then thinking your always right. The enlightening I say.

And how does a Bama fan become a Broncos fan? Also what do you think of Jesse Williams the DT?

  17. Tide Bronco says:

OT, no, no, no, you didn’t read it wrong because I meant everything I said, exactly the way I said it, and I suppose it was funny in a strange kind of way, to onlookers, LOL. And if it had been you on the other end instead of me, I might have laughed out loud too, so please don’t give it a second thought. Really, please don’t. I’m not easily offended, so please don’t ever worry about that. This is just a blog to me, nothing more, and I usually don’t spend as much time blogging as I have the past few days.

At any rate, to answer your question about Auburn….my husband and I were high school sweethearts. He was the captain of the football team and I was captain of the cheerleaders, so we’ve shared football for a long time. When we graduated high school, the degree he wanted to pursue was only offered at Auburn in the School of Agriculture, which the University of Alabama didn’t have. Therefore, I decided to go to Auburn as well, since they did offer a degree in accounting, which I wanted to pursue, and the rest is history. We loved it Auburn though, and wouldn’t take anything for those years, but we still pull for Bama to beat them, UNLESS Auburn has a chance for the Championship, like year before last.

  18. royalt19 says:

i personally believe that lamicheal james would hold up fine in the league. he cant possibly be injured more than knowshawn:) we need that WOW guy on offense. our offense needs a homerun threat in the running game if thats all we are going to do. just keep running, just keep running, just keep running running running! it seems like thats all we did last year so having a chance of scoring an 80 yarder would make our offense much more feared

  19. BroncoAussie says:

Royal for me I prefer that guy to be a WR, a deep threat like DeSean Jackson is for the Eagles. I guy that can take it to the house on any play.

I like James but I do have issues with him, his body type and the draft pick that will be needed to get for him. It may be too much to pay for the limited role he would have on our offense.

  20. royalt19 says:

he could be our 2nd back behing Mcgahee. we dont pass it enough to need another WR. i just think since we run soooo much that we need a big play threat at the RB position plus our recieving core is actually pretty good but Tebow just has to get better at reading defenses and get them the ball. DT is a big play threat at that position.

  21. alex4serg says:

    BBBP #2:

Von Doom will combine for 25+ sacks

  22. OrangeTsunami says:

Great story Tide! You guys sound like the all American couple! Well, I hope you’re around for a long time, I enjoy your input.

Speaking of Auburn, I caught a part of sportscenter when I got home, where they were talking about last years 1st round defensive draft picks, and they brought up Nick Fairley… Clearly a huge disappointment at #13 overall… Guess there is something to “high character” guys..

  23. BroncoAussie says:

I wouldn’t like him as a number 2, because that guy has to share the load and run between the tackles. Which is a lot of wear and tear on the body. I do think if you brought James in as a change of pace guy and put him in space and ran him off tackle he could be great and break off those large runs. He could be very effective with those 5-10 carries a game. Where as a number two guy that carries it 10-15 times between the tackles, they get beat up. I don’t think he can last at that spot.

I agree on the WR corps. I think we have a really young talented group. We just need that veteran presence, I guy like Jabar Gaffney that can lead the group. I expect EFX to get a guy in FA to fill that role. But not someone like Moss or Vincent Jackson.

  24. BroncoAussie says:

Got to remember Tsunami, Fairley was hurt pretty much all year. You should expect good things from him next season.

  25. OrangeTsunami says:

Aussie – I agree, he was bit by the injury bug, and I may end up eating my words, but I remember the big knock on him was that he was lazy and would take off plays… Not a good trait, after a young man gets paid… Guess time will tell on that one

  26. BroncoAussie says:

The knock on him was ‘he was lazy and took plays off’ but I think Mayock and others sort of disproved that. But it will be interesting to see how he bounces back. Him next to Suh is a nightmare.

  27. royalt19 says:

I agree that we need a veteran in our WR core but not a big name guy. What we really need to help improve our passing game is a good TE. A TE is a QBs best friend in the red zone.

What do you think of DT Jerel Worthy? I just got done watching him on youtube and that guy was in the backfield on almost every play. We need someone to get that push up the middle and to line up next to Bunkley. I really hope we sign Cliff Avril DE from the lions. we need more than just VonDoom on our line to truely be succesful. just look at the Giants Dline. They have great depth on thier Dline and look at where they are. Thats the only way to consistantly beat great QBs like Brady or Rodgers.

  28. OrangeTsunami says:

The potential on that D-Line is immense.. But there is some issues with character on that team, starting with the coach.. Their secondary is terrible as well, I wonder how long they will ignore it in the draft

  29. BroncoAussie says:

Yep no big name guy with a huge contract, someone that is happy to lead and teach.

I think the Broncos are hoping Julius Thomas is that receiving TE guy. Time will tell.

I really haven’t got into the prospects yet. I had a bit of a look at Brockers and Still and liking what I see. But haven’t got to Worthy yet. At the moment with the way the D-Line currently is I am prefering going the corner option in the first.

Again I think Avril is too costly, it would mean we would probably have to get rid of Ayers. But a good situation pass rusher is needed.

  30. BroncoAussie says:

Any time you have Phonz Smith in the Secondary your going to suck.

  31. royalt19 says:

I think Worthy might have some character isues but nothing that cant be straightened up. The guy plays like he loves to play the game though i have to give him that.

  32. BroncoAussie says:

It will all change after the Combine and pro days. But there are some nice DTs at the top of the draft so far.

  33. royalt19 says:

No way, we shouldnt get rid of Ayers. He could rotate in at both DT and DE which like i said gives us depth which we greatly need. We could sign a corner in free agency and not worry about one in the draft. I like Tracy Porter, Cortland Finnegan, Ladarius Webb, and Brandon Carr. Trust me when i say that a great Dline makes up for alot of holes in our secondary. We just need a consistant CB opposite Champ, not another Champ. We also have the funds this year to sign a good safety.

  34. Tide Bronco says:

I totally agree Aussie. I’m a big advocate of everyone being able to express their own opinions without being made to feel unworthy, if you get what I mean. We all believe what we want, and that’s just something bloggers have to deal with….as respectfully as possible. It can get a bit difficult at times, though.

As for becoming a Broncos fan, it’s a simple explanation. They were so bad in the late 60′s, and the guys who followed pro football in my group of friends talked about how terrible they were, and I sort of felt sorry for them. I just have this thing about underdogs and feel the need to cheer them on. Then I got interested in following them through the occasional article in the sports section of the newspaper. Then in the 70′s, things improved a little, and I got more interested. Then Elway came on the scene in ’83, I haven’t looked back. I’ve seen a lot happen with this team, and at one point, I wasn’t even sure they were going to stay in Denver, but it’s been a long, entertaining ride.

  35. royalt19 says:

I am affraid with coach Fox’s track record of not addresing the DT position that he will go after another position. If we dont draft a top DT i hope its because we signed a top player at that position in free agency.

  36. BroncoAussie says:

I would be all over Brandon Carr, the others are so so and all have their issues.

To fit I guy like Avery in the team we would need to cut the fat else where. I think Ayers has that DE spot locked down and with the return of our DTs our DL is pretty stacked. Warren, Vickerson, Bunkley and Thomas are a good bunch. Throw in McBean who can cover both positions (NT, UT) and your set, though I think we can upgrade McBean with a draft pick.

But Doom’s contract hurts us and what we can do a DE. I think they will get that low cost high reward top of DE. Not sure who that would be though.

  37. BroncoAussie says:

Royal check my stacked at the DT position, I don’t think it is of high need. But a impact pass rusher at UT would be great.

  38. BroncoAussie says:

    Totally agree Tide.

And that is awesome you have been following so long. You should have some great memorys about the team then.

  39. BroncoAussie says:

Anyway I am out, laters all.

  40. royalt19 says:

You are right about us having a good Dline but after seeing the Giants win another Superbowl it just seems to me that we need that GREAT Dline because lets be honest, we wont be winning many shoot outs. We have to make the opposing QB uncomforitable even when Dumerville and Miller are a the sideline catching thier breath. Getting consistant pressure on the QB means easy turnovers to give our offense all the chances we can get to put up some points.

  41. Tide Bronco says:

Aussie, I forgot….I LOVE Jessie. He’s done you all proud, and we’re proud to have him at Bama.

  42. G_moneycricket says:

I want Eddie Royal, Matt Prater, Britt Colquitt, Mario Haggan, Wesley Woodyard, Broderick Bunkley, Marcus Thomas, and Daniel Fells all RE-SIGNED for 2012.

I had to Post this… Funny cause the guy uses the word beef in the Bronco pick… then has us Taking my round 3a selection at spot 25, a full 50 picks ahead of where I had us taking him…

  46. Bronco_Turtle says:

That draft also does not show Worthy as a first Round selection…

I’d really rather Hightower over Ta’amu in the first… Hope we can score both!!!

  48. BeastFromEast92 says:

Turtle, the Steelers pick one spot before we do,and they done said they would draft Hightower if he was still there,so we won’t get him,I want him too!!!!!!

2 years ago the Steelers said they would draft Pouncey 17th or 18th,and we traded down hoping to get him,but true to their word they picked Pouncey(a Pro Bowler) leaving us to pick Walton (an average Center)IMO!

TRB,I read were you guys were talking about Janson Jackson S from McNeese St,I think,he was playing opposite the 5th dimension(Eric Berry) at UT,he would be a steal if we could get him in the 3rd or 4th round,he smoked a little weed, and got kicked off the team, but that’s not all that bad in my book,he is a great player with very high potential.

  49. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Broncos Aussie as I live and breath. Thought u were dead bro lol. I was just speaking on here about yall and the Dynamic Dave days. Glad to see you still drop by every once in a while. Need to visit your site more.

Tide, never woulda guessed u were female. Not that it changes anything. Got a few female bloggers on here. But i must say, after u divulged it I started reading your post in a females voice and from a females perspective lol. I know I know, can’t help it tho lol. We once had alot of the regulars tell their story like a couple months back, u missed out on it so its only right u do it now.

BFE, I also don’t see the big deal in weed charges but im from a dif generation. All i know is if we are considering Kirkpatrck or Janoris Jenkins, we should consider Janzen as well because they all had the pot issue. And like someone let us know, apparently it is legal in Denver lol

    TGIF. Later days, TRB
