Broncos Take Team Photo

September 17th, 2011 - 6:56pm by Max Henson

Before the Broncos took part in a walkthrough session today, they posed for their annual team photo. The photo took less than a minute to take.

Photographer Eric Bakke took the photo for the 27th consecutive year.

In addition to the players and coaching staff led by Head Coach John Fox, the photo includes individuals who work day-to-day with the team.

Owner and CEO Pat Bowlen, President Joe Ellis, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway and General Manager Brian Xanders are pictured in the second row from the bottom with Fox.

    Nice pic.

Is it going to be available for purchase?

  2. RabidOrange says:

Well, this time tomorrow, we’ll know what John Fox can do with the team in the span of a week. Hopefully he had KO take some reps with our excellent cheerleaders in an effort to get some spirit in the guy. I’m not sure how many more quarters I can take of Zombie Quarterbacking. All in all, even given Monday’s performance, I am itching to watch me some Broncos football. Here’s to stuffing Benson, sacking Dalton, picks, fumble recoveries, and general mayhem on defense. Here’s to Jeremiah Johnson’s first 100 yard game, Orton’s multiple red zone TD passes, and Decker and Royal’s 100 receiving yard game each! Semper Broncos!!!

More Koolaid please. I drank all mine and need seconds… Free refills???

  4. Orange_Crusher says:

Letting the team speak for themselves….

Dawkins is worried about fresh legs in December…
“I think having fresh players counts, especially in December,”

Fox isn’t worried about losing fan support because he gets paid so much that he just grins from ear to ear all the way to the bank.
“In this job, you’re going to be criticized, and that’s why we’re compensated like we are,” Fox Said.

Elway is not going to judge Orton on the first game of his 7th season because Elway had a bad 1st game as a rookie……
“If decisions were made based on one week, I’d have been outta here after my first start”

Orton hates the Bronco fans and is only here to collect a paycheck….
“Thank God the people (fans) don’t make the decisions. That’s really all I got to say about it.” He added “my last goal playing quarterback is to win over the fans, that is my last goal.”

Fox thinks he’s making the right choice at QB because Josh thought the same way…
“Right now we feel like Kyle Orton gives us our best chance. Even the staff before us felt that way,” Fox said.

Then they have Tebow beat down into a corner…
“We got people in charge here that we trust and trust they’re going to do the right thing,” Tebow said.

McGahee is well rested and under no pressure…
“I’m good,” McGahee said. “There’s no pressure here. I had my rest, so it’s time to work.”

McGahee also thinks the Bengals will play well because they get paid a lot too…
“The Bengals get paid just like us. They’re there to make plays. They’re in the NFL for a reason.”

Alrighty then, this is what I’m hearing………

We need fresh legs in December……………Check
Fox is compensated enough to ignore fans…Check
    Elway Loves Orton……………………Check
    Orton hates fans…………………….…….Check
Fox agrees with McDaniels about Broncos QB’s…Check
    Tebow is beat down………………………..Check
McGahee has no pressure and is well rested……..Check
Bengals and Broncos both get paid to play football…Check

Okay, I hear you guys loud and clear…Money, money, money, makes the football world spiral around….. I get it……

Soooo, let’s see, based on my current knowledge of our players and coaches positive financial portfolios, as it relates to performance on the field… I think the Broncos will come up about 5 dollars short of beating the Bengals in Pay-For-Play Football Sunday at Money Field a Mile high…..

But it doesn’t matter if we lose because “it’s only one game, and one game doesn’t make a season” ….

    Broncos 27
    Bengals 32

Well said, OC. I can’t think of a better way to put it. I hope you’re wrong, though. I hope we have enough left over for ice cream sundaes after the game. Let the Bengals bum change for cab fare to get home.

    Semper Broncos!!

  6. baylinorcrush says:

    Excellent collection of quotes OC.

  7. RabidOrange says:

OK, I am sorry if this has already been covered, but how is it a credible argument that “McDaniels thought it was a good idea”? I’m just curious.

  9. Orange_Crusher says:

Thanks RabidOrange, that would be great if the Broncos can find a way to pull out a win..!! It would make my day tomorrow…!

Oh, I’m Broncin’. Seriously, I think a big fat W tomorrow would make everyone’s entire week. Plus, it’d be VERY beneficial to ride a wave of momentum and positive vibes into Tennessee next week.

Nothing but respect for Erick Bakke who has been doing this with the team for so long and who always brings us great shots. I would consider it a pleasure to be around the team I love while capturing some monumental moments in its history. Wish the blogs could have higher resolution photos tho, but I understand why not. Best of luck to the Broncos tommorow, they are gonna need it. Later days, TRB

  17. daddybronc says:

The only way Broncos win is if special teams and defense do a lot of scoring.
    The O line is broken.

    Broncos – 9 Benson – 21

  18. TheHorseWhisperer7 says:

I think the key for us to win or improve on this week is O-line, rush and pash block. They were horrible last week but im not taking any blame off Orton for playing literally the worst game ive ever seen him play. And at least we aren’t playing McFadden again this week thank god.

  19. TheHorseWhisperer7 says:

If i was john fox id give up our entire draft and next years 1st and 2nd for NDAMAKONG SUH.

  20. sirobertvondoom says:

I am a die hard bronco fan, and sadly i see it being a rough go for us this year. No matter what happens this year I think we have a great chance to be successful next year! With that being sad, were most likely not going to the playoffs this year. So what is the point having Orton as QB? they tried trading him so they obviously dont see him being long-term guy. So why not see what TEBOW has got?? I am having a hard time figuring it out. win win if we start tebow.he does good we know he can do it, otherwise we dont do good at all and get luck or even kellen moore? although i dont see it in tebow to fail, what u guys think?

  21. Broncownage says:

    @vondoom

My thoughts exactly. I don’t understand how they can’t see the logic in playing Tebow this year to see what we have in him. Playing Orton will give us absolutely NOTHING.

He’s obviously going to be gone next season since we’ve already tried to trade him. More importantly, the whole “he will give us the best chance to win” is complete (insert choice word for bodily excrement ). I don’t see how we could possibly win more than 3 games this season with Orton fumbling at the helm. I’m certain, although it wouldn’t be “pretty”, Tebow would will our team to more wins than that. And even if he didn’t, it would be 100 times more exciting to see Tebow fight for it until the clock reads 00:00 in the 4th.

So what’s the point in investing in Orton? How can it not make sense to see what we have in Tebow – who just so happens to be the only QB who will be around for awhile (at least according to his current contract)? If he fails (which I highly doubt), then we know we need to get a QB in the draft. Simple as that.

And again, just beating a dead horse here… but by golly – I’m gonna beat it until that horse gives us a new QB! Haha.

    GO BRONCOS!

  22. 1nOnlyTRB says:

Sir obert, what you has just mentioned and asked has been brought up many times. What is going on defies all logic. It is one of the greatest mysteries of the world. And the only answer I can come up with is A.) Orton practices well and B.) They like Tebow so much that they fear that if he fails after putting him out too soon, the fans will turn on him or he will lose trade value … which is not that great now but can get worse if he stinks up the joint. But quite honestly, not only do I think he will not fail … I also don’t agree with either of the 2 scenarios I just put forth.

Fox played us … if there was one statement that misled everyone more than any other state it was the “I prefer a gamer to a practice QB” and everyone knows Orton Practices well, and Tebow just finds a way. And yet, here we are. Believe me, if things don’t improve with Orton. Tebow will be out there soon enough. No one is quick to admit they might have been wrong … especially when ur job is not in jeorpardy … I see fox here for at least 3 years … barring a 0-16 season or something. TRB

  24. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

The Bengals have never gone 2-0 when their first two games are on the road but they are facing a beat up Broncos team that is in a little bit of disarray. I see a shootout @ Mile High, eventually with the Broncos coming out on top. The Bengals haven’t had a win in Denver since 1975 (and i’m hoping history stays on our side).

    **Official Prediction Entry***

    Broncos – 27

    Bengals – 23

    -Royalty

  25. Broncos2145 says:

Okay, the Broncos have no running game and Fox and Elway don’t think Tebow’s ready to play QB. Can’t they please at least try him at RB to see if he can help? He could throw the HB option pass too.

  26. 57Yellow T-Bird says:

    Re-post from previous blog

    Bengals 27 Denver 19

Yeah, I know, it’s been a while. Just haven’t had much desire to blog lately; although I’ve been reading a bunch. Last week was very disconcerting seeing as how the offensive line couldn’t do squat. Franklin was absolutely attrocious, as was the rest of the OL. I figure to see the same thing this week vs. the Bengals. Did anyone see any of the CU/CSU game? They played at (whatever it’s called) at Mile High today (Couldn’t we just call it Mile Hi Stadium and get it over with?). I think it was raining and the field was wet/slick. Didn’t watch very much of that game, but I figure we’ll see the same sloppy conditions tomorrow, and another sloppy Broncos game like last week. Unless, that is, the defense actually shows up. With the injuries to Doom, champ and company, I don’t see that happening, however. Hope I’m wrong

Some of you guys are nuts how close you come to the midnight deadline for the score prediction (Royalty and T-Bird) by just a couple minutes, however one guy missed it completely (broncos20), so don’t cut it so close or you’ll be disappointed again some day (Royalty), just trying to help.

    Anyhow, GAME DAY!

    All predictions are in!

    Good luck to everybody.

  31. baylinorcrush says:

This is in Kiszla’s mailbox, a long time Carolina fan addressing Kiz:

“Your observations on Fox’s neanderthal offense and the lack of focus by his players are all too familiar to Carolina Panthers fans. We had a glimmer of success in 2003, but Fox has been living off that flash-in-the-pan season ever since. Y’all in Denver will have to suffer a lot before ownership bites the bullet and moves into the 21st century with a coach who recognizes the state of the NFL. If Fox were still with Carolina, who do you think would have been the Panthers’ starting quarterback in Week 1? Jimmy Clausen, not Cam Newton. Fox wouldn’t recognize a winning quarterback, even at the Hall of Fame.”

    Clarke, area code 336

    And here is another one:

“I’m pretty sure your NFL Sundays in Denver will be as exciting as watching ‘Meet the Press.’ Coach Fox is a nice guy. He lived in my neighborhood when he coached Carolina. But his style of football is lethargic, and that is on a good day. Panthers fans feel your pain. But don’t despair. There is room on the Cam bandwagon. And to think Fox would have passed on him in the draft if he were still our coach. I know that for a fact. Kind of speaks to his conservative nature.”

    Andrew, Charlotte, N.C.

    To which Kiz answers:

Kiz: Well, Fox did predict before the NFL draft that Carolina general man- ager Marty Hurney might well take Alabama defensive lineman Marcell Dareus rather than Newton. After watching Newton pass for 422 yards in his NFL debut while wearing a Carolina uniform, I wonder how Fox is at forecasting the weather.

Fair and balanced, just always trying to look at both sides of a story.

  32. baylinorcrush says:

Krieger is no different than most of the fans here and has obviously been reading this blog:

    http://www.denverpost.com/krieger/ci_18920832

The what Orton should say to the fans rather than what he says is exactly what I talked about this past week.

I really like this photo. live in Illinios and I have always been a big fan of the Denver Broncos, even when John Elway was playing. Great Photo!!! Go Broncos!!!

  35. baylinorcrush says:

Sorry nalen as always never any predictions taken on game day, but hope you’re right anyway.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

Klis says something idiotic about the Tebow/Orton thing but Lloyd counters him saying something smart for a change:

What I am saying is that collectively, the Broncos may now have the worst home crowd in the league.

    Divided they stand.

“I don’t agree,” Broncos receiver Brandon Lloyd said. “Players have to play better. The fans aren’t going to stand up and cheer all doggone game when the team is giving up yards, and not running the ball and turning the ball over. The quarterback and the head coach get the brunt of all the bad stuff. That’s the nature of the industry.”

Sounds like whatever advice he has gotten from whoever Lloyd should give the guy’s phone number to Orton.

  37. baylinorcrush says:

Now the truth of the matter about Orton, the only thing that’s truly relevant for the Broncos, or should be:

The Broncos are 1-9 in Orton’s last 10 starts, 5-18 in his last 23.

  38. baylinorcrush says:

weatherman, the best part of that was the cartoon, LOL.

  39. seweatherman1 says:

And he is going to lead us to the playoffs or SB…I have mountain land here in the Everglades that I would like to sell too!!

  40. baylinorcrush says:

This is equally the other most telling part of that article other than the cartoon:

ESPN analyst Tim Hasselbeck said the biggest difference between the Broncos’ quarterback situation and what Cincinnati has with Dalton and Carolina has with Newton is Orton — an established and confident NFL starter.

“It is how you manage it, how you manage that position and those guys, and I don’t know that they’ve done a good job with how they’ve handled it,” Hasselbeck said of Broncos coaches, who have yet to unveil any special packages for Tebow this season.

Tebow accounted for four touchdowns (three rushing, one passing) in the six games in which he played in a backup role in 2010. He threw for four more scores and ran for two more touchdowns in his three games as a starter at the end of the season.

“If you can’t find a role for him, I think you’re doing a bad job at managing the talent on your football team,” Hasselbeck said.

    Amen, Tim.

  41. seweatherman1 says:

That is the reason I posted the link. Seems we are not the only ones thinking this way. I fully agree with his evaluation.

  42. baylinorcrush says:

And this thing about the huge difference in philosophy Bengals starting a rookie QB and us not giving a chance to a second year QB does not stop here, very far from it, it’s almost all across the board different between Lewis’s approach and Fox’s:

The Bengals have one of the youngest and least experienced teams in the league after getting rid of receivers Chad Ochocinco and Terrell Owens and a few other veterans. Their opening-game roster was the AFC’s youngest.

I mean that’s what happens when Marvin Lewis has been losing for so long when he was supposed to be real good each year with all those vets he held onto, he finally got it, out goes the old, in come the new, total re-build, the only way to go for horrible teams.

So does that mean that Fox will have to wait to lose for just as long as the Bengals did to do something that courageous and really start from scratch? Most very likely.

    Bummer.

  43. baylinorcrush says:

That’s why I don’t post links very often, I rather post bits and pieces of articles, the ones that really get my juices flowing and put in my two cents worth as I go, it feels more entertaining to me that way, helps me make my points better.

  44. seweatherman1 says:

Paige says it nicely I think:
“During training camp, Orton told a local radio station that the last two seasons were the best of his career, and also said to reporters, “I’m playing the best football of my career.” Then, he added, “all I’ll do is let my play speak for itself.”

After the latest loss to the Raiders, the Broncos are 11-18 when Orton starts. Let that record speak for itself.

The Broncos and Orton, to be compassionate, aren’t very good. Once again.

And people who paid good money in a bad economy have a right under the U.S. Constitution to boo, leave and chant the names Tim Tebow, Brady Quinn, Jay Cutler, John Elway and Thomas Jefferson. It’s a great, free country, in which a quarterback can receive $8.879 million — possibly more than the combined salaries of all the “fans” in Section 542.

But members of the “media” claim those people are unsophisticated and must not boo or chant names, and they embarrassed Denver on national TV.”

    Pretty well sums it up!

  45. imready says:

Many of you were extremely excited to have John Fox, a defensive minded coach who like to run the ball, hired as coach. You continue to pick out select quotes or portions of quotes and present them out of context to support your pathetic outlock on life. He’s lost one game and has a slew of injuries, it happens in the NFL. Nobody has a crystal ball that can see the future. We don’t run anything close to Carolina’s offense, that should be obvious to all of you extremely knowledgible football fans. I bet many of you don’t have any friends as quickly as you turn on people you publically have supported. Why any of you gods of the NFL would expect a team that was the 2nd worst in the league to become suddenly superbowl contenders after a few weeks of practice is preposterous. Try to be a fan today if you haven’t forgotten how. Support your coaches and players! Go Broncos!

  46. MANDIEGO says:

Broncos 13 Bungles 28, this will lead to the exact same posts and conversations as last year. Keep yelling fans, as there is no change insight. I am just hoping that with our “glass jaw” players maybe a future impact player will emerge form the depths of your roster, but I’m not holding my breath.

With the boring pathetic play we are about to see, I just hope the camera man gets some good cheerleader shots to keep me awake…….

  47. baylinorcrush says:

You remember the days when Orton was still a winning QB, 21-12 when he came from the Bears, well now he is barely holding on with a 32-30 winning record. He must not like it very much here, 21-12 with the Bears, 11-18 with the Broncos…. Talk about a total flip flop, proof that he needs a strong supporting cast to succeed, which we don’t have, yet, nowhere close, can’t stop the run, can’t run the rock, patience, Fox will build all that and Orton will succeed….

Wait a second, I have another more efficient idea, since it will take years to build the supporting cast Orton needs to be successful, why don’t we go with a QB who needs less of a supporting cast, one who can improvise under duress, of is that too simplistic, oh well, I tried, LOL.

  48. baylinorcrush says:

No predictions taken on game day, but hopefully yours is wrong, haha.

  49. rayjr26 says:

@ imready, no one expected superbowl this year… or at least not many! but by your own admission we were the second worst team in the league last year, and (paraphrasing here) cant turn it around that quickly. so im guessing by that statement that you dont see playoffs either, since playoffs = good year. So tell me….. why is Kyle “the turtle” still starting? thanks for making our point for us!

    Keep on buckin broncos!
