Broncos Release Nine Players

September 4th, 2009 - 3:44pm by Chris Gentilviso

Hours after closing out the preseason with a 19-0 victory over the Cardinals, the Broncos announced the release of nine players on Friday.

On the offensive side, Ingle Martin, Kory Lichtensteiger, Clint Oldenburg, Nate Swift, and Marcus Thomas were released. Leaving the defense are Matthias Askew, Rashod Moulton, Carlton Powell and Lee Robinson. In a separate move, Matt McChesney was placed on the reserve/injured list.

The team has until midday Saturday to submit its final list of 53 players for the regular season opener at Cincinnati on Sept. 13.

I agree with this move. Nice work MICKKY D.

the Broncos have cut outside linebacker Tim Crowder and have kept outside linebacker Jarvis Moss. Moss was Denver’s top pick in 2007, while Crowder was the second-round pick. Both players were moved from defensive end to linebacker by the new Denver regime this year as it transitioned to the 3-4 defense.

Crowder had a promising rookie season, but he struggled last season. He looked good early in camp this year, but he couldn’t fully make the transition. Moss has been a huge bust so far, but Denver is giving him another chance. He left camp earlier this summer, but returned committed to the team. Denver was offering Moss in a trade during the late rounds of the April draft.

I believe pacman was the one who was gonna play for Winnipeg in Canada, but they turned him down. I think Tatum is gonna play for some secondary football league in the States, like the american football league or something. At least that’s what I thought I read.
