Broncos Waive Hackney

April 6th, 2009 - 5:07pm by Gray Caldwell

The Broncos announced quarterback Darrell Hackney was waived Monday.

In 2007 and 2008, Hackney spent time on the practice squad and the team’s active roster — though he didn’t see any playing time either season.

That leaves Kyle Orton and Chris Simms as the two quarterbacks on Denver’s roster.

I kinda confused…Why would we need a trade or a first rounder QB if we have two regulars Qb’s an awesome O-line and outstanding receivers…We need D.And we need our runners heathy, monodono says the balance is the secret right?SO there you go.Don’t over price Qb’s on first round.
Balance is the key.Look at pittsburgh. They don’t have THE best D or THE best O.They are balanced.

I wanna rings regardless who’ s trowing the ball.I love this city ad this team.

    I bleed orange and blue

ramboskithefan, it takes guts to say he out played cutler. but…. he did. so why are we the only two that see that? coachability? lockerroom problems? IMO his arm was stronger than cutlers when he rolled out and threw on the run. I can remember a few plays like standing on 1 foot and throwing a pretty long pass to royal and the ball had a lot of zip on it. My hope is they bring him back for the mini-camps so he can get a real shot at a job. he is better than any q/b we will be able to grt in the draft.
