Ok. Back to the positive and optimistic!
We have a young squad. Many of whom will be getting their first taste of postseason glory! Regardless of how we earned our berth, the fact remains we WILL be in the tournament.
Seems to me, the pressure will be all on the visitors since they are the ones with the experience…and we shouldn’t even be there…let’s play like we are trying not to win (since playing not to lose really hasn’t worked all that well for our offense..)
Lou you’re going to have to put your prediction in again tomorrow, predictions aren’t taken on game days JFYI
win next week for Kuper!
The Steelers are going to be banged up a bit, one of their RBs, Mendenhall (i think?) may have a torn ACL, their O-line isn’t that great either, so hopefully we can get to a slightly hobbled Ben, also I believe one of their DBs has HUGE problems playing in altitude, last time he played here (his name escapes me) he had to get his spleen among other organs REMOVED, he may not even play. The lord knows we need all the help we can get, any type of edge is well received.
if our D plays like they did today and we run the ball we have a chance. Again Mr. Tebow no TOs and know the situation. pick up the 3rd downs, no more of the back pedaling, no dumb sacks, throw it away.
D must get to Ben and tackle
Coach Fox don’t forget who your kicker is.Kick the 57 FG B/4 haft time!
Yeah win this one for King Kuper! Hopefully Tebow can throw the football better than Super Mario hops fireballs LOL JK. Ok i’m gone…
ILMSDB!!!
MILE HIGH SALUTE — MY SOLDIERS ARE ETERNAL

well i am happy that the Jets and Raiders did not make it and we did
Well, I am not the expert that many of you are. I do know that of the QB’s from Tebow’s draft year he is the only one in the playoffs. All those NFL ready guys that have been in for 2 years do not even have a winning record. And technically Tebow has almost the equivalent of one season not two. I say B. Lloyd might be missing the Broncos about now. Yes, Tebow has struggled but let’s keep perspective. In the games he has started he has a winning record. During week six before they started Tim, we were arguing over draft picks and were starting to write off this season. CAN YOU SAY PLAYOFFS! That is a very welcome sound to these Bronco ears!
Champions of the AFC WEST… from 1-4… No one should be complaining about ANYTHING! Tebow Needs work… the Roster needs Depth but hey… WE ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS!!! and that makes me Smile!!!
?
daddybronc? is that you?
I’m not a big fan of the way we looked today… in honesty can’t say I’m a fan of Foxxy Ball completely yet…. Grind it, Pound it… Kick it… Grind it… Blah…
It’s not exciting… but the more I watch old Panther film, the more I realize that this is the kind of coach that he is… He chose Jake Delhomme for many seasons… Tebow will be fine, but the Vanilla play calling and predictability will get really old… I’m a fan of the Bronco’s and I’m a fan of Going to the Playoff’s but I’m not a fan of how it is being done… It may grow on me, but it’s not what i’m used to…
ONE LOVE IN BRONCO COUNTRY!!!
FTS!!! We owe the Steelers…
)
Yeah – It’s me but I’ve been blocked and I was just experimenting. I’m not going to post until I figure out what this is about. I emailed Zaas. Dumb – because you know that everything I post is completely innocuous. I’ll be off – just wanted to see if I could open another label.
don’t get me wrong anyone, I’m ecstatic that the Broncos are finally making an appearance in the playoffs after 6 years! That’s amazing, but it’s troubling that we have lost our last 3 in quite an embarrassing way to be quite honest. It was good to see our defense making so many stops once again today and we will need that in the playoffs! One thing our D will need to improve on though are turnovers! I don’t believe we have forced a turnover since we played the Bears! Also we need to get that pressure on the QB back! As for the offense…I believe we need to spice up the play calling a bit. I’m not saying Tim Tebow isn’t to blame for his 2 and a half game funk, but mike McCoy is running an offense right now that, quite frankly, I believe I could call a defense against. Denver is too predictable! Bottom line! I hope Fox, Tebow, the D, and most important this TEAM can pull it together and right their wrongs before this game or it will be a quick shameful exit from the playoffs for the Broncos!
Sorry people I did some digging and it’s not good. It’s not EFX that wants Tim gone. It just the E that wants him out.. The fix is in to turn the fan base against the kid. Not becuz of his religious belief and not about his play on the field. The brass wants him out becuz of this fact and THIS FACT ONLY. Football is not the most important thing to him. You always hear Tim say it’s just a game at the end of the day. If in his life all he did was play football. Then that would be a life not worth anything really. THAT’S IN TIM’S MIND WRONG OR HOWEVER YOU SEE IT. NOW LOOK AT HIS BOSSES ALL OF THEM. From Elway all the way down to Gase. The most important thing in there lives is football. Live and breath it by any means. (You know the rest of the statement.) So hear is a catch 22 that no bronco fan or Tebow fan can answer. What do you pay a franchise QB, when you know football is just a stepping stone?? They played Tim today and to be honest I didnt even see it till it was pointed out to me by credible people. Orton was demoted not cuz of the fan out cry. Not cuz they wanted to see what we have. Orton was benched cuz he couldn’t care the team like elite QBs. So the suck for Luck plan was on. Tebow was suppose to be the scapegoat for that play. Something happened though. We won 7-2 and it back fired on them. Tim was getting all the pub. Still saying football is not that important in the grand scheme of things. Even when coaches, players ,and etc stay late hours. For the others than family football is the only thing. Dont get me wrong they like him as a person. They really just don’t wanna work with him. They fill like he is not cut from the same cloth as them. You will never hear them say football is just a game NEVER. We are not gonna draft a QB. Elway doesn’t wanna reach. So the plan is this for next yr. They will sign Weber to a contract. Then sign a free agent coming off his rookie contract to compete with Tebow. So they can say see we tried and draft someone the following yr. Sorry if Tim Tebow doesn’t take the ownership of the position now. He will be traded or cut the last yr of his contract Like Kyle ironically. Tebow is playing scared to not lose his job. So if Elway get the QB he wants. He will either have to fire Fox or sit through that guy just throwing 18-25 pass a game. People think Fox was Elway’s hire. That’s funny why would John want a coaching staff running a different O than what he ran here. PAt Bowlen hired Fox not Elway. Bowlen was only in on 1 interview. You guessed it Fox. So why pay a QB so much money only to be conservative in playcalling?? Fans want a elite QB but he wont be used properly so it defeats the purpose right?? So either Tim is being setup or they not calling the plays he likes. Cuz with Gaffney and Llyod he looked good real promising. So what’s the difference between last yr and this? yeah Houston was the worst ranked D but now they are 1st. NE is worst ranked and Tim didn’t look like that Houston game. SD last yr was 1st in term of yards against. He still looked good with just 2 picks. He was never hopping around and tryna wait for a WR to break free. Go back at look at those game. Tebow looks different in the pocket from then till now. I know one thing for sure. Either Tim sucks and McD was doing a whale of a job. We know that wasn’t all to true. Then again the same things that they used to do to get the QBs ready like recording footwork to show the player his short comings. If you wanna believe it or not Tim is being hand cuffed. Like I told ya’ll b4 the player put Tebow in the starting position and Orton knew it. Why you think Orton kept going at Champ in the game. It was revenge time not against Tebow but Bailey. He couldn’t get at Bdawk for that matter with him not playing. So how will this end?? For now who cares ima ride the ride till it gets exposed or the wheels fall off. either way it wont end up good.
If Tebow doesn’t improve his passing he won’t be a QB in Denver for very long. I’m starting to get tired of seeing him with his poor accuracy and mis-reads. Sure there are still some drops but when you miss a wide open Decker on a crossing pattern that’s terrible. What’s the deal with Tebow’s fumble-itis?
I’m glad to be in the playoffs but I think we will look like the Chiefs did last year..a confused team in a foreign land, aimlessly wandering around with no sense of direction. If we don’t play better, especially passing, that’s exactly what we’ll look like.
Still disgusted at our late season slides! 7-3 loss at home…to a divisional opponent, 3 teams in the division 8-8, and we win because of a tie-breaker. The AFC West title is nice but the performace was pretty pathetic.
Greatness brings up some interesting points. It sounds credible…if anything else, because I can’t figure out why Tim looks so incredibly different now than he did a few weeks ago.
Broncos 3 Chiefs 7
Official score prediction contest week 17 results:
11 guys had this one right (us losing) and 6 of those were closer to the low score and racked up all the points. None of those guys were real close but they had a pretty good feel for what was about to transpire. Not like the 45 bloggers who are still predicting wins every week even in the face of the atrocious way we have been playing overall for the last three. Whatever rocks your boat, LOL.
1st place:
collies10, 14-17, 21 total points off and earning the big 7 points which propels him out of nowhere all the way to 7th place overall! Real well done chap, making Ireland proud, LOL.
2nd place:
baylinorcrush 13-19, 22 total points off and only missing 1st place by one lousy point, haha. Getting the ever valuable 4 points for that though and taking a huge step forward onto the podium overall now in 3rd place! Yahoooooo!!!!
3rd place:
The Dane 17-19, 26 total points off and earning his first three points of the competition. He posts a score about every week and his perseverance finally paid off, well done.
4th place:
BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979, 17-23, 30 total points off and the two points he gets for that brings him back in the top 5, in a two way tie for 5th place. I know that will please him greatly.
Two way tie for 5th place:
since1972, 10-31, 31 total points off earning him one more point, third time he has done that, consistent 5th place finisher.
S.D.Bronco30, 13-28, also 31 total points off and collecting one point for that bringing him up to 5 points overall even so he had a minus 5 points WOS earlier, pretty impressive.
The Wall of Shame is very easy this week, and it happens to be the second induction into it for this particular blogger who thought we would beat the Chiefs by a mere 7 TDs, hahahaha, excuse me but that’s pretty funny, CurtOU, 41-6, and with the minus 5 points this gets him he finds himself now at minus 4 points overall which is quite the achievement considering the minus 10 points from his 2 WOS.
This is how we stand Top Twenty overall at the conclusion of the regular season:
1. oldsouthstander, 25 points
2. timmah, 14
3. baylinorcrush, 13
4. thecladybunch, 12
Two way tie for 5th. Pdp1408 and BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979, each with 11 points
Two way tie for 7th. killerkod and collies10, each with10 points
Two way tie for 9th. RabidOrange and Orange_Crusher, each with 9 points.
Tie for 11th. raidrhadr, broncosmex, MANDIEGO, alexanserg, denver0723, rayjr26, Denver15, Atwater4HOF, minidisaa, mikew007, all with 7 points
And the bottom of the barrel, all minuses and all members of the 2011 Wall of Shame (from not so bad to absolute dead last):
shaztah and brian_schneider, both minus 1 point
CurtOU, minus 4 points (2 WOS)
mexbronco, true2broncos, strandoftds, rcsodak, Crush Arizona, MILEHIGH#7, yovi21, arch4662, Elways Ghost and risky305, all with minus 5 points each
Second to last, CarnageBronc, minus 6 points (2 WOS)
Dead last, the lantern rouge of Bronco Country, tnalen66, minus 10 points (2 WOS)
Score predictions for the first playoff game against the Steelers are now open and will be taken until Saturday midnight blog time, no picks on Gameday ever, no exceptions.
Good luck to everyone!
And to the Broncos most of all, they are going to need it, BIG TIME!!!!
You know 007 you bring up some interesting notions. Tim does say those things but you know what? He puts in a lot of work by staying late and arriving early. He devotes all of his time to football. When he says that football is not the most important thing in his life is that so bad? He only puts God and his family before it. I just wish they never would have changed his throwing motion so he wouldn’t have to think about it so much. Yes he makes mistakes but who doesn’t? Did Aaron Rodgers make mistakes against KC? Yes his pass completions were less than 50%. Not saying that Tim is even close to Rodgers but still no one is perfect. I really hope that Elway does work with Tim because he will be there every step of the way and will give nothing but 110%. From what everyone says it takes young QB’s time to read defenses and Tim will learn in time. At least give him the off season and some starts next year before declaring him unable to learn. Orton has had 7 years and still can’t score in the red zone so we are giving Tim 11 games with no off season and that is it? Like Elway said, the coaches haven’t had a lot of time to work with Tim on how to read defenses, go through progressions etc. because they mainly focus on the new game plan and stuff. He said this kind of specialized training occurs in the off season with specialized camps. I still think that we will see a much improved QB in Tim next year.
bay, all the pro-tebownites keep blaming the receivers and the playcalling and it’s driving me nuts. I will admit the playcalling wasn’t the best but come on!
Tebow had many times where he dropped back ad had plenty of time to make a play, and he didn’t. His poor decisions led to a turnover and sacks that put us out of FG range.
He looked lost out there and we look like the biggest joke in the league, backing into the playoffs like we have with a QB who is just downright horrible. Even Dilfer could make the throws when needed……..TT couldn’t hit the broadside of a barn.
And I wish people would give it up on this whole conspiracy theory…..I mean seriously? All the organization wants to do is win.
oh, but I forgot, it was the missed facemask non-call that cost us the game…LOL
I am a big Tebow supporter but I can even admit that he played aweful. I have never seen him look so deflated and I don’t understand that. His fire and passion was always something you could count on. Where has it gone? Could it be that the criticism is getting to him? Could it be that he doesn’t feel like the organization doesn’t believe in him? I have no idea but it is sad to see. I think he still loves the game and wants to be great though so there is still hope. I am not giving up on him until the day he retires. I am not giving up on the team either. Klis said that the team was going forward with Tim win or lose this week so they must see something worth building upon. If they aren’t giving up neither am I.
Look the reason Tebow is less effective now is teams have had a chance to watch a lot of film.
It’s up to Tim to get better. He’s a dynamic runner so he doesn’t have to become a Manning (either of them) or Brady.
But the game has to slow down for him. Right now, it’s sped up even more than last year becauses defenses are taking away his preferred options. He can’t “see” because it’s happening too fast. He’ll spend the off season not only on his mechanics but watching film, film and more film.
He’ll come to training camp as the presumed starter but he’ll have to compete. Everyone has to compete.
There’s no great conspiracies. And we all need to remember where we were this time last year. That’s right. Packing up the Broncos jerseys.
eventually his lack of passing ability would catch up to him and overpower his will to win……….and that’s just what has happened.
Eventually talent will prevail, or lack there of in this case.
At least we’re not saying these things after 35-45 games. Tim’s been the starter 14 times. He’s 8-6 in those games. Orton won like, what, 8 games in his 33 or whatever starts?
Killerkod……
After much reluctance…. I must concur….. sad but true……
Tebow can’t throw the football…
Sigh………..
Well shaztah what has deflated tebow and taken his fire away is teams now know what to do to render tim tebow completely ineffective. Lock him in the pocket and force him to step up and throw the ball, and he cannot do it. I think he now realizes this and it would make anyone deflate if they realized they are not effective. He probably is wondering how to fix it and there is no fix, he just can’t play qb in the NFL. That would be tough to take.
Killerkod,
Passing ability like all skills isn’t static. Skillsets increase and decrease according to natural ability, effort, coaching etc.
Tim never worked on pure passing skills. The guy didn’t even know how to take a snap properly.
So, he gets an off season to work, then he gets a few games to show what he can do as a legitimate designed run threat QB who can also throw with NFL accuracy. Basically Cam Newton type without the ego and stealing, cheating.
If he doesn’t work out, he gets benched. Just like anyone else. But you give a first round draft choice with 3 years left some time. Especially when you’re not picking until 21 ( at the earliest ). What are you going to do give up a Walker type of trade for Luck? We have too many needs to be able to make that work. They’ll draft a QB and/or grab one off of FA. Then all will get a chance to win the job as started.
And you can’t compare tebow to orton, saying tims a better qb because his record is better. Let me be the one to say it guys, Kyle orton is a much better qb than Tim tebow, it’s not even close. Now Tim does have a will to win, some unteachable intangibles, and a fire that Kyle does not have, so people tend to love tebow and hate orton. Not saying ortons the answer or a qb we should be trying to get back, just saying he is a better qb. And if a guy no one here wants is better than tebow, that should tell you something. But tebowade has dominated the water system or something and made this whole thing ridiculous.
like I said in a previous post……
the tebow time clock is stuck on four weeks ago and a quarter past brutal.
Not comparing the two, Lou, just saying Tim’s evaluation time is not over with, not even close.
Applejack, I can guarantee you Tim has been taught a ton of passing skills, they just didn’t ‘stick’ if you will. He does not have a talent for passing at an elite level, so he just used his other skills to get through high school & college ball, and because his ‘other’ skills were so dominant, it made him a great player then. But those things will not get you through at the NFL level, and hes got nothing now. He can no longer fall back on those things that made him a darling of the football and non football world, and the people can’t fathom it. They just can’t figure out how he’s no good and it’s causing havoc! Blame everyone but tebow is the new tebowites agenda and it’s not gonna work. Too many people know the truth.
Greatness is saying what I’ve basically been saying all along but that no one wants to hear namely football to Tebow is just a great pass time and mainly used as a platform for his bigger and better aspirations and that players like Elway have absolutely no love for that, and neither do I.
When I said that I got crucified. Now it all of a sudden makes sense….
All those behind the scenes things are usually so easy for me to identify I guess it always boggles the mind when what I see as clear as day isn’t seen by most.
I know I will be hated by most Tebow fans here and I don’t care, Tebow is not it, he had his shot to show his colors and they don’t match with the orange and blue, no way no how is he the answer long term, they got to 8-8 with an improbable division title, all the Tebow fans have been tamed because the organization gave them what they wanted, Tebow starting, and now they have no desire to make him look great so they just keep sticking with trying to make him a pocket passer, which is what Elway always said he needed to be, and they could care less about letting him loose and allowing him to play Tebow ball because winning another game would therefore complicate the decision to draft or acquire whatever best QB they can bring in next year to compete with Tebow.
That’s always been the organization plan and it kind of derailed for a while with all the miracle wins, but now that Tebow magic is no longer getting it done, there won’t be the slightest bit of problem with the fan base for them to go into next year with the bringing a new QB plan to seriously compete for the starting job.
That really is to me the only thing that makes any sense of how this entire season has played out.
But I’m sure a boat load of fans will totally disagree with me here, basically the same ones like who kept saying we were going to win the last three games…. So don’t be upset if I don’t buy your arguing to be versions of the whole thing, LOL.
Ok hyrule, not tryin to be disrespectful I promise, but tebows evaluation is over. There’s nothing there. There just never will be. Even JaMarcus Russell had a better showing his first season playing. And he didn’t even try.
also, passing ability in this league is something that I feel is a natural talent, not something that can be magically created in an off-season. He’s had 11 games to get better, and according to the media he’s been practicing hard at becoming a better passer.
If you haven’t got it, you just haven’t got it. And TT DOES NOT HAVE IT!
Well bay for the record, I agreed with you, and we def don’t always agree.
And about the play calling, what really makes me laugh is all the bloggers who are up in arms over McCoy blaming him for it while saying Fox really has nothing to do with that, talk about a load of uneducated crap!
McCoy and Fox have been joined at the hip for many years in Carolina and everything McCoy does is purely based on Fox desires, this is Fox ballpepole, not McCoy’s ball, if you don’t like the play calling blame Fox, making McCoy the scape goat is a joke, look at how he called the last three games of the year while not under Fox, night and day difference.
But all this is hogwash anyway as McCoy and Fox really have zero to do with Tebow’s inability to perform the duties of a NFL QB.
Even my buddy Orange_Crusher is starting to see all of that…. That right there says it all.
Fox ball people, haha
Ughh..
So here is what I liked on Sunday:
1) using Royal in the option. He is quick enough to get outside, and I think a little dump pass could be real nice.. He’s a guy you want to get the ball to in open space, where he can be very dangerous, but of course, he needs the ball in his hands..
2) I think the Ayers sack came when he was lined up at DT (correct me if I’m wrong).. Let this kid bulk up, which his body looks to be begging to do, and he will be a solid DT IMO..i’ve said before we need another pass rusher, and if anyone saw the Giants game, that’s what I’m talking about.. Give me a guy like JPP! Their front 7 has multiple guys who can seriously rush the passer, we have two undersized guys.. It’s a great start, but we need another bigger rusher to disrupt the elite QB’s, otherwise we’re toast IMO
Things I didn’t like:
1) to end the half, w/o any points at that point, and with a first down at the KC 40 yard line, this is the time we decide to pass?! We go pass, run, pass – three and out.. I know we want to be more balanced, but this is the time to run, get closer for prater, and run the clock off… But we punt b/c we left too much time on the clock, worried if we miss – horrible, anyway you want to look at it…
2) Tebow.. Not sure what is going on with him, but he looks VERY different these last few weeks.. We could all speculate on the reason, but the reality is he better turn it around, and quick, if he wants the job.. I don’t care how many fans he has, this is an Elway town (always will be), and I for one am Ok with what John thinks is best for our future, with or w/o Tebow.. For the record, I’m not jumping off any bandwagon, or anything crazy, but I’m willing to take Elway’s judgement and not let any of my feelings cloud the judgement of the best QB to play the game..
Hey kod you think this stuff is being heard or are we gonna be labeled uneducated tebow haters?! I mean I’ve never seen such a blind following, and I don’t mean the guys on the blog today, y’all are just debating normally and I respect that totally, I mean the rabid he-can-do-no-wrong-EVER crowd. It’s kinda weird really.
All right, one more order of business today.

We’re facing a tough..tough defense. Teams know that stopping the run is the key to stopping the Broncos.
I will give credit to our defense after all the 3 and outs they did a decent job of keeping the game close.
Who predicted 8-8 anyone?

Nice work everyone. I’m ashamed with my 6-10 prediction.
Bay did u get my season prediction? I never saw my name in the elimination posts. I think I put 7-9 but if you didn’t record it I think it was 8-8!
Sorry, missed one champ, oldsoustander also predicted 8-8.
Like he needed that since he is already going to win the grand daddy of all our competitions, the overall 2011 score prediction contest.
2011 was obviously the year of the oldsouthstander…
Ah hell I spoke too soon. I WIN!! WOO-HOO!!
LOL.
Btw, for the record, anyone see what Matt Flynn did?!
31/44 for 480 yards and 6 TD’s… Kinda looks like the best QB to ever play the game.. Again, not taking Anything away from Rodgers, but the GB offense has ZERO weaknesses, and is loaded from top to bottom… Can’t wait for Flynn to end up like Kolb or Cassel – a back who was never not that great but got a chance to play in a high powered offense..
*back up
