Broncos Nominated for Weekly Awards

November 22nd, 2011 - 10:37am by Stuart Zaas

The Broncos are up for a pair of weekly awards following the team’s 17-13 win over the Jets in Week 11.

Linebacker Von Miller is nominated for the Pepsi NFL Rookie of the Week Award after posting a team-high 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks, three tackles for a loss, one forced fumble and four quarterback hits against the Jets. Miller leads all NFL rookies and ranks fifth among all players with 9.5 sacks this season.

Fans can vote for Miller until 10 a.m. MST on Friday. The winner will be announced on NFL Total Access on NFL Network and on NFL.com on Friday.

In addition, the Broncos game-winning 95-yard dive in the final minutes against the Jets has been nominated for the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Week Award.

The award is given for the best moment or play of the week that represents determination and perseverance.

The Broncos won the award in Week 7 for their come-from-behind victory over Miami as well as in Week 11 for their late touchdown to seal the win at Kansas City.

Each week’s winner will be stacked up against the 16 other Never Say Never weekly winners at the end of the season to determine the GMC Never Say Never Moment of the Year. At the conclusion of the regular season, fans can log onto NFL.com/gmc to vote throughout January for their favorite Moment of the Year among the 17 candidates.

  3. BeastFromEast92 says:

    LMAO

  4. gabeharter says:

dang! i didnt see 1972 til after i posted… should have refreshed my page.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

Let me see, Hanie is a guy with like 5 games experience or something, Orton has over 7 years and played for the Bears for 4 and had a 21-12 record there, other than that I got nothing daddy, LOL.

  6. imready says:

Good move waiving Orton, now move Adam Weber onto the active roster so nobody grabs him off the practice squad. Now that Orton’s gone who you hater’s going to focus on next?

  7. gabeharter says:

did Da coach db’s in NO?

  8. baylinorcrush says:

1972, never a bad time for a score prediction, other than outside of deadlines of course.

  9. gabeharter says:

bay what is the rules on the prediction game?

  10. daddybronc says:

So they’re thinking Orton can keep them in it with Cutler down – if they go…I’ve never seen Hanie play but I have seen Orton. I think Orton has spiraled down big time since those 21 wins.

  11. socalbigbroncofan says:

The thing about orton going to chicago he doesn’t know mart system. Too complex for a few weeks

  12. alexanserg says:

    Prediction:

    26-20 broncos

Chargers will help us out with some crucial mistakes in all three phases.

  13. baylinorcrush says:

Since you seem like a nice guy, let me interrupt this discussion just for you:

    Weekly score prediction contest rules:

    1. You must post your score prediction for every Bronco game starting the day AFTER the previous game and ending the day BEFORE the game is played. Anything posted outside of that time frame will not be entered, no exceptions.

    2. Each week, congratulations and points will be awarded to the top five closest to the correct score and the worse predictions will have the dubious non honor of being placed on our Wall Of Shame and will be made to feel the disgrace, LOL.

    3. The points awarded will be as follows:

    1st place 7 points
    2nd 4 points
    3rd 3 points
    4th 2 points
    5th 1 point
Entry onto Wall of Shame minus 5 points

    4. Example of how points and places are awarded:

    Last year Broncos Jets 20-24

Two way tie for 1st place:
WieminCA 17-27 prediction, 6 total points off actual score = 7 points
Baylinorcrush 20-30, also 6 total points off = 7 points also

3rd place (no 2nd place since there was a two way tie for 1st):
    CarnageBronc 10-24, 10 total points off = 3 points

    4th place:
    MANDIEGO 17-34, 13 total points off = 2 points

    5th place:
    oldsouthstander 20-38, 14 total points off = 1 point

    Wall of Shame:
ddk002, picking us to win 31-14, total disrespect for Rex, haha = minus 5 points.

    5. You cannot place top five no matter how close you are points wise if you pick the wrong team to win.

    6. WOS entry is awarded to whoever chooses the wrong team to win and by the largest point spread.

    7. At year end all points will be tabulated and we will get our new scoring guessing Champion of the year, the King of the Kingdom, i.e. the Ruler of Bronco Country, and we will also extend congratulations to bloggers finishing in the top 12 places, and brace yourselves Wall of Shame people, you will be made major fun of, you can count on that too, haha.

    8. Remember, it’s all for fun and pride, no prizes, no affiliation with the organization, just a figment of my imagination, feel free to enter one week or all 16 and have some major fun doing so, many bloggers do, watch out for that Wall of Shame though, it can be a beatch, and by entering you agree to release me from any abuse I might throw your way, LOL.

  14. baylinorcrush says:

I’d like to see Hanie myself, a Colorado State star.

  15. BeastFromEast92 says:

Gabe DA did coach DBs in NO.

  16. baylinorcrush says:

Pretty good QB, very mobile can escape pressure much better than Cutler.

  17. strandoftds says:

Hanie has 1 game experience is all.

  18. baylinorcrush says:

And he played very well in it, saw that game.

  19. Bronco_Turtle says:

Hanie played real good last year in the NFC Championship after Cutler left at half time… they were in it till he threw a pick late…

I just want Orton someplace that VON DOOM gets a crack at him for four quarters…

  20. alexanserg says:

BTW, any bets on how long glax/orang will appear in his next iteration?

  21. BeastFromEast92 says:

Anybody think Miami might want Orton now?
even tho they are 3-0 since going 0-7.

  22. MOSO says:

I am stuck in HELL…. (NEW YORK) I was beyond HAPPY when the Broncos came from behind to WIN!!! I love Tebow… I love the Broncos!!!!! Can’t wait to go home… Now I need a Jersey to rub it in to these New Yorkers….. WHOO HOO!!!!

  23. BeastFromEast92 says:

alex I was thinking the same thing!

  24. baylinorcrush says:

He won’t he’s been banned for good, all his comments have been erased, here you go slow again, LOL.

  25. alexanserg says:

    until*

  26. raidrhadr says:

    Broncos 23
    Chargers 17

  27. baylinorcrush says:

Miami is now happy with Moore.

  28. alexanserg says:

I assume they got his IP too. But if he is savvy shouldn’t be too hard to use a new IP and such to post under a new name.

  29. BeastFromEast92 says:

    I think so to bay!

  30. strandoftds says:

Don`t be surprized if Caleb Hanie has another good game against the raiders. He`s an exceptional QB I think. I like him.

  31. Orange_Crusher says:

This is soo funny… I borrowed it from a blogger at the DP……

A new craze has hit Chicago: Ortoning. People are being spotted all over the city curling up in the fetal position and pretending its the fourth quarter…

  32. BeastFromEast92 says:

    LMFAO@OC!!!!!!!!!!!!

  33. alexanserg says:

    rofl

  34. Bronco_Turtle says:

Strand… don’t be surprised if Hanie is flinching by the second half if he plays agains the Bronco D… VON is a BEAST!!! and Hanie would be meat… actaully, whoever starts that game for the bears will need a real ice bath!!!

    VON TEBOW!!!

  35. baylinorcrush says:

They are onto him now though, with two handles, and as soon as he reappears he will be shut down immediately so he is like water under the bridge no matter how you slice it, sayonara just like Orton.

  36. baylinorcrush says:

    The armadillo position, LMAO!

  37. Bronco_Turtle says:

I think they renamed that move the Sanchez…

  38. strandoftds says:

If he gets all the way to when chicago can claim Orton, don`t be surprized if they bears don`t claim him. The bears do want him but will wait until the waiver wire is completed, then they`ll sign him as a free agent. The Bears are at the bottom of the waiver chain, why pick him up on waiver wire. Just a thought. By the way, these are words of Dave Kreiger on 850 KOA. LOL

  39. BeastFromEast92 says:

    LMFAO@Bay!!!!!!!!!!

  40. baylinorcrush says:

BTW, where is armadillo when you need him, the anti Orton #1, with OC too but more forceful, LOL.

  41. BeastFromEast92 says:

    He’s out killing armadillos!!!

  42. strandoftds says:

Whats that crossing the road?! LMAO!!

  43. baylinorcrush says:

I got one that’s been burrowing in my lawn, he is welcome to come over here.

  44. Orange_Crusher says:

Ha! Maybe orangut IS Orton? He knew He was out of here so he came on the blog to blow off steam…..lol

Hey, didn’t Glaxnax show up last year when Orton got benched…hummm? LOL

  45. BeastFromEast92 says:

    It’s Armadillo chasing an armadillo,LMAO!

  46. alexanserg says:

    lol OC

  47. alexanserg says:

Why did Armadillo cross the road?

  48. BeastFromEast92 says:

OC….man your on a roll today bro!

  49. alexanserg says:

    I don’t have a punchline :(

  50. strandoftds says:

Orton is just like a armadillo, always on his back.
