With 200 million fans tuning in during the 2012 season, the NFL enjoyed one of its most-watched seasons in history, highlighted by viewership records for the NFL Network as well as NFL Digital Properties.
According to The Nielsen Company, this past regular season was viewed in 80 percent of all television homes and by 69 percent of the nation’s potential viewers.
Among all fall programming, NFL games accounted for 31 of the 32 most-watched TV shows and for the first time, an NFL game marked the most-watched TV show of the week during each week of the season.
Of those 31 games, the Broncos played in five of them, trailing only the Cowboys, Giants and Packers in number of games among the 31 most-watched this year.
A pair of NFL games occupied the top two spots in viewership in 15 out of 17 weeks.
On CBS, FOX and NBC, NFL games averaged 19.3 million viewers, which was 154 percent higher than the average primetime viewership among the four major over-the-air networks. That figure shows the league’s tremendous increase in popularity, as the average NFL game 10 years ago was just 52 percent higher than the average primetime viewership of the four major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX.)
In local markets, NFL games were the highest-rated shows 93 percent of the time, which set a record and also marked the third straight season with at least 90 percent. And NFL games were the highest rated show in all 30 markets for the week a record five times this season.
Other highlights included the success of NBC Sunday Night Football, which finished its third consecutive fall as the most-watched primetime program, averaging 21.4 million viewers. NBC Sunday Night Football is joined by late afternoon broadcasts of the NFL on FOX and CBS as the only programs on TV averaging more than 20 million viewers. On cable, ESPN’s Monday Night Football was the most-watched series for a seventh consecutive year with an average of 12.8 million viewers.

Scott Pioli was fired as the Chiefs GM.
Well they “mutually agreed” to part ways. Heckert is expected to follow Reid.
That’s not good AB. AFCW teams are wising up.
Yes they are RH.
Del Rio said he hasn’t been contacted about any of the seven available head coaching jobs in the league. “(Denver’s) a great spot, a great group of guys I’m working with and I’m happy with my job here. I’m having fun doing what I’m doing now.”
That’s good to here. JDR has done an absolutely astonishing and I can’t wait for him to be here another year to further develop the talent here. Is it possible to have an even better defense next year? Look out NFL!
RH were ranked 2nd overall. SO we can still get that #1 spot lol
What I am saying though is that even rank number 1 a team can still improve. As in: more turnovers, less points allowed, less yards allowed. The first defense in history to not allow a single yard of offense in a single season…did I take it too far?!?
Yes RH I understood what you meant. Like FOx and Manning and every other Bronco no matter what their is ways to improve. After their win vs KC Broncos came out and said their were things they could and need to do better.
New blog btw RH/
Takeaways are an area we need to improve on…..
No turnovers for the next three games=Superbowl champs!
I am from Chicago but really like Peyton Manning. I watched all Broncos’ games this year.. Bears are out,Soooooo go Broncos!
Ok home fans, lets show up in a big way next Saturday! Do not sell your tickets to our opponents fans! This is not a wine and cheese party (bring your heavy boots and as many noise makers as you can hold)! BRING THE ROCKY MOUNTAIN THUNDER!!!
