Broncos Depart for Buffalo

December 22nd, 2011 - 1:36pm by Kenny Legan

With up to a foot of snow accumulating in the past 24 hours, the Denver Broncos practiced inside Thursday before departing to Buffalo.

The team used the half-field turf surface behind the weight room. However, the close quarters wasn’t an issue as the team was able to run through its practice.

“It wasn’t bad, similar to the place I have used in the past with another team,” Head Coach John Fox said. “I thought we got our work done, and didn’t risk injury going out in the snow covered field. I think we got done what we get done on an in-season type Friday practice.”

Safeties David Bruton and Brian Dawkins were limited Thursday. Fox said Dawkins’ availability for Saturday’s game isn’t known yet.

“A lot of it is just how he feels, understanding that there are some pretty big collisions that can occur during games and make sure he’s healthy enough to withstand those,” Fox said.

The team departs for Buffalo this afternoon on another two-day trip due to the 1 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday.

For the BILLS:

    31-13 Denver

  2. strandoftds says:

If we win out these last two games and Houston loses next weekend, it`ll be neat to see who we`ll play since we will get the #3 seed. Talk about a change of events.

  3. 1nOnlyTRB says:

We might also get a chance to get Peyton Hillis back. Don’t think the browns will bring him back and with the spot they will most likely draft at, I see them taking Trent Richardson.

    TRB

  4. strandoftds says:

I`d like to have Hillis at RB again.

  5. OrangeTsunami says:

To me, the answer is easy: resign Brady Quinn.. He’s a former 1st rounder, and I’d rather have him come in if Tenow gets hurts, vs. a rookie who doesn’t know the offense or have any experience.. Also, the notion that we can’t change the offense to a more traditional type O midseason is hogwash!!!

  6. strandoftds says:

Nah, you`d want a QB in the likeness of Tim Tebow, A QB who can run the Tebow System.

  7. BroncoRoyaltyEst.1979 says:

Yeah TRB I saw that as well the D was using the wrong audibles and were changing up the D at the last second pulling DB’s back at the wrong time (during running plays) and putting DB’s in the box at the wrong time (passing plays). It was total chaos out there.

This week they should be able to get it together.

  8. royalbroncofan1 says:

The Browns also drafted FB Owen Marecic last season.

  9. S.D.Bronco30 says:

Love reading that McGahee makes regular trips to the chiropractor, that a boy!

  10. royalbroncofan1 says:

    Correction – this past draft…lol.

  11. strandoftds says:

If Tebow gets injured and you use a standard QB from under cener the whole offense is at a loss starting with the O-Line. We`d be shooting ourselves in the foot.

  12. OrangeTsunami says:

I disagree wholeheartedly.. No changing my mind on that one.. This is the NFL.. you think we threw out the other play book? Or our guys all of sudden forgot to play the other way? Plus, we’re moving closer and closer toward a more traditional type O with Tebow anyway.. The option is only used sparingly..

  13. alexanserg says:

    25 hours. oh man i can’t wait

  14. strandoftds says:

Yeah Royal, he came out of Stanford. I wanted us to draft him last year, oh well.

  15. OrangeTsunami says:

With the exception of Franklin, these are the same O-Line as under McD’s pass happy O….

  16. alexanserg says:

If we can Clinch the division tomorrow, I will be SOO happy!!

  17. strandoftds says:

We`ll see, time will tell. Tim does need to work more under Center to keep teams honost.

  18. strandoftds says:

I`d still want us to draft Kellen Moore.

  19. alexanserg says:

I hope McG is close to 100 percent. I know he would love nothing more than to have a huge game against the bills.

  20. 1nOnlyTRB says:

I think Brady Quinn coming back would be great. He is pretty athletic. Not the big running type like Tebow and I wouldnt expect him to run the option but we have a base offense as well. I like how he is with Tebow … always in his ear and he is a vet. Plus he already has comraderie with the team. He however believes he can still be a starter in this league so he will pursue his future and opportunity. Best of luck to him.

    TRB

  21. OrangeTsunami says:

Agreed, Strand.. But let’s say he can’t, why would you want another option style QB? If Tebow can’t become multi dimensional, we scrap the whole option thing and go back to more traditional type QB

  22. royalbroncofan1 says:

Strand – I was thinking the same thing last night re: Texans. Texans are 4-1 in their division, with last game coming up vs. Titans. Another division rival. Broncos are 3-2 in division with last game vs. Chiefs.

  23. alexanserg says:

Yeah I like BQ, and he would be cheap.

  24. royalbroncofan1 says:

If Browns have Marecic, Hillis could be expendable…just sayin.

  25. OrangeTsunami says:

KMoore is nice, but he’s 176 lbs… Tebow is successful b/c of his size and intangibles, which is why we’re giving him a shot. It’s the kid, not the style that we’re committing too IMO

  26. strandoftds says:

We could play the Bengals again, theres a chance. Wow!

  27. royalbroncofan1 says:

One game at a time though… got to take care of business with the Bills.

  28. 1nOnlyTRB says:

RBF1, they long speculated Hillis may not coem back. Which is fine. Never shoulda left us. But I seriously think they will draft Trent Richardson. Walter Football thinks the chiefs will because Jamaal Charles is not Durable enough. I dunno about u but Id rather the Browns had Trent Richardson thant the chiefs have Trent and Jamaal Charles in our division.

    TRB

  29. strandoftds says:

    Kellen Moore 6’0″” 190 lbs.

  30. strandoftds says:

Oh, I know. I`m just excited thinking about it is all. The Bronco kid coming out of me. LOL

  31. 1nOnlyTRB says:

To tell you the truth … not getting ahead of ourselves but I think we can beat any team in the playoffs. Texans without Shaub and Andre Johnson. Ravens only offense is Ray Rice, Bengals are good but we beat them once and with orton before this team started clicking, I STILL believe we coulda beat the patriots, and The steelers are the only question mark but if they play a hobbled Big Ben … I think we can take em. As long as we do our run thing and our no turnover football lol. TRB

  32. strandoftds says:

If the Browns don`t draft Richardson, their stupid.

  33. strandoftds says:

    Is it saturday yet?

  34. OrangeTsunami says:

6’0″, 190.. My bad.. Did a quick search and looked at a 2007 stat.. Still too light to replace Tebow IMO. Tebow is one of a kind, and I don’t see us continuing the option if he can’t cut it.. Just my opinion

  35. OrangeTsunami says:

I like the Hillis idea, but he’s looking for a big pay day and his hamstrings scare me a bit..

  36. strandoftds says:

Ya, his hammy is a major problem.

  37. OrangeTsunami says:

Best case scenario: we clinch the afc west, and the raiders, chiefs and chargers win enough games to move them back in the draft!! LOL!!!

  38. strandoftds says:

OT, it`s not about replacing bro. Only filling in if Timmy gets injured. Moore can be the next Doug Flutie but a southpaw. LOL! IMO

  39. strandoftds says:

I hope the Jets get their butts kicked by the Giants. I can`t stand the HC whatsoever. Whenever they lose it`s a good thing in my book.

  40. OrangeTsunami says:

I hear you man, but I would rather have Quinn, who is WAY more familiar with this offense, WR’s, etc, over an unproven rookie just b/c he ran the option…

I can see Quinn resigning for a few reasons. 1) I think he likes the Denver area.. 2) He wants to be a starter in the NFL, and this might be his best chance, with Tebow’s style of play

  41. royalbroncofan1 says:

I know that TRB but thanks for the reminder re: Hillis..lol. It’s very apparent PH is not happy in Cleveland.

Never should’ve left us is right no thanks to the former HC.
You should’ve heard the rumors around town why McD got rid of Hillis….crazy.

  42. OrangeTsunami says:

Hate the Jets too bro.. I really hope they miss the playoffs!!! LOL!!

  43. royalbroncofan1 says:

Yeah TRB – Richardson to KC does not sound good.

  44. daddybronc says:

Kellen Moore put a nice hurt on Arizona last night.

I think the issue is that they are already being very successful at turning Tebow into a conventional QB. I hate it! They need to let Tebow start calling his own plays or something. I agree it’s way soon – but they have got to run a higher percentage of option and intentional ‘broken play’ football. The Tebow -turn the sack into a TD – run, for example!

  45. strandoftds says:

Ya, the storys about hillis being traded was tha he was being inssbordinate against McD. Ya whatever. That was the #1 speculation anyway.

  46. strandoftds says:

I was never a Prettyboy Floyd fan, that being Quinn, no thanks, he stinks to high heaven. Blah!!!

  47. OrangeTsunami says:

Strand – I’m not a big Quinn fan either, all I’m saying is that I’d rather have him than waste a draft pick on a rookie QB, leaving a rookie, Weber and Tebow on the roster… That way, we’ll have to go then out a sign a veteran FA that doesn’t know the system or have chemistry with the WR’s… Seems like a lot of work, when you can just resign Quinn, and use that draft pick on D..

  48. OrangeTsunami says:

Our secondary better step it up this week, b/c the Bills have a few good WR’s and a team with nothing to play for can often be dangerous at the end of the season… Let’s put it away early boys, and use this a practice for the tournament!!!!

  49. strandoftds says:

    I hope Dawk plays.

  50. 1nOnlyTRB says:

I gaurantee a Rahim Moore INT this saturday if he plays lol

I also heard the peyton hillis hit on McDs wife or something. Pure fabrication ofcourse but twas hilarious none the less lol
