With up to a foot of snow accumulating in the past 24 hours, the Denver Broncos practiced inside Thursday before departing to Buffalo.
The team used the half-field turf surface behind the weight room. However, the close quarters wasn’t an issue as the team was able to run through its practice.
“It wasn’t bad, similar to the place I have used in the past with another team,” Head Coach John Fox said. “I thought we got our work done, and didn’t risk injury going out in the snow covered field. I think we got done what we get done on an in-season type Friday practice.”
Safeties David Bruton and Brian Dawkins were limited Thursday. Fox said Dawkins’ availability for Saturday’s game isn’t known yet.
“A lot of it is just how he feels, understanding that there are some pretty big collisions that can occur during games and make sure he’s healthy enough to withstand those,” Fox said.
The team departs for Buffalo this afternoon on another two-day trip due to the 1 p.m. EST kickoff on Saturday.

Not sure if this was mentioned here before, but it looks like McGahee is not the only former Bill making a return:
LB Mario Haggan spent five seasons in Buffalo, never starting and getting pigeon-holed as a special-teamer. But in four years in Denver, he’s been a full-time starter for two years and a major contributor in sub packages the other two. “It’s been a good move,” Haggan said, adding, “Sometimes it takes a little luck and opportunity.”
Good for Haggan and the Broncos. Mario got his shot. The Bills suck!
I wouldn`t believe it, Hillis is a christian too. But you never know nowadays.
Need to start a new blog.
Yeah – TRB that was the big rumor we heard re: Hillis and Mcd at some party or something. Not that he hit on her but she was talking to him, and McD became livid! Again just a rumor.
Hillis is a big time Christian.. I remember during the last draft, he was introduced to speak b/c of the Madden cover, and the first thing he said was:
“I’d like to thank my savior Jesus Christ”.. Something tells me he’d get along with Tebow… LOL
LMAO … he totally would get along with Tebow … between Tebow, Hillis and BDawk … the broncos new nickname might be “The Bible Thumpers” lol
TRB
Also, let’s not forget that Hillis is a glorified FB.. He was McFadden’s FB at Arkansas..
LOL!! Wikipedia still has a pic of him in Bronco Orange & Blue!!!
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peyton_Hillis
I really wouldn`t mind getting Hillis back in Denver.
Anyone catch the highlight on “Inside the NFL” when the Lions beat us badly. After Tony Scheffler scored, he mentions something about McD on the sideline ??
LOL Orange Tsunami. I just watched him in the 2011 draft and he totally said that lmao. Yup, they would get along lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ROkduyotVbY
No one gives him flack tho … or Bdawk … people just like to pile on TT. Probably because of all the coverage he gets.
TRB
#22 is still available Peyton!!! LOL
rbf1 he did? really? man I gotta see that.
Yes, at Arkansas it was McFadden, Jones, and Hillis at RB. Three decent players on that team at the same position.
Yeah TRB – I was at the game but did catch the highlights that week. Scheffler says something to the effect of “That was for you McDaniels” or “Thank you Mr. McDaniels”.. can’t remember exactly what he said.
I think Hillis was a FB in college, not RB..
You could tell Sheff was pumped when he scored against us, don’t think he wanted to leave… Oh well..
Shanny drafted Hillis and Larson in the same draft.. I’d like to see more Larson personally
Ya, Hillis was FB, just mentioning the players is all. I wanted to draft Hillis in the that draft in about the 3rd or 4th round. When we picked him in the 7th I thought what he wasn`t draft yet. Man was I happy.
Yeah, the Hillis trade was the one that I have the biggest issue with, although he didn’t have a good year this year.. Maybe that’s why i want to salvage some kind of value out of Quinn.. LOL
Letting Quinn walk, together with Orton, without any return doesn’t sit well with me…
Out of all the players we lost during the McD junk, the one player that hurts the most is losing Hillis.
His contract is done, it`s irrelevent to me.
Me too… By far.. We got a huge return on both Cutler and Marshall, eventhough we may not have used the picks all that well, but you can’t argue with what we got for those two guys..
Its not over for those draft picks yet, far to soon.
That would be sweet to bring back Hillis, especially considering he wouldn’t have to be an everydown back…
True, but I think we used one of the Cutler first rounders to move up to “snag” ASmith…. LOL
We need another strong RB to spell McGahee. I say trade Moreno to the Rams for a 3rd round pick. Thats all he`s worth.
Ya, very stupid. Hindsight being 20/20.
Let’s face it, both Moreno and Ayers have been disappointments.. Ayers has been better, but no where near where a 1st rounder should be.. I’m willing to give knowshon another chance, but I’m not sure he’ll get it..
That said, I’m very excited with Tebow & DThomas.. both took a while to come around, but i think we may have something in both guys…
Just in case I don’t get another chance to say so:
Have a very Merry Christmas – Jesus is the reason for the season!!!
Remember, that this is Tebow and DThomas’ second year after not really doing much in their first season.. That is why we can’t throw the towel in on our two young safeties of TE’s yet
*or
I really never understood the waste displayed with Tebow last year. Your 1st round draft pick doing “mental reps” at practice. I didn’t have a clue last year what those are, or were, and I still don’t.
Weatherman – whatever mental reps are…they made a great QB out of Tebow! LOL
I don’t think these football pros know much more than the fans, from what I can tell. Their only advantage is they know the verbal code for the play.
tHE bLOGkILLER STRIKES AGAIN!
OK – what did I do? What did I say? LOL
speaking of a cb maybe the boys upstairs could work somthing out with the eagles and go for samuels him and champ would be great
So – I know a lot of you like to talk draft stuff but I can’t really get into it much. I’m just totally not there yet.
I can’t wait for the game tomorrow – and I’m glad they decided not to play the games on Christmas. Thinking back – can any of you recall if this is what they have always done when Christmas lands on Sunday?
So…my oldest daughter/child announced her engagement yesterday to an army medic stationed in Japan. (Zuma) He will be stationed there till Oct. 2014 and then he wants to use his GI bill to attend seminary and go back in as an Army Chaplain.
So some punk walks into my daughters life and after a short year – he thinks he can take away my #1 child and transport her all over the globe such that I never see her or any grandchildren.
I am contemplating becoming a rebellious parent!!!
I’ve been watching the quick run of the Boise Bronco game last night. That is a solid team! I like Kellen Moore in spite of his size. I’d like to draft him if he is still on the board. That 6’8″ QB from Arizona is interesting as well.

A season of firsts will continue for Tim Tebow on Saturday when he’s likely to play in the coldest weather of his career.
These things can happen when a late-December road game in Buffalo is on your schedule. The temperature at kickoff is supposed to be in the high-30s, practically balmy for western New York but still a lower reading than the Broncos quarterback has played at on any level.
“I’ve never worn sleeves, but I’ve been wearing sleeves in practice this week to try to get used to that,” Tebow said Thursday, according to The Denver Post. “I won’t wear a glove, maybe on my right hand, but not on my (left) hand. I don’t plan to, anyway.”
Tebow’s coldest game was 42 degrees at kickoff for last year’s season finale against the Chargers in Denver.
“He’s practiced out here for almost two years now, so I think he’s had his share of inclement weather,” Broncos coach John Fox said. “I don’t foresee that being a problem.”
Tebow seems to operate best when there are obstacles in front of him. Considering the odds he’s overcome in multiple instances this season, it’s highly unlikely he’ll be felled by a chill in the air at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
Tim will be fine tomorrow. He`ll weather the storm. LOL
I’m rooting for Titans on New Years Eve.

Daddy, I`ll be praying for you my brother, hang in there.
Snow and blizzard conditions could be interesting. But a balmy above freezing temp? Not even a discussion!
Strand – I wrote that tongue in cheek. I still forget too many of my LOL’s. LOL.
I’m very pleased and proud of my daughter and my soon to be son-in-law.
I have another daughter who is likely to be married next summer. That makes this the last Christmas we will all be together. 2012 sounds expensive already! LOL
I hear you but it still bothers ya when your children grow up get married and leave the house, all apart of life. There`s a piece thats missing for awhile.
It`s 35 degrees hear today in Colorado. The sun is shining bright and snow on the ground. But 30 degrees in Colorado and 30 degrees in Bufallo are two different worlds. With 30 here without the windchill and the sun being out is nice actually, but not in New York. Ugh!
If the Titans win against Houston next weekend and we win both games, I`m curious to know who we`ll play in the wildcard game in Milehigh. Fun to think on!
