Broncos Continue to Earn Midseason Recognition

November 7th, 2012 - 10:24am by Sam Davis

On Tuesday, DenverBroncos.com posted a list of the many accolades the team has received at the halfway point of the season and in weeks prior.

On Wednesday, ESPN.com’s Bill Williamson gave Denver some more recognition as he included a total of 11 Broncos on his All AFC West Midseason Team. The 11 Broncos — five on offense, five on defense and one on special teams — were the most players that Williamson selected from any team in the division.

The list of players include defensive end Elvis Dumervil, defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson, linebackers Von Miller and Wesley Woodyard, cornerback Champ Bailey, tackle Ryan Clady, quarterback Peyton Manning, running back Willis McGahee, receivers Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas and return man Trindon Holliday.

Holliday was also named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week on Wednesday for his performance at Cincinnati.

    Williamson is a hack.

  2. dwalls2 says:

I don’t know this Williamson fellow, but what makes him more of a “hack” than the rest of the “run your moth for money crowd”?

  3. RH709 says:

He gets paid to provide “insight” and write articles. He is similar to Clayton, who knows very little about football but gets paid as an anylist. I guess I just expect more Xs and Os type inside from an “anylist”.

  4. baylinorcrush says:

Bill used to be a Denver Post writer, so he is not exactly unbiased, pretty much sees the Broncos in pink most of the time, just so happens he is finally pretty much right now for a change, LMAO.

  5. baylinorcrush says:

He is more of an anal analyst than an anylist worth nil, LOL.

  6. strandoftds82 says:

I just want us to win another SB!! I know the Broncos want the same, just us we do. Thats what counts!

  7. strandoftds82 says:

    *just as we do*

  8. baylinorcrush says:

I bet you are waiting on your points you dog, you and the other dog, haha, or could he be from Danemark?

  9. RH709 says:

I want another SB too. I put $100 on Denver to win the SB before preseason started. The odds were 16:1.
    Go Broncos :)

  10. DaddyBronc says:

Not certain what you folks have against Williamson. Was he a Tebow fan? LOL

  11. baylinorcrush says:

All teams are ultimately judged by their SB wins.

Here is the list from best to worse:

    Pittsburgh Steelers 6-2
    San Francisco 49ers 5-0
    Dallas Cowboys 5-3
    Green Bay Packers 4-1
    New York Giants 4-1
    Oakland/LA Raiders 3-2
    Washington Redskins 3-2
    New England Patriots 3-4
    Baltimore/Ind. Colts 2-2
    Miami Dolphins 2-3
    Denver Broncos 2-4
    Baltimore Ravens 1-0
    New York Jets 1-0
    Tampa Bay Buccaneers 1-0
    New Orleans Saints 1-0
    Chicago Bears 1-1
    Kansas City Chiefs 1-1
    St. Louis/LA Rams 1-2

    Minnesota Vikings 0-4
    Philadelphia Eagles 0-2
    Cincinnati Bengals 0-2
    Tennessee Titans 0-1
    Seattle Seahawks 0-1
    San Diego Chargers 0-1
    Carolina Panthers 0-1
    Atlanta Falcons 0-1
    Arizona Cardinals 0-1

So one more and we break in the top ten tying the Pats.

  12. baylinorcrush says:

It’s missing the Buffalo Bills at 0-4

  13. baylinorcrush says:

And of course, never went never won are the ones not listed, LOL.

  14. baylinorcrush says:

Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans.

  15. RH709 says:

@DB, He gets paid for his insight which he provides next-to-none. Same goes for John Clayton.
I am looking for real football analysis.

Take a look at this genius piece of footfall “insight”
    http://espn.go.com/blog/afcwest/post/_/id/50799/by-the-numbers-best-in-west-15

What are these “little things” that DMT is doing right? I’m not sure Williamson even knows, he just heard it from a guy somewhere and tossed it in a some sweet little nugget of knowledge for you.

I’ll tell you a few “little things” DMT is doing.
Thomas is top ten in percentage of passes dropped. I am not trying to hate on him cause he is a hell of a player and I like him on the Denver team. However, if you are going to claim Thomas is doing “the little things right” then you haven’t done your job Bill. Now, if you wanted to explain how Thomas has drastically improved his route running and explain a few examples, such as the post-corner-post route he used to beat a S.D. CB for a TD, then you have an actual analysis.

The point is, the dude gets paid and this is all he can come up with?

  16. RH709 says:

Sorry to go all hateful. I really am excited about the Broncos right now. I am very unexcited by the claims of a certain “world wide sports leader”. They do a terrible job of providing fans with any real information. If you want some stats, then they got those and I do appriciate that. However, many stat lines are somewhat limited with out context.

  17. DaddyBronc says:

Haha – you are harsh Mr. 709!!! LOL ….but Williamson still writes well and he exists for the ‘feel good’ folks. As with politics…most fans just want to feel good and get as much as they can for nothin’. Facts and details are too much work.

  18. strandoftds82 says:

    Sure am Bay. LOL
