As many of you know, we’ve designed the Official Broncos Blog Scoring Contest for the 2012 season.
I regret not mentioning a key contributor last week in the development of the contest — baylinorcrush. He got the contest up and running in the first place, and was the reason it has lasted so long and become so popular.
We wanted to help make it easier to keep track of this season. So thanks to baylinorcrush as well as killerkod for helping throughout the process.
Without further ado, let’s get to the results from Week 1.
After Week 1, there were five predictions that were virtually right on the money. To recap, the Broncos beat the Steelers 31-19.
Caramelloo, Jake, Jamie A007, Orange Crush and Keith Kahler all submitted predictions of 31-20, so all receive first-place points.
In second were four more predictions — this time 31-17 (two points off) — by MileHighDoom, TicoBroncoFan, TCM and Barnstormer.
In third place was a prediction of 31-16 by Bud Buecher. He guessed the Broncos’ score correctly and was only off by three for Pittsburgh.
So, after one week of the scoring contest, here is the leaderboard:

The contest has been open for Week 2 since Tuesday at noon, so make sure you get your prediction in.
Here are the only rules: your submission for the upcoming game will only be accepted starting Tuesday at noon leading up to the game. The cutoff time, obviously, is kickoff. In other words, we won’t accept any submissions after kickoff of each game, and don’t start predicting for the following game until Tuesday at noon. One prediction per blogger, please.
The top three bloggers closest to the score each week (by total points off from the actual score) get points. First place = 7 points, second place = 5 points, third place = 3 points. Blogger must pick the winning team to get points.

First for recognizing my blog contribution over the years and more importantly second for keeping this contest in the proper original format I designed which makes so much more sense and is more fun than using the over under line formula used in Vegas and now in the Turtle version of the contest.
Very happy to see mellow winning it as I thought he should of won the bloggers’ one too.
All seems good in the end.

On 850 KOA, it was mentioned that our S Rahim Moore got fined 21 million for the head to head hit on a defenseless player.
We need to start Q at the Safety position to replace Moore. IMO
It looks as if the Wall of Shame has been aced out of the picture. LOL
Hey Bay……just so know, incase you missed an earlier post, I never intended to make it seem that I was taking credit for the contest…….I know this is your baby and I just brought to the organization as a great idea to make it an official contest. It wouldn’t exist without you creating it and I’m so stoked it’s being continued in the right format……….
When I clicked on “submit” it said I’d already entered – I don’t remember entering this week … what I did was, input a score, then changed it before I hit “submit” … what I wanted was Denver 30 – Atlanta 26 … I originally had Denver 27 – Atlanta 24 … so – if I can still get it, I want the D 30 – A 26 score … this one is really hard to predict … go Broncos!!!!!!!!!!

The Orange Crush keeps treating me very well, went out about 15 times this Summer and spent about half a dozen nights on her. But it’s very hot here in the Summer unless you’re in the water (you water lounge more than you boat), so I spend much more time on her in the Winter, they are so mild here it’s perfect. Long live the Orange Crush, the D and the boat, LOL!

Talking about the Orange Crush, a while back I sent a couple pictures of her to Gray, maybe he still has them and can share them with you guys. Coop also got them but unfortunately he seems to no longer be here.
