Broncos Blog Scoring Contest: Week 13

November 27th, 2012 - 4:02pm by Gray Caldwell

For the fifth straight week, everyone with a scoring prediction has picked the Broncos to win. It seems to be a good strategy.

Just to recap, the Broncos defeated the Chiefs 17-9. No one was particularly close this week, but Jake came in first with his prediction of 25-10 — nine points off the actual score.

Oldsouthstander takes home second place, 10 points off with his guess of 27-9. Still1972 gets third-place points with his 28-7 prediction — 13 points off the actual score.

Before we get to the standings, make sure you get your predictions in for this Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay here.

Seems good but with Wolfe, Doom, Ayers and Von I don’t see a need. Let someone else who needs some pass rush production get him. Hey Tampa Bay, I’m looking at you (just not this week lol).

For your convenience!! All the Score Prediction Results in one Place!!!

The Broncos Got a tough earned Ugly win at Arrowhead Stadium and that is something that should not be overlooked!!

    Final Score 17-9 (26) Broncos

Only one blogger had the stones to buck the trend and predict less than Thirty points for a total and that was this week’s winner and Gameday Birthday Boy Sir Strandoftd82! His Score prediction of 27-0 might have been one sided but 1 point off the total is 1 point off the total! Congratulations and Plus 10 Contest points!

Second Place this week with a score prediction of 28-7 (35)and missing the total by 9 points was Still1972!!! You get 7 contest points and a virtual high-five!!! Nice Work!

Third Place this week for 5 points goes to OSS. You seem to be coming back into form so keep up the good work and crawling up the leader board. OSS score prediction was 27-9 (36) and was 10 points off the Game Final! Well done!

Fourth Place with 3 points is Contest leader THE DANE… his score prediction of 31-7 (38) was 12 points off the game total! As usual, well played DANE!!!

Fifth Place for 1 point this week was contest regular tnalen66! With a score prediction of 27-13 (40) he was off by 14 points but that was good enough to crack the leader board this week! Excellent!

Again, no one bet against our beloved Broncos and rightfully so! So no Wall of Shame!!!

This team is looking incredible right now and a special Broncos Country Atta-Boy goes out to our boy Knowshon Moreno!!! Thanks for picking up the slack!!!

    B-R-O-N-C-O-S BRONCOS BRONCOS BRONCOS!!!

you can never have too many pass rushers. we should wait to see if Babin makes it through the waiver wire and then give him a 1 or 2-year deal. Ayers is good but lets face it, he hasnt lived up to his 1st round potential

  6. Bronconasty says:

people are talking about how they dont want to see the pats in the playoffs. honestly idc if we have to play Houston or the Patriots because we almost beat both of them if we had gotten another posession

  7. strandoftds82 says:

And we have getting stronger in all 3 phases of the ball as the season progresses. Granted last game was a struggle, but every team has games like that. It’s the NFL!

  8. alaskanbronco06 says:

    Thanks for all the congrats.

    Happy belated birthday Strand!

About Babin I wouldnt mind him. However I dont see the need except for having him around for emergencies in case someone goes down.

  9. strandoftds82 says:

Once again, happy for you and your Fiance! Time to celebrate!!

  10. strandoftds82 says:

Can we afford him if we got him off the waiver wire?

  11. tlcat06 says:

Cat! You gotta help me understand where you are coming from with this one… New England may have only beaten 2 teams with winning records, but they beat us head to head, and how many games have we won against teams that are over .500?

You can only play who’s on your schedule, and we have pushed our stats up to the top 5 in both Offense and Defense playing against sub-par opponents… We all saw what happened when we went against above average teams, I will grant that that was early in the season but NE won’t be any less affect running the ball against us than they were last season or at the beginning of this season…

You can use stats when you like, but stats go both ways and until we take our game to Houston then NE after beating the steelers/colts/bengals in the first round, we can only assume that the past performance is somewhat indicative of future results and that has both HOU and NE with a decisive advantage over us… I’m not saying we can’t win these games, but I’m saying with some certainty that the two teams that beat us straight up and are ahead of us in the standings are better teams then and now… We will get to see how we stack up with BAL soon enough

The Broncos simply have to win to change my perception of their place in the NFL/AFC Hierarchy at this time…

    In Peyton we Trust!!!”

I always said I wasn’t worried about this Bronco team and I wasn’t the one running around saying we had to beat teams with winning records. However, we have ONLY lost to teams that have a combined win/loss record of 28-5. The Patriots have lost to teams that have a combined 19-14. They have beaten us and the Colts. They did not play us when we were a top ten defense and the Colts are ranked 20th in total defense, just so you know, I’m just basically saying that I’m not scared of the Patriots and if that makes me ridiculous, that’s fine. Their schedule has been ridiculously easy and they did not have as tough as a schedule as we did those first six weeks. Until I see them beat a GOOD defense (yes I’m admitting we weren’t a put together defense yet) I’m not convinced they’re scary. These teams beat us straight up by a total of 16 points. Sorry I’m not shaking in my boots like everyone else. Sorry. I do not think that either team is better than the Broncos.

  12. strandoftds82 says:

And I agree, a team can never have enough Pass Rushers. And Babin is a proven Pass rusher I think. Bring him in on passing downs.

  13. alaskanbronco06 says:

Strand the celebrations sure have started! Lol

As for Babin I do not know if we can afford him off waiver wire.

  14. strandoftds82 says:

I say wait until after and see if he becomes a FA and then go after Babin.

  15. alaskanbronco06 says:

    New blog.

  16. strandoftds82 says:

As usual, I gotta wait for 5 minutes until the system comes through. Blah!
