KICKOFF: The Titans deferred after winning the opening coin toss, and will receive to start the second half.
Q3 15:00: Marc Mariani raises his hands to signal ‘It’s good’ as Matt Prater’s kickoff sails through the uprights for a touchback. The Titans take over at their own 20-yard line, and first down brings a carry by Johnson, who is stuffed at the line. He officially picks up a yard. On second down, it’s another carry by Johnson, and Ayers takes him down after another yard. That makes it third-and-8, and Matt Hasselbeck scrambles around in the backfield before hitting Damian Williams for a 19-yard gain and a first down at the 41-yard line.
Q3 13:06: On first down, Hasselbeck hits his fullback Quinn Johnson for a 9-yard gain before he’s taken down by Wesley Woodyard. Johnson picks up the necessary yard for a first down on the next play. With the ball now in Denver territory on the 49, Hasselbeck hits Washington for a 7-yard gain. Second down brings an incomplete pass as Hasselbeck is hit from a blitz, and it’s now third-and-4 at the 43-yard line. Hasselbeck is in the shotgun and he finds a receiver right at the sticks, and apparently that will move the chains.
Q3 10:20: On first down, Hasselbeck tries to hit Johnson up the middle of the field but it’s incomplete. Second down brings a large group of Broncos into the backfield to stuff Javon Ringer at the line. Now third-and-10, Hasselbeck lines up in the shotgun. He takes the snap and tries to hit Lavelle Hawkins, but Jonathan Wilhite is there for the breakup. Brett Kern is in to punt, and Quan Cosby is deep to receive. Cosby calls for a fair catch at the 20-yard line after the 19-yard punt.
Q3 9:07: On first down, Kyle Orton quickly hits Eric Decker for another first down at the 31-yard line. The ensuing play is a 1-yard run by Willis McGahee. On second down, Orton steps up in the pocket and hits Daniel Fells for another first down. McGahee takes another carry on the next play, picking up 5 yards. Orton calls a timeout, Denver’s first of the second half, before the second-down play.
Q3 7:03: After the break, McGahee picks up a yard on second down. Now third-and-4, Orton breaks the huddle in the shotgun. The crowd is getting loud as Orton hits Decker on a bubble screen. The receiver picked up just enough for the first down in Tennessee territory at the 49-yard line.
Q3 6:12: On first down, Orton sidesteps a big blitz and avoids a sack before finding McGahee for a pickup of a yard. On second down, Lance Ball bounces a carry outside for a pickup of 7, setting up third-and-2. Orton hits Decker for a first down on the sideline at the 34-yard line.
Q3 4:32: On first down, Orton hits Decker for a quick 5-yard gain, and a facemask penalty tacks on 15 more yards to the 14-yard line, where the Broncos have a first-and-10. Orton hits Spencer Larsen for a 7-yard gain on first down.
Q3 3:03: After a run for no gain, Orton throws toward Larsen, who makes a great, diving, shoestring catch for the first down inside the 5. Now first-and-goal at the 4-yard line, Orton fakes a handoff before firing incomplete toward Decker. Second down brings a run for a loss of a yard, and it’s third-and-goal at the 5-yard line. Orton steps up in the pocket and fires a hard pass to McGahee in the end zone, and the running back hauls it in for a touchdown. Prater’s extra point is good, and the Broncos retake the lead.
BRONCOS 14, TITANS 10
Q3 1:17: On the first play of Tennessee’s drive, Von Miller sprints into the backfield and slaps the ball away from Hasselbeck, causing a fumble on the sack, and the Broncos recover. They take over at the 13-yard line.
Q3 0:35: After a 1-yard run by McGahee, the back takes it again and picks up another 5 yards to set up third-and-4 as the third quarter comes to a close.
Q4 15:00: On third-and-4 at the 7-yard line, Orton lines up in the shotgun. A Tennessee defensive lineman sprints into the backfield before the ball was snapped. Encroachment, but instead of 5 yards, it’s a half-the-distance-to-the-goal penalty, so the Broncos still face third down — third-and-1 at the 4-yard line. There’s flags on the play again, and once again it’s encroachment, so now it’s a first down. First-and-goal at the 2-yard line.
Q4 14:57: Orton’s pass is incomplete on first down. On second-and-goal, McGahee is stopped at the line of scrimmage, bringing up third-and-goal at the 2. The crowd is getting loud as Orton hands off to McGahee, who fights off a tackle before being taken down just short of the goal line. It’s fourth-and-goal at the 1, and the Broncos call a timeout, their second of the half.
Q4 13:34: After talking it over, the Broncos will go for it on fourth down. The defense is calling for the crowd to get loud, and McGahee is stopped for no gain. Tennessee takes over on its own 1-yard line on a turnover on downs.
Q4 13:28: Chris Johnson picks up a yard on first down, then Hasselbeck finds Washington with a quick pass, and the receiver reaches out for the first down at the 12-yard line. On the ensuing play, Johnson catches a pass out of the backfield for 3 yards, and the Broncos are called for a facemask, giving the Titans a first down at the 30. On first down with room to work, Johnson takes a carry for a yard. Hasselbeck proceeds to throw two incomplete passes, and the Titans are forced to punt. Brett Kern kicks to the waiting Quan Cosby, and Cosby is taken down at the 26-yard line, where the Broncos take over.
Q4 10:40: On first down, McGahee gains 3 yards on a run. Second-and-7 at the 29-yard line brings a quick pass from Orton to Virgil Green, and the rookie tight end picks up the first down. On the ensuing first down, Orton hits Lloyd, and the receiver is taken down after a gain of a yard. On second down, Orton’s pass is tipped at the line and falls incomplete. That brings up third-and-9 at the 37-yard line, and Orton hits Lance Ball, but the back is short of the first down after picking up 7 yards. Colquitt is in to punt to the waiting Mariani. Chris Harris hits the receiver immediately and takes him down at the 10-yard line. The Titans are called for holding, as well, pushing the ball back to the 5-yard line.
Q4 7:54: On first down Hasselbeck completes to Quinn Johnson for 8 yards. Hasselbeck’s second down pass for Williams is incomplete. Ringer hauls in a screen pass on third down and gets just enough for the first down.
Q4 6:40: Hasselbeck hits Craig Stevens deep over the middle on first down and the tight end picks up 58 yards. With first-and-10 from the Denver 25, Johnson runs up the middle for 8 yards. Hasselbeck then hits Washington for a first down at the 4-yard line. On first-and-goal, Hasselbeck hits Daniel Graham for a touchdown off of play-action. Bironas knocks in the extra point.
TITANS 17, BRONCOS 14
Q4 4:24: Denver starts at the 20. On first down, McGahee picks up 10 yards. Orton’s first down pass on the next play is incomplete intended for Decker and McGahee runs 2 yards on second down. On third down, Orton hits Decker, who lunges for first down yardage.
Q4 2:00: Orton hits Brandon Lloyd for a 20-yard gain on first down and the clock runs to the 2 minute warning. Denver has the ball on the Tennessee 38-yard line with one timeout left.
Q4 1:39: On first down, Orton scrambles away from pressure and runs out of bounds after a loss of one. On second-and-11 throws incomplete short to Matt Willis. On third down, Orton’s pass is deflected into the air and intercepted by Will Witherspoon. Tennessee takes over at their own 36-yard line.
Q4 1:27: Ringer runs for short yardage on first down and a flag is thrown for illegal formation, making it 1st-and-15. Ringer then runs up the middle for 3 yards on the next play and Denver calls its final timeout.
Q4 1:25: On second down after the timeout, Rahim Moore stops Ringer in the backfield for a loss of 2 yards. Tennessee calls a timeout with 41 seconds remaining. Hasselbeck then takes a knee and the clock runs out to end the game.
Final Score: TITANS 17, BRONCOS 14

Forgot to mention that rcsodak earned himself minus 5 points for his Wall of Shame entry and that’s the real bad part of being on the Wall of Shame.
You may be right, brian_schneider, but I’m holding out hope that as Fox, Elway, and Bowlen have their gut check meeting today, that they finally commit to Tebow for the rest of the season. I mean, it really can’t get any worse, can it? I believe if they do that, for once, a nice guy will finish first……and take the rest of his team along with him. Will it be this season? Probably not, but I bet it would happen sooner than everyone who doesn’t want him to succeed would ever imagine. I guess we’ll see.
Well Orton sux but our D is looking like a top defense even with big names out. Woodyard leads the team in tackles and is doing much better than he did last year on the pass. Not even sure if we need Moreno. I really think we are going to do some big things next year unless of course Orton is still here. If they don’t want Tebow to start then what ever put Quinn out there because Orton is not the guy. So sick of Fox and Elway thinking Orton is the guy. I want to see someone who wants to be out there not a tool bag with no brains or hart.
Go Broncos!!!!!!!! (not you Orton just have a seat)
Cooper blog up.
They cannot afford to start Tebow now financially, if anyone replaces Orton it will be Quinn at least until the 9th game of the season, see escalator clauses.
