Broncos at Seahawks: Second Half Live Blog

August 22nd, 2009 - 10:08pm by Kyle Sonneman

15:00: Broncos will receive the kick to start the second half. Kenny McKinley bobbles and takes it to the 21.

14:52: Offense takes the field with pretty much the same starting lineup. Kyle Orton hands off to LaMont Jordan to start the drive for a short gain of one-yard. Slip screen to Tony Scheffler on second down, but Scheffler fumbles. Recovered by Seattle to the Denver eight.

14:05: A false start on first down, pushes the Seahawks back. On first down, Mario Haggan looked to have stopped Justin Forsett, but Forsett slipped through for five yards. Seneca Wallace, is in at QB and throws incomplete on second down and then short to Forsett on third down. Fourth down, and Olindo Mare is out for the field goal. Kick is good, and the Seahawks add to their lead, 17-10. — Excuse me, Brandon Coutu kicked the field goal … too many players to keep track of in the preseason.

12:37: Alphonso Smith takes the kickoff to the 25, but their are flags on the field. Jeb Putzier is signaled for holding. Broncos will start at the 15.

12:10: The first down handoff to Peyton Hillis is sniffed out by the Seahawks and a loss of a yard. On second down, Orton throws to Hillis wh can’t hang on. Both Hillis and Jordan were in the area and I think each thought the other was going to make the catch. Third-and-11, Orton in the familiar shotgun, steps up but is being grabbed by the Seahawks and the ball falls incomplete. Fourth down and Britton Colquitt is on to punt. Colquitt has his kicked nearly blocked, or maybe it was tipped, either way it is a 15-yard punt. Official scorer is saying the ball was tipped.

10:57: Wallace shows off his skills as a runner and gets 18-yards and the Seahawks are first-and-goal at the 10.

10:00: A short Forsett run and then a Wallace incompletion and it is third-and-goal. A Bronco is down after the second down play. Looks to be Marcus Thomas.

9:52: Thomas is up with help from the trainers and is able to walk off the field on his own power. Third down, Wallace complete to Cameron Morrah, but Joshua Bell keeps him out of the endzone. Fourth-and-goal, and Wallace connects to Joe Newton for the touchdown. I thought he dropped it.

9:01: PAT is good, Seahawks now pulling away 24-10.

8:56: Broncos take over at the 31, Chris Simms is now at QB along with a bevy of other new faces. INJURY UPDATE – Thomas has an injury to an upper extremity and is questionable to return.

7:30: Darius Walker is in at running back and he has moved the Broncos to near midfield with two runs and a pass reception. First down Broncos at the Seahawks 43 after Simms hits McKinley.

6:45: Matt McChesney is called for holding on first down making it first-and-20. Make it second-and-21 after Walker is stopped for a loss. A short completion to Nate Swift and the team is facing third-and-17. Simms in the gun with Walker to his right … fires a quick pass but it is incomplete. Colquitt is out to punt.

4:50: Seahawks will have the ball at the 12-yard line and good news for the Broncos, Thomas is back on the field.

3:30: The defense holds the Seahawks to a three-and-out and Jon Ryan is out to punt to McKinley. McKinley looks to have fumbled after taking a shot. He did fumble and the Seahawks have recovered. Their ball at the Broncos 37.

2:59: Wallace is pressured on first down, but escapes to gain two-yards. Tony Carter is down on the play and the team’s training staff is out to look at the undrafted rookie from Florida State.

2:51: Carter is helped off the field and favoring his ankle. The Broncos hold Forsett to a short gain bringing up third-and-five. Wallace finds Jordan Kent, but Bell breaks it up and almost gets the pick. Fourth down. Brandon Coutu is on for the 52-yard field goal which is good. Seahawks 27 – Broncos 10.

1:46: Simms leads the Broncos back on the field at the 25-yard line. An incompletion on first down and an eight-yard run by Walker gives the Broncos third-and-two. Simms fakes the handoff to Walker and rolls to find Jeb Putzier for the first down.

0:20: Walker gains seven on the final play of the third quarter.

0:00: After three quarters, Seahawks 27 – Broncos 10.

START OF THE FOURTH QUARTER-

15:00: Walker is stopped for a short gain on second down. On third down, Simms hits McKinley for the first down and then the Seahawks are whistled for a personal foul, after going after Simms low. First-and-ten at the Seahawks 23. INJURY UPDATE — Alphonso Smith and Tony Carter lower extremity injuries and are questionable to return.

14:01: The hit seems to have bothered Simms enough to be replaced by Tom Brandstater. Bradstater is complete on his first NFL pass, but a loss of two.

13:00: In the gun on third-and-six, Brandstater can’t find a receiver so he looks to run, but is taken down. They are calling it a zero-yard sack. But wait, he couldn’t find anyone because the defense was holding. First down at the 19 for the Broncos.

12:00: A short run and a short pass and it is third-and-five at the nine. Brandstater looks but can’t find anyone and is sacked by Nick Reed. Colquitt is out for the 39-yard field goal attempt. It is good, Seahawks 27 – Broncos 13.

10:28: A nice return by Deon Butler and the Seahawks will start at their 41. INJURY UPDATE — Chris Simms has a lower extremity injury and is questionable. Mike Teel is now in at QB for the Seahawks.

10:20: Looks like Devin Moore may have fumbled for the Seahawks… but the referee Tony Corrente says he was down. Third-and-six and the Broncos have held Moore short. Ryan is back out to punt and the kick goes through the endzone for the touchback.

8:22: Brandstater is hit hard by Reed and sacked on first down, loss of five yards. Brandstater fumbled on the hit, but fell on the ball. On second down, Marcus Thomas – the running back – is held for no gain. Third-and-15, Brandstater is in the gun and hands it to Walker for a short gain of maybe four yards. Holding is also called on Mitch Erickson, but the penalty is declined. A Seahawk is down and being looked at by the training staff.

6:50: Brett Kern belts out a 61-yard punt that is returned 10 yards to the Seahawks 29.

6:45: A pass and a short run and the Seahawks have a first down at the 40.

5:37: Broncos have forced the Seahawks into a fourth down and Ryan is back out to punt. Swift deep for the Broncos. Swift brings the ball to about the 29.

4:33: A long run Marcus Thigpen is nullified by a holding call on Clint Oldenburg. First-and-20.

3:50: Third-and-18, Brandstater’s pass is behind C.J. Jones and the Broncos are punting. Colquitt is back to kick and the coverage team stops the Seahawks at their 41.

3:00: Another three-and-out for the Seahawks as Teel tries deep for Mike Hass. David Bruton had the coverage and Teel was pressured heavily by Everette Pedescleaux.

1:58: Following the two-minute warning, the Broncos face a second-and-six at the 14 and Brandstater is sacked by Michael Bennett. Nine-yard loss, third-and-15. Walker gets the handoff and gets nine yards.

0:00 That will do it from Seattle, the Broncos fall to the Seahawks 27-13.

I think Barrett is on the bubble because of Bruton and McBath. They still may keep him bcause of his ST play. He is a good player but remember that last year he was put on the PS because he struggled and then when they brought him back in, he played better because he learned the plays by then and had a chip on his shoulder. Lets hope he does it again.

  2. orange and blue champ 24 says:

On the lack of info. I hope that they sneak Torrain back somehow. There just seems to be something sneaky going on there.

  3. Dynamicdave says:

Cassel would have done well in Denver. He knew the offense.

  4. orange and blue champ 24 says:

    canesnick
Chill. No one on here right now is bashing Orton. Your going to blow a vessel.

  5. Dynamicdave says:

I wish Torain would be brought back in, too. He is a playmaker. I watched him at ASU and he was a beast. I questioned McD’s decision to release him for someone like Walker or Thomas.

  6. Dynamicdave says:

Champ, thanks, I was just about to say the same thing. If anything, you know I’m one of the few who has been a huge supporter of Kyle’s. But I also call the players pro’s and cons. When I write for Fan Huddle, I have to be fair (if not a bit biased, ha, ha).

  7. canesnick says:

    orange and blue,
nobody’s blowing a vessel here buddy, I was simply commenting on a bunch of earlier comments bashing Orton for his INT. There’s nothin’ wrong with defending your team and expressing your opinion….i think you’re doin’ it yourself and nobody’s telling you to chill

  8. hotsizzle says:

Oh ya, Brandstater welcome to the NFL!!!

  9. canesnick says:

    dynamicdave,
completely agree with your take on Torain, the kid always showed flashes of being a stud. He definitely has an injury problem, but it didn’t sound like this latest one was all that serious. And he definitely shouldn’t have been cut, especially not in exchange for Walker, Thomas, Thigpen or any other RBs that we might’ve picked up that don’t have half the talent that Torain has. That, and I’m sure you guys touched on it earlier, but Mike Bell looked awfully good last nite…hate seeing that after we cut him

  10. orange and blue champ 24 says:

Easy big guy. Didn’t mean nothing by it. Just meant no Orton haters on right now. Their out there, though, so go ahead. I’ll mind my own business.

  11. orange and blue champ 24 says:

How about the other RB that Wash. picked up? How’s he doing? Avery I think.

  12. canesnick says:

    orange and blue
I definitely know that there are no Orton haters on now, and I didn’t refer to you or anyone else who’s on here at this moment. Like I said earlier, I just logged on for the first time and read some earlier comments, so I commented on them, and not on you or anyone else who supports our team and our QB. So don’t worry bout it…we r all supporting the same cause.

  13. canesnick says:

R u talking about that fast kid we had last year who tore it up in the preseason then got cut?

  14. Dynamicdave says:

Well guys, I’m out. I’ve been battling a sore throat/low grade temp for a couple of days. Guess I never fully recovered from that flu episode. Resistance is low (hell, I dropped 10 pounds from the flu). Going to rest. GO BRONCOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  15. orange and blue champ 24 says:

No worries. Yeah, the little speedy guy. Also, the guy we tried to get from Houston and they matched it. How’s he doing?

  16. orange and blue champ 24 says:

    Bye batman.

  17. Dynamicdave says:

    Ha, ha, almost forgot…

    To the Batmobile….

Talk to you guys again later, same bat time, same bat channel……

  18. orange and blue champ 24 says:

    I’m out also.

  19. knowshon27 says:

Kyle did well moving the ball in the first drive or two. But in the second half he had most of his FIRST STRING offense against A SECOND STRING defense and was shut down!!! Our only other hope Sims got injured poor tom bradstarter who wasn’t even going to play got massacred by the seahawks D line welcome to the NFL buddy.

  20. royalbroncofan1 says:

First drive looked really good…. Orton looked alot more comfortable this week. The bubble screen to Royal obviously had great results. 3 receiver sets were ran efficiently. Gaffney looked solid other than the dropped pass on the backline of the endzone for a TD. They’ve practiced that play extensively… better results next time. Hard to see them come out empty handed on that drive, but agree with you oldsouthstander on that point. (working on passing game).

Agree Tatum Bell would be more effective than two runners during the 2nd half, but they were playing behind 2nd & 3rd stringers…still no excuses for this group as many won’t make the Team. ( A few will be on practice squad).

Defense almost had one turnover. 2 more sacks last night. Some confusion and ‘hawks took advantage.

Looks like Marshall is trying to force is way out…. (he’s worth a 1st & 4th rd pick)… trade deadline Oct 20th.

Got a kick out #4 on your list oldsouthstander….. yeah Jaime Dukes.. Can’t stand the guy !

Bears and old #6 coming to town… let’s give ‘em hell!!!!!

    GO BRONCOS!!

  21. TheRoyalBeast says:

I agree with people saying dont panic about Orton but For those saying one play doesnt dictate a season…very true…but it very easily dictates a game. He is a game manager, he doesnt need to do too much. But Orton threw that interception that gave them OVERWHELMING momentum. But Orton Definitely looked better this week. After what we lost trying to get cassel I am soooooo mad we didnt end up with him. At least like many have said he woulda at least known the offense….sigh. If you are gonna backstab do it right….lol

I agree with BroncoBailey99′s stance on marshall, it was somewhat objective. Marshall would make his life easier I.E he wouldnt have dropped the pass Gafney did for the TD that led to INT on next play….I would like to believe. Plus he is good with the YAC yrds so he will be able to do both the short passes and the deep balls. Hope everything ends well with Im and he gets up to speed. We need Moreno, we need Ayers, and Bdawk will improve our DB core. What we really need now is what we lacked last year….TURNOVERS…well at least we’ve got the sacks down right.

    GO BRONCOS

  22. DoomervilRocks92 says:

I couldn’t help noticing that early in the game, we didn’t get a lot of pressure on Matt Hasselback, so he had all day to throw. We need pressure on the QB to get turnovers.

  23. 07elway says:

Well I barely survived last nights game. The 2nd half was probably the worst second half of any game I think I’ve ever seen. We got one of everything… penalties, injuries, their D kicked our offense’s butt in the 4th quarter and I don’t think I even remember a first down being made by us in the 2nd half. Its all one big blur to me right now. Then I had a friend really tick me off last night before I left their house so it only angered me more about the game. Thank God its still only pre season.

Orton looked great till that one INT in the end zone by Lucas… there’s where the firestorm kicked off. They should have never gone for that TD on 4th down. I hope all the injuries aren’t too serious. Ya know that whole 2nd half was like one big flashback to our entire season we had last year. Not exactly what I had in mind. It will make a huge difference when we have Dawkins on our D and hopefully Moreno will get some playing time. Well he better if they let Torain go… dumb idea.

I think I’m the one that’s gonna pop a vein if I don’t stop talking about this. Rubbing my ears and saying woo-sah!! haha

    With faith…
    GO BRONCOS in ’09!!!!

  24. wanagi says:

man Our first team offense couldn’t do jack against the seagulls 2nd team defense….I hate that i moved here to seattle…being a bronco fan isn’t easy living here…especially around old division rivals…boy am I gonna have to hear it tomorrow…at work..

Kyle looked better last night…but until he did the Jake the snake move..only difference though Jake was alot better than Kyle will ever be…our Rookie looked shell shocked out there…held the ball way to long…I was worried he was gonna get hurt…our running backs are the worst in the league…except for moreno..he reminds of portis when he was with us..only difference is moreno has alot more skills…everyone that our coach brought in..stinks…lamont can;t run more than 3 yards..buckhalter….well…I’ll be nice and say nothing…Jabar can’t catch he never could..has more drops catchs than boost mobile has dropped calls…Goodman reminds me of Ray Crockett..gets burnt for every touchdown pass thrown…he was burnt for both touchdown passes last night…dawkins is old….he is no john lynch…lynch worked hard to keep his body in playin condition…kyle is well..lets just say not intelligent….look at the time outs we wasted…and after the time outs were used, the Delay of games…the wrong receivers he hits….a Die Hard Fan here since the age of 7, 25 years later..my happiness is dying hard….

Why won’t B-Marsh pull his head out of his you know what and get his head into the game..he is letting our team down..but most of all he is letting us down as fans…Just like Cutler did…only difference though we don’t need b-marsh like we needed the crybaby….hate to say this but he don’t want to be a Bronco than he don’t deserve to wear the greatest teams jersey cut him or trade him..he’s a waste by wasting his time crying around in the media…we need players who want to be a Bronco..Who is serious about being a Bronco…Not no money hungry crybabies…I loved Marshall..I bragged about him all the time…told everyone he was the next big thing at WR….since Jerry Rice…yes

anyways I’m done ranting sorry you all..but have no bronco fans here to rant to..these seagull fans talk to much crap..

    GO BRONCOS!!!!!

we will survive this season, even if it’s the worst season in our history!! Because we are The Greatest Franchise in the NFL….Because we are the Greatest Fans in the NFL!!!

  25. D~J~C~#24is#1 says:

Only one thing to say. TURNOVERS KILL A TEAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Our turnover differential for 2 games is negative 6 that’s horrible!!!!!!! Ya we did a lot of good things on offense but you can’t give the other team the game like that. Good news is our D looks much much improved this year and will only improve when B. Dawkins returns. O and hopefully Marshall will understand that in order to land a big contract u have to prove yourself FIRST!!!

  26. Marshallman-15 says:

We’ll go at last 7-9, trust me

  27. Marshallman-15 says:

I think when we went for the TD on 4th yesterday, instead of orton rolling left, he should’ve rushed. I’m still yet to see what I expected from Jabar Gaffney. Brandon Stokely should be higher up on the roster than him

  28. texark-fan says:

d-j-c, don’t worry about the -6 on turn overs.. we play cutler next week. did anyone notice how many times the anouncers said COVERAGE SACK?

mars-15, how do you know if you can do anything until you try it? as far as gaffney, imo the only reason he is where he is b/c if we trade #15 than he is our best hope. not saying much. so we play him now.

when simms went down the whole team from bradstater to coach mac lost all their brains. thats all you can say about the 2nd half. if they call it a learning experance than we are NOW one of the smartest teams around, ……along with being one of the YOUNGEST.

  29. Evo_Tom says:

lets be honest Orton is a fail QB he makes bad choices when ever he has pressure in his face and he does not have the arm to streach the feild. we need to just cut our losses get this doomed season over with and get a QB in the draft cause what we have right now is not going to win us anything. we went from having a great offense and a defense who needs help to having a ok defence and a ok offense at best. the issue is an OK offense is never going to win u Ring. Also we need to get a head coach in who knows what he is doing and stop thinking that everything that comes out of New England is amazing. Come on this guy has came in a single handedly torn apart everything that was good in our offense. there is only one peice in the Cutler and Marshal fights that are the same and thats MCD. at some point he needs to be knocked off his high horse and shown that he still has learning to do in this leage and like it or not u have to get along with ur players. cause with out them ur nothing. sorry this is just my first good chance to vent. i know not everyone agrees with me but u have to look at this season and this last off season and be worried about were we are headed.

  30. TheOrangeCrush24 says:

WTF, when did torain get cut ?, i have been away and came back and hes gone ???? and why in the hell would you cut him hes better than half the rb’s we have, like Walker, and Thigpin wtf

  31. Evo_Tom says:

oh and one more thing all the people who say that B-Marsh needs to prove himself. HE DID !!!!!! last season if u rember… he and jay went to that thing in hawaii were guys get to go when they prove them selfs for the whole seaon… THE PRO BOWL!!!! u know what the problem is that that MCD spent to much money brining in all of his friends from New England to be able to pay the players we already had. Come on we cant pay our best reciver the money he deserves but we can have the highest paid long snapper in the nfl thats just stupid

  32. Broncofan387 says:

I would like to say Orton actually did great yesterday managing the game yesterday. Only one problem he tried to be a playmaker. 1 play can change the game. He tried to throw it with his left hand? He isn’t even that strong with his right hand. I think the playing calling has been retarded so far. I like the formations and motions but I was not too fond of the play selection. McD is supposed to be a offensive genius, I didn’t see it. From now on I am bashing Orton anymore, I am just going to hold McD responsible. He has a lot to prove because none of Belichik’s assistants really had any suceess as head coaches themselves. I am really getting sick of McD’s media responses as well, he doesn’t seem sincere about any answers.

As for Marshall, I really thing we need him. We do have couple of nice speedy receivers, but none of them r like Marshall. Orton can’t throw that far, so we need Marshall for the short passes.he could catch one of those, break couple tackles, and take it to the house. We could also use the double coverage Marshall brings with him to open up the other receivers.

I was also fairly happy with our pass rush, 3 sacks isn’t too shabby, I think if we can get little better coverage in the secondary, we will be much better.

Even though the scoreboard doesn’t say I think we did much better this week.

Anyway good luck to our Denver Broncos(patriots)!!!!!

  33. babychamp-broncos^ says:

    evo_tom
Orton is not a failure, I honestly believe he can get it done he just needs to improve on the int ratio which he will of course…..Don’t blame cutler leaving the team on McD because at the end of the day it was Cutlers decision but he got his feelings hurt and decided to leave which shows no backbone no loyalty no nthn..he should have manned up said this is my team but he didnt and he took the punk way out and broncos dont represent suckers and losers and selfish players..we are a classy organization look at rod smith mcaffrey john elway terrell davis those are all class acts…I wasnt to fond of mcd when he came in but i came around to liking his approach with the team….like it or not we gon have to get used to him being around…as for marshall he is another selfish player and he hasnt proven anything really….the last three games last season he didnt even score a touchdown or come thru for the team when we really needed him he only had 5 or 6 touchdowns last season…come on now u willing to give this guy a fat contract because he says so…he dosent even know the playbook come on now….its a business man u can’t give these players what they want they have to earn and with marshall attitude he wont be getting anything…

  34. G funk says:

wow i here some of you already giving up because of two pre season games. when i watch preseason i look for team chemestry. I think th team looked fine. yes there where bone head plays but for the most part our first team team moved the ball pretty good and i think our D looked much improved. I’m not saying the team needs to get better but they are not as bad as some people on here are making them out to be. I for one liked the play calling they mixed it up alot and it showed our versital offence i can’t wait to see when they get down to it

  35. Evo_Tom says:

cutler showed no loyalty to the team that showed him none. McD came in looked cutler in the face told him he was excited to get to work with him and that he was a big part of why he wanted to come here then stabed him in the back. i agree u cant give players what ever they want but at some point there has to be a trade off u can have the couch stomping on all the players and running behind their back. I mean look at what happend with marshall and the PR crap. again another one of our star players gets stomped on by our coches and front office ofcourse they dont want to be here. We DID have one of the best well ran teams in the league. We might not have won every game but there was never a quiestion of how things were being handled at the front office or with the players that was why everyone wanted to be a bronco. now it seems like we are loosing that very fast and turning into laughing stock.

  36. George Bush says:

Whatever happens this is going to be an interesting season. We will have to wait and see whether the team have improved or gone backwards but the dye is cast and we are all tied to McDaniels and are dependent on him.

What is important with all the new players coming in is that a team spirit is generated that will see all the players pulling together. This is not being helped by Brandon Marshall making less than helpful comments about wanting to leave. In all sports I find that once a player asks to leave you need to let them go.

The greatest footballer in the world, Cristiano Ronaldo, was transferred from Manchester United to Real Madrid in the summer, because he wanted to go.

In these situations you just need to get on with it, bring in new players and make changes to your system to compensate. I think part of the problem here is that with the complexity of the new system players are taking longer than usual to adjust, except for those brought in from New England.

I am hoping that the players will all show a great allegiance to the Broncos and the fans will all show a great allegiance to the players and coaching staff.

We need to believe and give the team our full support come hell or high water.

  37. George Bush says:

Evo Tom – Are you saying that McDaniels is perfidious?

  38. D~J~C~#24is#1 says:

babychamp I agree. But McD. Has a lot LOT of proving to do to me before I can side with him and i don’t like his cockiness. I’m as big a Denver fan as anyone, and I still have hoe in this team for this season if they can pull together and stay away from injuries. But realistically I think McD is gonna eat some humble pie. He said, going back to high school he’s never even gone 500. and He doesn’t loose?? Well guess what he’s all ready 500. for the preseason and hasn’t won an NFL game yet as a head coach.
As for our team as a whole I think we’ve definitely improved from last year. With a lot of room for improvement on both sides of the ball. But looking at the long term I’m not convinced Orton has the talent and game changing decision making to win a SB.
I realize its only preseason but…..I hope we can at least make 500. because the way things are going……..idk. Time will tell.
WE CAN ONLY WAIT AND SEE.

    GO DENVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. Evo_Tom says:

yea. i dont think he loyalty to anyone excpet the people he is bringing for NE. he proved that right out of the gate with bringing in the new LS that me didnt need. he doenst care about the talent already on this team because he wasnt the one to put it here its not good enough. look at Torian. Yea the kid has been injured but he has also inpressed coaches with how fast and how he fights on the feild but McD didnt bring him in so hes not good enough. u can not tell me that we have that many people at RB better then him. the only ones i can think of is Moreno and hillis.

  40. Broncofan387 says:

    Evo_tom

You what I do agree with u that we didn’t have nearly as much problems with the front office in recent years as we did in the past. I still can’t believe we had this many changes to the whole team, instead of just our D.

I always thoguht Mike was going to be our coach until he couldn’t coach anymore. So far I do like the direction our D is going, our O not so much.

If its not broken we don’t need to fix it. These were very risky moves by Mr. B I hope it pays off.

P.s. I am typing drom my phone don’t judge so much on the spelling

  41. wahleaf says:

B Marsh is our best player when your talking about size, skills, and age you guys can say what ever but we need him on the field to make our team better if not its going to hurt us; first of all poor Dawkins gonna ask his self what did he come to as a team then once we start losing. Players are not going to want come to this team. Mc D has a chance to change the whole off season drama by giving B Mash a good contract.

  42. babychamp-broncos^ says:

torain is injured prone he cant stay healthy he was even hurt in college but the main argument is with marshall…right now he claims he wants out but really all he wants is the money but he is going wrong about it….all he has to do is shut up and perform and the money will roll in the only reason the broncos have not givin him a deal is because if he gets in trouble or re-injured the broncos wont get anything back in return for his big pay raise…its not they dont want to its just not the right time to do it yet thats all it is

  43. babychamp-broncos^ says:

And your right we have not had problems until recently but thats only because everything is basically new…b4 it was shanahan thats wut everyone was used to now its mcd n we gotta get into the flow of things wit him unless he struggles and gets fired

  44. Evo_Tom says:

but the problem is and the reason why he wants to get paid now is because he knows that he is not going to have the chance to put up the numbers that he had last year again with this team. or atleast with Ortan as the QB

broncofan387 and evo tom I’m sorry but our Offence was broken. it needed a new direction when all you need is to win one out of 3 games to make the playoff and you can’t even do that there is a problem. and Wahleaf agree with March being a big part of our Offence. but if you can’t lead buy example how can you ask to get paid. What if we gave him a big contract and he gets himself suspended. then people will say why would they give a trouble maker that kind of money. I think if he can show he a team leader and stay out of trouble he will get paid

in this system marshall can put up scary numbers but he hasnt even gave it a chance yet…once he sees it then he can perform but even if he dosent want to be a bronco he still has to perform in some way to make himself more valuable next season when he is a free-agent….Hes not making smart decisions right now

we didnt lose those last 3 games because of our O we lost them cause people could use anyone to run all over our D. u can only ask the O to put up so many points. so no our O was not broken. U can call the #2 offense in the leage broken. Babychamp- B-marsh is not going to be able to put up massive points in this system because this system lacks one big point the NE has that we dont. Tom Brady. put B-Marsh over in NE and he will have insane numbers keep him here he will not get close to breaking what he did last year

  48. babychamp-broncos^ says:

Ok true that but Marshall is highly skilled at breaking tackles…most of his yards came from after the catch because of his ability to break tackles…he may not get as many receptions but thats nthn compared to the yards and touchdowns he can get…this system also draws attention away from him so can make bigger plays….i think he still can put up a lot he jus has to give it a chance

The offense has problems? Not really. All mistakes made can be corrected and Orton has plenty of weapons in his arsenal. Again, I believe we’ll be fine. The preseason is an evaluation period but overall, I’m impressed with the direction of the team. We have the potential to be really explosive and solid on defense as well!

I’m so tired of hearing about marsha proving her self already. If you want a big contract you first must be a leader on the team. Just so I’m clear on what a leader is it is someone who knows the d**n offense.
you don’t go crying to the media every other day. So marsha get a clue
learn the offense or just shut up either way is fine with me. To be honest I hope we get rid of her. She is nothing but a cancer to this team.
