Seems like I'm not the only one thinking there may be problems in the locker room, Woody said there was plenty of it going around early Summer between Orton and McD and now this DP blogger is making a good point after this game:

Here's what Denver Post poster "Bullet Bob" had to say after reading Mark Kiszla's column on the Broncos' loss:

"For the first time," McDaniels admitted, 'I thought our mental toughness was questioned.'

"Out of that whole article, this will be the downfall and eventual legacy of Coach McDaniels. You never question the hearts of the players in public you best believe that there will be turmoil in the locker room after the beating that the Broncos took this weekend and by the comment Coach McD made.

Hard to argue with cold facts, McD is not a people person, and a non people person as a HC is a tough riddle to solve, just saying.

88, that's the philosopher in me, I can't help it, I always like to look at things deeper than just the obvious x's and o's, because often the reason for success or defeat lays hidden under the surface and is not only about the plays on the field, don't mean to upset anyone by digging deep, if I smell trouble I'll go dig it out.

I said my piece last night but I will say this in response to Bay. I dont understand how you can speak towards the moreale of players and their belief in McDaniels of all the bloggers on here I figured you would leave that alone. What happens in a locker room has never been something anyone outside of can really speak on. I had a coach give up on a game like that and I'll tell you the next week we had never played so hard I just dont agree with speaking on internal things like that is all how can we assume what happens in the hearts and minds of other people, just sayin ya know what I mean. By the way love your breakdown, if I get a chance I will put one out too.

And I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but even so we have not played a division game yet, it is now getting clearer and clearer that we are putting ourselves in a gigantic hole as far as getting a playoff spot with a wildcard since our three losses are all to AFC foes, Jacks, Colts and Ravens. The only way to get in will be winning the division, you can count the wildcard option out, that's my take on that.

That being said I agree that we played an impossible game to win Sunday, considering I have the Ravens winning the SB this year and us going 9-7, so a loss to the Ravens doesn't change anyhting, but what it does is that the way in which they lost it makes it very difficult to get up for the next team on our radar, the Jets, who bring in even more pressure on the QB if that's possible and are arguably maybe the most complete team in this league. Bottom line is if we can pull that one off, as some of you think, they will have definitely exceeded my expectations for the first six games, where I have them a 2-4, so 3-3 would be awesome, but it's a mountain of a climb to get there and unfortunatley I'm not convinced McD can get his troops to buy onto whatever it will take to climb it, trouble in paradise is on the horizon in my view as you well know, but plenty of time to straighten it out, but that's not McD's forte, so, well, we split these two road games so this was a good road trip actually, I'll give them that, but tough latest beat down to get up from is what they are faced with now.

Ready or not, time for the Good, the Bad and the Ugly:

The Good

On O:

Let's start with the Orton to Lloyd TD before the half, considering the implication of the play, having us go in at halftime down only ten points if we score and with some kind of momentum going into the second half, that throw and catch was one of the greatest I have ever had the pleasure to watch in my Bronco life, as funny as it may sound. That alone was worth the price of admission. And the second one was cool, even so it was trash time by then, no biggie.

Gaffney with 9 catches came to the rescue when Orton couldn't connect to Lloyd because that #31 nightmare was all over him the entire first half, then McD realized that as they were playing zone D, if he sent Lloyd deep he was then covered by the deeper guy and Lloyd started making plays, he also moved him from the left side of the field where that #31 was roaming to the right side and Lloyd also had success there. So good adjustments there even so it took like forever to take place. As usual with McD, better late than never, or too little too late, make your pick.

Royal started out hot while Lloyd was smothered.

Finally a deep long catch by a TE, Graham was deeper than the WR on the route, 28 yards.

On D:

The first goal line stand mainly by DJ on two of the downs, absolutely smelled the plays and showed great athletic abilities to shut it down, should of been a huge momentum swing for us after that first long drive of theirs, but then they went on with another drive just as long, and another, and another, well you get the idea.

The Dawkins dislodging of the ball collision, totally legal and it probably is still rattling the bejesus out of Mason I think as we speak.

On St:

Can't think of anything other than the two KO returns produced good yards, Colquitt and Prater were mainly good, and the coverage was improved, but nothing really good standing out overall.

The Bad

Well this could go on and on, and a lot of it was already said last night, so I'll keep the dirty laundry to a generic bunch of stuff we were bad at, like mainly the game preparation by McD, first and foremost responsible whenever his troops are not ready to fight the fight for him. Did the Bailey thing have an adverse effect on the team? I'm not going down that road, since when I bring up stuff like that some bloggers here take exception and tell me what the heck would I now about how the morale of the players is, so rest easy folks, everything is still fine and dandy in fantasy land, every player loves McD to pieces and the only reason they played with no intensity overall yesterday is simply because they had a bad day, LOL. Happy now?

But we were also bad at so many things, like penalties (10 of them), the TOP (23:43 to 36:17), the running game (39 yards), the stopping the run thing (allowed 233 yds), the no real QB pressure (no sacks), the O line not doing protection or opening up running lanes well at all and overall a D allowing 415 yards against an O that had been a very small yard producing machine so far. This game looked so much like the worse games after the mid season collapse of last year it isn't even funny, at least it scares me way more than many of you optimists.

The Ugly:

That one to me goes to McD for giving up on a game with over 4 minutes to go on 4th and 15 from our own end down 10-31. Let's just punt the ball, this is probably like college where it matters in the standings if a team runs up a score on another, are you kidding me? I can honestly say I have never felt so utterly hopeless watching a Bronco game as when McD threw in the towel there. So what if we don't make a first down, worse thing that can happen is they score again, would that be too embarrassing for you coach, so embarrassing that it blinds you of the only reason we play this game, to win. And you orange kool aid guys think everything is fine between the players and McD, what a joke, how can any player have any respect fof their coach when he lays down on a game, what are these football players playing for, the coach's pride?

That's all folks, I wanted to take it easy on everybody, because the bad and ugly could of been a paperback issue this week.

I was really disappointed to see Thomas get hurt on that kickoff return. It was like 7 yards deep, why even try taking it out of the endzone. The first one was more shallow in the endzone than that one and he took a knee. It is quite funny how our two first round picks really haven't had any type of impact yet. Sure, Thomas had a couple of nice returns against TEN. I'd rather see him in the receiving game than in the return game. I haven't heard an update on his injury but now what, he's going to miss more time probably. I'm really getting frustrated with our lack of a running game. Orton still had a good game but we need a win. That's all the sports people can talk about is Orton has such great numbers. I'm sure he'd be the first to tell you they don't mean anything unless you win. I'm getting sick and tired of this BS. Quite frankly I'm getting really pissed off at McD. He keeps saying "we need offensive balance" yet he doesn't put any emphasis on the running game. Maroney looks like he takes forever to get to the LOS after the handoff, then he needs to dance around. What happened to Buck, he was pretty decent last year and Brown, well he was ineffective. I don't know if it is the young line or the scheme, but we need to get this $#!* figured out. Doesn't help when your offensive line has drive killing penalties. I sure hope we can put a W up this week.

I guess on the bright side, we didn't lose to the Raiders like those sissy Chargerettes. LOL!!!

Sloppy, Sloppy, Sloppy. its like Orton said "You cant even beat a college team if its 3rd and 20 or 3rd and 25 80% of the time." eliminate the stupid mistakes and we might take this game, but its ok learn from these losses and fix your mistakes; come back next week looking for a big match-up with the jets! we are almost through the meat of our schedule and then its oakland and the 49ers! hopefully at the very worst we are 4-4 at the bye, that way I feel we can come out and blow up the second half of this year!

Does anyone know the status of Demaryius or Dawk, I wanna know if their injuries are as severe as they looked, and I'm starting my own personal campaign of Take Demaryius off of KR! haha
