Here we are at Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum, and there is still a baseball infield that takes up most of the field. Nothing is painted in the end zone or at the 50-yard line, as the Oakland Athletics’ season isn’t quite over.
Lots of players warming up on the field, and it is hot and fairly humid here in Oakland. Looks like a clock is counting down on the scoreboard until the stands open for fans — just about 20 minutes left until The Black Hole starts to fill up.
Here’s a look at the gameday weather for today’s matchup:
11:02 p.m. PDT: On the field warming up right now looks to be Marcus Thomas, Mario Haggan, Vonnie Holliday, Kyle Orton, Jack Williams, Kenny Peterson, Wesley Woodyard, Tom Brandstater, Chris Simms, Robert Ayers and Matt Prater. The event staff is at the ready as the crowd is about to start filing in.
12:00 p.m. PDT: Just got the inactives for today’s game:
Chris Baker, Brandon Gorin, Spencer Larsen, Brandon Lloyd, Kenny McKinley, Jarvis Moss, Seth Olsen and Tom Brandstater are inactive for Denver. Brandstater is the team’s third quarterback.
12:06 p.m. PDT: The Denver and Oakland special teams units are on the field — and it’s official, the Broncos will wear their white jerseys and white pants, and the Raiders are in their black jerseys and silver pants.
LaMont Jordan is on the field as well, greeting a few former teammates. He just chatted for a few seconds with Raiders rookie Darrius Heyward-Bey.
12:15 p.m. MDT: Just got the Raiders inactives — DB Hiram Eugene, G Robert Gallery, G Paul McQuistan, WR Chaz Schilens, TE Brandon Myers, WR Javon Walker, WR Nick Miller and QB Charlie Frye. Frye is the team’s third quarterback.
12:17 p.m. MDT: A couple more Broncos are on the field, joining Brett Kern, Lonie Paxton and Prater. Peyton Hillis is fielding some kickoffs from Prater and Alphonso Smith is fielding punts from Kern.
12:20 p.m. MDT: Here are the pictures from the field:
12:25 p.m. PDT: Plenty of boos as a group of Broncos jog onto the field in their all-white uniforms. Now all three quarterbacks, the receivers, tight ends, running backs and defensive backs are warming up. Brian Dawkins is pacing back and forth and looks to be doing a bit of shouting as he gets prepared for the game.
12:31 p.m. PDT: The Broncos huddled up as the defensive line and linebackers headed out to the field to complete the team. The Raiders huddle was a little close to the Broncos huddle, and it looked like there was a little tension before both groups separated to go warm up for the game.
12:46 p.m. PDT: Looks like there’s a group of about five Broncos fans who are braving The Black Hole. Every Raiders fan in the section is turned around and giving them a hard time, with some serious boos and some chanting. Looks like there’s a decent amount of event staff behind them, though, so hopefully they’ll make it through the contest.
1:00 p.m. PDT: A quick martial arts display is the pregame entertainment at midfield — or should I say second base. They’re putting on a fake fight in the middle of the infield.

1:03 p.m. PDT: A Raiders intro video is showing on the big screen and the cheerleaders are waiting in the end zone. The Broncos coaching staff and now players are jogging onto the field to a chorus of boos. The Denver defense is being introduced by the PA announcer.
Apparently Ice Cube sings the official theme song of the Raiders…from the chorus, seems like it’s called “We’re the Nation.” Now the song is ending and as “Hells Bells” plays, the crowd is getting hyped as they watch the Raiders approach on the big screen.
1:11 p.m. MDT: The National Anthem is over and the captains are getting ready to meet at midfield.

I believe they’ll be wearing their white away jerseys. Ryan Clady is on the field and you can see the team will be wearing white pants, at least. No visible jerseys on the field quite yet.

The stands are still pretty empty right now, about an hour before kickoff. But I just got some pictures from Chris Gentilviso on the field, and there seems to be some solid Broncos representation out there. I see a No. 56 jersey in some front-row seats…either Al Wilson or Robert Ayers, I presume.
I think the game is sold out cuz thats the only reason its going to be televised. I hope it got sold out to the Bronco fans out here in California. we need it to be the orange hole

Although, I hope it’s a Wilson jersey. Once Ayers gets his head right he’ll have plenty of fans sporting his jersey and will be a bit more deserving than he is at this point.
A few of my friends are at the game. 2 of them are Bronco fans, and they told me its nothing but black and silver there.
