START OF GAME: The Broncos won the toss and elected to defer to the second half. The Raiders will receive to start the game. Matt Prater is on the field to kick off.
15:00: After Prater’s kick goes for a touchback, the Raiders start their first drive at their own 20-yard line. The Broncos defense has taken the field to start the game, and the starters are Kenny Peterson, Ronald Fields and Ryan McBean on the line, Mario Haggan, D.J. Williams, Andra Davis and Elvis Dumervil at linebacker, Champ Bailey and Andre’ Goodman at cornerback and Brian Dawkins and Renaldo Hill closing out the unit at safety.
13:07: Andra Davis meets Darren McFadden after a gain of one on the first play of the game. On the second play, JaMarcus Russell tries to throw a quick pass out to McFadden, who was met immediately and fumbled. The Raiders recovered however, and were left with a 3rd-and-13. The defense made the stop after an eight-yard pass from Russell and the Raiders have a quick three-and-out to start the contest.
12:54: Now the Broncos offense is on the field, with Kyle Orton at the helm. At running back is Correll Buckhalter. The wide receivers are Eddie Royal and Jabar Gaffney. Daniel Graham and Tony Scheffler are at tight end. The offensive line is the normal unit — Ryan Clady, Ben Hamilton, Casey Wiegmann, Chris Kuper and Ryan Harris.
12:06: A four-yard run by Buckhalter followed by a 15-yard pickup by Brandon Marshall on a pass from Orton equals a Broncos first down. On the next play, Orton fakes a handoff and finds Scheffler for another first down at the Oakland 37-yard line.
9:50: Two Knowshon Moreno runs net another first down. On the next play, Orton finds Marshall again for yet another first down at the Oakland 16-yard line.
9:10: Buckhalter follows a Kuper block, hits the hole and sprints for an eight-yard gain on first down. On second down, Buckhalter barrells up the middle of the line down to the 1-yard line.
7:54: A false start backs the Broncos up five yards, and Moreno fights his way for two yards on first down, setting up 2nd-and-goal at the 4-yard line. Moreno fumbles the ball on second down but recovers it himself — a flag on the play is an offsides penalty on the Raiders, which makes it 2nd-and-goal on the 2-yard line.
6:00: Peyton Hillis pushes the pile foward to the 1-yard line, making it 3rd-and-goal for the Broncos at the Oakland 1-yard line. With the crowd at a frenzy, Hillis is dropped at the line of scrimmage and the Broncos have a decision to make on 4th-and-goal.
5:11: LaMont Jordan is short of the goal line on 4th-and-goal, and the Raiders take over on their own 1-yard line.
5:07: The defense looked to be fired up in the huddle before the Raiders’ second drive, and on the first play, Champ Bailey almost came up with an interception on a pass tipped up by an Oakland receiver.
4:53: Renaldo Hill comes away with an interception on second down after Russell tried to find Darrius Heyward-Bey downfield. The rookie tripped and Hill hauled in the pass, running it back 17 yards to the Oakland 23-yard line.
4:43: An end-around to Marshall picks up five yards on first down, and Orton takes the snap in the shotgun on second down before handing off to Moreno, who picks up four more yards. On 3rd-and-1 from the Oakland 14-yard line, Orton takes the snap and hands off to Moreno, who bursts his way forward for a first down at the 5-yard line.
2:11: A three-yard run by Buckhalter followed by Orton throwing the ball away after good Raiders coverage sets up a third-and-goal.
2:07: Marshall’s route finds him wide open in the end zone, and Orton finds him for a two-yard touchdown, Marshall’s first of the season. With the crowd silent, Prater’s extra point makes the score 7-0.
Broncos 7, Raiders 0
1:09: Prater’s kickoff is another touchback as it flies out of the back of the end zone. Oakland’s first play is a run for two yards — McFadden was met by a mass of Broncos defenders. On second down, McFadden finds a hole and picks up 15 yards on a cutback before being taken down by Hill.
0:48: On the very next play, Russell drops back and launches the ball downfield. It’s intercepted by Goodman, who runs it back 30 yards to the Oakland 34-yard line.
INJURY UPDATE: Alphonso Smith has an ankle injury. His return is questionable.
0:39: Two incompletions set up a 3rd-and-10 for the Broncos from the Oakland 34-yard line. The offense breaks the huddle and walks up to the line. Brandon Stokley is in the game at wide receiver, one of three receivers in the play. Royal takes the quick pass and tries to follow his blockers to pick up the first down, but he is stopped by Nnamdi Asomugha.
0:02: After a Denver timeout, Prater is lined up for a 48-yard field goal. It’s good, extending Denver’s lead as the first quarter comes to a close.
Broncos 10, Raiders 0
START OF SECOND QUARTER: Prater’s kickoff is about six yards deep in the end zone, but the Raiders elect to return it. Solid special teams tackling means Oakland will begin its drive at its own 14-yard line.
14:15: A three-yard run on first down is followed by an eight-yard pickup by McFadden on a pass from Russell, setting up an Oakland first down.
13:00: After Michael Bush gains six yards on first down for the Raiders, Peterson and Fields meet McFadden immediately on second down, setting up a 3rd-and-3. Russell’s pass is complete to Louis Murphy for a first down.
9:55: A holding penalty brings up 2nd-and-12 for the Raiders from their own 37-yard line. Russell seems to call an audible at the line and hands off to Bush, who finds his way forward to pick up nine yards. On third down, Murphy catches a pass from Russell and picks up 18 yards and a first down before being tackled by Dawkins.
8:55: Marcus Thomas leads the way for the defense on a stop of McFadden for no gain on the ensuring play. On second down, McFadden is gang tackled with Haggan leading the way. Haggan strips the ball, which is tipped in the air several times before Oakland recovers the McFadden fumble. That makes it 3rd-and-16.
7:25: Oakland calls its first timeout of the half. Afterward, Russell takes the snap in the shotgun and finds Zach Miller, who is dropped by a group of Broncos including Jack Williams and Wesley Woodyard before the first down. Sebastian Janikowski lines up for a 48-yard field goal, and kicks it home.
Broncos 10, Raiders 3
6:34: Royal finds a little room on the kickoff return after bringing it out of the end zone, taking it to the 21-yard line.
6:31: Buckhalter is in the backfield as the Broncos head back onto the field. He takes the handoff on first down and bursts up the sideline for a 34-yard gain.
4:25: After a false start, Orton finds Gaffney for an eight-yard gain to set up 2nd-and-7 at the Oakland 42-yard line. Buckhalter takes the handoff and runs up the middle for six yards. On 3rd-and-1, Moreno takes the carry and picks up the first down.
3:30: Orton drops back and finds Gaffney for another first down after a 14-yard pickup. On first down at the Oakland 21-yard line, Asomugha makes the tackle on Moreno in space before the rookie could create something near the sideline. Moreno still picked up three yards, however, and on second down Orton finds Gaffney yet again for a gain down to the 3-yard line.
TWO MINUTE WARNING: The Broncos have a first-and-goal from the 3-yard line on the other side of the break.
2:00: Orton takes the snap in the shotgun and hands off to Moreno, who is met immediately by Richard Seymour. On 2nd-and-goal, Denver calls a timeout before the play.
1:19: On 2nd-and-goal from the 3-yard line, the Broncos break the huddle and jog to the line. Orton is in the shotgun with Buckhalter at his side. Orton drops back and fires toward Peyton Hillis, who dives for the pass but it’s out of his reach. On third-and-goal, Orton is in the shotgun again. Gaffney goes in motion and Orton firest toward Royal — the pass is broken up by Michael Huff, however, and Prater jogs out to attempt the field goal on fourth down.
1:12: It’s a low snap, but Brett Kern recovers for the hold and Prater’s 21-yard field goal is good.
Broncos 13, Raiders 3
1:09: Prater’s kickoff is fielded at the front of the end zone, but Josh Barrett and Woodyard are there to take down the returner at the 16-yard line.
1:05: On first down, Russell drops back and drops it off to Bush, who finds four yards before being taken down. On second down he drops it off to Bush again, who is taken down immediately by Dumervil. Oakland calls a timeout with a 3rd-and-6 awaiting them on the other side of the break.
0:33: Russell takes the snap in the shotgun and is nearly sacked by Ronald Fields, but he avoids the pressure and finds Bush for a first down. With time running down, Russell scrambles toward the sideline and finds Miller for a first down at the Denver 43-yard line with two seconds remaining. The ruling on the field of a catch is being reviewed.
0:04: The pass is ruled incomplete, as Miller’s left foot came down out of bounds. With the ball back at the Raiders 28-yard line, Russell takes the snap and hands off to Bush, who is brought down by Vonnie Holliday to end the first half.
END OF FIRST HALF: Denver leads Oakland at halftime, 13-3. See you in the second-half live blog.

How did Cutler hear about the trade talks anyways?.
i would like us to hold the ball the rest of the quarter get a td and go in up 17 to 3
it was still a pick stats dont say int but not qb’s fault
i thought the glove was supposed to be gone today?
good thing we got more reciever talent. we can afford to let royal return. but i will say one thing. cutler utilized our recievers alot last year. I can still remember those awesume royal and marshall plays.
No Phonso, Dang.
With Hillis not getting the return duties this week, I think McD is saving him for something difficult later in the game.
glove was uspposed to be gone last week but, stil with us. lets not rush it i guess. lets call it his good luck charm lol
Yay bucky sauce!
GO BUCK!
Go Bucky Go Bucky Go Bucky GO!
That wasnt just Cutler, it was the offense that Mike was running. This is a different style of offense this year.
buckhalter did something? my feed is mad slow lol
Some great passes last year, but my strongest memories are the INTs he threw in the last few games.
i love how buckhalter is running all out all the time
hahahaha bucky sauce.
wasted PA. bad move marshall but we still in it
XD
yay bucky sauce!!
my hero!
How about a longball?.
Buckhalter was definitely a great pick up.
i keep hearing about buckhalter my feeed is soooooooo slow lol
Now
What i like about moreno is how he always picks up another yard by twisting and falling forward.
buckhalter used to carry eagles cuz westbrook got hurt alot. he definitely had starter potential like michael turner and sproles
Gotta be careful with the longball, we really havent seen Orton go too deep yet.
Guys notice orton throws like peyton manning?
no need for a long ball yet trying to control the clock
lol moreno seems like a little kid just having fun out there. So much energy
Yeah Moreno is doing a tough job well right now.
Awesome!
Orton is doing a great job.
okay boys, lets hammer it in now. right up the middle. smash mouth football
lmao…way too many wr talent man…they are sooooooooo lost on who to cover lol
Guys one thing that makes me feel great is the way sd and raiders game palyed out. SD didnt look well at all against the raiders.
Really like the Buckhalter-Moreno duo. Good vision, great speed and the endurance to push through 60 min.
I think SD is over rated =-/
you guys notice how seymour is doing NOTHING against Clady?
run it on the first play use up some clock i would like to see moreno get his first td against the faiders he would never forget it
i forgot seymour was playing
too much running…please. quick sheffler pass or something
okay we tried the run change it now.
Yes Sir, Clady Is The Man. Not That Much Pressure On Orton. Our Line Is Doing A Great Job Too.
all you gotta do inside the 5 is a toss play
Did you miss the two passes up the middle to Gaffney?
I hope we get a td here we need it.
How About A Bootleg?.
MN we know, we mean in the red zone….just one pass try
I think he’s referring to running the ball everytime on the goaline and getting stuffed. Not running in general during the game
