On second down, Rodgers hits Donald Driver for a 7-yard pickup, bringing up third-and-8. Rodgers then connects with Jennings past the marker for another first down. Rodgers avoids the rush and throws the ball away on first down. Rodgers’ second-down pass goes off the hands of James Jones and is intercepted by Jonathan Wilhite. Green Bay is challenging the play.

i got a lil bored so was goin through all the season stats.. orton was tied for 1st in a section for QBs!! Most ints so far this season…… besides that he is typically in the lower half of QBs

  2. WieminCA says:

Actually, McD did game plan brilliantly – look back and see how many first drives went for a TD last year … but then he couldn’t adapt (or was too bull-headed to) when the opposition changed their defense … note, though, that he’s got it even worse this year …

  3. boogeyman417 says:

Time to show these guys who pays the bills.

BOYCOTT THE GAMES TILL ORTON GETS BENCHED!!!

  4. broncochick1 says:

WiemanCA you are right our talent is subpar. I completely agree, but I think you would agree that a franchise quarterback is necessary to be a championship team. Who is your favorite to win the Super Bowl this year WiemanCA and who is their quarterback? Like John Elway said it’s the most important position on the field, and I agree. We need a leader and we need to build talent around our franchise quarterback.

I am not mad at Fox yet either WiemanCA. In fact, I think he deserves at least a couple of years in the system and to get that talent (and hopefully a franchise QB) around him.

  5. sndvl says:

From the end of the 2nd quarter till after the opening drive in the 3rd, the Broncos offense (Kyle Orton) didn’t throw a pass for 45 minutes. Hmmmm…

  6. whitetiger_007 says:

Ok, so I do stand corrected. Orton did not go to the Broncos and ask for a trade in 2010. I had read it on a Bleacher Report article awhile back, but indeed according to multiple other sources, multiple in fact, McDaniels wanted to trade Orton, following the 2010 draft.

    – According to Woody Paige, McDaniels was set to trade his starting quarterback Kyle Orton after the draft but the “Broncos brass ruled against it.” –

That is one of many. Interesting enough though, is more depth into the QQ. Elway and Fox were not this “Broncos brass” mentioned by Woody Paige. Going off of what we were told in the off season, it is quite possible that Elway and Fox were not sold on Orton either coming in, but due to every thing stated in the QQ discussions, were forced to stay the course they were given.

As far as 2011, the Dolphins following up on the trade rumor mill from 2010 contacted the Denver Broncos and inquired about a Kyle Orton trade in 2011. When a 2nd round draft pick was put on the table, they backed out. The high draft pick was the leading cause of failed negotiations allegedly. The exact terms of the trade were never released due to the trade not being executed.

Tim Tebow, Roger Staubach Are One In The Same, Says Dan Reeves

    http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2011/10/2/2465102/tim-tebow-roger-staubach-dan-reeves-interview

    Article content:
“Dan Reeves said that Tim Tebow is “the closest thing to Roger (Staubach) I’ve seen in a quarterback.”

Staubach “didn’t want to get beaten by anybody. Tebow’s that type of winner,” Reeves told me Saturday in a phone conversation from his home in Georgia.”

“When I watched that ESPN show last year about Tebow’s workouts, it was like seeing Roger. Tebow’s throwing technique is criticized. Roger carried the ball low too, because he was a scrambler and had to wind up to throw. He was a great passer. I’ve seen Tebow make the passes.”

  8. broncochick1 says:

Actually, the issue with Miami was that they couldn’t come to a contractual agreement with Orton because they didn’t want to pay him $9,000,000 this year. It was too much money for a guy who was going to compete for a job against Chad Henne. At least that’s what I read and why would Orton take less than $9,000,000 for this year? It was a simple business decision for him.

  9. broncochick1 says:

And as far as Woody Paige’s speculation on 2010 I can’t say, but I can tell you as a reporter Mr. Paige has had his credibility questioned. Did you know he started a political columnist and then was ‘demoted’ to sports for ‘bad’ journalism. Look that up for giggles some time.

  10. Ty-one-on says:

I apologize, I just realized that was a shortened version of the article below that was posted on The Denver Post earlier today. I’m sure most of you read it by now.

  11. TwoGunz says:

Wow, the Broncos Country is making alot of gammatical errors tonight which makes it really hard to read everyones blogs. LoL They need spell check on this thing. Anyways I agree with Tnalen66, this all started with losing Mike Shanahan cuz of Pat Bowlen.

As far as the quaterack situation I think that Ortan’s trash and would rather any other QB playin over him. Regardless though Ima Bronco Fan for life.

If we’re gonna suck this year, I say we do it with style, put Tebow or Adam Webber in!!!Go Broncos!

  12. gobroncos11 says:

Cmon John E. You built the team up along time ago. You were not the greatest QB when you started. But you had the heart and the love for the game. Why would you not give Tebow a shot. The quicker you start over the quicker you can start rebuilding this team and go on to a winning championship. What would it hurt honestly. Give in to your heart and the fans also. WIN WIN how I see it.

  13. millerqbkiller says:

kyle orton is a disaster how bad do you have to do to get benched anymore

  14. millerqbkiller says:

i wanna know what the hell orton has done in the past and this season to make our coaching staff say he gives us the best chance to win. he has as many turnovers as tds this year and his record in the last year is terrible

  15. Ty-one-on says:

But Fox thinks Orton’s da’bomb millerqbkiller.

And as long as Lloyd gets his yards and receptions he’ll think it too. Winning be damned.

  16. millerqbkiller says:

orton isnt a bad qb all the time just most of the time the guy looks nothing like a athlete more like he should be doing our taxes what a doink

  17. RabidOrange says:

I’m not quite ready to give my take on the actual game, yet. I’m still too ticked off, though not for the obvious reason. Anyway, I have been reading the past hundred and fifty or so posts to try to make sure I don’t rehash, and in doing so I had a thought. Yes, a single thought in all that reading. lol. I agree with the whole, Start Tebow, see what he can do, and possibly draft the franchise QB in April. Recently, there has been a lot of discussion on these blogs about contracts and escalators and all sorts of financial mumbo jumbo. These things could well be the case. However, I submit that the organization needs to give Tebow this season now to avoid the hipocracy.

Hippocracy? How are they being hippocrites? Well, they say that Tebow isn’t ready. But seriously, if our outstanding trio of misfit QBs is gone after this season, and we score, say Kellen Moore, or another like QB (not Luck, we won’t be that Lucky), he’ll start for sure. What if he struggles? Naturally, the org. will say something akin to “well, he just needs to learn and get some experience.” Hmmmm….. I, for one, will be furious because that’s all we are asking them to do with Tebow. Do in now, with a season that’s looking like a wash. Confirm your doubts or be pleasantly surprised. Look to the future, because, while we will all still be fans, I will suspect the lie in anything the muckety mucks up topside say if the above scenario comes to pass…

Ok, sorry for the rant. Semper Broncos!!!!

  18. jdoms24 says:

orton has not proven to be a quality qb in the nfl. now is the time to let tebow play!!!!! better to get him the experience this season then at the begining of next season.

  19. millerqbkiller says:

that was a good rant but totally valid everyone is afraid they will have to swallow there words about tebow if he does good so as long as he isnt playing they are avoiding it

  20. RabidOrange says:

Yep, and by not playing him, they are sacrificing their credibility. If they start a rookie next season and he has a rough time, they have to back him. There will be no – he’s not NFL ready, he can wait. I hope that what everyone has been saying for the past few days is correct, and that as soon as the contract escalators aren’t an issue, Tim will be in there firing up the team.

  21. millerqbkiller says:

this has nothing to do with anything but why havnt we let eron riley play in eddie royals absence didnt that guy not have a killer preseason! riley looks badass to me.

  22. tnalen66 says:

We are not going to make the playoffs so play Tebow and see if we need to draft a QB. If we released Orton would we have to pay him? Save the money and play Tebow or Quinn or Webb.

  23. RabidOrange says:

They won’t pull Riley off of the practice squad because they’d have to make room for him on the roster. The only way he makes it is if one of the starting WRs gets a season-ender and is placed on IR and another gets hurt and misses game time. They don’t think Riley’s upside is better that what we’d have to cut to pull him off the PS.

  24. millerqbkiller says:

tim tebow is a winner and he got the broncos all jacked up to play those 3 games he started last year. And anyone who has the balls to say to there head coach, only one guy touches the ball right here “meaning himself” and backs it up by scoring a game winning rush td is awsome. orton would never do anything close to that

  25. tnalen66 says:

Before we traded down to get Cutler we never drafted 12th or lower and now we are drafting there all the time with very little luck.

  26. millerqbkiller says:

why could we make room for quan cosby but not riley whats the diff

  27. Ty-one-on says:

Your 10:30 post…That’s exactly why I like Tebow millerqbkiller.

  28. tnalen66 says:

Put Thomas on the IR cuz he is always hurt anyway. A waisted 1st round pick. Dez Bryant had more TDs today than Thomas will have all year.

  29. jdoms24 says:

but as long as there is a qb switch soon i would be would be pleased. because i am so sick and tired of kyle orton shooting us in the foot and gets us blown out.and winning a game into the 4th and losing the lead simply because he cant run the offense good enough to help control the clock and actually give the defense a decent breather on the sidelines

  30. millerqbkiller says:

why couldnt denver have just excepted a third round pick from the dolphins for orton. it woulda been great tebow would be starting and we could use a good pick in next years draft its not like we didnt get eric decker in the third round

  31. jdoms24 says:

this is totally off topic but decker is the man just hope he doesnt decide to leave the team in a season or two because he is so sick of having a mediocore qb throwing to him

  32. thecladybunch says:

Seem’s to me Decker is very happy to have Orton throwing to him, he’s killing it…

  33. RabidOrange says:

I’m not sure who went to make room for Cosby. When we signed Rosario, we waived Mike Mohammed, tho. EFX must have seen more upside to Cosby’s play and experience than what they saw from Riley…

  34. thecladybunch says:

Off subject also, but was it just me or did it seem like some excessive celebration by Rogers on a few scores….wish Dawkins would have gotten more of him on that TD run…

  35. thecladybunch says:

and I thought the Broncos had problems, could be worse you could be Bernard Berrian….sheeesh enough with the tweets when your 0-4

  36. O&BinCostaRica says:

love the guys that pop up on game day or the day after to tell the regulars that we aren’t fans. Where are you the rest of the week?

Anyway change is needed offensively. Right now, lots of people demand a change to even buy tickets.

Be careful, EFX, someone needs to grow a pair.

    Bench Orton
    Bench Orton
    Bench 0rt0n… Zeroes.

    PLEASE!

  37. daddybronc says:

I think I guessed how the game would go pretty well in my predictions before the game. I predicted a 42-3 blowout.

My surprises are that Orton was a little better than I expected in that he did throw a couple a perfect passes to Decker as red-zone plays. I was also a little surprised at how badly Orton under-threw Lloyd on several of those passes when Lloyd had outrun the defense. I was surprised that Orton could perform that horribly when the O-Lines seems to get him a more solid pocket week by week.

I was surprised that Denver actually had a running game against a top ranked run defense. Kudos to McGahee – and my apologies cuz I’ve bagged on him a bit. I think that I saw significant improvement of offensive control of the line of scrimmage. The pocket held against what was a real challenge. These things give me real optimism going on into the future. Go Broncos!

The defense went about like I thought and predicted. It was encouraging to see the defense able to hold early in the 1st quarter – but frankly, no defense can sustain very well against that A. Rodgers passing attack. That was artistry in the air. The Denver defense really did pretty well against the run with GB only breaking loose for a few long ones. They would have done better had they been able to get a few more breaths along the sidelines.

It looked to me like the Tebow play was designed to make Tebow look foolish to the fanbase. The O-line made no effort on that play to open a hole for Tebow. I take this as a clear statement that Fox and McCoy have chosen to sacrifice the Tebow career. I don’t know what Tebow will have to do to win over Fox. ???

  38. O&BinCostaRica says:

So, listening to Fox post game, Orton needs experience? BS.
