Q3 15:00: Matt Prater’s kickoff is downed in the end zone for a touchback to start the half.
Q3 14:41: Philadelphia starts its drive with a 25-yard gain to the 45-yard line on a pass from Donovan McNabb to Jeremy Maclin. On second down, however, McNabb has a long time to throw and tries to loft a pass to DeSean Jackson, but Champ Bailey jumps the route and intercepts it. Denver will take over at midfield.
Q3 13:54: Knowshon Moreno carries for four yards on first down into Philadelphia territory, and an Eagle is down after the play. He walks off the field with the help of trainers — it was defensive tackle Brodrick Bunkley. On second down, Kyle Orton is in the shotgun. he drops back and fires to Brandon Marshall, who avoids his first tackler and picks up yardage for a first down.
Q3 13:09: Philadelphia is called for a personal foul — 15 yards for a facemask by Trent Cole — giving the Broncos a first down at the 22-yard line. On the next play, Orton fakes a handoff to Moreno and fires to Marshall for a quick two-yard gain. On second down, Orton fakes a handoff to Moreno and fires again to Marshall for a first down.
Q3 11:30: Moreno takes the direct snap in the “Wild Horse” formation and picks up two yards on first down. On second down, Marshall gets a quick pass and gets inside the 10-yard line, but a penalty pushes the ball back — too many players in motion at the same time. That makes it 2nd-and-13, and Buckhalter is back in at running back. Orton fires to Tony Scheffler, but the tight end bobbles it and it is nearly intercepted after he tips it in the air.
Q3 10:30: On third down, Orton gets it to Daniel Graham, but he is hit hard and taken down at the 15-yard line. Now Prater is in to attempt a 33-yard field goal. It is up and in, and the Broncos narrow the Philadelphia lead.
EAGLES 20, BRONCOS 10
Q3 9:42: Prater’s kickoff is fielded for a touchback, so the Eagles will take over at their own 20-yard line.
Q3 9:14: LeSean McCoy picks up 11 yards before being knocked down by Brian Dawkins. On the ensuing first down, McNabb tries to find Leonard Weaver, but D.J. Williams is there in tight coverage to force an incompletion. Mario Haggan takes down McCoy after a gain of four yards, and the Eagles are faced with a 3rd-and-6. On a deep pass intended for DeSean Jackson, Champ Bailey is called for pass interference, giving Philadelphia a first down at the 24-yard line.
Q3 7:21: After a four-yard run and an incomplete pass, the Eagles have a third down. McNabb throws an incompletion under pressure, but there is a flag on the field. Once again it is on the Broncos — illegal hands to the face — which gives Philadelphia a first down. That’s the fourth first down the Eagles have been given on a penalty.
Q3 7:09: On the ensuing first down, McNabb fires a pass that is tipped by Renaldo Hill, but Jason Avant finds a way to haul it in anyway as he falls down in the end zone for a touchdown. The extra point is up and in.
EAGLES 27, BRONCOS 10
Q3 7:04: Alphonso Smith is back deep to receive the kickoff. The rookie takes it out a few yards past the 20-yard line — officially the 23-yard line.
Q3 6:59: On first down, Orton is forced to thrown an incompletion near Graham’s feet under pressure. On second down, Denver is called for a false start, backing up the line of scrimmage five yards. On 2nd-and-15 at the 18-yard line, Orton fakes a handoff to Moreno before being sacked at the 11-yard line. That makes it 3rd-and-22, and the play is a screen pass to Buckhalter. The former Eagle follows his blockers and bursts for the first down 33 yards later.
Q3 5:33: Orton finds Scheffler on the ensuing play for another first down at the Philadelphia 30-yard line — a 26-yard gain. On the next first down, Orton fires deep to the front left of the end zone under pressure, but there isn’t a receiver close. The quarterback is called for intentional grounding, making it 2nd-and-20 at the 40-yard line.
Q3 5:06: An Eagle was down after the play — cornerback Sheldon Brown — and he walks off the field flanked by trainers. The game resumes and Orton fires a pass toward the end zone with Scheffler streaking down the sideline — but Asante Samuel leaps into the air and grabs an interception before streaking back down the field into Denver territory. There is a flag on the field after the play.
Q3 4:51: Two fouls are enforced against Philadelphia after the interception. It is still the Eagles’ ball, but a 15-yard penalty on Macho Harris for launching himself into Scheffler is followed by a 5-yard penalty on Samuel for spiking the ball after the interception. Since the personal foul occured at the 4-yard line, it’s half the distance to the goal to the 2-yard line, then another half-the-distance penalty, so Philadelphia starts its drive at the 1-yard line.
Q3 4:11: McNabb fumbles the snap on first down but recovers it at the 1-yard line. Two incomplete passes later, Philadelphia punter Sav Rocca is forced to operate from the back of his own end zone. Alphonso Smith is back deep to return. He gets it to the Philadelphia 30-yard line after the 40-yard punt, but there’s a flag on the play.
Q3 3:57: A five-yard penalty on Philadelphia is marked off at the end of the run, so Denver takes over at the 25-yard line. On first down, Orton hands off to Moreno, who is dropped by two Eagles behind the line of scrimmage.
Q3 3:14: On second down, Orton finds Gaffney for a six-yard gain, and Russ Hochstein is down after the play.
Q3 3:10: Hochstein walks off the field flanked by trainers, and the Broncos have a 3rd-and-5. Orton finds Brandon Lloyd for an 8-yard gain and a first down at the 12-yard line. On the next play, he completes a pass to Marshall for a quick five-yard gain.
Q3 2:00: On 2nd-and-5, Orton gets it to Gaffney for the receiver’s second touchdown of the day. Prater’s extra point is up and in, and the gap is narrowed once again.
EAGLES 27, BRONCOS 17
Q3 1:42: This marks Gaffney’s first multi-touchdown game of his career. Prater’s kick is fielded at the 1-yard line, and Darrell Reid drills Macho Harris with an enormous hit, which forces a fumble. The Broncos recover the fumble and will take over at the Philadelphia 16-yard line.
Q3 1:16: On first down, Orton finds Marshall, but the receiver is tackled for no gain. On second down, Orton drops back and quickly finds Moreno in the middle of the field. The rookie sprints into the end zone for a touchdown, then sprints to the sideline to celebrate with Buckhalter. Prater’s extra point is up and in, and the Broncos pull to within three.
EAGLES 27, BRONCOS 24
**INJURY REPORT Hochstein has a knee injury, and is out for the remainder of the game.
Q3 0:53: McNabb’s pass is knocked down by Le Kevin Smith on first down. It was an attempted screen pass for Brian Westbrook. On second down, McNabb is in the shotgun. He takes the snap and is brought down by Vonnie Holliday for the sack. As the clock ticks down in the third quarter, the Eagles are faced with a 3rd-and-16 at their own 14-yard line. Renaldo Hill blitzes in for a third-down sack — a loss of four — to bring up a 4th-and-20 for Philadelphia at its own 10-yard line. That also brings the third quarter to a close.
Q4 14:48: Alphonso Smith is back deep to receive Rocca’s punt. He returns the 60-yard punt 21 yards to the Philadelphia 49-yard line. On first down, Orton is sacked trying to avoid pressure. That sets up 2nd-and-16 for Denver at its own 45-yard line. The ensuing play is a screen pass set up for Lloyd, who is tackled behind the line of scrimmage — a loss of two. That makes it 3rd-and-18, and the crowd is on its feet. Orton is in the shotgun, and the defense is called for a neutral zone infraction. Now it is 3rd-and-13 at the Denver 48-yard line. Orton is still in the shotgun, and the crowd is back on its feet. The quarterback launches downfield for Marshall, but the pass is broken up by Shelden Brown.
Q4 12:58: Mitch Berger punts 32 yards, and DeSean Jackson calls for a fair catch at the 20-yard line.
Q4 12:22: On first down, McNabb hands off to Weaver, who fights through some tackles before being tackled after two yards. McNabb’s pass is incomplete intended for Jackson on second down, setting up 3rd-and-8. McNabb is in the shotgun, and after nearly being sacked by Dumervil, lofts a pass toward Jackson. Champ Bailey dives in to break up the pass at the last second, however, forcing a punt. Bailey is down after the play, however.
Q4 12:09: Bailey walks off the field flanked by trainers, and Smith is back to return the punt. There are flags on the play after the 49-yard punt. It’s a personal foul for a facemask on the Eagles, moving the start of the drive to the Denver 47-yard line.
Q4 11:59: On first down, Buckhalter takes a carry for about three yards. On second down, Orton finds Gaffney, who turns outside and sets up a 3rd-and-2 at the Philadelphia 45-yard line. Orton avoids pressure and fires to a sliding Lloyd, who can’t haul it in. Berger is in to punt, and Jackson awaits inside his 10-yard line. Berger skies it and Jackson calls for a fair catch at the 19-yard line.
Q4 10:50: McNabb is in the shotgun on first down with Westbrook to his left. It’s a handoff to the running back, who is tackled by Holliday after a gain of two. On second down, the Eagles change formation and McNabb tries to throw downfield to Maclin, but Andre’ Goodman is there to help break it up and the ball squirts loose as the receiver hits the ground. Philadelphia calls its first timeout of the half.
Q4 10:00: On 3rd-and-9, McNabb drops back in the shotgun and finds Reggie Brown, but it’s short of the first down. That brings a punt on 4th-and-1 from the 28-yard line. The punt sails out of bounds at the Denver 44-yard line — a 28-yard punt.
Q4 9:30: A 5-yard pickup by Moreno on a first-down screen pass is followed by a Moreno run, which picks up three more yards. Now it’s 3rd-and-2 at the Philadelphia 48-yard line. Orton is in the shotgun, and Denver calls its first timeout of the half.
Q4 8:40: Orton avoids pressure and finds Gaffney yet again, who gets down to the Philadelphia 30-yard line for a first down. On the next play, Orton quickly fires to Lloyd, who dives forward for a yard. That makes it 2nd-and-9, and Orton gets it to Marshall, but the receiver is tackled behind the line of scrimmage.
Q4 6:50: On 3rd-and-13 at the 33-yard line, Orton is in the shotgun. He gets it to Buckhalter as he is nearly sacked, and the running back scrambles to the 28-yard line. It’s not a first down, but it shortens the Prater field goal attempt. The kicker is on the field for a 46-yard attempt — and it sails through the middle of the uprights to tie the game.
BRONCOS 27, EAGLES 27
Q4 5:57: David Bruton forces a fumble on the kickoff return, but the Eagles recover, and they will begin their drive at the 30-yard line. McNabb fakes a handoff and looks downfield, but Dumervil streaks into the backfield for his second sack of the day. He now owns the Broncos’ single-season franchise record for sacks with 17.
Q4 5:21: A false start penalty on the Eagles makes it 2nd-and-25 from the 15-yard line. McNabb is in the shotgun, and Dumervil bull rushes his blocker into the quarterback to knock him down as he lets a pass fly. The pass is high and incomplete out of bounds, bringing up third down. On third down, he scrambles out of the pocket, picks up 27 yards on a run and sets up a first down at the Philadelphia 42-yard line.
Q4 4:21: A two-yard run by Westbrook is followed by an incomplete pass intended for Maclin. That makes it 3rd-and-8 at the 44-yard line, and McNabb is in the shotgun. He completes it to Maclin, but it looks to be short of the first-down marker. The crowd is clamoring for the offense to stay on the field on 4th-and-1, but Rocca is in to punt.
Q4 3:08: A flag comes before the punt for delay of game, but the refs waive it off, saying, “We were a little slow spotting the ball for fourth down.” After the punt, the Broncos have a first down at their own 9-yard line.
Q4 3:00: Buckhalter picks up one yard on first down. On second down, Orton drops back into the shotgun. He finds Lloyd for a first down, but a flag is down — holding on the Broncos. Half the distance to the goal, 2nd-and-14.
Q4 2:18: Orton finds Gaffney again, but the receiver is taken down at the 10-yard line, making it 3rd-and-9 on the other side of the two-minute warning.
Q4 2:00: Orton is in the shotgun on 3rd-and-9. He takes the snap, drops back, avoids pressure and then scrambles out of the pocket and tries to pick up the first down on a run. He’s short of the first down, but there’s a flag on the play — holding on the offense. The penalty is declined, fourth down. Berger is in to punt. It is fielded by Jackson, but there is a flag on the field — but then it’s picked up by the refs, so the Eagles have a 1st-and-10 at the Denver 42-yard line.
Q4 1:05: After a two-yard run by McCoy, McNabb takes the snap in shotgun. He fires for Maclin, but it is ruled incomplete. The booth elects to challenge it, however.
Q4 0:59: The refs overturn the call and give the Eagles a first down at the 13-yard line after the completion. Westbrook takes a carry but is brought down immediately, then Denver call its second timeout of the half.
Q4 0:52: On second down, Weaver picks up three yards and Denver call its final timeout of the game. Philadelphia has a 3rd-and-7 at the 10-yard line.
Q4 0:07: McNabb takes the third down snap and takes a knee in the middle of the field for no gain, bringing up fourth down. Philadelphia calls a timeout, and David Akers it on to attempt a field goal.
Q4 0:04: Akers hits the 28-yard field goal and the eagles lead the game by three.
EAGLES 30, BRONCOS 27
Q4 0:00: The game is over after the Broncos attempt a few laterals on the kickoff return, but the game comes to a close after a Bronco is tackled out of bounds. Denver falls to 8-7, and the Kansas City Chiefs head to INVESCO Field at Mile High for the regular-season finale.

URGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks, Gray, for now all I want to say is I am very proud of the team for the effort they put forth today, they gave it their all, regardless of the medical ward that was going on and the killer defensive penalties. Even McD opened it up at times.
Unfortunately it most likely is the case of too little too late, we are now relying on a prayer to make the playoffs since both the Jets and Pittsburgh won. But we all knwew that, discussed it at length all week, this was the game we had to have after losing last week to the Raiders and if we don’t make the playoffs, which I definitely don’t see that happenning, odds are way against us, I will look back to the games that we really blew it on this year, against SD at home, at Washington and at home against the Raiders, those are the games for which we should of come out with the intensity and desire and coaching that we came out with today, that’s why I was so mad after those losses.
But today, you gave it our all and I bet the players and the coaches feel even more stupid than us fans do, at least they should, now that they realize they let the season slip away on the must win games I mentioned earlier, just one of those three as a win and we would be in the playoffs with a win next week, but now it’s a different story, a win will most likely still have us watch either the Jets, Pittsburgh or Baltimore take the two wild cards, they all have the tie breaker on us and I don’t think Baltimore will lose at Oakland, Oakland will play for a higher draft pick and the last thing Al Davis wants to do is help us get in the playoffs, and the Jets shall beat Cinci at home because Cinci clinched their division today and can not move up in the seeding if they win and the Jets control their destiny and are in if they win, so hasta luego, post season aspiration. At least that’s the way I see it.
Last thing to find out, are we going to be one better than last year record wise, we need a win for that, otherwise my 8-8 pick for this year will be right on, unfortunately. A season of ups and down, too bad the team and coaches didn’t realize what were the must win games, the ones we had to have to reach our goals, tough lesson to learn. I can say I’m twice as old as most of those guys, so I happen to pick up on stuff like that way before they do, too bad, I couldn’t do anything about it, tried my hardest but couldn’t instill that sense of urgency into them back when it was needed. Well, experience does amount to something, here is to hoping they will gain a lot of experience from this for next year. You all played great today, you can hold your heads high, but as far as the whole season is concerned you have so much to learn ahead of you, I’ll still be following you like the die hard fan I am, and when I tell you it’s a must win game, no matter when it is in the season, odds are I’m right, I know you read these posts and you should, there is a lot of good stuff in here, a lot of junk too, but plenty of stuff worthy of paying attention to. I’m not even going to pray this week, whatever happens will happen but in my head and in my heart I know Sunday is the last game of the year I’ll see you play. I’ll miss it big time until next September that’s for sure.
I am tired of this team always faltering towards the end of the season, first last year we became the first team in NFL history to have a 3 game lead with 3 games leave and lose the division and the playoffs. Then this year we start the season 6-0, by the way no team in NFL history that has started 6-0 has ever missed the playoffs and if the Broncos lose to KC next Sunday we will be sitting at home again this year. Another new coach, same crap! When is this team going to wake up? Coach Shanahan lost his job and I am not sure he should have!
Kitty, even if we beat KC next week the odds are stocked up against us to make the playoffs, just don’t see that happening… read the third paragraph of my above post to see what needs to happen if we win for us to get in.
I’ll do the prediction results in the morning, I am not peppy enough to do it now.
Lastly, we will not see the same team next year, especally on D as most of our D in almost ready to get their ticket to the nursing home. Another “Rebuilding year next year, then a new coach in 2012. GUARENTEED.
broncomvp24, those press conferences are worthless at this point, I did enjoy them through the year, but now I think attending church and pray might be more constructive than listening to those. LOL. It doesn’t matter what they do anymore, it’s what three other teams do that matters, well of course that’s if they beat KC, and that’s not even a sure thing, because THEY HAVE NOT WON A SINGLE DIVISION GAME AT HOME THIS SEASON YET.
I’m ready to fire McD, or at least relieve him from play calling duties. We should hire an offensive coordinator that used to work in a bingo hall…. cuz hey, it’s worked for the Redskins.
All of my X-mas gifts were some type of broncos gear. I kept all of the gift reciepts so I can return them and get something else, I will not support (by spending more money) the team any longer. That is, until they start making it worth my while. I have to listen to all of the chargers fans who are as arrogant as their stupid QB so I will no waste my money, or let others waste it. Once the team is going in the direction of UP then I will consider investing my money once again, but their stock is falling and it is time to invest elsewhere for the time being.
broncoxxx#24, it’s funny, all season long right here I have questioned the worth of Moreno, and just about everyone here gave me hell about it, I guess now I’m no longer the lone ranger in the matter. LOL.
This years D +Last years O = Colts
No. 83, gald to see someone who kept his sense of humor, hilarious.
Moreno is a good rb for some situations, but not the way McD is using him. I was glad to see Hillis a time or two, but he was still not used enough. Moreno is not big enough to create his own holes and once the o-line is upgraded a bit, he will b better.
I don’t really understand it, but it looks like we are still in it at the #5 seed according to CBS Sports. We only need to beat the Chiefs next week and we’re in. Here’s the link. This should be accurate as all AFC teams have finished their games this week already. Cowboys – Redskins playing now and Vikings – Bears play tomorrow.
http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/standings/playoffrace
Maybe, we could hire Shanny as a play caller…
NBC has Jets Bal as 5 nd 6
Well a valiant effort but we fell short…if we are destined to make playoffs, everything will fall in place next week and if we are not…well…we are not
DST fought hard…Offense was weak (as usual)….our run game was non existent and pass game was predictable and painful to watch. Orton is not a QB…just a guy that throws the ball…lol…ok im being a bit harsh…wasnt all his fault…our Offense as a whole didnt perform….Wont criticize McD but i woulda gone for it on 4th even tho it was in our territory for the simple fact that we were so close to our endzone…any punt would be 10 yards away from field goal range even without a return and all they would have to do was burn time and get in range…woulda gone for it…it is what it is
later all….
So Sunday Night football play off pictures has the Broncos out of the wild card race, but ESPN and NFL.com has them at the 5th seed. So…yeah guess we’ll find out tomorrow where we really stand.
NFL has us as 6 playing the bengles.
ILL EXPLAIN THE CURRENT PLAYOFF PICTURE BECAUSE PEOPLE HAD A LONG CONVO ABOUT IT IN THE PLAYOFF PICTURE ARTICLE ON NFL.COM
We are currently the 5th seed because tiebreakers dont get applied until the end of the season…the complete end of the regular season.
Adam Shefter already said….Ravens beat Raiders, they are in, Jets beat Cincy they are in….Broncos, Houston and Steelers need help….
All we can do is go out and play ball.
Oh, and the comment on NFL.com’s playoff picture is “Does it even matter if the broncos make it to the post season?” WTF
I have us sitting at home watching other teams play starting January 4th.
broncofanlvnm, I don’t understand the chart, because as I understand it the first tie breaker to make the wild card is the head to head if applicable, and both Baltimore and Pittsburgh have beaten us so they should hold that tie breaker. I’m going to have to research this some more, I hope it’s correct, but I just don’t get it.
TRB, thanks for clarifying, so what I said in the third paragraph of my 8:28pm post is still correct as far as I can tell.
WAS laid a goose egg… Maybe we can get Zorn to call our plays, he will be without a job starting January 4th.
yeah im not understandin the difference in the shows either are we 5th or 7th? nbc got us 7th and nfl.com and nfl net got us 5th
can anyone explain?
Yup baylin…
your assumptions are correct…head to head is the first tie breaker….(I personally think this is ridiculous….think this should be the last tie breaker when all else fails)
But essentially, we need to win and everyone else lose lmao…but seriouisly we need to win and have 2 of these 3 lose (BAL, NYJ, PIT)
I personally doubt Ravens lose to the Raiders but anything is possible. I am banking on us winning… and the JETS losing to CINCY and PITS losing to Miami.
PITS wouldnt be a factor if the RAVENS had just handled bizness and Jets wouldnt be a factor IF THE UNDEFEATED COLTS WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST THAT….UNDEFEATED…Unfreakingbelievable lol
A word of warning, don’t get all hyped up about us being the 5th seed on all the playoff scenarios, that’s only because they don’t account for all the tie breaker procedures until the completion of the last week as TRB said above, like the head to head tie breaker, which is most likely how we will miss the playoffs. Just saying.
We need to win, which we won’t. If we did, then we still won’t make the playoffs because we loose all tiebreakers. So to sum it up, Here’s lookin at the 2010-2011 season…
Gardenstatebroncosfan,
Explained it a few paragraphs up. The ones that have us set at 7th place are already adding the tie breakers….NFL.COM/THE NFL period on the other hand doesn’t add tie breakers till the regular season is COMPLETELY OVER so thats why we are in 5th over there.
Thx for explaining it again Baylin…Im sure we will both be explaining this over and over throughout the week lol
Make it easy on yourselves then, reply, NO PLAYOFFS, NO HOW.
TRB, like I said no way the Raiders win over Baltimore to get a worse draft pick and get us in the playoffs, Al Davis hates us, and no way the Jets lose to Cinci because Cinci has clinched their division and cannot improve into a bye week seed, plus the Jets win and they are in. IMO, only Pittsburgh has a shot at losing at Miami, but that won’t do any good if Baltimore and the Jets win as I believe they will. Sorry….
Like I stated earlier, when we have to have other teams loose for us to make the playoffs, there is no way it will happen.
I wanna see a saints, indy sb
So then NBC must be taking into account the tie breakers as of now with their seedings. This is they way other networks should do it IMAO. What a bunch of BS.
For those who believe in destiny and fate
Everything has said we shouldn’t make post season this season. To start 6-0 and then win only 2 of our next 9 games….to come close to beating colts and lose…to lose to the raiders last second…to comeback against the Eagles but fall short….all of these scenarios as they have played out prove the Broncos were not destined to make the playoffs this year……For those who believe in that stuff of course lol.
For all the ones who like the position we are listed at in the playoff scenario on NFL.com, make a copy, that probably will be the last you’ll see our colors in there. LOL.
FOR THE FIVE TEAMS TIED AT 8-7:
RAVENS win AFC North tiebreaker over STEELERS (division record).
BRONCOS, JETS and RAVENS win tiebreaker over TEXANS (conference record).
BRONCOS win tiebreaker over JETS and RAVENS (strength of victory). — BRONCOS earn No. 5 spot.
RAVENS win AFC North tiebreaker over STEELERS (division record).
JETS and RAVENS win tiebreaker over TEXANS (conference record).
JETS win tiebreaker over RAVENS (strength of victory). — JETS earn No. 6 spot.
RAVENS win AFC North tiebreaker over STEELERS (division record).
RAVENS win tiebreaker over TEXANS (conference record). — RAVENS earn No. 7 spot.
TEXANS win tiebreaker over STEELERS (record vs. common opponents). — TEXANS earn No. 8 spot.
1st off… On almost every running play Moreno was stuffed behind the line of scrimage… He had hardly any chance to make a play (We’ve seen he can run well when given just DECENT holes to go through)
And guys… I know it still sucks… But really, it’s a blessing that we’ve done as well as we have this season. I think everyone got gready after going 6-0.
On paper, we were really supposed to SUCK and STINK it up… But we didn’t… We’ve contended all year long.
Yea, we are now living on a prayer, but we’ve been given a glimpse of what is to come in a year or two.
Now for McD… Just like every rookie, you have to learn your position… BY TRIAL AND ERROR… He’s a young football genius that, yes, has screwed up on play calls… BUT C’MON! we know what he can do, because we saw it in the first 6 weeks.
Besides the score, the first 6 weeks, without the miracles, we were at best 3-3.
http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/nfl-playoff-picture
This link explains the tie breaker scenarios.
http://www.nfl.com/standings/tiebreakingprocedures
i saw that one broncofanlvnm but everything said in broncomvp24′s link shatters all i know. understand, and what adam sheffter has said on the tweeter…for our teams sake i hope broncomvp24′s post is correct…but adam shefter is rarely wrong and his post aligns with what is in broncofanlvnm’s post
Anyway…..looking over this thing 900 times and giving ourselves headaches makes no sense…all we gotta do, is win…and see where the season takes us…everything is gonna happen the way its meant to whether we like it or not….cant look past the chiefs…we lost to the raiders cuz we looked past em…i mean for goodness sakes the browns man handled them lol
According to what they said on NBC is that the Ravens hold the tie breaker. But even on NFL.com under playoff picture it shows us in the number 5 seed still. Even after todays loss. The only thing is we have to win on sunday against the Cheifs and hope it all shakes out in our favor. I have checked two different sites and it shows us in the Number 5 seed.
You guys are only reading if it comes down to two teams. With three or more teams the following is applied.
T
hree or More Clubs
(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)
Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.
Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)
Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.
Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.
Strength of victory.
Strength of schedule.
Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.
Best net points in conference games.
Best net points in all games.
Best net touchdowns in all games.
Coin toss
I considered that as well 83 but its all so confusing…becuase at the end of the day it might end up being about 5 teams with the same record
MFL total access needs to breaks this completely down lol…cuz its liek i know the procedure but i dont know the procedure cuz i sure as hell dont work for them lol…would love to tho
I’ve changed my mind, and I want the Broncos to MAKE the playoffs. Cuz look, we’re gonna set (another) BAD NFL record, if we miss the playoffs. We’ll be only the 2nd team (besides the ’03 Vikings), to start a season 6-0 and MISS THE PLAYOFFS. I don’t want that. Even if we get blown out in the playoffs, which I think we will. We might have a chance against NE, but Cincy is gonna be way too p. o.’d to play us considering how they lost week 1.
A fast start, followed by (yet another) MONUMENTAL COLLAPSE, only to MISS the playoffs (again) and finish .500 or there abouts (again), is something that we could have managed (AGAIN!) should Pat have decided to KEEP ole’ Shanny.
This year was SUPPOSED to be different. With what, 32 new players? And all but 2 new coaches?! Same result. Same old choking Broncos. So let’s go Raiders and let’s go Bengals. BAL and/or NYJ lose AND we win next week… we’re in. That’s all I want moving forward, some kind of “bright spot” in this monumental collapse 2 years in a row.
Wow, everyone is still talking about the wild card. The jets were handed the wild card spot by the colts. And the bengals will probably rest their players because I don’t see the Patriots losing. So, I don’t want to think about anything but beating the Chiefs. We should have taken care of business today. We had that game until the last drive again. Another heart breaking game for our beloved broncos. We play our game and we just have to wait. No one is giving any of the wild card teams a chance anyway. But, I don’t think they should count out any wildcard team. Especially our Broncos if we make it. We will give their beloved colts and dolts a scare.
