All that been said, once I get over the fact that losing the SD game at home cost us the division title, we are still standing pretty as far as the wild card is concern, but with the number of teams that are only one game back now, we have placed ourselves in the position where we can no longer lose any game if we want to control our destiny. So, here is to hoping, like I found myself doing yesterday while watching the game, that we never get any closer than 3rd or 4th and three yards to go, so we will never have to see that Moreno dive up the middle again. LOL. One can always hope...

killerkod, you got your wish, I just watched McD's news conference, the reporters had all the right questions about the short yardage game, McD just basically refused to address everyone's concern, no big surprise there, just saying the calls are right, the RB running the plays is the right guy, Hillis couldn't run the short yardage because he had to be the FB because Larsen went down (so why don't you give a quickt hand off to the FB?), but if the line doesn't do it's job even Franco Harris won't get that yard, whatever.... Points all well taken, but what a stubborn young man! He is just fooling himself and all of us turning a blind eye to his approach, he will run into that brick wall on short yardage doing exactly what he has called for all year regardless of the results, he has proven that so far and he will not sway from that path. He will stick it out with his 1st round draft choice on the dreaded 3rd or 4th and one, regardless of the result. Real sad indeed. Been there all year, I'm getting used to it, those downs are actually a good time to take a leak at the sports bar... I can't watch them anymore.

Big D 44, agreed with you, how offense is behind the eight ball, this is what I said about it yesterday:

What is this thing McD keeps on preaching about playing for 60 minutes, does he mean for the Defense only, because he is certainly not talking about the Offense. All year long, the Offense has played 30 minutes at best, they have been basically completely absent during every 1st half this year, what’s up with that McD? I mean by now you would think you would come out into a game with a good plan of attack, but you have yet to do that, you respond well after a half adjusting to what is going on on the field, but unfortunately, in this game, in this league, it’s like too little too late. I think it’s grand time for you to re-assess how you prepare offensively for a game, because how you are doing it so far has not produced hardly anything in the first halves of 13 games. The post season might be upon us, it’s never too late to come up with a different game plan offensively. I, for one, have grown tired of seeing us accomplish zilch, nada, nothing offensively in the first halves of nearly every game so far. Isn’t anyone out there a bit bored with that also? McD will be great some day, but, man, he still has a long way to go to get there. When I said in pre-season it would take us three seasons to get real good considering the new system, I might of been right on. Hope not, but that would be ok I guess, as long as it’s for real. Now it’s kind of like a mirage, it looks great from a distance, but it’s not quite there when you get right down to it.

Baylinocrush- I agree with you on the short yardage play calling. It is really getting on my nerves that we will not use Hillis. McD needs to get over it and start using our big horse. Also, mixing up the play calling wouldn't hurt our short yardage conversion percentage.

With that said, I put this loss (as with most of them) on McD. Our Defense is doing good. I know we shouldn't have given up so many points at the beginning of the game but we toitally shut them out for a big portion of the game. We got three turnovers and our OFFENSE CANNOT SCORE. We would have won if our offense could score. Therefore, I feel McD's beloved offense that he brought here is the weakness of our team. IMO we should put in Hillis and Larsen on short yardage and mix in play action with that line-up.

We lost to a very good team. I was impressed with the way the team played, the defense was ran around for the 1st quarter but hung in their enough to win the game. The offense is still under construction in my eyes. Orton can keep a team in the game, he won't lose the game for you, but he can't carry a team like NFL teams sometimes need. Why can't he just get rid of the ball instead of taking sacks all the time? It seems like he holds onto it way too much thinking he can slip away from sacks with his "athleticism". Just saying, that's my only few gripes about the guy.

Don't look past Oakland. Let's do the thing.

Broncfalls,
Agree, we still control the wildcard. All the Broncos need to due is win out the rest of the games. Even if they drop the game to Philly, I think they will get in the playoffs. (I think they will beat Philly).
I would love to see a rematch with either the Colts or Chargers.
