It's also a double standard for those with the character flaws. Until society stops putting them on a pedestal and hold them accountable for their actions nothing will change. I do applaud Goddell for his attention to that matter with his imposition of fines & suspensions. It should go further and what I mean, if I were to break the law, jail time would be a possibility. How many times has someone I'm the entertainment business been given a pass with a 'slap on the wrist'?

That's why it's nice to see the likes of Von, RG3, Luck, AJ and Watt (just to name a few)be the future stars of the league. No issues concerning character there...

I like the way DB thinks, outside of his Tebow blindness of course, LOL. No doubt this game is way bigger than just the play on the field, that's why they make millions, with that come responsibilities to all the youngsters who look up to them, shame on the players who can't see that or can't find the self discipline to be up to the task.

Hey Royal - it's been good to see you around more!

Ahh yes...the 'judging' thing...

Somehow I salve the guilt, of wasting time watching football, by thinking that football is an iconic cultural phenomenon that means something in an ultimate sense.

When I think of all the Pop Warner kids who look up to football professionals and attempt to emulate their paths to fame, fortune, and significance...

I tend to think teams do a disservice to society when they tolerate 'street punks'. Suh is the classic example of wasted humanity, and NFL fame. Dump the bum!!! He is an embarrassment to the NFL and the Lions organization.

I hope the Broncos organization is correct thinking that DJ is salvageable...I guess we are forced to trust Elway and Fox on this...I'd love to be wrong about DJ.

I'm not here to judge his character DB, and if the front office has faith in keeping DJ and as long as they believe in him, that 's good enough for me.

If DJ can put the past behind him and really put out the effort to become the championship caliber he is capable of....

you know...like becoming 'a man' like Bay was writing about earlier....who knows....

....otherwise he is just a talented punk in the 'lull before the storm' in which he will shame his family and team.

BT, intangibles are all fine and dandy but if your attitude stinks people aren't going to flock around you. All they're going to do is criticize you. Look at Jay Cutler. Now the Bears are a team who are finally realizing what they have in that guy, but he has a personality disorder and it's been very difficult for him to prove to people that he is good at what he does. If he had a different attitude it is very likely that he would've still been in Denver and as some people think, won us a couple of SB's already. Your attitude matters. How can you believe so strongly that Tim Tebow could be a great starting quarterback in the NFL because of his intangibles and completely ignore RGIII's INTANGIBLES or Andrew Luck's INTANGIBLES? Sorry. Anybody on the planet is going to tell you that Griffin and Luck are better QBs than Tim Tebow. And what they bring to the table is awesome talent and intangibles. So, yeah, either of them might go through a slump or not have the best season next year, or either of them could flourish. I get your point that they still have a lot to prove, but they are playing awesome football right now. Can't ignore that fact. And you can't take their intangibles away from them. You can't take their positive attitudes away from them either if you take any of it away, they aren't who they are. And yes, I do think that Griffin is better than Cam and I don't think he's out trying to prove that he is. He wants to be as good as Aaron Rodgers is and that's his goal. Not a shabby one at all. A good attitude gets you as far as your imagination can take you.

Sorry for my late response. I had to be a girl today and go see twilight.

DJ seemed to do well when he did get in... his teammates were all over him when he dropped a Charger RB for a loss, even on the sidelines by the other Broncos!! They seemed happy to have him back.

I agree to tolerate DJ in the lineup as long as he will agree to stop the KC running attack. LOL
