PREGAME:

We’re here at Arrowhead Stadium on this beautiful Sunday morning getting ready for the Broncos game against the Chiefs, which kicks off at 11:00 a.m. MST.
Some of the players have taken the field, stretching and preparing for the game. Kicker Matt Prater is warming up his leg by kicking field goals, and punter Britton Colquitt just spent some time with his brother Dustin, who plays the same position for the Chiefs.
BRONCOS AT CHIEFS GAMECENTER: For play-by-play action and up-to-the-minute stats, check out the Broncos gamecenter. We’ll keep you updated here with scoring plays, drive recaps and all the fun bits and pieces you can’t get from looking at a box score.
BRONCOS ON TWITTER: Another option is to follow the @Denver_Broncos Twitter account. There are constant updates on there throughout the game. You don’t have to be on Twitter to read the posts, but if you are, you should follow the account for news throughout the week as well.
FAMILY AFFAIR: Britton and Dustin Colquitt are the first brothers since 1941 to punt in the league at the same time. They’ll be on the same field today.
BRONCOS AND CHIEFS INACTIVES: Linebacker Wesley Woodyard, who has been battling a knee injury all week, is one of seven players inactive for today’s game for the Broncos.
PREGAME PHOTOS: Here are some photos from Eric Lars Bakke and Ben Hays of the Broncos warming up before the game.
COIN TOSS: Tight End Daniel Fells is the game captain for the Broncos as he joins the Broncos’ five season-long captains for the coin toss, with Britton Colquitt standing in for the injured Wesley Woodyard as the special teams captain. The Broncos won the toss calling tails and deferred their choice to the second half. Kansas City will receive.
MILLER CONTINUES HIS STRONG CAMPAIGN: Linebacker Von Miller sacked Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel on the first series of the game. It was his 7.5 sack of the season.
TEBOW RUNS IT IN: The Broncos strike first. Quarterback Tim Tebow took the snap on the quarterback draw and ran behind the right tackle for the touchdown to put Denver up 7-0.
INJURY UPDATE: Running back Willis McGahee has a hamstring injury and his return is questionable.
FIRST QUARTER COMES TO AN END: At the end of the first quarter, the Broncos lead 7-0 without throwing a pass.
*INJURY UPDATE: Running back Knowshon Moreno has a knee injury. His return is doubtful.
PRATER PADS LEAD: Kicker Matt Prater kicks a 38-yard field goal to extend Denver’s lead to 10-0 with 7:46 left in the second quarter. It was Prater’s 35th consecutive successful field goal from inside 40 yards.
SHARING THE BALL: Six players have carried the ball so far for the Broncos.
BRONCOS TAKE THE LEAD INTO THE HALF: Denver heads into the locker room up 10-0. The Broncos are an NFL-best 28-1 since 1994 when shutting out their opponent in the first half.
CHIEFS NARROW BRONCOS LEAD: Matt Cassel throws a 1-yard play-action pass to fullback Le’Ron McClain to shorten Denver’s lead to 10-7 with 8:15 left in the third quarter.
BRONCOS TOP 200 RUSHING YARDS: Quarterback Tim Tebow’s 10-yard run in the third quarter put Denver over the 200 rushing yards mark for the second consecutive game.
THIRD QUARTER COMES TO A CLOSE: The third quarter has come to an end here at Arrowhead Stadium, with the Broncos leading 10-7.
TEBOW TO DECKER FOR A TOUCHDOWN: Tim Tebow throws a 56-yard touchdown pass deep down the right sideline to Eric Decker on third down to put Denver up 17-7 with 6:44 remaining in the fourth quarter.
CHIEFS COME BACK ONTO THE FIELD: The Chiefs will try for a late comeback as they get the ball with 1:55 remaining in the game down 17-7.
BRONCOS DEFEAT CHIEFS 17-10: Denver improves to 4-5 on the year with a victory in Kansas City.

Also, the Jets have one road victory this year so far.
Still no new blog as of yet. I`d like to hear from Coop or Mike Rice.
OT, I think that Sanchez WILL implode. Miller and Dumervil will make sure that he’s all sorts of flustered. Like daddybronc stated earlier, there’s a difference in this team, and it’s got all sorts of teams confused and wondering how we are winning. I, for one, welcome all the naysaying because the fewer of our opponents who believe, the more of them that will be upset after the game!
This post is directed towards any media hacks who are browsing this website:
MEMO:
Deep strikes downfield are low percentage passes unless you have Randy Moss.
How can Tebow complete 60% of his passes when they are all deep outs?
Right now our receivers aren’t good at making a play on the ball. If it’s not perfectly placed in the hands it’s dropped. ( Man I miss B. Lloyd ). Do any of you haters remember last years offense? The plays that tebow passes well off of? He is amazing at throwing all the screen passes. They are a high % pass. Where are they? What about short hook passes, slants, TE drags? Think about how easy Fox has made the passing game to defend. All you need to worry about is the deep outs, and the occassional deep posts. That’s it. No 5 to 10 yard middle passes. No screens. No slants. This insane. They all you media Parrots say ” He can’t throw! “. With this play calling Joe Montana would be struggling. The coach clearly is not trying to build Tebow’s confidence. Look at Dalton & McCoy. All they throw is short stuff with the occassional deep pass. We are opposite. Then I hear McCoy say that he wants his QB to complete 65% of his passes, and then he calls low percentage routes. This is complete B/S. They were calling deep routes during a game with high winds. Tebow still placed the ball in position for his WR’s to make a play, but they didn’t.
It is crystal clear tha FOX is setting Tebow up to fail. I mean running the ball on third and long, to set up a punt. Come on man. Tebow has only thrown 1 pick. That is good by any standard. He is throwing the ball away alot, and there never is a dump off option for him. It’s either deep or go home. No rb or TE in position for a dump off if the deep pass is covered. He either has to make an amazing throw or throw it away. Yeah that’s great for the STAT line. Tebow will not be on the team next year, the writing is on the wall. And all you haters, are falling for the charade hook line and sinker. All you do is look at the stats without taking into consideration play calling. Lame very Lame. However guess what? Tebow has won three road games in a row. Do you know how hard that is for a young player? And he has thrown a TD pass in every start. Despite the lame pass plays that are called for him. Did you experts forget how good Tebow is in the 2 minute offense? How did Manning do for NY yesterday when the game was on the line? Oh he had his 4th down pass batted down. Tebow would have made the play. Go ahead and keep spewing your lame analysis, and Tebow will keep winning.
Sitting in a Humvee bored to death. We do have a rabbit/gopher/prairie dog/bird shooting contest going on (if they trip the alarm, all hell breaks loose!) so there is that to keep me occupied…
Prediction time (I really would like to get on the board and hopefully not in a negative way)
Short time to prepare and even shorter for the Jets who took a beating from the Patriots. Miller and Doom will make Sanchez wish he didnt show up!
Broncos – 27
Jets – 17
This is just great stuff to watch! LOL!
One thing was perfectly clear to me yesterday. If you keep our offense on the field sustaining drives, it makes it so much easier on your defense! I honestly felt good about our defense being able to force 3 and outs due to their high level of play!
One thing is certainly connected to the other! It was a perfect game plan. I have to give Fox a lot of credit for finally saying the following regarding the high dose of running plays. “If it’s not broke, don’t fix it!”
Thursday night in my opinion is going to be a good ol’ “who wants it more” football game! The teams are so evenly matched it’s not even funny. In many cases where the jets may be ranked #16 in a particular category Denver is #17. This is true for various statistical categories!
Timmy, line it up and move the chains! LMFAO! Defense…do what you do!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
RO – I agree my man, I’m just so pumped up for the Jets game, b/c I live in NY and Jets fans are beyond annoying…
Armadillo – I think what you’re not seeing is that when we run on 3rd down, and then punt, it keeps the clock moving… As someone once said: “You play to win the game”…..
Everyone keeps talking about how you need to pass to win in the NFL so every defensive team is built to stop the pass. They play the run almost as an afterthought. The ground game is a throw-back offense that is very difficult for “modern” teams to constantly deal with. The defensive teams that are good against the run are built from the middle out, GB and the Ravens for example, big DT’s, strong MLB’s and hard-hitting safeties. Most NFL defenses are built from the outside in to handle passing attacks. I can understand why they are having some problems with a ground based running attack.
Balance is the key but it now appears that dealing with a running team is a lot more difficult than was originally believed and may be as much or more difficult than dealing with a passing team. Defenses see those all the time but running teams are few and far between.
OrangeTsunami, I agree. However you can throw a high percentage Wr short hook, te slant, rb screen for the same effect. Just to mix it up. The short pass to Willis was nice. Do you remember that sweet screen to Larson a few weeks ago? We need to build Tebow’s confidence. We need to throw short passes to keep the defenses honest. That will then open up the deep routes. Remember the reason why FOX has never, ever, ever had back to back winning seasons is because he is conservative to a fault. Yo FOX grow a set this week please.
Excellent point henryac and every Bronco fan who has been around long enough knows the true value of running the ball as long as the other team can’t stop it.
I hear ya, but remember that an incompete pass stops the clock… We had the lead, and wanted to keep the clock moving. I do think we will start passing a bit more, but there was no need on Sunday…
It’s like watching FOX play poker with all his cards on the the table showing his hand to the other card players! LMFAO!
Yep, we’re going to run it! If you stop it, we’ll do something else! If you don’t, we’re going to run it some more! LMFAO!
After the game, it was like I couldn’t stop laughing! It was priceless! Hell, at one point you almost knew Lance was going to get first down after first down! Good stuff! Very good, TOUGH road win yesterday! Congratulations Brocos!
GO GET EM’ BOYS!
For all of those clamoring for us to pass more, I hope you don’t get your wish, b/c it most likely will mean we fell behind and were forced to air it out to try to catch up….
This game wasn’t about seeing if Tebow progressed, it was about winning the game to stay in the division race. If we needed to pass, we would have, but they couldn’t stop the run. Some say going 2/8 completion can’t be over looked, but when your winning it doesn’t matter. Decker needs to make a play on those deep balls. My question isn’t with Tebow’s consistency passing, it’s with our Receivers making plays. Watch San Diego’s WR; Rivers isn’t all that great, but his WR go up and get the ball.
Being concerned with how many pass attempts you made in a victory is like being concerned about which University a stripper went too…. lol
LMAO @ OT
good point risky305. Our receivers need to make plays. But they can’t. We have to put them in positions according to their strengths. Royal likes being the number 2 outside WR. Let’s move him back there. D. Thomas needs more time to heal. It’s clear. Dallas went out and found L. Robinson on the street. There are guys to be found. You (Xanders) just have to look. It’s like they are not even trying to find players to fill our needs right now. Buckhaulter is out there, let’s go get him.. Find a receiver, any, so we can limit D. Thomas.
Our team is playing hard, so now is time for management to find a player that can help out team in it’s playoff push. & we should have never let B. Lloyd go. NEVER.. & Yes I still miss E. Riley..
Agreed, letting Lloyd go for a conditional 5th was dumber than a bag of hammers and not securing Riley after letting Lloyd go was the icing on that crap cake, will have a bad taste in my mouth about all that for a long time.
That one move kind od told me that our passing game was going out the window no matter how well someone improved. Very dumb move/trade or whatever they called that.
they prob knew they would be in for a whinefest from Lloyd for the rest of the season cause he wasn’t getting the ball………like all WR’s they’re divas in that way.
If that is the case let’s buy them som ppp’s to wear so they will feel comfortable.
The funny thing is that we are trying to throw deep, when we lack deep threats. I think Decker would be a beast in the slot. As a QB it is extremely difficult to hit a slower receiver deep because you can’t lead him far. Decker can’t run under the deep pass, so Tebow either has to throw it dead on (or he comes up slightly short). We need to find a tall guy with some speed (D.thomas isn’t the guy right now. he is clearly running slow which is to be expected after hurting his achilles). Mike Sims-Walker would have been a nice pick-up… There has to be a cat somewhere on a teams pratice squad we could grab. ( I would look at N. Orleans & Dallas for help). Xanders please think outside the box and find us some help. The irony is that even if we found the help, Fox wouldn’t use them.
Fox you have a chance to make history if you take us to the playoffs, make the most of your chance. In life we have the biggest regrets when we pass up opportnuties of risk, that could produce greatness. FOX learn to take some risks.. Life is too short to coach scared. You only have one life to live, so get aggressive and take life by the horns. What do you have to lose? If you get aggressive and we lose ,then you and Elway get your QB in the draft. But, if you get agressive and win? Then all the media will gush over you, and you will get some cash and an extention on your contract. Come on FOX take a chance. And Xanders can you spend a few days and focus ON THIS SEASON right now, instead of flying all over America checking out Pac-10 scrub QB’s. Remember they don’t play defense in the PAC, how did you Boy Luck do against Oregon? In the SEC, Luck would be another average QB. SO Xanders enough with the QB search, and get in gear and find us a RB & a DEEP THREAT WR right now please. We are in the playoff hunt right now. I mean come on man.
Willis is our best deep option right now and they don’t use him…
new blog…finally!
Aramadillo calm down , brother. I support Tebow just as much as you do and I despise the analysis of these “experts” who don’t bother to look past “the numbers” and see what’s really going on. But Fox is not trying to set Tebow up to fail. That is ridiculous. Those throws are low percentage yet HIGH reward plays that are a perfect compliment to the the running game. And they are also low risk considering they do it from a spot on the field where a turnover is equal to a punt from good field position. Tim’s confidence is just fine as is the staffs confidence in him. I am fully behind Fox, McCoy and the rest of the staff from here on out. I was clamoring to see those bubble screens and short outs just as much as anybody else, but now I realize I should leave the play calling to the play callers. Now that they are accomplishing THEIR philosophy we are winning games.
