Head Coach John Fox
On the success of the running the option with Tebow
“Part of coaching is putting your players in the best position to take advantage of their abilities. Timmy’s got outstanding abilities. He proved it at a high level of college football in the SEC at the University of Florida. It’s something that he’s comfortable with. I think our team’s adapted to it and right now I think it’s working in the run portion of our offense but he’s still got some growth to do in the pass portion. We work on it every day and we’re taking baby steps, but we’ll get there.”
On the defense
“I think the style, formula that we’re using helps the defense. But there’s no doubt they’ve gelled, they’re playing with a lot more swagger and confidence. There weren’t a lot of turnovers in the game today. I think it was played that way from both sides. It was that type of game. A tribute to those guys in that locker room. They didn’t blink they just kept going.”
On Von Miller
“He’s very gifted. That’s hopefully what happens when you take a player with the second pick in the NFL Draft, apart from all that, he’s an outstanding young man. He’s got a lot of God-given abilities no doubt. I think he’s getting better each week and he’s definitely somebody to deal with.”
On Elvis Dumervil
“I think early in the season, we were without Elvis or he was at least not himself. He was playing with one arm. This game’s hard enough with two. He’s gotten well, he’s gotten better. He missed a whole season a year ago, that’s hard to come back from. I think that says a lot about Elvis and the job Wayne Nunnely has done with him. That group’s jelled because they’re primarily all new. Brodrick Bunkley’s new, we changed defense from the 3-4 to the 4-3. So there was a lot of newness early and now I think we’re just playing without thinking. Guys are reacting and just playing ball.”
On the attitude in the locker room
“It’s the chicken or the egg deal. This game’s about confidence. The ultimate confidence is when you win. We’ve won five or four or three or even two in a row, you play with more confidence. We know we were able to turn that 1-4 start into 6-5. It couldn’t have been done without those players and coaches sticking together and believing in one another.”
On Miller’s 4-yard loss tackle -It was huge. That stretch run that was knocked back 5 yards and he was kind of affected on that play. But it was a great play that backed them up for the field goal.
Quarterback Tim Tebow
On the game
“It was a fun day. First and foremost I just have to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and thank my teammates. It’s a special team. It’s a special team when you got a bunch of guys that when things aren’t going good and we get closer instead of pulling apart. I think that’s really special and I think that’s hard to find. I think the number one reason we’re like that is because we believe in each other, believe in the coaching staff. That’s something that’s special.”
On Von Miller’s tackle for a loss on third down in overtime
“That was a huge play. I don’t know that I saw much of it because I was praying the whole time. It was a huge play. It backed them up 4 yards. Then they had the field goal. I wasn’t watching then either. The crowd cheered loud, so I kind of got dejected for a second then I saw Brady turn around and he was like this. So I knew we had an opportunity. The last drive, the offensive line, Willis and the receivers outside did a great job. There were 2 plays in a row where I got to the outside and the receiver, a different guy each time, had a great block and Willis up the middle with the huge run. It’s a lot of fun and it’s exciting when you have guys play for pretty much 5 quarters. It was special.”
On whether he was praying for San Diego to miss the kick
“I might have said that. Or maybe a block. Maybe all of it. Who knows.”
On his 22 rushes
“To be honest, my body feels great and I thank the Lord because I came out injury free and honestly feel great after playing 5 quarters.”
On getting more time in the pocket
“I think it’s mostly because the offensive line is doing a great job. Sometimes they probably got to play a little bit slower because of the option threats to both sides because you can’t necessarily get up the field extremely fast. I think you got to credit the offensive line. They did a great job and credit the coaches for coming up with the schemes and plays where they’re thinking are we getting run, pass, option, what are we getting? That could make teams slow down as well.”
Kicker Matt Prater
On his snapper and holder, Lonie Paxton and Britton Colquitt
“It makes me feel good. I know they’re going to do a perfect job.”
On the game-winning kick
“They’re all important. If I’m sitting around waiting, I know I’m going to have a good snap and hold and you have to come through when it counts. It feels good to come through for the team. It’s a team win, not just the kick that put it through.”
On whether he felt more pressure on the game-tying kick or the game-winning kick
“I didn’t really feel pressure on any of them. I treat them all the same, whether it’s an extra-point or 40 yarders, which I was struggling with – I had a 40-yarder today. I don’t think anything about it, I just hit it.”
On what’s going through his mind when he steps up for the kick
“Nothing, really. The only thing I think about is just keeping the technique the same and don’t try to overkick it, and hopefully it will go straight.”
On seeing the kick go through the uprights
“It feels awesome. It feels good to be playing with a great team, great teammates, and they’ve got confidence in me like I’ve got confidence in them. I knew we were going to get into field goal range and have a chance at the end.”
Defensive End Elvis Dumervil
On whether the team had momentum going into overtime
“We’re the road team, we’re the visiting team, so we don’t really get momentum. But I thought the guys rallied strong and finished, and that’s why we were able to get the win.”
On his confidence in Prater
“We know Matt is clutch. He’s one of the clutch kickers in the league, so if I was a betting man – if I was – I’d feel comfortable putting my bet on Matt.”
On when the kick went in
“Just wanted to get that win. That’s most important, getting that W, and now we can look to next week against a good team in Minnesota.”
Tackle Orlando Franklin
On momentum going into overtime
“Especially winning that coin toss. We’ve just got to continue getting better. That’s a great team we played today. They were able to force it into overtime. We’ve got to get better so we don’t have to go into overtime.”
On a big run getting into field goal range
“We’re just happy that we won the game. We’ve got to get better. We had opportunities earlier, so we just have to continue getting better.”
Linebacker Von Miller
On the win
“It’s incredible. The moments that we have, the wins coming in this locker room – this is why I play the game. It’s incredible when we go out there and work so hard during the week and it shows up.”
On the late comebacks
I don’t know I can’t really put my finger on it. I’ll tell you this, no matter what the score is, we’re going to keep fighting. We’re going to keep fighting and keep pushing and keep driving. That’s just our mentality.”
On winning five of six
“The mindset that we had in the locker room was just to come into work and keep our heads down and just truck and truck. Then, at the end of the season, we’ll see what happens. We’re still trucking – we have a long ways to go. That’s going to be what we’re going to do. We’re just going to keep taking it one play at a time and one day at a time.”
On the defense’s ability to get pressure on Philip Rivers
“Like I’ve said, we have Bruce Wayne over there. When he’s healthy, he’s one of the best in the league. We are just going to keep pushing, keep trucking and we’ll see how this season ends up.”
On whether he heard the Broncos fans in attendance
“It was crazy. Bronco Nation was in full effect today. Hats off to all our fans and I can’t wait to get back to Denver.”

So Ip? r you still around?
Hey Ip –
So I get that you are a real Bronco fan and you enjoy the game, I get it that becomes the reason this blog site is where you want to hang out, but what I don’t get is what is the payoff to you by irritating the rest of the bloggers? Why such persistence?
I did – you express yourself extremely well.
You have to know that what you were saying would not be appreciated.
Not appreciated = undeservedly.
What kind of work do you do? for my psyche eval!
LOL
What’s a bender? I know about going on one – LOL – but I don’t know what being one is? Careful – don’t get yourself kicked off.
So how is profit forthcoming from bending? No movies tonight.
I don’t do sci-fi. I have no idea who or what Hal sounds like. Mostly I’m loud, like a short Sargent Striker.
Nope – I wouldn’t do that, and I have no doubt that you are the bestest at things.
Are you dangerous?
My reference was to the stars on the field – you know I wouldn’t put any value on a galactic alignment. LOL
Go ahead….
I’ve been watching – you don’t have anyone with whom you play well. I’m wondering if that is by design?
What is your fixation with Bay? Who cares! Let him….
Robots and 2010 a Space Odyssey don’t fit the category of sci-fi?
So why does that bother you?
rather – Why let it bother you?
Most bloggers, as you well know, are not just as they portray themselves.
There is nothing you can do about it because you are separated by blue light saturated filament.
Everyone pokes the dog in the mouth if they hang out long enough – is the dog to bite everyone?
besides – it isn’t all about just Bay. The night we met you were derogatory on Christianity…just for the fun of it.
What is that? You do make me laugh at times.
Do you think the Broncos r gonna make the playoffs?
When you strike out at Tebow’s faith – you are going to offend everyone who believes as he does.
Do you care whether or not you offend those people?
I am a Christian and I believe as Tebow does and as I expressed that night – he has to defer the praise and glory that belongs exclusively to God, but I too find a bit of monotony in the manner of his public expression of faith. I’m glad I’m not in his shoes having to figure out how to do it better. After all- he’s just a 24 year old kid with a mic in front of his face 24/7.
btw – I accept your retraction.
I have science degrees –
you would be hard put to find a church that doesn’t have contemporary music. Churches run the full gamut from mellow to punk and death rock.
And beer? Drunkenness is the issue.
Good science admits that alcohol attacks every organ of the body – wisdom says that everyone ought to use caution.
Christianity hasn’t spoken to the issue since prohibition.
I too am generally offended by those who doorknock – so I suppose I see the point. But as you say – you can turn it off.
DB is fine – easier to type anyhow. I have 13 children – I run kids ministries. The emphasis of my life has been dealing with children-young adults in crisis. They call me daddy.
But I support my real occupation with construction work. I own a small business.
I don’t plan on posting a psyche eval. That wouldn’t be fair to either of us. You don’t answer many of the questions.
I’m still not certain why you go after Bay, there were others who were more…more…more vociferous in their denunciations?
I’m laughing – I posted just LOL and it said that was a repost and wouldn’t let me post it again. Communists!!!
I think it was ‘royalty’ that came up with the name ‘blogfather’. Today or yesterday was the first time I read him using it of himself, though it has been used by others for some time. Self-proclaimed is a bit strong.
Hey Ip – I’ve got to get some sleep. I drove all night, last night, and got home at 8am this morning. I slept till noon – but I have some catching up to do.
Nice chatting – try to behave yourself! LOL I suppose you’ll get kicked off anyway but I will recognize you if you are able to get back on.
Make peace!
For as many handles that have beem created. It amazes me as to how a self proclaimed intelligent individual would consistently refer to fans of the Denver Broncos as Bronco Nation. Seeing as it is required to sign up with Broncos Country to posts on this blog site.
Lol stevecan
I must say, the dilogue between ip and DB truly entertained me. Lmao
Go Broncos!
Later days, TRB out
I never dubbed bay the ‘blogfather’ ftr, It was broncofallies or something like that. The guy who bay always says ‘hunts squirrels’ LOL HAhA… sorry that just makes me laugh.
-Royalty
You’re right Royalty it is Broncfalls who sugggested that moniker for me.
BTW, did you see you now got company in 5th place?
lol, I cant see ips comments anymore
They shouldaa left it up just for comic relief lol … but I suppose it was dripping with alot of personal attacks. The convo was hilarious in my book lol. TRB
Good thing TRB isn’t running the blog, anything and everything would go, LOL.
The first part of this blog was funny. Daddy seemed to be talking to himself LOL.
Hmmm – Bay – get daddy blocked on this one – he’s gone crazy talking to himself!!!LOL
haha. IP got modded I suppose. So Daddybronc looks like he is having a very concerned and involved conversation with himself
