Broncos at Chargers: Pregame Blog

November 22nd, 2010 - 5:40pm by Gabe Hiatt

The last time the Broncos had a road game, they made the long trip to London’s Wembley Stadium. Tonight in San Diego the team will try to build off the momentum from last week’s 49-29 victory against the Chiefs.

Denver’s AFC West record is 1-1, and a win tonight on Monday Night Football against the Chargers would even the team’s overall record with San Diego.

The sun is shining overhead and creating shadows on the field of Qualcomm Stadium. It’s about two hours before kickoff, and several Broncos are already on the field warming up, including Tim Tebow, Brady Quinn, Eric Decker, Justin Bannan, Syd’Quan Thompson, Brandon Lloyd and Jabar Gaffney.

Robert Ayers came out earlier to work out with Strength and Conditioning Coach Rich Tuten.

Check back later for pictures from the field and more updates prior to kickoff.

5:27 MST: The Broncos inactives have been released. Andre’ Goodman, Laurence Maroney, Cassius Vaughn, Robert Ayers, Stanley Daniels, Eric Olsen and David Veikune will not suit up. Brady Quinn is the emergency No. 3 QB. For the Chargers, K Kris Brown, WR Legedu Naanee, RB Ryan Mathews, SS Darrell Stuckey, SS Steve Gregory, TE Antonio Gates, TE Kris Wilson and DL Travis Johnson are inactive. Kris Brown is the emergency No. 3 QB.

5:35 MST: Matt Prater has led the Broncos specialists onto the field. Lonie Paxton, Britton Colquitt and Prater are practicing field goals. The Broncos are wearing all white uniforms, while the Chargers are wearing dark blue jerseys with white pants.

5:45 MST: Here are some pictures from the field courtesy of Gray Caldwell:

5:55 MST: The Broncos skill position players have jogged out of the tunnel in front of a booing crowd. Kyle Orton, Tebow and Brady Quinn are warming up with the help of their receivers. The tight ends, running backs and defensive backs are all getting loose with position drills.

5:57 MST: The rest of the team is on the field, and all of the players have congregated in a huddle on the sideline. Brian Dawkins broke them down, and they dispersed to stretch.

6:14 MST: Both teams are retreating into the locker room. Kickoff is less than 20 minutes away. You can keep up with the game in the first half blog.
