15:00: Prater is set to kickoff to Morey and Urban.
Urban takes it five-yards deep in the endzone and kneels for a touchback. Cardinals will start at their 20, and Brian St. Pierre is now in at quarterback.
14:07: After two incomplete passes and a short run, the Cardinals are forced to punt after gaining just three yards. Marquay McDaniel is back deep to receive the punt. McDaniel takes it at the 29 and advances it five yards before being taken down. Hackney leads the Broncos back onto the field, starting at their own 34.
13:24: Alridge is still carrying the load, taking another rush up the middle for nine yards before being taken down.
12:20: Alridge had another solid gain around the left end, but a holding penalty wiped it out, giving the Broncos a 2nd-and-20 from their own 36.
11:46: Alridge got another touch, this one a screen from Hackney that goes for eight yards. After a false start penalty on Chad Mustard, the Broncos faced a third-and-long but couldn’t complete a pass. Kern comes back out for another punt. Kern kicks 39 yards, and the ball is fair-caught at the Arizona 22.
10:30: Steve Baylark carries up the left hash for the Cardinals, but he fumbles the ball and it’s recovered by Hamza Abdullah! Abdullah misses some would-be tacklers, but is unable to advance the ball. The Broncos take over on offense at their own 40. Wesley “Optimus Prime” Woodyard forced the fumble.
9:00: After three Alridge rushes, the Broncos are forced to punt. It’s Sam Paulescu back in as the punters continue their rotation. He booms this one 47-yards, bouncing it out of bounds at the eight-yard line.
7:40: St. Pierre tries to complete a pass as he is flushed out of the pocket, but it falls short and is almost picked off by Spencer Larsen, who laid out to try and get it.
7:25: The Denver defense holds, forcing the Cardinals to punt away from their own 13. McDaniel fair-catches the ball at the Denver 39.
7:15: Alridge just carried for an eight yard gain, giving him 100 yards on the night. But he lost a yard on the following play, putting him back to 99.
6:00: On a third-and-three, Hackney scrambled to his right, moving out of the pocket and trying to find an open receiver. He launches one towards Russell as he is hit, and the bail sails out of bounds. Kern came out to punt and booted it 40 yards, with the ball settling at the Arizona 14.
5:47: Larsen is making plays all over the field tonight as well. He has gotten his hand on a few passes, causing incompletions as well as making very solid tackles.
5:00: Facing a third-and-long, St. Pierre hits Long for a 13-yard gain and a first down.
3:30: St. Pierre fumbles a handoff, but manages to dive back on top of it as several Broncos came down for it. The Cardinals lose five yards on the play, and it’s another third-and-long. This time the Bronco defense holds, forcing a punt. McDaniel fields it and gains a few yards, but a holding penalty on Josh Barrett moves the ball back 10 yards. The offense takes over at their own 16.
2:50: Alridge carries around the left end, picking up one yard and putting him back over the century mark on the night.
2:00: On a third-and-long, Hackney complete to Mustard for a first down. Mustard made a great one-handed grab as he was falling to the ground.
0:40: Hackney complete to Martinez deep down the left sideline for 20 yards and a first down. Martinez follows it up with a nine-yard gain on an end-around to wrap up the third quarter.

Any feel on the punting competition?
Man, I want Woodyard to start. Does he have any experience playing MLB in college? If not, I say go ahead and start him at SLB. I don’t care if it makes sense with his size, I’m not even sure that I care that it would probably piss Champ off that we benched his brother for an undrafted rookie. We just need this guy on the field… Yes, I know I’m overreacting and it’s the preseason and all, but something about this guy just screams potential All-Pro.
Cutlerizer: The punting competition has been intense, especially during the preseason games. Whenever one punter makes a big play or booms one, the other follows suit. It will be a very hard decision.
GO MARTINEZ!!!!
